All of u should be mega proud of yourselves (in a way without haumai and hankaar) as many people at your age in Punjab are doing drugs, have no consideration for what Sikhi stands for and are ruining their own lives as well as the future of the Sikh Panth. To my knowledge you guys+girls haven't killed any innocent people, you haven't aborted any innocent life on the basis of gender, you don't sell or take drugs and you don't drink so why not give yourselves a break and realise that you are champions and Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had their entire family made shaheed but they still walked out clapping as the Sikh Panth can never lose and never be defeated if we are strong mentally within ourselves and united as one force. Next time you feel depressed, remember those that are much worse off than you and try to engage in some seva for them. The OP needs to get away from 3HO and start reading Gurbani for themselves. 3HO cult can only read Gurbani in English translations, so what do they know about Gurmat. The cult leader and Guru was a yoga instructor who cunningly twisted Gurbani to fulfill his worldly desires. Stop using 3HO as an authority on Sikhi. They first need to focus their attention on learning Gurmukhi, reading Gurbani and then understanding Gurbani before trying to interpret Gurbani for the world.

Never met a follower but a friend from here sent me his katha and it thought it was good. We caught something wrong that he said in another thread exposing some wrong things he said. You have made some valid points here. Reading this article, I feel the OP must have been hurt by a man who must have pushed her to the extent of hating all men. It happens. I have seen men who have been hurt by a women end up hating all women as a result. When a person is hurt by another to this extend, it can cause depression and even mental imbalance, as I suspect the later since the OP claims to be speaking on behalf of Vaheguru. Jasdeepsingh2k125 ji what I'm realising is now that the ones that are meant to be in your lives will stay with you and the ones that aren't will eventually lose contact. In the past 2 months or so I have lost a few friends. Now those friends were the ones who to talk garbage/gossiping/slandering etc. For the last 8 months or so I've been attracted to Waheguru so much that i'm in love and that I don't wish for anyone to come in the way of this. I feel like I'm in a relationship and its very beautiful indeed. At this moment I feel very protected, but what i'm scared about is when this all diminishes. Who will I turn to then, as I will have nobody by my side except for my family?

Quick translation: 29th March, 2011 (Sri Amritsar): A meeting of five Singh Sahibaan was held today under the leadership of Jathedar Singh Sahib Gyani Gurbachan Singh in which important decisions regarding various Sikh religious matters were taken. Talking to the reporters after the long meeting Singh Sahib Gyani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib told that reminder letters have been recieved regarding the change of statement of Jathedar Avtar Singh in connection with issue of Khalsa College, Amritsar; these letters will be analysed and the next step will be taken. In today's meeting, Tankhah (Religious punishment) was assigned to two members of SGPC Navtej Singh 'Kaoni' and Sukhwant Singh, and Mohinder Singh - a Gurughar Kirtaniya from Agra. Singh Sahib told that SGPC member Navtej Singh Kaoni had gone to programme held by dera followers. After recieving a written apology by him, he has been assigned 15 days of Tankhah, under which apart from listening to Gurbani for 1 hour daily at Mukatsar Gurdwara Sahib he will also have to do 1 hour daily seva at Gurughar. Similarly, SGPC member Sukhwant Singh, who had participated in an Akhand Path held at a tomb shrine, has also apologised in writing. He has been ordered to listen to kirtan for 1 hour daily at Gurdwara Wazidpur and do seva at Gurdwara Sahib. Mohinderpal Singh, the Kirtaniya from Agra, has been assigned 1 month Tankhah because he had performed Kirtan in front of ex-communicated Nirankari chief Hardev Singh. Mohinderpal Singh has pleaded sorry in writing, and now he will do seva for 10 days each at three Gurdwara Sahibs. I wanted to start this topic for a long time finally got chance to finally get around it. It's well know fact there were manji system (centers establishment where gursikhs were chosen to do parchar) was started by Guru Amar das ji, they were 22 manjiya intially strategically placed everywhere in india to do parchar. Bro some important points that I wanted to correct on your post. 1. 50% of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's disciples were originally born to Muslim parents. When they became part of Guru Sahib's Sangat they ceased being Muslim and became Guru ke Sikh. This is a very important point to understand 2. Bhai Mardana was the first Sikh. He was not Muslim. Mughal writers started to claim he was Muslim in order to try and prevent other Muslims from becoming Sikh after Guru Arjan Dev Ji's shaheedi. Dhan Dhan Kabir Ji Maharaj were absolutely NOT Muslim either and they rejected and ridiculed Islam as you can read in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. It's important to remember that just because a person's parents are Muslim that does not make a son Muslim especially if the son is the legendary first Gurmukh or one of our most blessed Bhagats. Sikhs cannot and do not believe in pedophilia. Sikhi condemns pedophilia, slavery, rape of slavegirls and all types of immoral oppression that Muhammad + the Quran promote. PS: Good and innocent Muslims who do not hurt others but were just merely born into a religion/community should be treated with respect. Some fair points. Don't have a problem with it to be honest. If they desire to be closer to Waheguru then why should anyone object?

On a related note, why do modern young men and their fashion look so... dainty, almost effeminate? The clothes don't help either. A rugged pair of jeans and a tshirt does the trick imo. As for the OP, I guess showing the Sikh image in a positive light is nothing to be sniffed at I guess.

It become evident that it was a well known fact that Baba Giana Singh taught many people and created many ustads of Shastarvidiya but he never gave “thapi” (appointed) a successor in any way, especially not to Baba Mohinder Singh (Nidar’s supposed Teacher), who was quite removed from the main akhara and a recluse according to Nidars early accounts. Following are names of students of Baba Giana Singh – Baba Gurdial Singh, Baba Giana Singh, Baba Gurbax Singh, Baba Daya Singh , Baba Gian S, Baba Pritam Singh, Baba Mohinder Singh. Baba Pritam Singh’s Ranjit Akhara can be found on facebook here. But he doesn’t have the ego and to go around pumping himself as the ultimate last warrior. He is a humble Nihang Singh who encourages young people to learn shastarvidiya and do demonstrations to keep the art alive. Baba Pritam Singh also holds no animosity or superiority complex over Gatka and allows his students to freely practice according to the sangat present without making fun of people who do Gatka, but encouraging them. So how can Nidar claim to be ninth Grand Master in line, and the only living practitioner of the art, when there was no clear line of succession and there are still existing students of Baba Giana Singh (8th generation) and their subsequent students who are ninth generation. Who made Nidar the gurdev? and who gave him sole copyright over Shastarvidiya. How can he claim to be the last Master of this forgotten art when there are so many others. Nidar absolutely hates it if anyone else tries to teach shastarvidiya of any kind yet he cannot claim to be from Baba Giana Singhs lineage but at the same time not recognise his rightful descendants. Surely anyone can now go to India learn from the Ranjit Akhara at Budha Dal and and be taught from direct descendants of Baba Giana Singh and setup legitimate Shastar Vidiya Akharas across the UK. I have heard that a few already have. The truth is that Nidar’s version of events is mere fantasy, self aggrandizement and self-promotion. His earlier origin stories were akin to a 70′s Jackie Chan Kung Fu Movie. Its all a very clever marketing campaign. NIdar is living off the name of nam japan valey, hath, tap, seva karan valey, bani paran valey, panth de mahan Brahmgianis and Gatka Ustads of the past, who have lived to serve the Panth. While this fraud serves his own belly and ego. And what Nidar has done by hijacking shastarvidiya and claiming to be the sole owner is similar to the way Balbir has taken control of the Budha Dal and claimed jathedari for himself even though no jathedari was ever passed to him.

The reason why I say islam is to blame there is because take islam out of the equation and you wont get much fighting in afghanistan. Virtually every nation on earth that has islamic ideology particularly the political aspect infested within it is in turmoil. Why? Because its a totalterian fundamentalist backward religion that makes its believers stick their head back in the 7th century and not progress. When they go into jihad mode they dont care any rules of war or excesses against non-muslims or muslims alike. The taliban is not 1 single entity you have good taliban and bad taliban just like any other armed religious or political group you have those who have high standards and those who are the lowest of low who would kill their own mothers if they got in the way of their agenda. So when afghan sikhs says the taliban did good things for us and other afghan Sikhs say they murdered us and raped our women and destroyed our homes then you have those afghan Sikhs saying ahmed shah masood's forces were great for them in liberating their homes and others who may say the opposite. To get a more balanced picture we have to see the accounts of people who have suffered under all armed forces that have plunged afghanistan into a war torn hell hole for past few decades. Bottom line is Islam, jihadi's are the root cause of all of the strife Afghanistan faces and all other muslim nations. The muslims can not even live in peace with each other (shia vs sunni) how they going to live in peace with non-muslims?

When one gets born, mind which is also ones personality slows its vibration down from spiritual to physical world to create matter which we see as body(us). As ones mind changes matter vibrates as to denser or lighter matter . We pick up vibrations of others. You attract or repel people in your life based on your mind vibrations. Spiritual mind is inward, gross mind is outward, you are in transition, you may not want to leave the outward illusion seem to be fun more familiar world for inner soul world. Nothing but islam is to blame here, ex-pat afghan Sikhs and wider global Sikh leadership. Those afghan Sikhs lucky enough to have settled aboard have done nothing absolutely nothing for their distinct community back home apart from a few appeals here and there they have not put any serious financial or political efforts. Even their kids they raise aboard they do not teach them to have that strong patriotic Sikh identity and to make sure their community survives and conquers afghanistan like the muslims refugee's do of non-muslim lands. This failure to instill in their people fighting spirit and their right to their native afghan homeland is their downfall and will not get better until they themselves wake up and realise Afghanistan is their land and not land for muslims or islam they are not outsiders but sons of afghan soil.

I never knew there was a grey area regarding tattoos, I always thought it was clear that any bodily piercings and tattoos (ie. body modification) is equivalent to beadbi of kesh. Yes some Gursikh elders have Ik Onkar on their hands but I'm sure there are also some Sikh women who had their ears pierced at a young age but now they are Amritdhari and so do not wear earrings but obviously their ears are still pierced.
