It is disgusting for me to see news articles, where there are reports of Sikh Bodies, including the official parliament of Sikhs - SGPC, requesting Indian President to interfere in the capital sentence of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, and grant clemency to him. But I have a very strong objection to the use of word – “Clemency”. Clemency means the forgiveness of a crime or the cancellation (in whole or in part) of the penalty associated with it. Hence, by asking for Clemency, these bodies are agreeing to the inferred statement that what Balwant Singh did was indeed a crime, which is absolutely not right. Instead, we are failing the great legend, who has stuck to his ground for last 7 years, that what he did was absolutely right; because Beant Singh was a murderer, and no less evil than the likes of Kony and Gaddafi. Beant Singh was responsible for overseeing the mass killing of Sikhs and was responsible for giving police officers such as KPS Gill (known as ‘The Butcher of Punjab’), SSP Sumedh Saini, SSP Mohammad Izhar Alam (leader of the infamous Black Cats) and others a free reign to run operations that deliberately targeted the civilian population of Punjab. The suicide operation conducted by Balwant Singh & Dilawar Singh put an end to a decade long period of State Organized killing of Sikh youths (almost 50,000 Sikhs were killed in fake ‘encounter’ killings, brutal torture, illegal detention, and mass rapes). What is even more inspiring, and mark of personal integrity and spiritual strength is that he has never asked Indian Government for Justice. He had even refused to hire a lawyer, because he does not believe in Indian Judicial System. He has openly called for the death penalty recognising it as the only form of justice available to him under the Indian legal system. And, is he irrational or wrong? No, because the State that organises and sponsors Sikh genocides to teach Sikhs a lesson, and rewards the Sikh mass murderers (read Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler) who were the perpetrators of the 1984 genocide, with plum government posts and state protection has absolutely failed in its duties towards its citizens, and is not worth asking justice for.

Hi all, I badly need some help here! I'm dating a guy who shares the same goth as me. I tried asking around to my relatives and so, they said its not right because we are siblings. I don't get it, how are we siblings when we come from a different pind (village)? On the other hand, my brother in law tells me there is no such thing written in our Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.. I'm really confused on What is What!! Will I be going against our Guruji's teaching if I continue with this relationship? Please advise me and give me more information regarding this matter. Just one day of global Panthic unity and bandh all over Punjab caused the President of India to put a hold on Bhai Sahib's hanging. Khalsa jee, pause and think over this. Just ONE day when the world saw us united, we brought them on their knees. Imagine what we can achieve if we pledge to stay united forever! Initial reports said that sharp-edged weapons like swords, knives and rods were used in the clash at around 12.15pm in Arya Samaj Chowk within the walled city after a few youths objected to provocative slogans raised by a group passing through the area in a procession. Both groups clashed in the thickly populated and congested area, where police were deployed in large numbers. Both groups also pelted each other with stones for a few minutes. The warring groups also damaged a few private vehicles parked in the area. Police resorted to cane-charge to disperse miscreants from the spot. Reports said the situation continued to be tense in the city, with lesser people venturing out on the roads. Patiala SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill told Hindustan Times from the spot that the situation was under control. The name of a potential Sikh homeland should come from our glorious history and mythology; something that has been mentioned in our scriptures, etc., much like the Jews and Israel. What about Begampura? It has a great history behind it and could be used to explain to any non-Sikhs (and some Sikhs I'd imagine) what Begampura was. Like Kopsingh said Khalistan has been stigmatised by the Indian government, and I'm sure all the uncles and sons of the uncles who've shouted themselves blue in the face shouting "Khalistan Zindabaad" over the years won't like to relinquish the name 'Khalistan' so easily. Personally I'd stay away from anything containing 'stan' full-stop. People residing in western countries have cottoned onto the fact that countries which have 'stan' in their name have large Islamic populations and we don't want any confusion on that front. Khalkhand? Panjkhand?

It seems like Punjab sarkar advised police officals across state to act cool and keep low profile and they seriously do not want underestimate the power of sikh unity behind bhai rajoana. I am glad not see pusedo sold-out leaders in above marches. However, i have to thanks akal takht for calling such bandh; without them this show of unity wouldn't probably be possible. Also, keep it mind that all punjabi sikhs are of same blood. There were times when both Bhai rajoana and bhai dilawar were also working for Punjab police. The police we see on road are of low rank officials just like bhai rajoana (i believe he was constable). Anyway, point is that blind hate won't do anything good but instead unity will bring all such lost brothers back with under kesri nishaan sahib. It is just matter of time (sooner or later), they will realize the truth. The higher level officals are the one who made and keep making grave decisions when it comes dealing with Sikh kaum.

I Just came back home after taking part in the protest. Around 1 lac Sikh Sangat including children, Bibiji's and many other took part in it. Everyone was Hailing out loud Khalastan Zindabaad infront of high level police officers of Punjab. The Qaum has awaken...... RaJ KaReGa KhAlSa !!

Please try to understand the consequences what some Sikh leaders are asking for Bhai Rajoana in their mercy appeal . Quite a few of them are asking that his death penalty be converted into life imprisonment. Please understand that under the present situation Government of India and Pumjab Political Parties would also like to do that – all they want is support from the public. But why are those leaders not asking for acquittal and for setting him free? At present the Governments and the established parties of Punjab find themselves in very difficult situation. If they let Bhai Rajoana be hanged they are facing the possibility of rebellion. If they set him free, he is likely to gather tremendous support in which case the political influence of the well established large political parties of Punjab will be very much diminished. So, in their hearts they (political parties and the government) wish that the sentence be convert to life in imprisonment. In that case, it would be possible for the government to keep him in 8x8 ft. cell for rest of his life. Also, in making an appeal to the President , it is implicit that it is a petition asking for mercy, and the parties involved and named in the petition all have full faith in the judicial system of the country. But Bhai Rajoana has rejected that. That is why he has been asking all not to file an appeal (begging for mercy). It would have been much better if Badal had introduced a resolution in the assembly ( which he is reluctant-,perhaps fearing that free Rajoana will have more political influence than his party). Regarding the life imprisonment sentences in India, the sentencing law is carried over from colonial British India. That sentence means life in imprisonment till the prisoner dies of “natural” death. . Even though it has become that most of the time prisoner is let off after 25 years, after he shows remorse for his guilt and file a petition (asking for mercy). Looking at the stand that Bhai Rajoana has taken, it is unlikely that he will ask for mercy. So, those Jathevandies and Sikh leaders who are asking for converting the death sentence to life in imprisonment, should think again what they are saying (asking for). Ask for acquittal - Only acquittal. Ask for freedom for him - Only freedom for him.

Seeing how the Akal Takht Jathedar issued punishments against the likes of congressi Buta singh and co in the 80s, is it time that the current Jathedar summoned the Indian PM to ask why the likes of Kishori Lal can be have death sentences commuted and released then why not the various Singh languishing in in Indian prisons be released? Yes Bhai Sahib Rajoana Ji does not want anyone to plead and beg for his release but nothing stopping the Takht Jathedar from summoning PM Singh!

when baba ji were just 10 years old they were Brahmgiani, once Sri Maan 108 Sant Baba Jvala Singh were travelling ina persons car and the car stopped and wouldn'y go further. The driver said i can't understand why the car doesnt move. Harkovalvale mahapursh said there isa a Saint in this area we have gone by without greeting him. But just wanted to raise a issue might not have come to mind but it came to my mind today and so wanted to share it. Could we please make sure we still pay up most respect to sri nishaan sahib. We don't want our nishaan sahib to become a fashion item like our karas have become. We need be alert that we are flying our nishaan sahib therefore our actions our most important. Also if we have nishaan sahibs on our cars/houses etc as per Hukhum we need to know why. Especially it would like stupid if a individual got questioned about their nishaan sahib at the outside of their house but they couldn't answer such a simple question. Secondly its all good educating our own community but what about educating others? Maybe starting with educating the goreh etc we work/go school/uni with?. Find out were you can get leaflets from or print them off yourself and hand them out or put them on your notice boards. Sorry for the rant but felt reasonable and necessary to post this. WJKK WJKF Hopefully the tide is now turning and our heroics are starting to pay off..but its still early days, the mission is at the beginning and we as 'a community' must stand until we get the justice and bring to book the perpetrators who have unleashed and belittled our community. We must carry-on and strive to uphold the name of our brothers and sisters who have systematically been killed in the name of our religion... Can someone please tell me if we could find out how many nawjawan/brothers/sisters were being killed by fake encounters, killed in ambush-ordered to be killed by KP GILL, SAJJAN, TITYLER and the HINDUSTAN government? Could we go to each household in places like Gurdaspur, Amritsar, etc and find out from families if they have lost anybody...has this already been done?

simranpreet singh, Our guru jee started langar on floor for many reasons but main known reason is about equality. If you see important events such as games, shows, celebrity hosted events and in airlines etc you see they have different style of seating arrangement. Everything is divided into class system. They have luxury box for upper rich class during baseball games while plastic seats for working class. Our guru sahib maybe lived several hundred years ago which was different world back then but their practical teachings and maryada/rehits (code) validity never expires. Langar needs to be eaten while on floor because equality is being put in practice. All rich/poor, different races, nationality becomes ONE when they enter Gurdwara (Gurus house). The S.P from what I understand disbanded years ago (mid 90's) ,basically the guys started it off as a good thing and as they got older they got into legit bussinesses and bowed out but still had alot of sway among younger generations who carried it forward but they couldnt really live up to the standards of their predecessors also some started to misuse and abuse the name for own personal gains....ie sorting out personal feuds by using the name.Ive even heard of a well known old boy (whos name gets mentioned here in not too endearing terms) trying to control a Gurdawara........ As for members when you say 1200 those were the days when Dal Singh used to go around the country and alot of the youth used to sign up to monthly newsletters .So yes there may have been 1200 but the ones that were doing hits and excacting justice? ...probably around 100 ish now thats just speaking for Southall,Slough,East London...There was a good network in place but it could have been much better .Personal differences also got in the way....Have to agree with KopSingh (even if u support Scumpool)LOL... Old nungs and Smokes put their differences aside and formed into what was the S.P at that time (mid 90's) Slough lot didnt want anything to do them but at that time had some locals doing the hits and the origonal S.P from what I understand were old Donkeys and other lads from Handsworth ....Right I hope that clears that up...
