So coming back to your original questions to make it clear: As stated earlier, soul is not made to suffer, its only perceived that way in illusion but in fact - soul is our real self- what's made to suffer because of karams is antish karan/astral projection or astral body- made of (effected mind, consciousness/sub consciousness/intellect/ ahankar- ego), everything is stored there. Soul is supreme consciousness- atma-paratma/Vahiguroo, is giving nourishment to all as a witness/shakshi...thats the key because Soul is supreme consciousness that witness it all - its not some robotic/mechanical process. Soul does not wander in life and death as its timeless, but what suffers from life and death is astral projection and astral body also called- sukhsam sirar/ antish karan made (effected mind, consciousness/sub consciousness/intellect/ ahankar- ego), everything is stored there. I think author of this questions seems to confuse astral body with soul. Only - sat chit anand..!! Human being have three states: 1. Jagrath Avasthas- This state is awakened state. 2. Suapoun Avastha- This state is dream state 3. Sukhopat Avastha- This state is deep sleep state, where there is no suffering or any pain, no knowledge just thoughtless deep sleep state- mind stays in the root. Hence, why after being awakened from deep sleep state, one says- i had very good sleep- deep sleep. Englighten state without any suffering or pain is kind of like - thoughtless deep sleep state. However, major difference in englighten state that its thoughtless "Awareness" state and there is no risk of falling to normal state. Englighten being always stays in - thoughtless awareness state in deep meditation. Although englighten being while alive- have dual consciouness - one for worldy activity and other- thoughtless meditation. He/she is not attached with worldy activity, he is nirlaip(free) from illusion. His/her consciouness is advait(non dual). He/she consider everyone as god- sabh gobind hai sabh gobind hai. He expereince universal love fully advait(non duality- god is everywhere, god is in everyone including me) including this illusion world as supreme soul/god itself have created this play or matrix and people who realize its illusion or break the matrix able to see- world is just an thought just like wave(thought) coming out from the ocean for sometime it appears different or comes out but then it merges back in the ocean. Thanks for the response ji. It depends on perception at the moment of making love. One may not see it as :"fulfilling your desire" rather one may see it as - expression of love shown towards the other party and that supersedes the fulfilling the desire part. I meant you just gotta be honest with yourself, use it a test- how much of bhog you do? to full fill kaami desire?? and how much is it happening to show expression of love? Bhog itself have many aspects, oral stuff/sodomy is definitely - kaam- there is no way one can justify that. I know its quite personal for everyone, but at the end of day - you just gotta be honest with your self and use it a test and gauge your avastha. I be honest with sangat, there are times i do have bhog , and my perception itself during the bhog is quite kaami but there are times, during bhog my perception is more aligned with showing affection towards my partner and my perception is much more cleaner/serene and divine but be honest with yourself and you can tell the difference. Australia has become the first country in the world to do so. This is a historical moment for the Sikh Nation. I see a lot of answers on here saying things like this but let me guess - 1) your not married, 2) your some next level mahapurkh Me and my wife are Amritdhari and I spoke to some very chardi kala Gursikhs before I got married last year and they all said contraceptives were fine. You need love and intimacy in a relationship and it brings you closer together. If you are not planning on starting a family straight away, then use contraceptives. It is not failproof but it is the safest way to be intimate without starting a family.

Those are some marvellous explanations N30SINGH ji !!! I have thought about these concepts and explanations quite a lot due to some certain personal experiences. You defined the soul and consciousness quite well, although I somehow concluded that it was more of the 'Consciousness' I think that the 'consciousness' does Not itslf live in 'time' as only our physical sareer does. Therefore this consciousness is ALWAYS in the 'NOW' and because of that and no concept of time, is one reason why we don't remember past or previous sareers.See the sareer now and here and our brain is what has memory. We are conditioned to know what we know ie. Knowledge, because we have memory in the brain which instructs the mind.- ALL part of the huge maya illusion . The consciousness is kind of detached away form the mind and brain or it wants to be away and is not influenced by those same memories. - Because the consciousness doesn't have these memories, like I said it lives in the NOW. BUT- a bi BUT, is that the consciousness KNOWS much more than we actually think. It doesn't know these things from acquired learning and memory like our sareer dos, but it JUST KNOWS about the Lord and the real Truth outside of the ILLUSION. When examining puratan saroops it is difficult to ascertain dates and build up any information about the scribes, the lack of provenance means their study is a very difficult task. One Saroop which has received much attention is housed in the collection of the National Museum , New Delhi. Not only is the patron of the Saroop known the scribes and dates are also known as they are part of the manuscript. This Saroop is a profusely decorated copy of the Damdami Birh - lavishly illuminated in Kashmiri style. The saroop was commissioned by Sodhi Bhan Singh of Haranpur (district Jhelum) between 1839 and 1843, it was produced by Kashmiri artist Miha Singh and the scribe Misar Prakas. Bhan Singh was a Sodhi decendent of Prithi Chand (boycotted as 'Minas') some have argued the production of this birh was an attempt to show the real or imagined postion of Bhan Singh - he is shown at the centre of many illustrations, in one he is worshipping Mahakaal and in another performing a 'Havan' . The Sodhis regained some standing and prestige during the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh - it is thought this birh was intended to be presented to Ranjit Singh - the birh is of a very large format - intended to be on 'display'. The birh also has a number of very interesting elements - Indic deities such as the incarnations of Vishnu are shown in 'dvadashakamalas' - twelve petalled lotuses, perhaps the most striking element is the 'Onkaars' that head the 'raag' sections and the 'tatkara' - they are composite illustrations showing Devi, Brahma, Vishnu and Lakhsmi - sometimes the 'Oankaars' are flanked by Ganesh and Hanuman. The 'Formless' made from Indic deities. One image stands out for me above all others, that is the illustration on the 'Tatkara' - the contents page. Here we see the tradition of Bhai Banno, it is said that when Guru Arjan Sahib finished dictating the Aad Granth to Bhai Gurdas the scribe , he sent Bhai Banno to Lahore to have the Pothi bound. Bhai Banno made a copy of the pothi which he also had bound. He presented both the volumes to Guru Sahib. In the illustration from this birh we can see Bhai Banno and Bhai Gurdas standing by their respective 'birhs' and Guru Arjan Dev Ji is pointing to the birh scribed by Bhai Gurdas as the accepted birh. There is another tradition which claims that Guru Sahib accepted both 'birhs' - terming Bhai Banno's birh the 'Khari Birh' - this tradition claims that Guru Sahib had wanted there to be only one birh - which Sangat would seek out and gain 'Mukti' - but as Bhai Banno had created a copy - this would start a tradition where copies would be available to all and all who sought their darshan would gain 'mukhti'.
