  1. Don't dress up as the gurus, but whats wrong with plays? People watch movies all the time. Its a great way of spreading your message around. What did the Nazis do to spread their ideology and anti-semetic views? They had propoganda. Movies were a big part of this and the Nazis used cinema to brainwash the masses. Plays and movies are a good way to spread and teach people.

  2. PETITIONING SATKARYOG JATHADHAR GIANI GURBACHAN SINGH JI AKAL THAKAT SAHIB Petition by SIKH KAUM WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH RESPECTED JATHADHAR JI AS A SIKH YOUTH LIVING IN THE SIKH DIASPORA IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE THAT MORE AND MORE SIKHS ARE FORGETTING THE MARTYRDOM OF OUR SAHIBZADAY. WHILE CHRIST WAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUL A BEING OF GOD AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY AND WE SUPPORT OUR CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AND RESPECT THEM FULLY, THE FACT IS , AND CHRISTIANS AGREE, CHRISTMAS HAS BECOME MATERIALIZED AND GREED, EGO, AND HEDONISM HAVE TAKEN OVER THIS PURE DAY FOR THE CHRISTIANS. SADLY THE SIKH YOUTH HAVE FOLLOWED IN THESE WESTERN WAYS. I SEE MORE AND MORE FAMILIES PUTTING UP CHRISTMAS TREES, HAVING CHRISTMAS PARTIES,AND GETTING INTO THE FESTIVITIES. WHILE THIS MAY SEEM HARMLESS, THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT IN THE MIDST OF CHRISTMAS, THESE SIKHS ARE FULLY OBLIVIOUS TO THE UNPARALLELED SIKH HISTORY WHICH TOOK PLACE ON THESE DAYS. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THE COMING GENERATIONS OF SIKHS ARE TAKEN CARE OF. WHILE THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CELEBRATES THEIR HISTORY DURING HUNNAKAH, OUR AFRICAN BROTHERS CELEBRATE THEIR ROOTS DURING KWANZA, AND OUR CHRISTIAN BROTHERS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF CHRIST, WE TOO SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR EXAMPLE AND COMMERATE OUR WONDERFUL ROOTS. ALSO, IN INDIA THE BIRTHDAY OF NEHRU IS CONSIDERED TO BE CHILDREN'S DAY. IN AMERICA (AND MOST DIASPORA COUNTRIES) THERE IS A MOTHERS DAY AND A FATHERS DAY DEDICATED TO PARENTS. THERE IS ALSO A GRANDPARENTS DAY BUT NO REAL DAY DEDICATED TO CHILDREN OR YOUTH. IN INDIA , WHEN THE BIRTHDAY OF NEHRU IS CELEBRATED, IT MAY BE A SPECIAL DAY FOR PATRIOTS BUT IT DOES NOT BEHOVE SIKHS TO CELEBRATE THIS DAY. A MAIN REASON FOR THIS IS THAT IT IS HISTORICALLY KNOWN THAT NEHRU DRANK, SMOKED, CUT HIS HAIR ,ATE ALL TYPES OF MEAT, AND WOMANIZED. ALTHOUGH NOT A SIKH, HE BROKE EVERY KUREITH. OUR CHILDREN AND YOUTH NEED BETTER EXAMPLES. THE SAHIBZADAY ARE UNPARALLELED ALTHOUGH THEIR BODIES WERE THOSE OF CHILDREN THERE VIRTUES AND BRAVERY WERE GREATER THAN THE GREATEST OF SCHOLARS. WE AS A KAUM SHOULD NOT LET THEIR SACRIFICE BE FORGOTTEN FOR THIS REASON WE ASK THAT YOU SEND A HUKAMNAMA DECLARING THE SAHEEDEE PURAB OF THE SAHIBZADAY AS INTERNATIONAL SIKH CHILDREN'S DAY. THANKS, SIKH SANGAT WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH s petition To: SATKARYOG JATHADHAR GIANI GURBACHAN SINGH JI AKAL THAKAT SAHIB DECLARE SAHIBZADAYS SAHEEDEE DAY AS SIKH CHILDREN'S DAY Sincerely, [Your name] just click here to share the petition on Facebook.

  3. thinking like this is what is keeping our Parchar a thousand years behind. And we wonder why the whole world knows about Jesus' teachings, and hardly anyone outside the Sikh religion knows anything about Sikhi. We need to open our minds up and be practical. Nobody is trying to be Guru Ji's Mother. Its just an attempt towards awareness.

  4. I don't know why khande batta da amrit is being compared as amrit water to sarowar water. Two completely different things!! Firstly, the khande batta da amrit can only be if the 'panj' are present. No person on their own, no matter who they are, can make the same amrit for ceremony as when the panj are present. The significance is NOT about how holy or pure the amrit is, but it is about the panj being present. If we are comparing waters, then we can't compare other holy waters to khande ka amrit. So sarowar water, no matter if it's molecules have vibrations of all gurbani from SGGSji being read thousands of times will still NOT replace the bhatta amrit, because of the panj being present. Simple.... No panj= No amrit ceremony Therefore water from sarowar may have millions of gurbani vibrations eminating from it, BUT it won't transform any recipient to something more pure. This water from sarowar is not amrit that is used for initiation ceremony in any way. You may call it amrit, if you wish- BUT don't confuse it with amrit from the panj.

  5. I think that when one can rise above their haumai and be advait(no duality), then the whole creation and it's contents along with creator become to appear as ONE. Yes, I reckon even the shirt you wear or the chair you sit on becomes to be seen as creation even though they may be man-made. I will just mention a strange encounter that I sometimes get and i'm not sure if others feel the same or if it is just my perception. But, here goes- - We all know and are aware that sometimes a song or a tune may be playing in the back of our minds all day long. Whatever we do in our usual day gets done but all the while there will be this tune or song playing in our background. It will be in our mind or head at all times..... I'm sure we all exprience this sometimes. -Now, sometimes especially after a long, thorough and deep amrit vela naam simran session, I occasionally encounter something similar. I'm not sure if others get this or if it is a sort of 'rom rom simran' -What happens is that I feel these vibrations of 'waheguru' simran going on at the back of my mind. This can also be japji sahib sometimes. - Now, these vibrations will accompany me all day long and everything that I come in contact with or encounter in the day will also be giving the 'waheguru' vibrations. Such that I will feel 'waheguru' simran coming from walls, trees, plants...in fact nearly everything. - This continues for the whole day and doesn't carry on the next day or after a new amrit vela. - It is also a pleasant feeling and although i may not even have done anything constructive at all that day, i still feel that i had memorable day for that week. Having this makes me feel that all the creation can actually be felt as One !! ( sounds a little weird) But yes, there is probably some God vibration in absolutely everything around us, however there is probably no active consciousness like you get in insects, plants and creatures.- but there is some God entity within everything.

  6. Why is it that sikhs are so against rs? First of all i wonder if we asked the great Guru nanak dev ji if he had a problem with this rs path would He to be as selfish as his follower never he would welcome everyone with open arms as all the rs baba ji is doing is spreading the message, just like the 10 gurus did, and to be honest this is where sikhs have got it all wrong when they think the sikh bible is only for sikh it was meant For all mankind not only sikhs and if we look deeper into the sikh bible it is clearly writen that you have to search for a living spiritual teacher And one who can give you the five holy names, im not here to upset anybody simply want some answers

  9. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji There are lot of queries from forum members and anonymous sangat asking for help as per sikhi view point and want to clear the doubts they have. Isn't it better we ask the questions we have directly to Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib? They answer to every question ! The vidhi is to have kesi ishnaan and after doing paath of Japji or 5 Chaupai Sahib, do ardas and take Hukam Nama. The Hukam Nama will be your answer and if one has difficulty in interpreting what Satguru ji tells us, we can discuss it on this forum and I am sure there are many Gursikhs which can help them explaining the Hukam Nama Sahib in the best way or at least so that he/she can understand the answer he/she was searching for.

  12. The cases of perverts who openly do shedkhani with girls in india are just a result of the sheer gandh from punjabi songs. These songs have a huge impact on kids growing up listening to them. Add to that the gandh on bollywood films. Punjabi songs and bollywood movies are the best ways to turn your innocent kid into a potential pervert.

  13. Did you even bother watching the play??? No you didn't. Instead you wanted to be seen as a ''reformer'' so you quickly jumped on your high horse and started stirring up nonsense. PLEASE WATCH THE PLAY ***BEFORE*** COMMENTING. Sorry If I sound harsh, it's not my intention to hurt feelings.

  14. That guy is just the tip of the iceberg. We still have a lot of trouble convincing our community about this threat. All the infighting and pandering to outsiders whilst dividing along caste/jatha/pro-antiKhalistan doesnt help either.

  15. i thought sikhi was all about pyar...have abit of prem to a follow sikh , he could have more bhagti than all of us.. we need 2 stop judging people as if were god. we also need 2 show prem like sant baba thakur singh jee did , when the singhs wouldn't wake up for amritvela , baba jee used to massage their feet to wake the singhs up. we need to show pyar not ego , saying this is wrong we know it all. yeah hes not in the right here but no need to be arses about it as said above. just think how dhan guroo nanak dev jee would respond in the upmost respect, pyar and nimrata ... sabh gobind hai sahb gobind hai...

  16. Humkire Ji- I have a very genuine questions. Please if you can answer them...I will revise my position and redact my statement earlier as i have no issue learning from other members who can clear doubts and thats how we learn and grow in sangat: a) If water from sarovar (not just amritsar sarovar but any gurdwara sarovar) holds a same significance as water in khanda batta da amrit then whats the symbolism behind stiring the water with khanda, while bani is recited? b) If water from sarovar (not just amritsar sarovar but any gurdwara sarovar) holds a same significance as water in khanda batta da amrit then whats the symbolism behind recting gurbanis again to purify given the fact- water from sarovar already purified or turned into amrit as gurbani is being sung and recited on speakers? c) If general perception is water itself in sarovar is holy and very very sacred as gurbani is being sung in the background, then whats the thought process behind having filtration system installed in the sarovar at the first place? d) if water from sarovar (not just amritsar sarovar but any gurdwara sarovar) holds a same significance as water in khanda batta da amrit then how come we don't have maryada of getting the same water from sarovar and using it in preparation for khanda da amrit? e) is there any contradiction when i state- devotion is two way street and if individual have faithless, devotionless, cynism type of sheild around them that same water in sarovar cannot have its effect not because it does not have capability but because individual have shield around them?

  17. It's ok its one of traits of arrogant insecure self righteous new world order gangasta tupac hoddie loving singhs from here abroad..about two years ago, this silly sheep spamming all sikh sangat members with message fore warning sikhs against very respected forum member just because this member didn't reply back to him in timely manner, this hyper paranoid insecure individual taunts intimidates everyone. He writes me via pm. Now only vahiguroo knows how much character assassination type of pms, he sends to all the members here against me and chatanga !!!.. But ultimately, i forgive him..its just today i m not having good day, i had a big fight with my wife so i am fighting fire with fire..i m sure tommorow..i forgive this silly person and ready to embrace him as a brother ..!!

  19. "We really need to start realising the importance of having full time parcharaks and not just parcharaks who do parchaar in their spare time…this can only happen if we fund projects such as basics of sikhi. My only advice to Basics of Sikhi is to keep doing what you’re doing and don’t wait for Sikh institutions to financially support this uprala…just continue to have faith in Guru Sahib & Guru Jee’s Sadhsangat." @ Into the Light - Thanks for the advice - we have asked Southall Singh Sabha for Funding, given that they are the Gurudwara who benefits the most from Basics of Sikhi. They have even put our programme into their annual newsletter and so far they have not had any problems either (Gurus kirpa). I dont know if they will fund us though! Guru sahib will always send what we deserve though! Re your point on advanced courses. (1) The Why Khalsa Why Fateh Course is supposed to provide the medium level of progression, more gurbani, more skills etc (2) The long term dream is to have a Vidiayala here in the UK, like a Gurbani focused on that teaches exactly that, the Santhiaya, the viaakaran, the history of shabads, the languages in Gurbani. Half the problems in our Panth are because we are not focuses upon learning Gurbani but arguing about it. How many scholars are there in Braj or Persian?? When you even approach the ocean of Gurbani and realise how deep and how wide it is....they only thing left to do is do ardaas and start swimming. Thanks for your support ji.

  20. I think its those reasons. But also I think its purely because there will probably never be 100 per cent unity in any group/religion/sect or whatever. No religion has unity. Look at Muslims, Christians etc. Shias, Sunnis, Protestants, Catholics etc. Everyone has a different take on something. It's just the way it is in my opinion. But I think if we grew in numbers and got a proper leadership and a standardised message in parchar, I think we'd have less of this.

  21. Sikh Sangat, I came across this message written by Sarb Singh of RajoanaTV following an article in The Hindu, one of India's biggest national newspapers. The article in The Hindu draws attention to the phenomenal work RajoanaTV has done over the last year on a plethora of Human Rights issues in Panjab. Please see the article in The Hindu here and Sarb Singh's message below. Gurfateh All, The accolades and support that RajoanaTV has received has been unreal but the real certificate of success is the article below. The third largest national newspaper in India, 'The Hindu' talks about RajoanaTV and how a new breed of soldiers are taking the reigns of the fight for truth, justice and independence. The waving of Kirpans in thin air and shouting 'down down India gorment' by our so called leaders is unfortunately for india dying a death. India's war has changed, the guns have fallen silent but their massacre of Sikhi and Panjab continues in a faceless silent way. We have the blood of Guru Gobind Singh Ji running through our veins, we have changed our strategy also to suit this war. Like the article suggests, they don't know how to deal with this. So called moderate Sikhs, educated and professionals posing legitimate questions, delivering info in a passionate orderly manner is frightening them. Whether this article is a conceited, veiled non direct threat from India letting me know that they are watching and know who I am or they genuinely concede that the sons and daughters of Sikhi and Panjab haven't surrendered is not the issue, the fact that one of their famous journalists has written this article in india's third largest nespaper means we have rattled their cage very hard. This small Project that started 8 months ago has shaken our tyrants and nudged our sleeping lions. However, this was the aim and we are closer to the beginning of our conflict rather than the end. With Maharaj's kirpa, no nation or its army can contain or intimidate us. More importantly, india realises that the generation born post 84 have not forgotten and will continue to fight in the battlefield, albeit in a different way. For this reason, keep watching RajoanaTV and implore others to do the same. What is really important is that despite the fact they have wiped clean the cream of our crop like Sukha Jinda, Gen Labh Singh, Bhai Amrik Singh, Baba Manochal etc, us 'westerners' living outside indiacan still make a difference. We no longer have the likes of Brahma or Tufaan or Heera with us, they were the true soldiers, but using the sills set that we have, we can still as a collective bring india to its knees. www.youtube.com/rajoanatv Gurfateh

  24. If you are a doctor you should kknow that declofenac sodium is not just a painkiller but an anti inflammatory. If you read my post very much more sharply you would realise that I have indicated that the description provided so far does indeed indicate soreness, redness as well as some swelling accentuated everytime the ears come into contact and get covered, and for that I dont see why taking an anti inflammatory with the additional benefit of numbing and soothing the pain should be so feared especially if it is meant for a very short term basis. Also I do not think it is right to rubbish other's opinions by declaring that you are a doctor because doctors can make mistakes like anyone else. You may be a doctor but others may have also shown the description provided so far to skin consultants within the medical fraternity to ensure and verify correct advice was being given. If indeed you are a doctor maybe you could offer this singh with an ear problem to come to your clinic for a free private consultation where you could examine his ears more thoroughly and decide what is best. At the end of the day it is his ears not mine and neither yours and he has been given a range of advices and it is for him to decide that according to the condition of his ears which is the best way forward. We are all only here, not to nit prick one another and use this as a sheild to improve our debating skills, but rather to offer our humble individual advice from our nijee point of view. My mother was not a doctor but her simple pieces of advice have always helped to keep my skin shiny, healthy and radiant, and on the other hand my best friend nearly died of being misdiagnosed for the wrong disease and Gurujee gave me the insight to warn me that this doctor was blatantly wrong and made me present the symtoms to another doctor who then quickly changed the medicine and saved my friend's life. So, being a doctor does not mean you are perfect in your understanding, and I would rather you show more humility in your response. Only God and Guru can be perfect, no one else, and its always wise to play down your credentials in public. Shree Guru Nanak Dev Jee Maharaj never had to declare to others that He was a Guru.

  26. kaur ji, Sikhs do not discriminate against anyone. However, we follow sandesh and hukam coming out of Sri akal takht sahib. Akal takht sahib made clear on many occasion regarding same sex partner issue. There is difference between disagreeing and discrimination.
