"harmandar Sahib", Perhaps Darbar Sahib? 1 2 3 4

Dont shoot me for just askin a question, but whats the oldest account which refers to Sri Darbar Sahib as Harmandar Sahib? The only gurbani tukh which uses the word, "prabh harmandar sohna", was written by Guroo Nanak Dev Ji, i.e before Darbar Sahib was made so i dont think that that tukh is reffering to Darbar Sahib. So wheres the earliest place that the name "harmandar sahib" is used in reference to Darbar Sahib Amritsar?

Hi I’m a Singh in his mid twenties (i.e. have turban and beard) I’ve never had a girlfriend and never even kissed etc ….when I was younger I lived in the hope I would eventually find someone but now that I’m getting older I’ve realised that no woman has ever shown any interest in me and I keep thinking that no one will ever want me and that there is something wrong with me. It’s just that not even a religious Sikh woman has ever been interested in me. Don’t get me wrong I’m not one of those singhs who harasses women or anything like that I just thought that it would happen in its own time BUT it hasn’t. From what I see Sikh women want trim singhs and the rest want clean s…

Vaaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh !!!!! Sangat jee, I have had a bunch of dumb questions for quiet some time about the Rehits ever since I took Amrit. I request only Amritdhari Singhs and Bibis to respond. 1.) Do you use 2 towels during your ishnaan? One for the body & one for the kesh? 2.) Do you use a large kangha in your joora or a small or medium sized one? 3.) (For Singhs) Do you use he same kangha to comb your kesh and your beard? And do you keep the same one in your joora? 4.) Is it ok if you sit on the floor on a spread out bedsheet to do Nitnem if there is no other higher place or furniture in your bedroom besides an air filled mattress w…

by Guest Guest- 14 replies

Hi everyone, I was just wondering how would you lot deal with this situation: I am trying to advise my cousin sister. After marriage she was expected to go and live in the mans house, but previous to that she had her own house for years but was expected to leave it. She lived independently for years and of course, would find in difficult to live in the in-laws house but she agreed to try it. Now, they "imprison" her. She is not allowed to keep in contact with her old, good friends (been friends for 10 years) and has her calls to her family monitored. She is expected to cook and clean whilst her husband does nothing. She is treated as a house slave, even though she is m…
