Vaheguroo ji ka khalsaa vaheguroo ji ki fatehh

i recently came back from visiting hazoor sahib for the first time I feel ashamed and violated.

i was just outside the takht complex with 20 other “gursikhs” who were all in their bana and wearing shastar they handed me a drink telling me it was rattani which I thought meant rose water  however I took one sip and immediately realised this wasn’t rose water but was infact alcohol I questioned the “gursikh” who handed me it and he starting laughing and confirmed it was infact alcohol they were all drinking it and said this is true “Sikhi” and that if I don’t like it I should go somewhere else I felt ashamed of my self and ran back to my accommodation and spent all day there crying.

I am really ashamed of myself and I feel I have broken my Amrit and I’m extremely scared to go pesh and admit my mistake.

do I need to go pesh because it was not intently or do I need to go ?! Please help

yes youll have to but explain the situation and youll be fine. The seva youll be given wouldnt be as harsh as if you did it knowingly

other than that, choose your sangat wisely and be able to discern between ppl. We cant be pushed down by ppl who claim to be sikhs.

Why do you need to go? Was it intentional? No.

There's a story in the Sau Sakhi, where a Sikh gets caught by the Mughals, has his hair forcibly cut and forced to eat kuttha. They then release him and he comes back to the 10th Guru. He tells the Guru everything and asks, Am I still a Sikh? The Guru said yes, as it was not your fault. The Guru did not require him to re take Amrit.

Look, do what you want for your own piece of mind, but for those who insist that you do need to retake amrit, please can you provide any reference where something has happened by accident which requires retaking amrit?

Many thanks

AH yes! Correct.

Only Guru Sahib hugged him because he actually escaped from being seduced by a Turk Randi. How he escaped or how that Randi came about is unknown...

Guru Sahib said "Distribute Prashad to Sangat!" once he did that Guru Ji hugged him n said "Maya was in front of u, u escaped! you're a true Sikh."
