WJKK WJKF I'm very keen to learn to play shabads on keyboard or harmonium. I have very limited knowledge of sargams. Could anyone please recommend me how can I learn without a teacher, since there is no one to help me out where I live. Is there some kind of DVD lessons available or some simple books anyone could recommend, I would be highly appreciate.

A new door opens for Sikhs (turbans and beards in the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department) Once again Sheriff Leroy D. Baca has lead the way in the battle for equal opportunity and fair treatment for all Californians and has set an example for all of America by inviting Sikh Americans to join and serve in the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department while maintaining their religiously mandated appearance. Tonight at 7:00pm at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration in the main hearing room, Jagjit Singh, the first turbaned and bearded Sikh in the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department will graduate from levels 1&2 of his reserve training. Several hundred additional Sikh devotees attended the meeting to exhibit their solidarity and to make themselves known on the global scene. SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL, SECOND HOUSE: In our mother’s womb, You blessed us with Your meditative remembrance, and You preserved us there. Through the countless waves of the ocean of fire, please, carry us across and save us, O Savior Lord! || 1 || O Lord, You are the Master above my head. Here and hereafter, You alone are my Support. || Pause || He looks upon the creation like a mountain of gold, and sees the Creator as a blade of grass. :TH: Women’s Space in the Mosque: Sikhs Might Have a Solution print-friendly version A service at a Bay Area Gurdwara By Safiyya Aslan It is important for people of all religions to understand each other, to recognize unique differences and to relate through their essential similarities. Recently, as part of a university research project, I was granted the opportunity to investigate some aspects of Sikhism. In order to understand the religion in practice, I have been hanging around a Sikh Gurdwara (house of worship) diligently taking note of all observations, from aspects of its architecture to rituals and social interaction between attendees. My experi…

VahegurujikaKhalsa, VahegurujikiFateh! Sangat ji, It was an amazing achievement today - young Singhs and Singhnia from all over the UK, from all jathebandhies came together to stop the extremist Islamists from having a platform to do Nindhia of our beloved SatGuru and Dharma. The cowardly al-Muhajiroun cancelled their rally and went to the middle of nowhere in Essex. And the reaction from the public? Almost every single one was - 'well done guys - keep it up'. The banners said it all - 'SIKH, British and Proud!', 'Those who cannot see God in everyone, cannot see God at all' and 'Sikhs against al-Muhajiroun'. The National Front did turn up - and there was no trouble. …

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh! As we all know, in the recent days there was much talk of a Islamic rally to be held in London, when they had said some negative things about Sikhism and our Guru Sahiban. Also before this RSS, and various Christian groups have giving negative statements to create a negative/incorrect image of Sikh tenets. With the GREAT efforts of Sikh YOUTH (with others), this rally was cancelled. I am starting this post to give my views how we can tackle these problems in the future, and how i feel we have done some things wrong. Sangat ji.....i feel we should answar all questions set by Muslims, Hindus, Christians or other through the G…
