Seen in the picture is Granthi Kabal Singh apologising to Sangat and Singhs led by Dr Gurjinder Singh of SYF Bhindranwala for performing Sukhmani Sahib Path at a Muslim peers grave. The Granthi admitted to making a mistake and pledged to refrain from carrying out such acts in the future. the names of all those who died in Bluestar should be put up in memorial. Names ages where they were from so that they can be remembered for all time.

Fact is that they are always FULL Sikhs in terms of amritdhari and khakkars. When you look at Punjabis, we have so many monay, women with cut and coloured hair...etc.... you can't even tell who is hindu or not !!! There is nothing wrong with doing yoga, it doesn't make you any more or lesser of a Sikh. I have actually started kundalini yoga myself !! :biggrin2: I know that most of them came into sikhi via yoga, but then again we have white people that come into Punjabi and then sikhi via dance music like bhangra !

True, Sikhs need to preserve the Punjabi language as much as possible. For Sikhs in the west, read as many books as you can in Punjabi to get a good grasp of the language. Make an effort. Promote the language by speaking Punjabi with your children, so atleast they will know the language. Children will learn English even in schools so no need to speak English with them at home, but if you don't speak Punjabi with your children at home they will not learn Punjabi from outside and consequently they will lose touch with Punjabi. Knowing Punjabi(or any other north Indian language) has the added advantage that you will be better equipped to understanding Gurbani, Bhai Gurdas Dhiyan varan.

Perhaps this will motivate some of us who forgotten our mother language to make efforts to learn it and also teach it to our younger generation.

The title of the thread can be a bit confusing when you read it the first few times. Originally I thought the title was 'White 3ho Sikhs v Non-white Sikhs', in which case my answer would be as follows : The former have brought millions of people towards Sikhi and the latter have driven millions away. As it is I don't really have much of an opinion on the matter exept to say that the white 3ho Sikhs have each introduced Sikhi to about 35,000% more people than any of their critics here.

if you notice all countries who have have economic migration are the least racist, and countries to where there is little or no economic migration are most racist. All its showing is the people who have exposure to difference races are most tolerance. And people with no exposure are more fearful of the unknown.. that's the truth- but for DM readers thats too boring of a story!!

I stopped reading that article of this sumra as I read the part where he writes that Bhai Vir Singh Jee is an Akhauti Likhari. Can you believe this low life Sumra saying this about one of the most respect Sikh writers of the 20th century. The man who is regarded as the father of modern Punjabi literature and gave Punjabi language the respectful standing it now has is being called an Akhauti likhaari by these Kala Afghanists. This Sumra is not even 10% of the writer Bhai Vir Singh Jee was, yet he thinks he has the Aukaat to call Bhai Sahib as "Aukhauti Likhaari"! The only Akhauti Dr and so called writer is Sumra here:

You haven't elaborated on what 'wrong' things he does but I will say this : Sikhi is not something you can force, lecture or scare someone into. It is, quite simply about feeling the love. I guarantee that if he makes a habit of attending the Gurdwara, getting involved in the children's activities in the Gurdwara etc, he will, before long, get an amazing feeling that will make him want to take even greater steps towards Sikhi without you having to say a word.

There is no doubt that sumedh saini is a major human rights violator. Badal has committed a blunder by appointing him as chief and he will pay for it in the long run as sikhs do not forget the tyrants. Virk is no innocent. He ran police cat network wherein cats were declared dead when they were actual alive. What does that mean.It means they are killing some innocent person while the cat is kept alive and given another name. He admitted this when sukhi was caught as he was dead and being shilded by Virk. He is pro congress and and belongs to maharashtra cadre.he was brought to Punjab by Rebeiro who is also from that cadre. He should tell how many sikhs he killed.

I just have one request... Please don't give up on life because of prophecies. Keep getting an education, keep striving to become successful, keep supporting your family, keep uplifting your Sikhi, I have seen and heard people making prophecies for a long time now (I'm probably older than alot of you), and one thing I have noticed over and over again is that the prophecy dates keep on changing. In 2002 they were saying 2007 is the end... Then 2007 came and went, and people started saying 2012. And now we are again pushing it to 2016. It's the same trend over and over. If you want to believe these prophecies, that's your own choice, all I'm saying is please don't give up on things you strive for in life.(for example: what's the point in getting married, finishing university etc if the world is gonna end anyways?) And don't max out your credit cards!

Heartbreaking and truly frightening, especially for those of us with children as we've all had to seek medical attention for our children whilst on holiday in Punjab. Beautiful Gurkiran Kaur could have been any one of ours daughter. The moral slide in Punjab and the rest of India is now unstoppable. i have often thought this, if the british still ruled india, things could have been better for the sikhs. i wonder when the indians will ever learn.

This is so tradgic, i really feel for her family, Waheguru ji give them strenght. you know i sometimes think did people in india deserve to be freed from the tyrany of the mughals or are these people better of being oppressed as they have no morals are getting worse day by day, is there no limit to the sins people do in this country!! you never hear of these kind tragedies in the uk or other western countries, Why? Because no matter how bad the british may have been in the past they have certainly become civilised now but india is still an uncivilised country today! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa !! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh !! Gur roop sadh sangat jio, Once there was a gursikh vaid (Doctor) who used to come to Sangat in Anandpur Saahab. He would find a spot in sanga...t from where he can have unhindered Darshans of Guru Saahab & used to stand there quietly, refilling himself. Every day he used to do the same. Even on being asked to sit in Sangat he would politely refuse, for he was for continual unobstructed Darshan of guru Saahab & was afraid if he would sit down, someone else might sit in front or he might lose the glimpse of Guru saahab. Guru Saahab noticed him & one day asked him to sit in the sangat, on hearing his reply & fear Guru Saahab smiled & asked him what does he do for living. He replied that he was a Doctor. Guru Saahab instructed him to go back to his village, serve the patients on priority while staying immersed in Nitnem & simran & not come back unless called for or Guru Sahab himself will come & bless him with Darshan. Gursikh doctor bowed before Guru Saahab & went back to his village. Every day Gursikh doctor would wake up early in the morning & after Nitnem & Simran would start his daily routine of serving patients in his clinic. He would serve rich & por patients with equal zeal & enthusiasm recognising it to be Hukam of his Beloved Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Saaheb Jee and many a times wouldn’t even charge for his services from poor patients. Days & even months passed by. Everyday he would long for Guru Saahab’s Darshan with a Vairaagmayee ardaas in his heart. He declared a holiday in his clinic & was personally supervising all the preparations for the langar. He cleaned the central place in his home & put up a Chaunkee (a chair) where he would seat his Beloved, Owner of Anandpur. He was very excited by the very news & seeing the preparations in full swing at his home was much more delighted. He wanted to make sure the best possible overall arrangement for the whole samaagam. Aaj morey Aaye hai Aaj Morey Aaye hai He was drowned in the very thoughts of anticipation of Darshan of Guru saahab & was literally had to be shaken by a lady who had come to his home to seek his help. Her husband was very sick & she said he will die if he doesn’t go with her to see & treat him now. What ? Now? When arrival time of Guru saahab is only a couple of hours away and lady lives far off place. It would a few hours in commute only, without counting in the actual time he would spend treating her husband. And Who knows he would be able to treat him & make him feel better or not ? many such thoughts flashed in his mind & heart in fraction of a second. One one side is Darshan of his beloved, of which he has been waiting all these days, months, moments so eagerly that many a times he had lost his patience of waiting. Yes , many a times he thought of going to Anandpur saahab himself quietly & have a glimpse of Guru Saahab & come back but then very thought of Guru Saahab’s hukam had prevented him to do so which was still ringing in his ears as bells “serve the patients on priority while staying immersed in Nitnem & simran & not come back unless called for or Guru Sahab himself will come & bless him with Darshan” And Today HE himself is coming to bless him with Darshans BUT this lady, this lady’s husband, sick or dying husband, Guru saahab’s Hukam. What should he chose ? What would you choose ? Yes you all, readers, what would you choose ? What is more important, hsl jee, that was your question, Hukam or Darshan ? He was quite for a few moments & then all of a sudden decided! Yes! He decided. Without losing any more moments in confusion and having instructed his family & friends to do all possible sewaa of Guru Saahab & Gursikhs with utmost regards & shardhaa, Bhaao, Bhaavnee he packed his bag of medicine & started with the old lady for her home. It was a long day but he served the sick patient with great love & commitment, it took him a few hours to bring the patient out of any immediate danger. He was tired. By the time he started back for his home, By the time he reached his village & his home it was already dark, Sun had set off & he was thinking how best did his family do the sewaa part. No matter how best we all do, its never the best. What Guru Saahab might have felt. Although he was satisfied with having served his patient but He was sad that he couldn't have Darshan of Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Saaheb Jee. he was walking with heavy feet that Guru saahab had come so close today to his village, to his home. There would have been Satsangat in his home & he wasn’t blessed to have even Darshan. ViNN Bhaagaa Satsang Naa labhey… Hunn Kad Mileeye Priy Tudh bhagwantaa || With sad heart he entered his street which was very quite, Where have all his neighbors gone? Did they all go to see Guru Saahab off at the border of the village? They are really lucky to walk with Guru Saahab They all must be singing Charan Chalo Charan Chalo Chalo Maarag Gobind || Thinking all these thoughts, he entered his house What ? LO & BEHOLD ? THERE HE WAS His Beloved, His Preetam Pitaajee DHAN GURU GOBIND SINGH SAAHEB Sitting in that central place of his home on that very chaunkee which he had cleaned this morning, with all the gursikhs around He was Surprised, astonished, nay! I do not have words to describe his state of mind & heart Tan man Hoye Nihaal Jaa Gur dekhaa SaamNNey || Merey Hirdey sudh Budh visar gayee… his thought process was broken by Guru Saahab’s voice Kyo bhaayee, Saanoo langar Nahee ChhakaaNNaa ? What ? Guru saahab hasn’t eaten thus far ? Oh! Kalgidhar Pitaajee O Pyaareyaa dey Pyaarey was waiting all this while without eating langar for his gursikh to come back so that HE can bless him with darshan & have langar with him, as promised.
