God Almighty Himself makes them utter Hau apahu bol na janada Mai kahya sabh hukmayo jio. (SGGS, 763) I don’t know at all how to say this I say only what is commanded to me.

  3. Sorry but what? Do you know what Universal entitles? It means it can be practice in any region of the universe. Many religions are confined to the Dominion of Earth as many of their rules and regulations ARE Earth based. Sorry but lol. No Human's aren't. A European isn't born into a Caste, he only gets put in one when people like you start allocating it. No it's not. Gurbani and Guru Sahib once again prove you wrong. But since you're a Brahmgyani you know best. You do know why their mentioned right? Maybe if for once in your life you read a bit deeper you'd realize they were used to illustrate a point. E.G A Brahmin would seek Knowledge so the Gurbani can grant Knowledge. That doesn't mean that only the Brahmin can gain Knowledge. Anyone can. The same way Guru Nanak refers to Waheguru as Brahma in one verse to illustrate the creative nature of god. NOT the God. The same way Guru Sahib says A WARRIOR can gain power from Chandi Di Vaar. HOWEVER that does not mean that no one else can. It's used as a metaphor to point out to the people at the time how potent that said Bani is. Many if you stopped taking things out of context and actually explored it deeper you would know that. Yes or NO. did the Guru Sahib's bodies practice Caste. Why do you keep avoiding that Question. It's not difficult. This isn't an intelligent discussion. This is you proclaiming you know more than Gurbani as usual. It's mentioned Time and Time again that the body of a Saint is pure. Time and time again it's said that the name also manifests in people's body. And time and time again you say that pure naam has a caste. lmao.

  6. Back in the day, there use to be Gurbani Kathaa in the morning and Ithihasic (historic) kathaa in the evening at Gurudwara Sahibs. Both are highly important in a Sikh's jeevan. Gurbani is obviously paramount and without it there would be no ithihaas. Taksali Mahapursh give the example of Gurbani katha being the soul and Ithhiasic katha being the body. Alternatively, you could think of Gurbani kathaa as the plans of a building but the building itself representing ithiaas. We can only learn how to apply a Sidaant (Principle) of Gurbani by delving into lives of our SatGurus, Bhagats and mahapursh. Every action and event from our Guru Sahibs lives were based on a Sidaant (Principle) of Gurbani.

  7. Thanks Simran. We have to ignore her rants because she is an imposter. No Sikhs will adore devis and devtaas nor go to wash their sins in ganga maa devi like her along with the ultimate mistake of questioning Gurbani.

  8. There is no doubt, as per Gurbani, (we) any ordinary person can become one with God. This is the difference between what Gurbani offers us, in comparison to other paths or philosphies .... And that too, not only after death, but right now while alive. For that , we need two conditions : 1st) His Grace, and 2nd) putting into practice Gurbani/ Gurmat/ Sikhee. And so, what does the Bani says or how does it confirm the above assertions: Following are the most beautiful words I have ever read: Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. The Bani says: whosoever repeats His Name, becomes one with Him. And this means, we merge our surtee in Him, our single ray of our soul, in our origin, the Sun. The rays emerge from the Sun and come out for a certain time, but in the end of the day, the Sun pulls back that ray in itself... In the case of Guru Sahibans, Brahamgyanis, they behold the Light of Wahiguru while they are present with us, without any perceivable outer signals, but with the perfume of Naam, which only some wadbhagee noses(jeevas) can smell. This is the greatness of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Wah wah Sachay Patshah.. Sat Sree Akal.

  9. First of all, you make the mistake of treating Bani as simple poetry. Bhagat Kabeer says in Gauri Raag of Guru Granth Sahib: ਲੋਗੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਇਹੁ ਗੀਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਹੁ ਤਉ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥ People believe that this - Bani - is just a song, but it is Brahm Beechar Guru Nanak Sahibs following tuks in Maajh Raag of Guru Granth Sahib clarify that God himself ordered Guru Ji to start their mission: ਹਉ ਢਾਢੀ ਵੇਕਾਰੁ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਹੈ ਕੈ ਵਾਰ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥ I was a minstrel, out of work, when the Lord took me into His service. To sing His Praises day and night, He gave me His Order, right from the start. In case you have doubts about the Divine Origin of Gurbani: ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਹਹੁ ਕਢਾਏ ॥ O GurSikhs, know that the Bani, the Word of the True Guru, is true, absolutely true. The Creator Lord Himself causes the Guru to chant it. (Raag Gauri, Guru Granth Sahib) ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ ॥ The Bani of His Word emanated from the Primal Lord. As the Word of the Forgiving Lord comes to me, so do I express it, O Lalo. By myself, I do not even know how to speak; I speak all that the Lord commands. (Raag Suhi, Guru Granth Sahib)

  10. We're being a little judgemental here. Nowhere does he profess to be a gursikh or anything similar. He has the roop of a khalsa but if he was to cut his hair we'd all be crying patit and what not. Why isnt he a good role model? His taught us that we can be anything in the west. That our roop doesnt hold us back. This guys doing pretty good for himself. Granted, hes a little misguided, needs some well needed sikh education but then who doesnt? He comes from canada. You either strike it lucky and stay close to your roots or you go way way off. Atleast he isnt committing gun crimes or theft or smuggling drugs in the back of his truck or i dunno. Massive generalisation there but hey ho. My point was, hes made mistakes just like the rest of us. But we're all aiming at him when theres the likes of honey sing, jazzy b, malkit etc etc etc badal lol the list is so long

  11. Separation is an illusion. Reading gurbani one will clearly understand that Guru Sahibs without any doubt knew we are always united. Most of us live now in the unconscious experience of that unification. It is also possible to live in the physical body in conscious union with All That Is; in the conscious awareness of the ultimate truth; in the conscious awareness of who you really are. If ones belief is based on separation he/she will experience life as that superior, inferior, up down, here, there, judging, condemning........you are here there and everywhere all the time because you are it. There is only one of us.

  12. I believe the Sakhi took place in Dera Baba Nanak. It's part of the janamsakhis which have been compiled. It's one of the more consistent ones too. Guru Nanak Dev Ji did disappear for 3 days and when he came back he proclaimed all man is equal and one. That was when he started uttering Japji Sahib which was handed down to him by Akal Purkh. Guru Nanak used to bath in the river every morning for Ishnaan I believe. A thing to note is that Guru Sahib's body disappeared too, During the time after he passed his light onto Guru Angad Dev Ji. So it's all that plausible.

  13. According to the Rehet Maryada (going by the Akal Takhats one here) A sikh is everything you descibred. I believe the requirements are 1) Believe in one god 2) Believe the Guru Granth Sahib and the previous Human forms of Guru Sahib are you're sole Guide. 3) Believe in the Amrit Sanchar Guru Gobind Singh Ji prescribed. The problem arises in interfaith marriage when a Muslim or a christian comes before Guru Sahib. A Muslim believe the Prophet Muhammed is the last Divine Messengar from God, No other Messengers can come after. As a result they violate one requirements. A Similar thing is there for Christians. Even if we don't believe in the Rehet Maryada and consider it flawed (some do), The Akal Takhat which is essentially our Parliament has passed this degree. We're duty bound to obey it even if we don't like it. That's why anyone conducting interfaith Marriages is going against that command of The Akal Takhat. For all we know they might decide to change it but as of now that is the defining of a Sikh they have set out and that is the one we must follow.

  14. You both sort of have a point. Akal Purkh is formless, so he hasn't got a mouth or a form to havea physical meet and greet. I think Balkaar is right in the sense that the divine words came to Guru Sahib. Like it or not that was God "talking" in the sense we do. Guru Nanak was taken by Waheguru to Sach Khand. What went on there is between Guru Sahib and his divine Father is what we can speculate. My belief is that Japji Sahib (the way it's uttered) was Guru Nanak Dev Ji describing to us the entire meeting, going by how Guru Sahib mentions so much of creation, So Japji Sahib was given to us by Akal Purkh through Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

  15. Majority are non believers but come from Sikh families. If you think the Five Ks were ONLY given to the Khalsa, but for whatever stupid reason, we so called Sikhs pick and choose as we see fit and wear the Kara to show we are Sikhs. BUT with that same hand we wear that Kara we drink, smoke, rape, steal, murder! The point of the Kara was to remind one of when we go to do those things, you see the Kara and STOP in your tracks and refrain. But is that what it's doing? no we care not, unfortunately

  16. I agree, a balance between the two would be ideal. Admittedly, methods of naam Simran and discussing spiritual methods to connect with God would be quite abstract, but surely they are as essential as telling the sangat the same historical account of an event over and over... and over again, I.E. Bhai Bidhi Chand and his freeing the horse and their subsequent escape; as wonderfully inspiring as it is, so many kathavachaks retell that story that it's lost all impact IMO.

  18. Sorry but no one in their right mind would focus on what caste who came from. Common sense dictates you focus on gurbani, the history of the sikhs and what our Guru Sahib's did. like it or not but it was completely separate. What part of Everyone is born without a caste is hard for you understand or comprehend. Sikhism isn't Indian, It isn't even earthly. It's universal. The caste system functions only in India, Sikhism broke out of it. But you love to drag the Sikhs back into it. Sorry but why do you keep avoiding the question if our Guru Sahib's bodies had a caste or not. I keep repeating it but you never give a yes or no answer. It's a simple question. No hidden tricks or anything. If you read Gurbani It refers to our Bodies as temples to Worship god. are you saying our Temples (aka our bodies) are actually based on castes or have castes? Guru Sahib had the most pure body ever. How can you sit there and defile it by linking it that backwards drivel. You're now saying that the Bodies they used, the temples they represented are nothing more confined to Maya and this world as well? There's nothing in anyone genes that tell them what caste they represent. Sorry to disappoint you but our Heritage is What happened to Sikhs. Not what happened to Khatri,Brahmin etc. Hate to break it to you but Punjab-ism isn't our Culture, Sikhi is. The caste system is a product of Indian/Hindu Society. Not Sikhism. We have members from all different parts of the Earth, all you're doing now is dividing the Punjabi Sikhs into castes and then segregating the new members as well. Rather than creating a society which makes the caste system redundant you want to keep bringing it up and reminding people that their confined by it and as always totally confining them to a set norm. Guru Sahib abolished it for that exact reason but you want to bring it back because as usual you're a Brahmgyani that knows more than any MahaPurkh that walked the earth

  19. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fetah. Let me first start by saying congratulations on trying to embrace Sikhism. I know what you're going through in a way, Thoe Bad things that happened. Learn from them, what caused them? what actions did you take for them to come to this? Once you evaluate what was causing you stress, Now you thank waheguru. Firstly for giving you the strength to get through them and secondly for providing (in a way) a path to put you back in line with goodness. Being lonely is a really horrible curse. You need to surround yourself with Positive Sangat. The people here, we fight, we bicker, we act like children. But we're all in a weird way connected. We get angry at each other, say meaningless things but at the same time in nearly everyone here, the love of Sikhism has bound us together. If you're ever lonely come on here, take part in the discussions. Learn from us and then teach us if we are doing wrong or getting something wrong. In real life don't starve yourself of Company. We should keep the company of GurSikhs and those who have a positive influence in our life. Find friends who are kind, caring, tolerant and have a good worth Ethic. Surround yourself with such a nature that the goodness will also absorb into you. Attend the Gurudwara as much as you can. Even when it's not "open" and by that I mean no Akhand Path or the sangat is almost gone from there. Attend it, go upstairs, do Patt in the presence of Maharaj, do seva there and then also attend during open days. Do Seva, talk to the Sevadar there. I'm sure there are people who can help and teach you what you need to know. Feel free to PM some of the members here. We have some right gems who knows quite a bit about Sikhism. Check our the Videos on youtube by BasicsofSikhi. He explains everything and then uses Gurbani to back up where he is coming from. As for keeping Kesh. I would suggest you start the process of keeping it by slowly going into it. Right now (in August) things are hot, so i woudl advise let your head kesh start to grow. BY the time winter comes it should be a decent length and since it's cold you'll instinctively feel better as it provides some sort of warmth. You're beard and hair in other regions will be harder. Of course you can go straight into it and with Maharaj's kirpa you might adjust to it immediately. But if you feel that appraoch is too sudden, Let it grow as slowly as possible. Slowly let it become a part of you. I hope this helps and im sure there will be more answers here to come from Sikhs who know more on this matter. Good luck

  20. Maybe you should go to a Hindu site preach the caste system Yet i just pointed out that Non-Indian people wouldn't know. They would say Sodhi and then think family name. For god sake why is that so hard for you to accept that sikhism is universal and not Indian LOL. carbon dating let you determine the EXACT year of a certain artifact. By doing so you can easily determine which time-line it fell to and if it correlates with the legend or not. Not to mention there are hand-written documents by the Guru Sahib and Pothis. Not to mention handwritten pieces of Gurbani,Hukamnama and other items such as his Kaccera. Now this is the part where you say it's all false and they belonged to other Sikhs. DNA Forensics can now let you compare the DNA of 2 people and see how much their related by. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's descendants are still alive. retracing the DNA tree is a a tedious but doable task for anyone who's committed to proving a lineage. Do you know why people Don't doubt the existence of Guru Sahib? why science doesn't deny it's existence. Because we have artifacts from most Guru sahibs and the final 7 human Guru sahib were all related. Comparing DNA can pretty much let you confirm if their all related or not. Yes and I then changed my tone and accepted it. I accepted Gurbani. You refuse to do that. You consider yourself perfect. simran and I just posted Gurbani after Gurbani. We posted stuff from People who are wiser than her or I. Yet you ignore it all and just pust it under the rug. Sorry but you can't say I ignore Gurbani when it's actually you doing it. Yes or no. Did the Guru Sahib have a caste or not in their human forms. Why do you keep running from the question. Not gonna bother replying if you can't even answer a simple question.

  21. Yes because in Harmandir Sahib we have idols to various gods and we pray to them Gonna be frank here but are you stupid? I legit just went through Guru sahib's family tree where HE POINTED OUT HIS GENETIC TREE but never his caste. I just showEd you there are other beings in other where there was no mention of a caste existing. But as usual you neglect and ignore Gurbani and tree it as nothing more than glass to push under your carpet. Maybe if you paid attention in a science class you'd know they have various methods to Authenticate Everything. carbon dating, DNA forensics and even the chemical make up. But as usual you're the only 100% right person here lmao. what do all these people and above them Gurbani know. Sorry but what? lol. Yes tehy are a part of Khalsa but THEY DON'T PRACTICE CASTE, IT'S NOTHING TO THEM, THEY DISCARD THEIR CASTE. why is that so hard for you to accept. You must really be dense if you decide to ignore Gurbani and just listen to whatever you feel is right. Yes or no. Did our Guru sahib's bodies have a caste.

  23. Maybe you should stop mistaking a Gurudwara for a Mandir. We're the one with the Guru Granth Sahib Ji and total equality. Just thought I'd clear that up. Actually (like always since you refuse to gain proper knowledge of anything worthwhile) you need to reevaluate everything once again. SCIENCE can prove people's gender, max height, hair colour. EVERYTHING Akal Purkh Gave you. so now look at it and find out where the caste system falls in the genome. you can't compare the caste system to Akal Purkh as Akal Purkh is vast and infinite. ask a scientist to prove infinity and they'd just laugh you out of their work place. Yes it can. through Genetics, records and actual Artifacts used by Guru sahib. Many of which have traces of Maharaj around. Including a comb with Guru Gobind singh ji's hair in it. Try again. You do know that Khalsa is composed of people. You can't say everyone as a whole has no caste but individually they do. hate to break it to you but the Khalsa and any member of it DONT have a caste. Khalsa is also the Physical roop of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. No sikh of Guru Gobind singh Ji would refer to their caste for anything. In other words it's not in the DNA of people and it's been concocted by people. IN other words it's not in Akal Purkh's make up of us but you still enjoy dividing people. Cool. actually the Panj Pyare discarded their castes. Completely. That was the point of them dying. Their reborn as Pure and as a result casteless. That's the point of amrit. But as usual you refuse to believe that and consider yourself 100% right So since you keep avoiding my question Yes or No. Did Guru Sahib and their bodies have a caste.

  24. You just said "other sikhs do it" you then went on to assert that becuse of that it's fine. Rather than going to Gurbani which points out how pointless that is. This might come as a massive shock to you since you don't bother trying to read a little more than the Pamphlets you're hindu instructors give you. But science can't prove nor disprove god. Not all scientists are hard-core Atheists. Science is the study of the Physical realm, now bear with me while I get a bit more technical. It tries to explain HOW things happen, how Gravity functions, how life progressives from simple prokaryotic cell and so on. Gurbani doesn't contradict this. And what did I just say to you? actually scratch that. what did Gurbani say. The KHALSA HAS NO CASTE. Why do you choose to challenge it all the time. Why is so hard for you to accept that Caste System is redundant in Sikhism. I just literally broke it down for you to the point a small child could understand. But you're Hindu Priests really seem to have brainwashed you well. Let me ask you another Question. Would you refer to a prisoner from the Concentration Camp Auschwitz by their prison number. And how many times do I need to spell it out for you. Gurbani says. It.is.FALSE. Why do you struggle to comprehend that. You clearly think you're better than Gurbani. Those are obvious Characteristics. do you look at someone and then brand them into a certain caste? what a judgmental person you are Waheguru blessed them with a gender, height, weight. Sorry but Caste isn't so obvious. So please break it down. Look at someone's genome and find out where it states which Caste they are. You can break down a Genome and find out someone's sex. It's written there X-X = woman X-Y = male. So now look for Genome which states which caste someone is. For the caste system. Go ahead, prove it. We've all posted Gurbani, learned sikhs but you ignore them all. Right now the only person exhibiting any Hukar is you. You refuse to admit Guru Sahib abolished the Caste System because you're probably happy with your caste. Now answer my question. DID THE GURU SAHIB HAVE A CASTE OR NOT. YES OR NO. Also would you ask the Original Panj Pyare what their caste is by the sounds of things you would. Because she think she's infallible. We just listed sources, gurbani and provided evidence. But it's all mute to someone who thinks their completely right 100% of the time,. Only reason im bothering is so people don't read her dribble and start falling into the Caste System once again.

  25. Many hindoos mistake hate for exposing superstitious and ridiculous belief systems. Hindoo in of itself is a term that means thief coined by the mughal invaders. In my prehistory to modern history class we learned about the evolution of a very loose system of beliefs that become more structured with fascism and other superstitions in order to keep society in line. In effect it was a great way to oppress the average person and ensure the social hierarchy not be changed. Many of the avtars that hindoos worship lost their lives in very human pursuits and didn't get a chance to meet The Supreme. They would have become Sikhs if given the chance. Since the time Guru Nanak Dev Ji refused the janeau and exposed the hindoo panfits and brahmans of their superstitions and insults against humanity many pandits and brahmans have tried their best to turn Sikhi into the fold of the new evolution of Brahmanism called Hindooism. If you know how to use the search system, there are many posted rehitnamas that are fake and doctored that were around the time of Guru Sabin and even shortly afterwards that were written by Brahmans or Pandits of the time. Sanatani are you that goofy looking south Indian dude from the UK with long hair and anime hindoo god pictures? Think your name was Rishi Hunda or something like that ?

  30. With the help of sikhsangat (watching/reading/learning), we saw the dire need of community prachar or some sort of school system where we can give basic sikhi education to upcoming generation. Finally after going thru 10+years here, me and my close friends decided to take lease on a 3000 sqft building to run the community center for dharmic purposes. It wouldn't have been possible if sangat here didn't share their views on important issues. This is one small example.

  31. I'm sorry, but once we are brahmgiani? I'm sorry but that is something I could never say to myself, I wouldn't even think of myself or comparing myself to a brahmgiani. I would prefer to say, please God bless me that my forehead touch, actually not even touch, a place where their lotus feet went by, Waheguru ji apne charna ch jaga mere Mathe nu deo, even that would be if they grace it, not by my any doing. Brahmgiani status is a very high position ji.

  32. It is not that simple to judge anybody´s consciouss level, or let us say spiritual heights, when we ourselves are nobody, means no authority. We do not even know what is going to come next in our minds the next second, and we are judging .... This is human nature, we see all / everything, as per our square limited perspective Well anyhow, from what we have seen and heard from the Bani, which is supreme Truth, we can say gods, prophets, angels, devtas, etc ..... are nothing in comparison to the Bhagats mentioned in the Bani or even our very own Guru Sahibans. The difference between these two categories, is that, while the first ones, come to establish righteousness in the world; the second ones, come for the liberation of the jeevas from the mayavee creation, in order to reunite them with Wahiguru Akal Purukh, with the power of Naam or Shabad.. Thanks to Gurmat, we understand and accept even the former ones, as they have a role to play in the creation; in a way we become conscioussly mature. Because nobody can come or do anything, except by His Hukum. So even if we do not follow them, or believe their teachings, because we have the Bani with us, we do not fight them, or demean them, it is wrong to do so. Because, they are just functioning as per how they were designed to do, by the Supreme Master Director Wahiguru Akal Purukh, of the play of the creation. We are not all aware, of how lucky we are, by being under the shelter of Gurbani. We have to be firm in our faith, but at the same time tolerant, and feel pity, not krodh, nor slander, for those who are not in sikhee or Gurmat. If by chance we speak or talk of sikhee with those who have no clue of this path, we should express ourselves in a natural manner without trying to impose, because, what matters in the end is His grace, not anybody´s attempts; and then just leave it. If He wants, that person or people shall be pulled and will come to the path, not per our wishes, but as said before, when their time to become reap, comes. There is nothing in the whole creation, as our beloved Guru Sahibans. They are the doors, through which we reach and merge in Satnam samundar, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. They are the source of all Light, Bliss and Gyan Sat Sree Akal.

  33. Agree with MisterrSingh ji a person cannot literally turn into God, but a brahmgiani can have divine qualities. Gurbani already tells us God is everywhere, Jale hari, Thale hari. By just realising this one does not automatically become brahmgiani. Anybody could say I have realised God is everywhere, but that doesn't mean they have become a brahmgiani does it?

  34. Yes thats them. As someone else here pointed out "Shere Punjab started off with good intentions and did a lot of good work. But later became involved in drug dealing, protection scams, intimidation, etc.." , as radio stations often do.

  35. By becoming a brahmgiani does one become God? So there's the original God and others? Or is it one gains God-like qualities or becomes one with God? A person cannot literally turn into God, surely?

  36. Talking is somewhat too...underwhelming I guess. Talking requires a mouth. Waheguru has no mouth as he's formless I guess. The most we can say is They communicated, as like you said no one really knows the Specifics. Except Waheguru.

  37. Maybe you should look up some of them before passing baseless statements as usual. The Dasam Granth also uses the bull that supports the Earth according to some Hindu Beliefs as a means to convey how devastating a battle was. I GUESS NOW THERE ACTUALLY IS A BULL SUPPORTING THE EARTH. Let's ignore Japji Sahib where is deemed false So yes or no. Did the Guru Sahib's body have a caste. Just specify. I just posted Gurbani which states that a saint's body is pure. But you're defiling it by adding a caste onto it. SO YES OR NO DID THE GURU SAHIB'S BODIES HAVE A CASTE OR NOT. Only person with any hankar is you who decides to change Gurbani and Guru Gobind Singh Ji

  38. 2 and 3 are key. Believing in Guru Sahib means having faith in all Gurbani and this of course means Guru Gobind Singh Jee. The concept of Amrit grates on folk who spew nonsense that it's just inner love that counts for God. A kathakaar once said, 'should a tree have weak roots, it is bare on the outside'. If one has true belief in their master or king, there is nothing they would not do for them and they would at least attempt to follow all hukams prescribed and this to me describes a Sikh.

  40. In most Gurdwaras, in the morning they do larivaar katha of whole SGGS in order (a shabad per day). Some Gurdwaras just do the hukamnama Then in the evening Suraj Prakash Katha is to be done or other historical katha.

  41. VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH For historical context, Granthi Sikhs in Gurdwarae used to not conduct an Anand Karaj if either or both of the wedded to be were not Amritdhari. Both had to become Amritdhari for the Anand Karaj to take place and for the Granthi Sikh to agree to conduct the ceremony. Slowly, it eroded to the Granthi Singhs getting a pledge from the weddded couple that they would soon become Amritdhari. Then it eroded to the Granthi Sikh stating that Anand Karaj was for Amritdharis (and not getting a pledge from the couple to become Amritdhari). And then, you have today, where anything goes. Next, we will have a human-animal "Anand Karaj" booked and hue and cry over the equality of all creation will be brought forth in support of letting the "Anand Karaj" take place.

  42. Im not saying Sants never have done Gurbani katha. im saying why is it not the main focus all the time during a katha. instead we have story telling as main focus. we have the 100% authentic word of Guru Sahibans but we put it aside and focus mainly on stories. we should use stories but they should be secondary not primary. this is the reason i believe why most Sikhs dont do Simran. if we focused mainly on Gurbani we would easily pick up that we have to jap nam to get to Waheguru.

  43. Well in a nutshell the Abrahamic Prophets claimed that God literally spoke to them and entrusted them with the task of relaying their almighty dispensations, word for word, to the unenlightened masses. The Gurus never claimed this about themselves. Waheguru is not something you can have a chat with. The Guru is the Truth, and these mobs of prophets are liars and fabricators.

  44. The military commander Massa Ranghar of Mandiali village was put in charge of the Darbar Sahib. He was the most active of the Chaudries engaged in capturing and destroying Sikhs. The Harmandir Sahib was turned into a place for debauchery with nauch (dance) girls being housed their for Massa Ranghar entertainment. The use of Naquills (water pipes) was by then a daily practice for Moslems, so the odor and smoke of tobacco, a substance which Guru Gobind Singh had forbidden his Sikhs to use, now filled the halls of the Sikhs' most Holy site, the very rooms where the beloved first Holy book and the SGGS had enjoyed Prakash for years. Alcohol in wine and other forms, forbidden even by the Moslem's own Holy book the Qur'an, now flowed freely as Massa Rangar and his friends enjoyed the dancing and other activities that the nautch girls were famed for. For the Sikhs whose Bani and Holy writings forbid the use of alcohol totally this was one but one more final insult. The news that their sacred Gurdwara was now being used as a Seraglio, with wine and tobacco staining its walls and floors soon fell on the ears of a group of Sikhs living in Jaipur in Rajputana. Bhai Mehtab Singh a GurSikh of Mirankot, a village near Amritsar, was one of the first to hear this alarming news. Astonished and angered by the news he questioned the man who had just relayed the story: "You have heard of this outrage to the sacred place, and yet you still live and go about telling this news to others! Why did you not kill Massa then and there? Is there no Sikh left in Amritsar to avenge this evil?" "No", replied the messenger. "There are no Sikhs there with a greater sense of honor than those who have run away to places like Jaipur in order to save their lives." The messenger's taunt stung Bhai Mehtab Singh, a brave, strong minded and stout bodied young man, like the sting of some deadly dessert scorpion. He bolted up at once, took his sword and said: "I shall go and cut off Massa's head with this sword, and bring it here!" He saddled his horse and got ready to gallop away. A bystander who had heard the news as well Bhai Sukha Singh of the village Mardi Kambo ki offered to go along with him. Mounting their horses, they took off towards Amritsar. When they reached the sacred city, in August 1740 they noted the Mughal outposts, so they took some time to disguise themselves as Muhammadans. They filled two bags with well rounded pieces of broken earthen pots. Each of them placed one of the bags before him on the horse. They looked like harmless Muhammadan Lambardars who had come to pay their land revenue. They entered the precincts of the Gurudwara. To the guards they said, "We have to come pay land revenue to our Chaudri." Their ruse worked and they were allowed to go into the compound of the Holy Temple. Tying their horses to a ber tree outside the main gate, the ber tree to the which horses were tied still exists, and carrying their sacks of payment they entered the room where they saw Massa Ranghar. He was seated on a cot, smoking a hukka, they could tell that he was intoxicated with wine. With half closed eyes he was listening to the music of the dancing girls. The sight made their blood boil. Bhai Sukha Singh stood watch near the door. Bhai Mehtab Singh went in and fell on the tyrant like lightning. With one stroke of his sword he cut off Massa's head. Massa's companions were taken by surprise. They ran about in terror. Before they could recover from their surprise and shock, Bhai Sukha Singh and Mehtab Singh had made good their escape and galloped away. The very sword used to decapitate him is in the Ajaib Ghar at Darbar Sahib, I stood there watching it in amazement!!

  45. He was no innocent journalist. He was full of hatred of the Sikhs in and out. During the Punjabi sooba movement, he instigated Punjabi Hindus to disown their own mother tongue(Punjabi) for Hindi. He would write inflamatory articles against the Sikhs and equated Punjabi to Sikhs and Hindus to Hindi. Many Sikhs died for the Punjabi sooba movment, he would not only justify it but also encourage it. During the 1978 massacre, between the Sikhs and Nirankaris(a heretical sect), again Lala played a very prominent anti Sikh role. He was not even there yet he lied by acting as a false witness against the Sikhs and even lied by claiming Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was at the site when he wasn't even there. Following his lead, all the prominent Punjabi hindu journalists began taking the side of the Nirankaris. Now this was a conflict between between Sikhs and a heretical/devient sect. So it should be considered an internal Sikh matter. Why were Punjabi Hindu journalists like Lala Jagat narain playing the Anti Sikh role in this? He went out of his way to act as a false witness! he used his position as a prominent journalist to write and act as a false witness against the Sikhs during this tragedy. Then he began distorting the image of Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Pen is mightier than the sword they say. It's true. If that pen comes into the hands of a liar and hate monger, it can encourage Deaths, massacres, police encounters, tortures as was the case here.

  46. No one can harm Guru Sahib full stop. It is the sentiments of Sikhs that get hurt and if someone disrespects our parents we either put up with it or take action. This no doubt depends on the harshness of said words. Actions are louder than words and deserve a more suitable response.

  47. So you do not think Guru Gobind Singh Jee was not given the most disrespect when the journalist was killed in the name of Guru Sahib and in his roop? Do you think in their afterlife, Guru Gobind Singh Jee is going to reward them for taking the life of another human being? You NEVER murder someone over words, only if it was in the protection of another.

  48. Do you not think you're taking this too seriously? Sure he's not behaving as he ought to, and his music is awful, but he hardly deserves to be sparked on sight.
