What's next stop calling Sikh Mool Mantra as Mool Mantra because hindus have their own. Unbelievable paranoia, fear and insecurity, in next 50 years our traditional names will be reduced to dust if we keep following this type of mentality.

This reference should be more than enough i beleive- fwd to 1.22.49 But do listen to full katha of jaap sahib by sant jarnail singh khalsa bhindranwale even though its 2 hrs, each and every word can be expanded into infinite gyan - ..i remember listening to full katha last year in june, listened to it over and over again for 8 hrs and made notes for myself when i revise my notes its a tiny glimpse of infine ocean, i listen to again, i feel i still don't have iota of depth to grasp jaap sahib...this bani was truly made for everyone including bhramgyanis, real profound infinite depth of jaap sahib can only be anubhav in bhramgyan, for us mere mortals we can touch the tip of ice berg of jaap sahib.

It was long time ago, I heard this story, I do not even know how true it is , but my mind sees rationality behind it. It may have happened or not, but it makes sense according to Gurmat. Some times, Guru Sahibans use some words, but we must understand the Bani, and not take them literally some times, but the mesaage they want to convey us through them. What is to be understood in summary, is that no water, no fire, no scent, no food reaches Him as per our offerings as such. If ever we want to offer Him a Lamp, let us offer Him the Light of our enlightened mind, if we want to offer Him some scent, let us offer Him the scent which really reaches Him, and that is the scent, the flame within us, of His bhakti , of His Simran... is it not that the offerings are done to reach Him, to please Him? Then, let us look aroud us in these huge vast Universe, is there anything apart His Simran and our soul which can reach there where He is? Because even our mind, which is thiner than the air and faster than the wind ....can not reach Him, what to say about material things made out from the 5 tatwaas... So let us not get entangled with outer rituals and things....our Guru Sahibans always point us to go within ourselves, there where His real temple is, and offer Him, the light and scent of our bhakti to Him alone.

WJKK WJKF I personally don't think its about whether amritdhari sikh listen to the rubbish people like jazzy b churns out, however unfortunately the youth do listen to these people. The amritdhari is already on the right path however our youth is being influenced by what these so called role models are portraying. These people associate sikhi with their vulgar life styles promoting manmatt. The Supreme Court bench heard today, that the Centre has "no problem" with the commutation of Professor Devinderpal Singh Bhullar's death sentence in to a life term. The petition filed by his wife Navneet Kaur, was on the grounds of relief due to a delay by the government in deciding his mercy plea which was filed in 2003. Attorney General Vahanvati told the bench headed by Chief Justice Sathasivam, "this is a case which has to be allowed because the mercy petition of the convict was decided after a delay of eight years". A short order will be pronounced by the Court on 31st March. This petition was filed after the landmark judgement made in January this year, when the court held that prolonging the execution of a death sentence has a "dehumanising effect" on condemned prisoners who have to face the agony of waiting for years under the shadow of death during the pendency of the mercy plea. While this has no doubt provided some relief in the 20+ years battle to clear Professor Bhullar's name, Sikh organisations and human rights activists have been calling for Professor Bhullar's immediate release, saying there can be 'no other outcome' to this grave injustice against an innocent man. Majhail Jatt Jee, say if you make a mistake when you were only 19 or 20 but then realize your mistake and mend your ways. Should that mistake still be used against you for the rest of your life? I was also very critical of him years ago and much like you I also did parchar against him. But over the years after seeing the parchar he does, the Panthic stance he takes when all others are hiding or too scared to show opposition to the Indian government I don't see a reason to do a character assassination of him any longer. He has certainly earned my respect.

Yeah, boycotting the elections was a disastrous decision. It literally lead to the downfall of the Kharkoo movement. Baba Manochahal had great political insight and wanted Sikhs to not only win on the battle field but also on the political field.

Why are we terming Guru Granth Sahib Shabad's and Dasam Granth Baani paath "Jaap Sahib" as SIKH GAYATRI MANTRA? I have heard this name Sikh Gayatri Mantra for the first time, Mahapursh will be doing all this Paath, but I never heard them calling it SIKH GAYATRI MANTRA. Tomorrow, we will say how to do SIKH JAGRATA, SIKH CHOWKI etc. etc.

You hit the nail on this one ji. As a Sikh teengaer, I can say that Gurdwara's all over the world have to go against these bad influential punjabi singers or movies by talking about them in gurdwara because there needs to be awareness of this vulgar music or westernized punjabi movies promoting caste or whatever being spread within our community. Like ome have mentioned before, So many damn Punjabi singers are just doing a couple religious songs than go back to who they really are. Its sad to see punjabi singers even like K.S. Makhan who is Amritdhari to be promoting Ravidassias in his songs that include Khalsa Panth or something similar. All of it is for money and fame these people just want more attention and what can we do about it?

A Khalistan with a 'Goveronment' will be no better than India. Khalistan should be run on the political sytem instigated by Guru Har Gobind- 5 Takht's. Government is a British creation we must drop. We have become institutionalised by British ways and we must learn to think outside the box again.

LOL every groom comes to the wedding wearing a turban with a kirpan so hard to prove. A lot of women prefer non turbaned 'sikhs' these days but banning them from the anand karaj is perhaps a step too far as then they will say why is the other person allowed to get married in the Gurdwara who is amrit dhari but eats meat and then the meat debates start etc etc LOL. I think the real issue is not that all sikhs are allowed to marry at the Gurdwara but that many girls prefer guys that are non turbaned. If girls prefered turban guys they would all be tying turbans.

If the girl has postive experiences of her Dad and Brother wearing turbans then she's more likely to be attracted to a boy who has a turban. If her Dad and Brothers are monay, then she's highly likely to be attaracted to a monay boy. If here Dad and Brother wear turbans, but are plonkers, then she'll probably not want to marry a boy who wears a turban. The issue is deeper than the girls vanity, some of it may be based on a lame collective portrayal of the modern male Sikh image by modern male Sikhs themselves. Saying that, I know a few girls from complete non-Gursikh backgrounds who married Singhs because they admired the inner and outher qualities of the Sikh roop.
