Other than doing parchar what has Dhadrianwale been doing along with his big following? Named as a Sant what actions or plans has he implemented to bring justice? I understand sangat provides him with a lot of dasvand. How much of this dasvand has gone to hiring lawyers for 1984 Sikh victims? How much is being given to Sikhs families that still have family members locked up in prison? Parchar is all good and raises awareness, but Dhadrianwale has been given also the gift of raising money and then putting it to work for justice. How many actions has he taken against the government for violating or disregarding their own law? How many treatment centres have been opened for people that are addicted to drugs? Speaking about the issue is just pouring a glass of water for a thirsty child and then leaving it on the counter. The glass of water needs to be picked up from the counter, slowly handed to the child, and watch him drink the glass of water hoping he does not spill it. This is not an attack on Dhadrianwale, but asking for clarification on what he is doing other than parchar.

The question isn't so much about should we have Khalistan or not? The Sikh Panth has automatic birthright and Haq to whatever we the Sarbat Khalsa (which includes everyone who accepts Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj as their Guru) democratically desire. But no home is built from the roof downwards. A strong house is built with strong foundations. Khalsa Raj should cover all of India not just a tiny minority part of the old Punjab. Eventually Khalsa Raj should be global to protect all humanity. But we need to get the following foundations in place. Otherwise if armed struggle until mid-1990's did not achieve the freedom from GOI terrorism that 99% of the Panth desired at the end of November 1984 then it's clear we need a new and intelligent approach rather than just blindly chanting slogans and hoping that will work. In order to get it even locally (as Khalsa Raj should be throughout India where our Panj Takhts are), Punjab (in no particular order) needs to be: 1. Drugs free (that true Sikhs are never seen touching drugs despite the stupid "party" reputation some in our community have created) ... agressive tactics to be used against dealers. Musicians play a big part in promoting drugs, alcohol and tribal identity and can't be ignored. 2. Alcohol free (there are too many songs promoting this poison and a Qaum on sharaab will always be weak in the main) ... persuasive health-based logic to be used prior to occasions of celebration and to slowly but surely get the message across that sharaab is not acceptable even for sehajdhari Sikhs 3. Biraderi politics (all crooks wanting to control biraderi-based golaks for themselves need to be stopped and idiots arranging rishte by not following the don't ask + don't tell rule need to be exposed as the anti-Sikh dogs they are. Across-biraderi rishte need to be enforced in arranged marriages in order to end this divisive cancer) 4. Abortion clinics killing girl children need to be agressively put out of business (but we don't need to go the trouble of bombing them like Americans do) 5. An all out campaign to make our Panth 100% literate, as a lot of the problems we face stem from lack of education. Voluntary seva by Diaspora youth to teach youth in Punjab can help re-inforce our links with Punjab and keep overseas youth grounded and away from western materialism, drugs, alcohol etc. 6. An increase in free hospitals and drugs treatment centres so that poor Sikhs (that too many within our Panth ignore) aren't forced to convert in order to get important life-saving operations done. 7. And end to the lie that all religions are equally beneficial to all of mankind. Amongst ourselves we need to agressively expose the disgusting livelihoods of prominent faith figures from the Abrahamic + Hindu religions. Obviously we can tone down the rhetoric if we are talking to a potential convert one on one on the street (especially Hindu's from whom most new members of the Panth are likely to arise from). But on the internet we shouldn't be that sensitive as to hesitate from open and honest criticism of pedophiles and slaveowners and those who supposedly had virgin births. 8. Increasing acceptance of all within the community as Sikhs rather than us saying that 90% are no longer Sikhs. Not treating sehajdhari's as Hindu's as GOI wants. 9. Instead of concentrating on minor arguments about differences in various Rehats, or tables/chairs in Langar Hall or whether old saroops should be agan bhet or if girls are doing their eyebrows or guys wearing durags, we need to work out what our current priorities out of the above are and focus most of our attention on those. 10. We need one single SGPC charity in which the funds within cannot be accessed by Badal Dal. This charity's remit would be to maximise seva efforts globally. And then if we don't physically take part in pushing our Qaum forward then we have to contribute the maximum daswand towards this united SGPC Charity but in the meantime Khalsa Aid are doing a great job and we should contribute the maximum to their Educate Punjab Project to ensure our youth are mentally strong enough...

How do you actually feel about it ?? Do you think it is sacrilege if you have a gurbani app on your phone because it goes in your pocket to the toilet ?? I think the answer is found within ad not by what some one else says to you. For me, it doesn't matter whether it's on a phone or not- besides I no longer carry a phone as I believe it can dictate too many moments in my life that should be spent in consonance with Akal Purakh. The gurbani is deeply enshrined within my heart and this makes it UNTOUCHABLE. Gurbani comes from the lord himself, they are the words of the divine- the shabad guru. The gurbani has to be seen or heard in a physical material form to be absorbed and then contemplated within our minds and hearts. Because we are material forms in maya, then so does our interaction have to be in order to primarily receive. Just as the One Sun gives the whole of creation it's light and warmth, so does anything else from God including his divine WORD or Gurbani.. Now if the same ONE sun sends the warmth to us by his divine doing, do we in any way change the form of rays coming from the sun ? Or to put it a little easier, if we hang out some dirty filthy laundry to dry out in the sun, then do the sun's rays coming from the divine source get dirty or affected in any way ?? In the same way, the WORD does not get affected no matter where it hits or bounces off just like the sun's rays. As for the going to the toilet issue and all that, then this comes down to general Sikh discipline. God has given us all the same bodies and no matter how clean our hearts and gurmukh our conduct may be, we will still operate as humans and contain and produce dirty waste products that are defecated or urinated. We will NEVER cleanse our bodies of this internal waste whilst we reside in this kappra of a body. The accessories of today are designed to be with us at all times,they are shaped and accustomed to fit into our pockets and not be too far in reach. Taking your ipod playing gurbani into the toilet is not the same as taking guru sahib ji into the toilet to watch you defecate is it ?? This is the HUGE difference, the accessory or item goes with us but we don't take it to tarnish any part of it in an area for human waste. If you still feel uncomfortable having gurbani on the same device as gansta rap or gurbani app along with games and movies seems inappropriate, then just don't do it OR get a separate device to help keep a clear conscious. I ask specifically about 1984 because he does a lot of parchar on 1984 victims and their families. Which also can mean he is very passionate about helping the victims and their families. When I was in punjab last year I noticed how many sufi make shift masjids contrusterd by bhaiya muslim migirants. Now this is a very dangerous issue for Sikhs because already a minority in the Indian Union. And hardly any Sikhs in pakistan or afghanistan because of the evil shadow of Islam. If any Sikh cares or loves his/her religion enough to want to avert a catastrophe then they must start to get militant against Islamic agenda. No more tree hugging Sikhs it has to be made quite explict to muslims in Punjab that no new masjids will allowed to be built and no conversions of Sikhs will be tolerated. In fact there needs to be a drive to convert the muslims of kashmir and punjab to Sikhism. EDL is a good tool that we can all use. In terms of islamisation of UK it is the only hope as far as I see. As Sikhs we need someone to make it clear to EDL- 1) we will support them if they support us as we have all been victims of islamisation/grooming and conversions. 2) we have NO intention living in a country where they respect and honor Sharia law MORE than the law of the land. 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY- we should make it clear to EDL that we shall not be used just to help boost EDL's status and then they change their minds and turn against all brown people including us !!! -This is the primary fear we all have, that ''they don't really care'' and that once the islamisation is fixed they will start on the Singhs and Afros. I agree 100%. I'm not against Bhai Sahib, but Sant Sipahi is a very deep title that shouldn't be used so loosely. With that said got to make sure people don't start bashing for no reason b/c of paranoia and cause more vavivaad. I think yournpostbwas balanced and shows both sides.

You have a point, but one must consider that no one who is high profile or famous is speaking about 84 and fake encounters. Dandrianwala is speaking, lets be happy that at least there is one person who is speaking. Guru Maharaj is making everything unfold right before our eyes. No too long ago, we would not hear any good news. But now Sikhs a waking up after a long slumber. I think it all started with Sikhs taking the courage to install the portrait of Sant Jee in the SGPC museum a few years ago. After that the way the entire Sikh nation worldwide stood up fearlessly for Bhai Rajoana, shocked all our enemies. Sadda Haq was another great step for the truth to come out. Then Singhs building the Bluestar memorial was probably the greatest thing to have happened for the Sikhs since the start of this century followed by Sikhs also now wanting to build a similar memorial for the Delhi anti Sikh riots victims. High profile people like Dandriawala speaking about human rights is also a positive sign of times to come. He has mass following amongst the Sikhs. When he speaks, lakhs will listen. This is a good way for the truth to come out. Following his example, maybe more high profile people will do likewise.

If we can ask of dhunda and what he has done for the victims of 1984 after collecting loads of money from the sangat in the west, then the same can be asked of from Dhadrianwale or any other parcharak. Dhunda has gone quiet as a mouse ever since his political party Sarna was kicked out of power. One thing we have learnt from history is that demographics really does matter in the modern age. The only reason why Punjab was partitioned in 47 is because Sikhs were a small minority of about 14%. After 47, Punjab was further partitioned this time by the seperatist Hindus by separating Himachal, Haryana, Chandigarh because again Sikh were a minority. Only Sikhs are the true defenders of their land. The other two communities i.e. Muslims, Hindus have only partitioned Punjab into small portions. Parchar of Sikhi which can improve our demographic situation is the only solution to our problem.

Dont mind kids being taught Islam only if they are taught all the other major world faiths like Sikhism equally with equal resources and educational units. If not then they are discriminating against other faiths and legal action should be taken. Dhadrianwale leaves a lot of question marks on his very own conduct. I too, would be very pleased to know if and how much revenue goes in this direction of seva. We have no right to attack their behavior but we do have the right to question in these instances.

Yes to all. But note that for amrit vela it can be after you wake up and before you eat, so basically you get up, shower, wash and clean your teeth etc..and then try and do nitnem before you start anything else. If doing night shifts or graveyard shifts, then you have to adapt and change your body clock in line with your living and sleeping conditons so obviously 2am to 6 am amrit vela won't happen because you will be at work!! And some cologne/after shave is fine but there won't be any need for rings or bracelets. I'm not sure why you would be tempted to wear such jewelry unless it is a simple sarbloh ring or something with ek onkaar on - like the one's you get from hazoor sahib (I have worn one of these only for many years)

Veerji You got some good ideas there. The SGPC is too corrupt to ever set up a charity as you suggested. The SGPC is just a glorified gurdwara committee which talks much but does very little. Only a takeover of the SGPC by Panthic minded individuals can lead to the SGPC being put back on track. Until then my suggestion is to avoid giving any money to this bloated corrupt organisation. If you are going to India then whenever you go darshan of a historic Gurdwara in Punjab then rather than matha tek rs 100 or rs 500 then just give rs 10 and the rest of the money you were going to matha tek, give it to an organisation that you know is doing positive work in Punjab.In this way rather than relying on the SGPC to use your money in the right manner, you have control over how your money is being spent.

WJKK WJKF I wanted to start a discussion on if it's wrong to have gurbani and path on our phones. I've realized that we take our phones everywhere (a lot of the time they're even in our pockets when we go to the bathroom). So would you think that it's a good idea to be carrying path on your phone? lol btw this may seem like a silly question, but I've seen this discussion come up many times between uncles at the gurdwara.

That's right Khalsa Ji and United Sikhs are doing a great job too. I don't know if you are studying medicine but if in the future you are saving people's lives in California and sending daswand out of that onwards it can arguably be even more beneficial than losing a year out of well paid work in order to work with them. It's all about what achieves the most positive end result. But if all our Diaspora youth from Gurdwara's were sent to do seva "conscription" as the young lady below has voluntarily done, at a stroke we could cut alcohol and drug consumption and depression amongst Diaspora youth. Very true. It is unfortunate so many people died in partition, but one must wonder, if Sikhs did not clear east Punjab of Muslims, what role those Muslims would have played during the Sikh militancy years of 80s and 90s. I am not an expert on mental health, but I think it has a lot to do with fear and insecurity. I've noticed that many of the self-proclaimed masters I've met haven't enjoyed much success in the other aspects of their lives. They often are employed at fairly simple occupations and frequently have a limited educational background. Their feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy are often the reason they were drawn to the martial arts in the beginning. For example, you hear them talking a lot about the dangers of today's streets in nearly paranoid terms, as if we are likely to be assaulted at any moment or face attackers lurking around every corner. The martial arts master presents a very powerful image, one who is capable of defeating all enemies and has incredible wisdom. This master is not intimidated by such opponents or modern technology. Since it is unlikely they could actually earn rank within the more traditional styles, they are left to create their own martial arts teaching credentials. To appear even more powerful, they often adopt titles associated with martial arts masters, such as soke and shihan, often to the point of absurdity. For the same reason, you find self-proclaimed martial arts masters have purchased diploma mill degrees or simply awarded themselves with educational credentials. Like martial arts ranks, the academic doctorate title represents a powerful icon to someone who feels inadequate. There is one very well-known martial arts organization run by a self-proclaimed martial arts master who takes full advantage of these fears. For a fee, he will "register" individual applicants as sokes or founders of their own martial arts style, thus providing a sense of legitimacy and group recognition they often are seeking. In addition, he also offers various academic sounding degrees in "oriental philosophy" to members willing to pay for such nonsensical credentials. By doing so, he has not only addressed his own inner fears, but has obviously found a way to exploit the insecurities of others such as himself
