  1. Are singhs on here for real? SIkhs joining the edl or even giving passive support is one of the dumbest things i have seen. Are you defending english values? Like the right to be racist? Invade foreign countries for no reason? Assault asian schoolgirls? Scream at tourists for not speaking english in london? Act like being born white makes you better than the rest of those born here? Rewrite history to make others seem inferior when in truth they were just as civilized as the english? Get your heads out of your backsides. Do you see any khalistani flags at the demos? NO! Just hindustani ones. English sikhs are the laughing stock of the world. UAF are no better, just a bunch of lefty scum. The left in this country has never done anything for sikhs. But then again neither has the right. Turns out no gives a damn about us. Surprise, surprise. Not. Now if you dont mind I'm off to torch a Ford Capri parked on the corner of my street. ;D

  4. No I want to see what their views on a khalistani flag flying along side a hindustani is. I assure you the hindus will have something to say about it. As for hyde park rally, any unemployed chav can give up a day to go and shout slogans and wander around. They have nothing better to do. How about they go and fight the indian government tomorrow like our lot came over here to help them fight the germans/turks or japanese in the last century? I think our community has done more than enough for england. If they want our help then they should prove it beyond doubt. What issues do you feel passionately about? Sikh girls going out with musi guys? So if we kick out the musis, these girls will become the most chaste and honest girls the world has seen without the musi influence? If you believe that you are nuts.

  5. It's sad how when Sikhs were kicking off in the late 90s onwards, you didn't do anything then. Where were you hiding? I know you were old enough then. Now you think becoming white man's 'boy', blindly patriotic to England like a nationalist mug is some kind of solution/progress. It would be better if you just sat on your arse then do what you are doing mate. Shame on you. And if you can't answer the simple questions I asked in my last post, just own up to it.

  6. Press Release and Sangat Update Birmingham, UK - 25 January 2011 Satkaar Campaign - next steps: Dudley Gurdwara approached UK Sangat encouraged to continue approaching other offending Gurdwara committees Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! As a priority, the peaceful Satkaar Campaign is initially focused on implementing Akal Takhat Sahib's 2006 Sandesh and working to ensure that halls linked to Gurdwaras do not permit meat, alcohol, tobacco and parties. With Guru Ji's Beant Kirpaa and through the collective resolve of the Sangat, the Satkaar Campaign has had some early successes in halting certain anti-Sikh activities that used to take place in the the halls linked to the Gurdwara complexes of Grays, Edinburgh and Ramgarhia Sikh Temple Birmingham, and obtained a commitment from such Gurdwaras to comply with Akal Takhat Sahib's 2006 Sandesh. However, there are approximately 15 more Gurdwaras with linked halls currently allowing meat, alcohol, tobacco and parties, so there is a long way to go. Although the Satkaar Campaign has been contacted by Sangat members from many different towns and cities in respect of Gurdwaras in their vicinity which contravene Akal Takhat Sahib's 2006 Sandesh, the Satkaar Campaign has prioritised and recently approached Gurdwara Guru Nanak Singh Sabha, Dudley, as we understand that the committee of this Gurdwara is currently considering burdening the local Sangat with a loan for the purposes solely of extending the party hall, so that larger/more frequent parties with meat, alcohol and tobacco can take place at the hall. With Guru Ji's Blessings and the continued support of the UK Sangat, we intend to approach all Gurdwara committees contravening Akal Takhat Sahib's 2006 Sandesh in due course. However, as the 2006 Sandesh notes, it is the duty of every Sikh to ensure its implementation. We would encourage all members of the UK Sangat to peacefully, courteously and respectfully initiate a dialogue with offending Gurdwara committees with whom you may have any links and/or are in your area. Please do keep us updated via our email address of any developments/progress in your area and, although we will only be publicly approaching one Gurdwara at a time, we will be happy to assist members of the UK Sangat to the extent we can. Please find attached the letter sent last week to the President of Dudley Gurdwara, Mr Ajit Singh Sandhu. He acknowledged receipt of this letter in a telephone call with him on Monday 24 January 2011. We impressed upon him in the call that it is in the beneficial interests of all involved to have a face-to-face meeting between Satkaar Sevadaars and the Dudley Gurdwara committee as soon as possible to resolve this issue, and we proposed a meeting either this weekend (29-30 January 2011) or the following weekend (5-6 February 2011). The President promised to revert to us upon further consultation with fellow committee members, though we pointed out that we will call him again later in the week if we do not hear anything further. As Sevadaars of the Sangat, we will keep you fully informed of developments. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  9. A greater threat to you? Not to the rest of us. Anyway you havent answered the point that if this movement is so popular, why does it need sikh support? Surely that will only galvanize the musis further? As for the flags, the Nishan Sahib is not the same as the Khalistani Flag. Why dont you get your friends to fly a khalistani flag on their demos alongside flags of other countries?

  10. Here are the charity details for whoever's interested (see link), you can see the submitted accounts of Guru Nanak Singh Sabha, Dudley on the following : http://www.charity-c...sidiaryNumber=0 We see that the community centre generated £27k in the year ending 31 March 2010 (see attached accounts for 2010). As a percentage of the total gross income £142k, the Sikh Cultural Centre only generates a measly 19% of Guru Nanak Singh Sabha, Dudley's total income. The Gurdwara core activities generate £109k of income, which contributes 77% of the total gross income. After expenditure, we get an even bleaker picture and see that the Sikh Cultural Centre makes a loss of £(16)k and is therefore subsidised by the Guru Ghar's core activities. There is no justification this Committee can make in saying that the income from the Sikh Cultural Centre subsidises the Guru Ghar. If the Sikh Cultural Centre had zero income for year ending 31 March 2010 Guru Nanak Singh Sabha, Dudley would have made net income of £10k. What skews the picture is the current loan the committee have with Natwest Bank, presumably taken for the refurb of the Guru Ghar (not the Cultural Centre). Without knowing the terms and condition of this specific loan it's hard to comment. Judging from the loan interest payments it does look like low interest loan. If the committee feel that they need immoral income from the hall to contribute to paying of the loan off, I would suggest that they remortgage, pay the loan off (as it's probably short term) and take advantage of a 20/25 year repayment plan. They could be comfortably subsidise the mortage repayments from the core Guru ghar activities without needing the meat, alcohol, party income stream... Dudley Acc 31_03_10.pdf

  11. Yes, I think your comments need to be critiqued because you are actually leading apnay down a very bad road. I'm not saying that you are doing it on purpose, it's probably down to lack of foresight on your part. I think you and the people you are with are actually making things worse. Plus you are ruining the reputation of SIkhs because the racist white media in this country just use people like you to create negative headlines involving the Sikh image. Plus, whilst you are critical of Muslims, you show sycophancy towards goray, and don't see how they cause so much trouble (here and abroad). It's like you are blindly loyal to them? I think it's great sullay are protesting against British soldiers engaging in pseudo-imperialist wars by the way. Plus I think western nations are just as bad as any sullay you can mention when it comes to attacking foreign countries and destablising them. In case your ignorant to it, they managed to destroy Sikh sovereignty too in the past. You don't seem like the type of guy who can see subtle differences to me? You seem like someone who just sees a 'sullah threat' but doesn't recognise that some Iraqi fighting western soldiers in say Basra may be more patriotically motivated than religiously. You also don't see how goray do EXACTLY what you are complaining that sullay are doing, by going into foreign countries and trying to foist their own western ideas of democracy, proportional representation on them, usually using this as some cover whilst they steal resources like oil. You might be an okay guy, but you are in over your head here. Let more clever people deal with the situation.

  12. I'm just wondering if you're genuinely interested in Sikh matters or are you just solely here to plug the EDL? I can't help get the impression that you might perceive the threat of 'Islamists' in the UK as 'all consuming' and be blind to the host of other internal issues we have to confront as a quom that have nothing or little to do with Muslims? Do you think someone like this is any sort of person to be following in any case? What kind of low class behaviour is that? He makes a chav look classy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp0SAqmf_y8

  14. Dowry from a Sikhi perspective is when one side of the families demands a commodity from the less fortunate family or the girls side. A gift is a gesture of apperciation that is not asked for or demanded from any side. With guptkuri's situation, it is a gift from the parents to her and the husband. But you need to be really careful, don't put the house even in your name. Keep it under your parents name, until you have 100% assurance that it is not a case of get rich and ditch.

  20. It is a common practise, just make sure that house is in your name. I know it sounds bad but it is best to be careful. When I say it is common practise, I mean that a lot of guys I know who come from india after getting married in UK tend to live with their inlaws mostly. Then eventually they find their own place. Sometime if the in-laws are in a position to do so, they will help with the cost of finding a place etc. It all depends on your family's circumstances. If they can afford to give you a house, then why not. If they cannot, then why not take it but pay them back, bit by bit.

  23. In Canada, their largest Hindu Advocacy Canadian Hindu Advocacy has joined with JDL .. to support EDL: http://www.adbusters...dl-protest.html One might find it curious to see militant Zionists and Hindu nationalists come together to host a rally in solidarity with racist British football hooligans in the dead of the Canadian winter. But when the common enemy is Islam, transatlantic right wing extremists seem happy to ignore their differences and embrace a marriage of convenience. The leader of the English Defense League (EDL), a rabidly anti-Muslim organization notorious for holding violent and intimidating street protests, was given a forum to address approximately 100 people at the Toronto Zionist Centre by the Canadian wing of the Jewish Defense League (JDL) last Tuesday. In a political and economic climate of uncertainty and fear, scapegoating and blatant racism have found receptive audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Speaking to the Canadian crowd via Skype connection, EDL leader Stephen Lennon stated that, "Islam stands fundamentally against what we are for. It's like oil and water." He warned Canadians to fight back before being overrun by "Islamofascists" like Britain. Alleged to have been a member of the racist British National Party, Lennon was charged with assaulting a police officer at an EDL demonstration last November. While the EDL has forged links with Dutch far right politician Geert Wilders and elements of the Tea Party movement in the US, this was the group's first foray into Canada. Though major British Jewish organizations have denounced the EDL as Islamophobic and violent, the Jewish Defense League of Canada welcomed them with open arms due in large part to the EDL's support for Israel in what it sees as a war of Western civilization vs. Islam. The JDL claims to be committed to, "the reclamation of the Jewish sense of Justice and the abolition of hatred and bigotry." Outside the event protesters from the Anti Racist Action shouted, "How can you stand arm in arm with these fascists? Your grandparents would be ashamed!" Wearing balaclavas and hoodies emblazoned with the image of a clenched fist over a Star of David, JDL members silently stood guard. Labeled a violent extremist organization by the FBI, the JDL is a far right Zionist movement founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane in 1968. A former charter member of the JDL named Baruch Goldstein murdered 29 Palestinians in a Hebron mosque in 1994. The JDL's website praises Goldstein as, "A martyr in Judaism's protracted struggle against Arab terrorism." Most recently the leader of the JDL, Irv Rubin, and another member were arrested in 2001 for plotting to blow up a mosque in Culver City, California and assassinate Arab-American Congressman Darrell Issa. The Canadian branch of the JDL operates openly in North Toronto, a testament perhaps to the unprecedented strengthening of ties between Canada and Israel over the last five years. While the group has not been linked to any acts of terrorism, hate speech and incitement spewed unchallenged from JDL representatives at the EDL event. Before introducing Lennon a JDL representative advocated the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from the Occupied Territories and the destruction of the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Expressing support for Florida pastor Terry Jones' effort to organize a mass burning of the Koran on the anniversary of 9/11, he proclaimed, "The Koran should be burned in any civilized country." Global linkages are being made between racist organizations hell bent on combating their perceived enemies. When such voices of violence and provocation receive a welcoming audience in one of the world's most multicultural cities it is frightening to imagine what it portends for the future. The words of a speaker from the group Canadian Hindu Advocacy should serve as a warning. "The problem of Islam is a global problem," he declared. "We will resolve this problem one way or another." 24. Just Saying, This Rana Fella Is A Mona Who Runs ‘Turban Campaign’. I Wouldn’t Be Surprised If He Is A Secret Islam Convert Using Propaganda Tactics. Why Would Anyone Want To Convert To Islam? Oh Yeah, Then They Have Excuses To Do Evil. Why Doesn’t He, Rana, Put Up His Picture Under The Name ‘Turban Campaign’ On This Forum And Elsewhere. Oh Yeah! Then Everyone Would See His Deceptive Tactics! This Mona Rana Character Is Very Cunning! I Am Confident He Works For Islam Extremists. Having Said That. I Wouldn’t Necessarily Join The EDL, NO. I Would Definitely Educate Them However On The Differences Between Sikhs And Muslims. I Would Educate The Entire UK And World On Sikhi !! I Am Confident (Though Many Won’t Agree) But Many People Of The EDL Will Actually Respect Sikhi !! (Even Though Sikhi Is Very Much Against The Culture Of Drinking Etc) Many Would Actually Perhaps Even ‘Find The Light’ Through Sikhi !! The Islam Extremism That EDL Is Fighting Against, Is GOOD; But, Sikhs Need To Represent Themselves. I Am Talking About True Khalsa Aashikhs. Not Super Glued Dhaaree, Starched Helmets, Towel Head So Called Scholars No Jeevan Brown Noses. True Saint Soldier Inspired Aashikhs With Royal Dastaar Crowns. The UK Government Are Islam Extremist Brown Noses. And This Is Very Dangerous. People Need To Understand That There Is Evil That Is Preached In The Quran. Stop Being Brown Noses Like So Called ‘Turban Campaign’ Run By Mona Cunning Propagandists. ALL EVIL FROM EVERYWHERE WILL BE DESTROYED WORLDWIDE !!!!! TRUE KHALSA WILL RISE AND RULE THE HEARTS OF ALL WORLDWIDE !!!!! CHARDHI KALAA !!!

Quote: "You keep going on about how apneean get manipulated by sullay" how many times exactly has that been mentioned here?. now all of a sudden. Stop Press. The crazy news factory that is Dal's singhs head:- We must to highlight how Goreh are turning Apeanan into bimbos if we are going to condemn islamists. This is only fair and must be done in conjunction. Half the signatures are RSS & Congress supporters and Members, even the Mandirs have signed ,I want to ask the geeza who started this signtaure thing - you say its a declaration of being against EDL may i remind you - you missed out the Muslims,I aint seen one Islamic name of Mosque - just Mandirs, and Bhamans - the so called Sikh Community - the Hindus are the real leaders of the Sikh Community and you people have just proved it : ie; Verindra Sharma

  27. I've said it before, the more you align yourself with UAF scum, RSS hindu scumbags like verindra pundit sharma the more you'll drive more sikh youth towards the EDL. It may surprise you to learn most Sikh youth have a clear definition and understanding of what issues are affecting the Panth Right now, parties and peoples hidden agendas, and publicity hungry self proclaimed leaders who love making statements in the papers or 5 mins on the radio. it totally shows an inferiority complexity within Sikhs, that any point made is not affirmed unless its backed by another faith group, or party. 29. it beggars belief how dumb our people can be sometimes. Look.. lets rewind and go back to basics. EDL: Who are they? The are a MIXTURE of different schools of thought, united against the islamification of Britain and extremist forms of Islam which may pose a direct physical threat. There is a good percentage of genuinely concerned individuals, and also good percentage of racist thugs. UAF: Who are they? Supposedly anti-racists, but in the demos, mostly made up of Black and muslim street youth, aswel as militant Islamists. plus small percentage of hippy, tree huggers and genuine anti-fascists Ok so who do Sikhs support? Ermm.. well we do not want militant islam to rule us, but we also dont wanna get head butted by a skin head trying to kick us out of the country. How about we support NO ONE! Both of them pose a threat to some degree to Khalsa Priciples. Sit at home.. Gosh man, when we need Sikh support against beadbi or Sikh human rights, these guys arnt no where to be seen. And its so annoying when you politicians speak on behalf of Sikh youth, because you don't have a clue Turban Campaign- Why don't you collect those signatures against the Turban Ban in France?! That's a better suited and appropriately named campaign But saying all this, if I was forced to choose in favour of one parties, it would be EDL, Why? Because: - 90% of racist attacks I have seen on Sikh youth have been by Paks - All cases I have known of paedophilia groomed abuse of young Sikhs girls has been at hands of Pakistanis - Racist attacks at events, Gigs, Vaiskahi events, melas, eid have been by Pakistanis - Kidnap cases of Sikh girls by Paks. Those marginalised, frustrated Sikh youth, fed up with the system, Fed up with the Gurdwaras will find refuge with EDL. People like Gurmit Singh, and many others. The Turban Campaign will only push more of these people towards the EDL. It is stupid and dangerous. As Sikhs, we should stand for our own Agenda's.. We have good singh's doing sewa in these fields, who are helping victims, and highlighting issues. Support them, listen to them, understand the problem. Don't be a Publicity hungry Bandwagon fool!

  30. EDL is a recent phenomena which has gained alot of support from common goreh and few non whites in the UK. It is trying to go global. Naturally a movement of this type will attract large numbers of hate mongers and racists. However there is one side to this which is often overlooked. The increasing influence of militant islam needs to be put in check in the uk. Such organisations appear to slow down the progression of Islamicists such as Anjem Choudary the infamous Muslim cleric Nutcase. He has gone unchecked for years, allowed to say what he wants un-challeneged. Well not anymore, things are about to change. It provides good entertainment to see the two sides go at it. 1 thing i will say is if Sikh Leaders jointly condemn EDL... They should at least be more voiceful about their condemnation of Muslim clerics like Anjem Choudary. Commenting on recent groups is easy. How about the ones that have been around for years hate mongering? ALmahajaroon the organisation he leads. Then once it was banned in uk, he changed the name to Islam4UK. condemn these organisations openly and we will see less sikhs sympathising with EDL yobs.

  40. Hey Buddy, First of all I think its awesome that you haven't cut your hair yet. I am a white dude, and I can promise you that lots of those white dudes who may make fun of you are really just insecure about themselves. Why else would they mess with you? Your 14, its perfectly normal to feel awkward about yourself and want to change yourself. All the other kids in the class feel the same way, but just about different aspects of themselves. Cutting your hair would not make this go away... you would still need the latest clothes/the right little "click" of friends/etc. Also, you think shaving every day isn't a pain? Its a huge pain! If girls don't like your hair you should consider that a blessing. At your age you should focus only on school and success. Nothing else matters. Did you hear about that gursikh doctor who cant get a wife? Oh yea... he doesn't exist. I know its hard, but girls are a distraction right now... anything that keeps them away is a blessing. Also, any girl that would date while in high school is not worth your time. Be top of your class and get into a good school... excelling is much better than fitting in. You have been born into a beautiful religion, trust me. If you desert your heritage just to fit in, man you will regret it later. I see the kids at Gurdwara that keep kesh and I always think man, those guys may take a lot of crap now... but think about the strength of character they are building. That singh in your name is their for a reason, so earn it man. I got complete faith in you. Fateh! -W

  41. At the end of the day we all spend money on cloths, which ultimately go out of fashion or just wear out and end up in the bin. If your old enough and you buy a car you loose plenty of money on it daily due to depreciation. So even if you donate £100 (less than the cost of your designer jeans) or £20 (what you pay monthly for your mobile phone bill) you will have supported in giving the Academy a new lease of life. Even if the Academy gets into problems again your initial donation will not have gone to waste since so many additional youngsters would have benefited over that time. Just as when their is a world crisis such as the floods in Pakistan you don't ask what the country is going to do to stop it happening again you donate money in the hope that they will develop the infrastructure, since the immediate need is to help those in need. The Academy is doing good work I sense they have become victims of the banking crisis like so many other businesses who have had terms of their loan changed. Since I am sure the bank is treating the Academy as a business. Therefore to get a loan of over £1m and to have kept abreast of repayments for so many years must justify that there is a business plan in place. Also lets not forget they paid £150k of the sum requested before coming to the wider sangant. The bottom line is that we are not giving our own money but the money Guru Sahib has given us, all we need to do is open our hearts a little bit. As so many have said to you if you have questions phone the Sevadaar or go and visit them rather than posting negativity on this forum. The rest of the sangant I would urge you that rather than going out for a Pizza give that £10 to the Academy or delay getting your new computer game and give the £30 to the Academy. Every little does truely help.

  42. Dal Singh, you have an innate inability to read and understand what is written. Instead you draw absurd childish conclusions based on assumptions only to fuel more unnecessary replies and create long rubbish thread. As can be seen on most your other replies. I am not going to rebut what you said. because it is not worthy of it. But I will bullet point my argument, For the sake of other youth who may find it of use. As for you Bhaman style santa banta joke. We will deal with this on another occasion, as I'd avoid a spectacle on the net for all to see. Far better to sit down and discuss your attitude in person. * As Sikhs we need to weigh up the REAL threat of the EDL right now, We must be intelligent enough to understand who they are and not what the media proclaim them to be. Do they have valid points? I think so. Are they infiltrated by NF/BNP? more than likely. So far they have not shown any hostility to any other faith group. Unlike NF they have black and mixed members. They have valid points on Pakistani Gang grooming, sharia law, Islamification etc etc. These are very valid and have directly affected the Sikh community for the last 25 years. Many Sikh Families have suffered unspeakable hurt due to hard line islamic culture in UK. * Should Sikhs Support EDL? No, We should not align our selves with them, because as an overall outfit they contain fascist elements. Instead we should raise the points that we share with EDL on a separate platform as Sikhs alone. * UAF is a bogus group, full of hard-line Islamists, the same preachers who were at my uni preaching hate against Sikhs. These guys are proper scum, ex Al majaharoun, Real Khalifa lot. Now we got RSS types supporting them just because they think they are siding with the "good guys" for the sake of publicity. Our Sikh one band shows have done the same. * EDL have about 300 core members, rest are "fair weathered supporters". They marched around a few times and thrown a few bottles. I do not see them as a threat. But, those Sikhs that genuinely do, have every right to raise an anti-fascist campaign. But rather than siding with groups who have done, and potentially will do a lot more damage to the Panth, Stand with Sikhs alone. To me it shows an inferiority complexity within Sikhs, that any point made is not affirmed unless its backed by another faith group.

  43. Southall Youth and Sarabha Panjab's logic. Some Singh doesn't like the taste of Marmite + Verindra Sharma also doesn't like the taste of Marmite.... Conclusion: Damn!! The Singh must be an undercover member of RSS/BJP/Black cats/The Indian Congress Party etc. etc. and in cahoots with their agents as can be seen by their mutual open hatred of Marmite........ Balle balle twaday mundeyo......real life Banta/Santa Singh type characters. Who needs Hindus to make us look intellectually challenged huh?

  47. Personally I don't even think EDL has any 'cause'. Firstly, they blindly support British troops, who themselves just go where they are told and follow orders, regardless of the justice of the cause or not. I'm not saying all Muslims are angels, because they are not, but we should all know that soldiers have committed abuses on Muslim lands (especially American ones) and the recent invasions has resulted in far more deaths of innocent Muslims (including women and children) than British soldiers. So I'm not at all surprised that sullay protest against the soldiers and call them names. If the British soldiers were on Sikh land doing similar, I'd be protesting against them myself probably. Then you have that whole bull narrative by some ignorant whites here that their 'culture' is somehow under attack? This one is plain lies. No one stops white people drinking, 'shagging' around, learning the English language, cooking and eating English food, going to pubs, Morris dancing etc. So how is their 'culture' under attack? With grooming, we need to grasp that it is elements of the Pakistani community who have been targeting dimwitted Sikhs girls for this, not the ubiquitous 'Islam'. Now the Pakistanis may well be Muslims, but not all Muslims are like these particular Pakistanis. To make out otherwise is straight lying. Plus, as alluded to earlier, the real issue is more the westernisation of the Sikh girls in question that has them behaving more like white girls than Sikh girls in anycase. This is what makes them go off with Tom, Mick or Abdul. So we have a genuine complaint about the effects of white/English culture on our people they need to acknowledge. I tell you, you know when people are on dodgy territory when they are blaming some other group for everything, without taking anytime to reflect on how their own behaviour plays a part in the mess. EDL people embody this (as do some of our own lot). In the end, descending half drunk on towns, screaming E-E-E-EDL! trying to intimidate all and sundry is not fighting Islamist extremism but just typical white football yobbery lifestyle. No sane intelligent Sikh has any business to be in the middle of such nonsense in my opinion. If EDL want to protest, let them protest against their own government's warmongering first and foremost. But they wont, because they are mainly working class chavs who haven't got the balls to face their ruling classes. As for the problem of idiotic, naive, lust ridden, disloyal girls from Sikh backgrounds being groomed or converted. That is something the panth has to figure out how to resolve itself. No one is going to do it for us.
