  1. I don't know what it is, but whenever an event such as Bin Laden's death occurs (or 9/11 or any other man-made or even naturally-occuring event that resonates around the world) my insides keep saying "Thank God I'm a Sikh". It's very difficult to explain, lol. It's like I appreciate there are things happening in the world which aren't completely transparent for whatever reason. I'm reasonably sure our governments are up to something although I stop before I get to things like the Illuminati, etc., because I honestly don't know whether that kind of stuff is true or not. But like I was saying, I have faith in Sikhi and if the world is trying to deceive me or lead me down a blind alley, Sikhi will always be there to provide a path which is not corrupted or tainted. Difficult to explain but I'm feeling it today.

  2. A final note by myself on this topic. To all you young singhs and sikhs out there reading this, don't think by ignoring these attacks, your problems will go away. Once you are all grown up and well into your late twenties, early thirties, you may have escaped the sort of drama which goes on in and around school and college but what about your kids? I remember, after the riot of 97 when SP retailiated to the muslims from slough, once that blew over, thats about the time when sikhs started losing their reputation on the street. It just went downhill from there. Before this young punjabis were respected on the road by pakistanis, blacks and whites. When I was in school about 10 years ago now, i started hearing of sikhs getting beat, being ridiculed all over. A racist somalian who was pretty well known on the street in that area even said harsh words about singhs and was up for war with them. He said it in front of loads of people not just somalians. Now I'm not an advocate of violence but he should have been confronted by singhs and asked what his problem was. If it came down to violence then so be it. If there was unity, you wouldn't have fools like this ridiculing us and whatever. But there was no unity. Sikhs didnt back each other. I recall a couple of years back somalians attacked a singh on a bus in southall. Now you have black youth throwing chicken bones at a singhs turban in ilford and of course this attack on our brother by whites in southampton. The thing is, its not just from whites and pakistanis no more. Its blacks and i wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of years chinese start attacking us. Its got to stop and the only way is if you all get together and back each other up. Its a numbers game at the end of the day. A racist thug is not going to touch a singh if he knows that the next day there will be 20 to 30 angry singhs looking for him. But the thing is he knows this won't happen and so the drama continues............

  3. If you have concerns rather then air it first on a forum you should have first contacted the school and cleared up your concerns. The last thing we want is some hot-head phoning the school and causing trouble. The best way is to email the shcool in a very polite manner. From the webpages it looks like they were doing something is a very respectful way and most likely would have taken advice before they undertook this project.

  9. I have not seen even a single piece of Evidence/Proof - Photo/Video (Dead Osama Face shooted by US-Army; being Buried near sea etc.); US-Army is always equipped with state of the art Electronic Video Camera to shoot all Videos/Photos. Very strange and surprising - some day/some evening a declaration is made by the US highest authorities "Osama Is Now Shoot Dead"; and he was hiding in Pakistan - being saved by ISI-Pakistan. All Media join hands to publicise this - but no Evidences/Proof. Very very very strange. Who knows whether he was dead 5 years ago, 10 years ago OR such an entitiy even ever existed . Now what is the agenda next after declaring "Osama is dead" and he was hiding in Pak? HAS ANybody seen the movie "TERE BIN LADEN" .

  12. But my dear friend judging or condemning these men is what you are doing by passing down a dictate that orders these men to do away with the turbans. I hate people who pass decrees on others cos none of us is totally inncocent . I was walking along the road when i saw an uncleji with total kesh + beard intact riding his bike with his son in tow eyeing a bevy of Bibiyan passing by . Not that i dont eye the opposite sex uncontrollably and unknowingly sometimes. It is just that i have the earnestness to accept my faults on a public forum where i could be castigated for being so perverted . But let me assure you of my conscious which is still alive . We all know about babas in gurdwaras who say waheguru on 1 hand and indulge in graft and exploit bibiyan sometimes . Did you forget the attempt at Harmandir Sahib . Not to speak of the Babas managing gurdawaras and musafirkhanas who rule the places as if the places were their jagirs. These babas dont have the decency to talk to a needy person politely and feel that they have the mandate to decide whom to give the room to and whome to deny . I say this because according to tradition any one can go and and seek accomodation at a place where a nishan sahib stands .These people dont even know the significance of the Nishan Sahib . I have seen pious people who pray day and night , yet they speak ill of people behind their backs. Sorry for being extreme but I am just being realistic after my sins are less criminal . The above group also includes people who weigh others according to the wealth that others possess.

  16. Hello Bir Ji, Below is a response from a previous post regarding Kiratpur, to a Brother who was curious as to the significance of the Holy place: Besides experiencing peace of mind upon witnessing beautiful gardens and heaven-like scenery, there is a sensation of ambrosial dew-drops that permeate the soul there. My Brother there is much historical significance related to the land of Kiratpur. At the location of Gurudwara Patal Puri, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, Sri Guru Har Rai Ji and the Mother of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Mata Nanaki were cremated there and their ashes were dispersed into the river as were Sri Guru Har Krishan Jis. The place in which the Gurudwara Charan Kanwal is today, used to be the home of a pandit named Peenju. He had heard from the villagers and from travelers that there is a Pir by the name of Nanak, who gives sight to the blind and speech to the dumb. In his heart the pandit had adopted Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji as his Guru, and had practiced prema-bhakti for his darshan. During their travels, Guru Nanak had come upon the home of Peenju and had blessed their bhagat. At that very spot Guru Nanak had begun kirtan with Mardana and had remained immersed in it for three hours until Mardana had stopped playing his rabab, which caused Guru Nanak to open their lotus eyes and question Mardana as to why he had stopped. Mardana said "either make me as thyself or at least ask if I am hungry once in a while". Guru Ji were very pleased with his innocent answer and had blessed him with the sound of the unstruck melodies. After Mardana had remained immersed in the anhad shabad for hours, Guru ji lay their hand on top of Mardanas head and had brought his consciousness back to its normality. Mardana had praised His Guru and had tried to explain the overflow of bliss he had experienced. Mardana had then asked Guru Ji the significance of this land as he had had experienced such celestial fortune upon it. Guru Nanak being pleased with his question had said that "you are my sevak and I will not hide anything from you." Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji went on explaining that "In the coming years when I assume my 6th form I will construct this land and name it Kiratpur. This place had been an oasis of penance in satjug where many Rishis and Munis had meditated. Also, underneath this sacred land flows the Ganges waters of the netherworld." Guru Ji went on saying "Vashisht, the master of Ramchander had spent many years meditating here and the kingdom of Bali, the Charitable King from Satjug was also located at this very spot." Upon hearing this Mardana was in wonderment and had praised his Guru. Gurudwara Patal Puri was constructed by Sant Darbara Singh Ji of Lopon. When Sant Ji had returned to India from England, many English folk were intrigued by his discourse on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and had decided to come with him and witness the sacred temples and Gurudwaras. Upon reaching Kiratpur Sahib the Englishmen were told of the significance of Kiratpur of how ashes of the deceased are poured into the river, but the English were astonished at the fact that why such a holy place had not been constructed and why it lays amidst jungle and forest. After hearing the disappointment in their voices Sant Ji had witnessed the parthak darshan of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. Understanding this vision as a sign to commence construction of the Gurudwara, Sant Ji had announced the plans to construct Gurudwara Patal Puri to the Sangat, in Ludhiana on the 18th of May, 1976. The Jathedar of the S.G.P.C.at that time was Mohan Singh Turh, who was called to Lopon to pass the regulatory provisions in order to begin construction. This Gurudwara was constructed and was given to the sangat and S.G.P.C. upon completion. I am aware of these facts as my grandfather who is still alive was one of the chief sevadars in construction of the Gurudwara. Inside the Gurudwara there is a list of some of the chief sevadars who were involved in the construction. The very first name on the list is my grandfather's, Karnail Singh.

  20. Shaheed Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh Goldy Shaheed Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh Goldy The number of accounts of bravery by those of young age found in the Sikh history cannot be found in the history of the rest of the world. The struggle, started by Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale against the oppressive Hindu government contains the accounts of great martyrs of youthful age who accomplished many great tasks. Of these young martyrs, the name of Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh Goldy is one of the most outstanding and unforgettable. Bhai Sahib was born on August 29, 1972 to Bibi Kashmir Kaur and eminent journalist from the city of Amritsar, Sardar Mohinder Singh. His family was doing very well financially during his childhood. During his early years, Goldy had been very fond of playing with toy weapons. At that time, Goldy perhaps had not known that he would have to play with these very same toy weapons but in their real form. Arvinderjeet Singh also had two younger brothers by the names of Kuljinder Singh and Arvinderjeet Singh. Goldy had obtained his primary education from Sultanvind Village School. Then until the 10th grade, he attended the eminent school in Amritsar named Sant Singh Sukha Singh Senior Secondary School, Mal Road. Goldy completed grade 11 and 12 at the Government Senior Secondary School in Town Hall, Amritsar and for his college education, he enrolled at Khalsa College Amritsar. During that time, the state of Punjab was facing the wrath of the Indian Army in the form of Operation Blue Star. Even after Operation Blue Star, the state of Punjab still had to face the rage of the Indian Government's security forces. During Operation Blue Star, Goldy was about 11 or 12 years of age. At the age of 12, Bhai Avinderjeet Singh was given the gift of Amrit from the Panj Piyareh. Operation Blue Star had hurt the sentiments of all Sikhs worldwide. Goldy's psyche was also very deeply affected by the events that took place during Operation Blue Star, and he was disturbed to hear that many Hindus had celebrated the attack on Harmandir Sahib. The events after the assassination of Indira Gandhi had just added fuel to the fire that was burning inside of Arvinderjeet Singh. After hearing of Sikh women being raped and Gurdwaras being desecrated all across India by fundamentalist Hindus, Goldy's anger jumped to a completely new level. Goldy posted some handmade posters on the doors of known Hindu fundamentalist, which read: "The Sikhs are not dead, they are still alive… …and you will find out about this very soon… …we will take account of every life taken…" While attending school, Goldy began making contacts with the Sikh freedom fighters. One eminent freedom fighter said to Goldy, "Mohinder Singh is already doing enough seva…what do you want from these things…and how old are you anyway…?" Goldy left that meeting place without saying a word, but later he wrote a letter to the above-mentioned Sikh freedom fighter that said: "Who are you to put age limits on who can join the struggle…? What age were Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sons when they became martyred…?" Arvinderjeet Singh's entire family had the same viewpoints of Sant Jarnail Singh, yet they did not agree with him joining the Sikh freedom struggle. Once his mom said: "…Goldy, you are so good looking… and the army is now stationed in Punjab; let a few days pass by…" Goldy's swift response was, "…did you give me this handsome appearance? Why are you afraid to give it back to the one who gave it to me…?" He would always say, "I had offered my head to Guru Sahib at the age of 12 when I took Amrit, now it is Guru Sahib's wish when he will accept my head…" Now Goldy was secretly doing a lot in support for the Sikh freedom struggle, but he was still in contact with his family. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh's nickname within the circle of freedom fighters was Bhai Mehtab Singh Dheera 'Amritsari', Lt. General 'Khalistan Liberation Army'. Once Goldy's mother brought some parshad in the form of mango slices from Baba Takhur Singh and handed them to Goldy saying: "Here take this, may God give you good sense…" Giving those mango slices back to his mother, Goldy said: "You take them! May God give you some confidence and may you happily send your son to join the struggle…" Later Goldy's mother began talking of having an Akhand Path at their home and he put forward some questions to her: "What is the point of having an Akhand Paath…do you follow the message of any Shabads…? Tell me to this day which message of any Shabad have you followed…?" His mother began thinking. Goldy then asked, "Have you listened to the tapes of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji…?" "…Yes…" his mother answered. "So many Singhs are being martyred…have you sent your son…?" Goldy asked. His mother had no answer for these questions. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh would often say that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's soul is probably asking, what kind of people are these Sikhs, they still have not brought Bhajan Lal 'Bhajna' to justice. Shaheed Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh Goldy Goldy had not yet even grown a full moustache but his bravery was very well known in the entire area and still is. At night in the Sultanvind area, the security forces would setup numerous checkpoints. One day Goldy was walking alone over Sultanvind canal bridge with an AK-47 rifle in his hand and entered the open area in a village. In the darkness, the policemen at one checkpoint challenged Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh. Goldy opened fire on the policemen manning the checkpoint with his AK-47 rifle. After firing for some time, Goldy tricked the policemen, returned home and went to sleep while the policemen kept firing on the empty ground. In the same manner one day before sunset, Goldy was riding his bicycle on the Jalandhar G.T. Road while carrying an AK-47 rifle. One government leader was traveling on the road along with his bodyguards and upon seeing them, Goldy opened fire on their car. Security forces stormed the area taking up positions and began firing but by that time, Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh had already reached his home and was eating Mango 'murabaa'. It is said that at the time Goldy had reached home, the security forces were still blindly firing at some unknown target. In college, Goldy would get his attendance taken, then leave school, and head for the villages. If some freedom fighters would do something that would turn the people away from them, Goldy would become very worried about these incidents and do whatever he could to keep the people supporting the freedom movement. One day in the village of Sehinsra some freedom fighters called for a strike, they asked that all businesses shut down for the day. One milkman who disobeyed the call was beaten up, upon hearing of this, Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh went to meet him and said, "I can not return your blood that was spilt but here keep this money." Goldy said this while handing the milkman 500 rupees that he had received from his parents for buying his schoolbooks. When the milkman heard these words from Goldy all his complaints about the freedom fighters were dispelled and he said, "We don't read any newspapers… if we did we would personally be taking part in this strike…" Once after a meeting, Goldy along with two of his armed friends stopped at someone's house to get something to drink. The owners of the home prepared some warm milk for Goldy and his friends to drink. While the three of them were drinking the warm milk, the owner of the home came and sat down next to them. He began indirectly saying that he would like to have the person who is having a land dispute with him to be eliminated. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh stayed quiet the whole time while drinking his milk and listened to the homeowner. After finishing his milk Goldy washed his hands and pulled out a 20 rupees and while handing it to the homeowner he said: "Brother, here take this money if you want something in exchange for the milk you gave us…but if you think that for this milk we will kill an innocent man then you are mistaken." Feeling ashamed, the homeowner handed the money back to Goldy. On his way out, Goldy began explaining to the homeowner: "If you consider the freedom movement to be legitimate then give up the idea of having the freedom fighters settle your personal scores because if we eliminate one guilty person then hundreds will become ready to join the movement but if we eliminate one innocent person then hundreds of people will distance themselves from it…" The homeowner nodded his head in agreement and Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh and his fellow freedom fighters walked out of the house. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh was arrested twice by the police but they were unable to get any information from him. Bhai Sahib was really surprised on how when the pictures of Sikh martyrs would be printed in the newspaper, the Singhs' hair would always be open. He thought that maybe the police were disrespecting the Singhs by purposely removing their turbans and opening their hair. Goldy would tie his keski very tightly and say, "You will see that after I am martyred and my picture is printed in the paper, my hair will not be open…and see at that time the bullets will even hit me in the chest…" Bhai Goldy put his heart into the work he did for the Sikh freedom movement. When some innocents would be killed in villages and the Sikh freedom fighters were blamed by government sources, Goldy would go to the area and find out who was the actual culprit and let it be known to the villagers. Then came the day of June 10, 1992, on this day many Sikhs active in the freedom movement had gathered in the village of Malowal (close to Ajnala) in the Majha area, and Goldy also attended this meeting. After the conclusion of the meeting, Goldy was getting a ride to the bus station from another Singh on a bicycle. While traveling they came to a checkpoint, which was manned by five soldiers of the Indian Army. Upon reaching the checkpoint, Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh and the Singh who was giving him a ride were stopped by the soldiers. The soldiers forwarded to begin searching both Singhs. Goldy pulled out his 455 bore revolver from his pocket in a lightening fast movement and began firing on the soldiers. He shot 3 of the soldiers dead and left the other 2 wounded. Goldy knew that a patrol of soldiers would come running to investigate the sound of gunfire so he began pulling on one of the dead soldiers guns, but it would not budge as the soldier had used a chain to tie it to himself. While Goldy was struggling with the gun, an army jeep on patrol had approached his position but still Goldy kept trying to get the gun into his possession. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh then dropped the soldier and took up a position behind a dirt mound in the field next to the road. Goldy only had one remaining bullet in his revolver and fired that at the soldiers in the jeep. In response to Bhai Goldy's firing of a bullet, the soldiers martyred this great warrior of such a young age by opening fire from their LMG machine gun and filled his chest with bullets. Martyr Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh's hair did not open up nor did his turban come off. He also took the bullets straight in the chest. Goldy stayed true to his word in the end. Kirpal Singh, the one who was taking Goldy to the bus station was caught alive by the army soldiers. In the nearby fields, some female workers told of Goldy's fate and his martyrdom at the hands of the Indian soldiers. They said that the soldiers talked amongst themselves about what people will say when they see that a mere child is responsible for the killing of three soldiers from the Indian Army. To make this seem like an encounter, they also killed Kirpal Singh on the spot and falsely announced that two terrorists have been killed. Bhai Arvinderjeet Singh's mother became an example for all Sikh mothers when not even one teardrop came from her eyes during her son's funeral. From the soil where Goldy's blood drenched, certainly one day from that soil the crop of freedom shall grow for the Sikh Nation as every drop of that sanctified blood went for the mission of liberating the Sikh Nation. 21. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ Recognize the whole of human race as one Who sees every human being as one? Who says Women, Men, Children, Religiouse people, non religiouse ppl, rich ppl, poor ppl, black..white..brown ppl,ppl who are comming from different casts/background, are same for me, cause i see in every single human being gods light? In my opinion we should all come back to our mission to provide Sikhi values and to get more and more friends and supporters of Sikhi. Once we got the Sardari from Guru Gobind Singh ji, but we lost that Sardari. And I believe personaly we are not able to call our self Sardar, because for what our Sardari stands for today? In todays age where we suffer problems in all over the countries in the world, why dun we start to get all People/ Sikh Groups/ Nirmales / Udasis etc together who either believed once in Guru Nanak Dev ji to Guru Granth Sahib ji or are still following the Path The video i just found on the internet.... Maybe a starting or what you guys think? Bhul Chuk Maaf

  25. Sikh Anand Kaaraj and Homosexuality ~ [OP-ED] March 21, 2011 by The Sikh Times, UK Source: www.emgonline.co.uk Edited by Tinderjit Lalli: It’s amazing how sometimes Sikhs surprise everyone! Recently I came across this article written by Suringer Singh from Springfield VA, that was posted on the Sikh news website. I applaud the writer for his ability and vision to address such a sensitive topic. Anand Kaaraj, as it literally means, is an event of bliss. What a beautiful name Guru Ramdas chose for the Sikh wedding ceremony. The stage of Anand is defined by Guru Amar Das in the Baani of Anand Sahib. Almost all the shabads documented in Sri Guru Granth Sahib refer to this stage of Anand, which explain how to achieve and retain bliss. As far as marriage is concerned, Guru Amar Das also defined the concept in the following Shabad: Third Mehla: They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together. They alone are called husband and wife, who have one Light in two bodies. ||3|| Marriage in Sikhism is not merely a social contract, it is the foundation of a Sikh’s spiritual life. Laavaan, the four verses read at the time of marriage are not just metaphors or some mantras to chant. These verses are four stages of life. To understand it further we need to understand the basic behavior, the basic instincts of men and women. A man, as nature intended it to be, was the hunter, a provider for others following his shadow, and thus responsible for providing a means of living for his family. A woman, as nature intended it to be, offers him love, support and care in return. This is where life started. A Lion may spend all his life in the cage with goats and sheep next to him, but will never eat grass. That’s his basic instinct, his natural behavior. An elephant may spend years with lions and tigers, but will never eat flesh. Men left hunting and became farmers, became businessmen or became kings, but the role didn’t change. They were to provide, and to do so they were to work in some form to earn living. Another basic behavior a man has is his pride in his work, his position in society and his assets. A woman has her pride in her home, in her children and in her husband’s pride. By nature a man is physically stronger, more practical, less emotional, more focused and a big dreamer. By nature, a woman is delicate (not so much physically, but generally compared to a flower), more emotional, less practical, a big dreamer but not focused. These are general assumptions which might not apply to all, but majority of the time they do. Let’s join these two pieces together. Sri Guru Granth Sahib’s teachings indicate that in order to attain the stage of bliss a Sikh needs to complete and tune his mind with the source, Waheguru. And the way is to merge the soul into the source, the husband Lord, the way a man and woman blend with each other after taking the vow in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the ceremony of Anand Kaaraj. This is the purest form of a relationship where the woman says: “I found all other relationships to be false and temporary so now I am going to hold your palla (metaphor used for commitment).” She sings, “I shall not leave your side, you are my true support.” The Anand Kaaraj is the ultimate example of merger of two bodies, two minds and two souls. It is an ultimate example of giving. It is a stage where two sides meet and become one. And yet this is just the beginning of a new journey where he is to learn from her how she loves, how she cares, how she keeps the home, how she looks after children, and to once in a while play those roles. It will be safe to say that 60-65% of shabads in Sri Guru Granth Sahib refer to this relationship, where Guru Sahib referred to Waheguru as Husband Lord and the Sikh as the soul bride. When a Sikh man or woman dies the Sohila Sahib baanee is recited. The first few lines of this baanee is actually like a wedding song where a soul bride is telling everyone to bless her and greet her because finally the day had come when she is going to meet her Husband Lord. We recite that baanee every night before sleeping as a reminder that one day we will be meeting our Husband Lord and we shall prepare ourselves for the same. Oh yes, I know the time has changed. But I haven’t seen a lion eating grass yet. I haven’t seen a goat eating flesh yet. I am failing to understand that where the same sex union culture fits into this concept. We are not to judge people born with incapacities, without privilege or suffering due to a natural cause. I will be happy to accept homosexuals in the gurdwara trying to uplift themselves, but I will certainly have issues with a gay Sikh sitting there. Why? It is a behavior someone has “chosen” to live with just like someone chose to cut his or her hair, drink limitlessly or become involved in some other deeds not accepted in our society. In the end we can all request Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to bless us with Gurmat, HIS Wisdom and Light our way to stand up and say no to this culture so tomorrow our children and generations to come don’t wander in this darkness. NOTE: Commentaries are the opinions of the authors, and not necessarily that of The Sikh Times and/or SikhNet.com. Our thoughts in posting this article (which is clearly labeled OP-ED) was simply to show how prejudiced some people still are regarding this topic. SikhNet has posted numerous articles and a video on this topic as well. It's good to promote discussion, but SikhNet IN NO WAY endorses anything this author says. In fact, it was posted as an example of how far we still need to go. It seems though that people feel that SikhNet supports such an old-fashioned position. In that case, I'm happy to pull the article, since a lot of people seem to have misunderstood. If the majority want it pulled, We'll consider it a failed attempt and pull it. 26. I just wrote another post to you so im copy and paste it. Whether homosexuality is an attraction, kaam, or sexual instinct, Gurmat say don't follow any of these animal ways and follow the Guru's Path. Also, how can you speak on what they need? How if they need two partners to satisfy their attractions. For homosexual people, you and the rest that support this manmat practices want to satisfy their attration toward the same sex, so why are you not allow the same equal rights to the bisexual people? Again Anand Karaj is not about what a person is sexually attracted too. Read Gurbani and get kaam and sexual instinct out of the mind. This is one of the fouces of a Sikh, when they love Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj. For hermaphrodites? Let's take a teaching of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj and apply it here. When the Khalsa was finalized he gave Singh and Kaur as a last name? Ask the hermaphrodites what his last name is and you'll have your answer.

  28. Then how can you allow homosexual marriages? What many of you don't get is that the Anand Karaj marriage is not based on what the person is attracted too. What the Gurus does and what Sikhs can do is completely different. Can you wear a Kalgi and sit on a Palki? Can a Sikh be worshipped as Sri Waheguru ji

  29. So you would allow bisexual people to get married twice in Sikhi and have a polygamous marriage?

  30. Listen to Sant ji's Katha, when some very ignorant people say some very foolish things, to get the point across he wakes the person up with loud words. Hes not aggressive or violent, but is telling the person you are being a complete moorakh. But to get Sant ji's view on this, then listen to the interview where he speaks about where some beymukh people back then were saying to let the woman walk infront for two lavan in the Anand Karaj. People on here would say Gurbani (Sikhi) would not speak on who would walk infront, but Sant ji gave these beymukh people a response with lines from Gurbani. Sant ji said that according to Gurbani a woman cannot walk infront. Now lets take this and apply it here. Say someone put this homosexual question forward to Sant ji after hearing the above answer, what do you think his response would be? Sant ji said Gurbani say no to a woman in being infront for the Anand Karaj, what makes people think he will say yes to homosexual marriages? Who would be the woman to walk in the back? Who would walk infront and who would walk in the back. Who would give the lar and who would hold on to it. And then you will get the Gurbani lines that speak on this matter. First he'll slap you couple of times metaphorically and then give you the Gurbani lines. The reason why Sant ji would give you a strong response is because, Sikhi is above all human instincts and desires. Gurbani speaks about this stuff and hes going to be like, this person has a Dastar on, a big kirpan, Bana and this is what this person is worried about. He would know right away that your focus is not Sri Waheguru ji.

  31. Sikhi is in trouble, if this is how majority of the people think. Akal Purakhs fauj is above physical attractions. Akal Purakh fauj is attracted to one thing in this world. The Gursikhs in the past were completely attracted to Akal Purakh. Akal Purakh was not just their spouse, but their life, their water, their food, their breath of life, their way of life. How can you be attracted to or repulsed to something else when your in love with Akal Purakh? Akal Purakh fauj is neither heterosexual or homosexual or any other sexual orientation. They follow the commands of Akal Purakh their one and only. Gursikhi is an immortal way of life.

  33. Okay, if you want to have this discussion. Then please tell me what homosexuality or any other sexual orientation is based on? Also tell me what Sikhi Anand Karaj is based on. What is the main focus of the Anand Karaj?

  34. Go to sikhi to the max type in sexual instinct and see what shabads come up. Read them and come to understanding based on Gurbani. A quick reminder for everyone, this is a Sikh forum where Sikhi is held as the highest authority. Not your own personal so called common sense views.

  35. Well consider Gurbani the play books and the players and the field and the wild football that can be thrown in any direction. Only with Gurbani, you know the play book for the other team and yours. So that football that can be thrown in any direction by the qb is actually easily discovered because you have the other teams play book. Also you have a very good idea where the other teams receivers are going to be and who is a stronger receiver to get the football than others. There is no wild cards, when it comes to Gurbani.

  36. Can I ask why this is being brought up. How is this related to what the topic is?

  37. What does Maharaj say about sexual instinct? Here is a hint. Read Sri Sukhmani Sahib da paat. Also what would you do for the bisexual people when they start crying to you that they are living a style of Gurmat by having two partners for each person? Are you going to allow polygamous marriages? And they can 'justify' their stand, just the way you 'justified' homosexuality. Marriage in Sikhi is NOT based on sexual instinct.

  38. WRONG some paedophiles do have the consent of children, many female teachers who have been caught having relationships with younger male students have had the students consent, how is that different from homosexuality, and why is incest wrong when brother and sister both consent?...in no way do i support incest but im just failing to see how incest and paedophilia are so different from homosexuality?

  39. Yes, Sex is natural, Lust, Ego, Attachment and Anger are all natural instincts of human beings. They are Maya. A screen put forward by waheguru to sepaerate the Godly from the ungodly. These evil instincts are very hard to overcome which is why only a few enjoy that blissful union with waheguru. For you to claim a little lustful pleasure with your wife is ok in the eyes of god because its natural tells me only one thing..your a man who loves the Maya, the illusion more than he loves the ultimate reality which is waheguru. Using your logic is it alright to be angry , be attached to material things, be egotistical. No!! Why? Because those are the ways of the Manmukh who follows his own Manmat instead of obeying the Hukum of waheguru...Its very irritating when people bring their stupid beliefs and use sikhi to support them..We call know where sikhi stands on Lust, so no point twisting gurmat for your own use...If you want to have a Active Lustful Sex life with your wife...Go ahead but dont you dare use sikhi to support it!

  40. I'm add one thing. One mistake that heterosexual marriage couples make after the Anand Karaj is they believe Guru Sahib has given them the right to indulge in kaam. Due to this mistake, then the homosexuals say why can't I do the same. And those that are advocates of homosexuality say the samething to support homosexuality. The heterosexual couple act as if now they can do whatever they want. This is not true. Satguru says where the mind has the presence of Kaam, there is no Naam (rememberance of Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj) in that mind. Satguru has never in Gurbani given any sexual orientation the righ to indulge in kaam. Satguru gave us the right to procreate. If you are focused on Sri Waheguru ji then kaam will not enter your mind and their is no need to have this discussion of homosexuality. Sikhs are above all these worldly ways. Homosexuality and heterosexuality and rest of the sexual orientations get in the way of remembering Sri Waheguru ji. The Gurus knew, once people start devoting themselves toward Gurbani, then they will automatically focus on the Guru's way. But look at what Sikhnet is up too. They have drifted a billion miles away from Guru's path in all sense because they entered into promoting sexual orientations.

  41. Sikhnet is being very cunning here. Here I'll explain for those that have not kept up with this issue happening on Sikhnet. It has probably been 3 weeks since Sikhnet put up a video where Guruka Singh directs disrespect at Gurmat. If you listen to how the question is phrased and the answer given by Gurmstukhs counterpart Guruka Singh, you will realize they are not representing the Gurmat side in a true manner and are holding biased views for homosexuality. Sri Akal Takht Sahib has dealt with this issue and said Gurmat is not for it. But in the video Guruka Singh goes against Gurmat and say homosexuality is not an issue for Sri Akal Takht (ulutimately saying Sikhi has no right to talk on this issue), but it is a human issue. There are many things wrong with this remark and one of them being, Guruka Singh is saying Sikhi does not speak on all issues. This right here is an insult directed at Sikhi. Then Gurmstukh says that people look at homosexuality as not correct or the norm because it is not the dominant way in the world and is against a our(Sikhs) lifestyle. Guruka Singh justifies homosexuality by saying there is homosexual giraffs and other animals in the world. So he belittles the Gurmat teachings too some animal ways. Again Guruka Singh has disrespected Gurmat to prove homosexuality is right in Sikhi. here is the video: http://www.sikhnet.c...lity-being-sikh Regarding this article I posted above. The agenda for Sikhnet here is to show that Gursikhs that are against homosexual Anand Karaj are using illogical reasoning. Watch the video and Guruka Singh is completely biased against Gurmat. And then this article is to show that Gursikhs have no reasoning, other than illogical reasoning to show why homosexual Anand Karaj are not allowed. Sikhnet needs stop their distorted ways and need to start acting truthfully when it comes to this and stop being arrogant people.

  47. Gurufateh bro vasay the two choices you made are pronounced he same way n they have the same meaning just the spelling is different that is case of the rules of grammar the first word ends with a kanna (aa) sound- vowel so the aira (aa) sound constanant is not needed Amrita Mrit this is made when the words Amrita and Amrita combine Amrits = Amrita an example in english would be the coumpound word fulfilled this is a mixture of full and filled full+filled= fulfilled note that the word full has two ls but one is dropped thats cause of grammar same thing with the aira if fulfilled was spelled fullfilled it would sound the same same concept here amrita means eternal, ever lasting, one who can nver die or be destroyed one who is forever - hope this helps bro

  48. I understand what you are saying singh, but this man took many many innocent lives. The only person who has the right to forgive him are his victims, and they are all dead and cannot give him forgiveness. Its like if I robbed you, and some other guy said its ok Wales.. I forgive you. He would have to right to forgive me, because he would not have been wronged... So, for all the victims of this monster I hate him, and I say may he burn in hell. If I show compassion towards this man, then I spit in the face of all the good men and women who he killed. It is actually immoral for me to not desire justice for his victims. If he wants compassion, let him ask it from God and his victims in the afterlife.

  49. doesnt sound right at all tho. this has been the governments number 1 priority for the past 10 years. the amount of money spent on finding this 1 person, the amount of time spent on research, the types of people hired for various needed jobs in the afghan-pakistan boarder, the level of threat raised over the years with the responcibility of this 1 person, all while being world famous with a 25 million dollar bounty for either dead or alive. THEN! when this 1 person is found, attacked, discoverd dead from the attack, body is rushed away and buried at sea, all within 24 hours time period? whats the big rush for when you have spent the last 10 years trying to piece together the puzzle, then when you have the puzzled solved, you dump it in the sea?? 10 years of work completely wiped out within 24 hours? does that make any sence?? and the reason for the rush body drop off at the big blue sea is because the us army wanted to show respect to islamic religious traditions? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? since when is the army worried about islamic religion? what about all those innocent kids killed during the past 10 years due to predator drone attacks? fire fights that took place in villages in broad day light?? mass killings of entire populations of citys, entire populations villiages, wiped out with bombs droped from above, what about all those innocent civilians killed in line of fire in afghanistan? what about the 300,000 muslims killed in iraq since 2003? did the army feel the need to observe any islamic tradition while being in iraq? while being in afghanistan? the number of muslims killed due to torchure recieved from army, did those victims get any islamic traditions performed at the last minute?? how long did us hold saddam before handing him back to iraqi forces??? how long did us hold p.o.w's before releasing them?? how long did they hold suspected terriorist from accross the globe???, let alone the ones that are still being held in GITMO. pictures of saddam are releases, death video of saddam released, pictures of sheikh khaled mohummad who is alqeada # 3, pictures of zawakari from iraq released, pictures of other top al qeada memebers releases upon being cought or found dead, pictures from the muslims being torchored at abu ghraib jail releases, pictures of various warlords from tribal region of afghan-pakistan boarder released. osama is cought, found dead after an attack specfically designed to target him, and not a single picture?? how is this possible? the one person who everybody is pointing the finger at, the one person who is beign blamed for 9/11, the one person is being at the center of terror around the world, and when finally cought dead, he is erased off the face of the earth within less then 24 hours? TOTAL B.S.
