  1. It's not a sincere apology. I notice there is no apology for removing the elderly Singh's dastaar and throwing it on the floor, this was clearly caught on camera. Also the MET Police were informed before the protest not to interfere with articles of faith including kirpans, they are trying to make out they didn't know. Most of the problems were the fault of poor preparation by the police , insufficient crowd control control cordons and barriers for the number of protestors, this is what caused overflow into the road. They were probably trying to provoke a violent response from the crowd on purpose so that they can justify heavy handed tactics and discredit the protestors by alleging they were violent and aggressive. Indian PM Modi us visiting the UK very soon the MET police are keen to show the Indian government that they are able to stamp out out dissent and anti indian government protests. Recently when the China premier visited, MET police were very heavy handed with a pro democracy Chinese protestor a survivor of the Tianamin Square massacre, they also raided and searched his house... Just for protesting outside the Chinese embassy when the China premier was in the country. Economic interests and trade deals will always come above human rights, justice and truth.

  2. I think some people are kind of missing the point of this thread. In summary, the original topic title wasn't a derogatory statement on black people, but instead their treatment as a collective in the U.S. prior to and during the Civil Rights movement and everything that period of upheaval entailed; the kind of treatment perpetuated by the authorities that caused the OP to draw comparisons between their struggles and those faced by us at the hands of a hostile Indian government. That's how I interpreted it anyway.

  3. Then we play that old chestnut with authority where they do what they like, and afterwards go 'Oh, sorry we didn't know. We do apologise.' And docile apnay go: 'Aaahh, they are so good.' Then, when it suits them, they'll do it again. Sikhs have the memory of goldfish when it comes to goray, And they know it.

  4. The system of Sikh governance is this that one Jathadar leads but he has Panj Pyaras that he consults and who if needed can step in. This is the system created by Guru Gobind Singh Jee. When he made Baba Banda Singh Bahadur the leader of the Sikhs, he also gave him Panj Pyaras who he must consult on matters. The Panj Pyaras are Guru roop. So the Akal Takht Jathadar post must remain but the post must be occupied by a Sevadar of the Guru not a Chamcha of Badal or any other politician. This is the system that should be adopted in all Gurdwaras, 1 Jathadar and 5 Pyaras. In fact, when Khalsa Raaj is established, this is the system that must be adopted.

  5. Here is some guidance on this wider subject of sevadar from Sant Attar Singh Ji Mustaneywale: One who feels like giving a lecture should refrain from doing so. But one who does not desire to give a lecture should do so. For one who like to give a lecture,he does so to feed his ego and cleverness. But one who is not inclined to lecture, the Lord himself comes to his assistance and swords will come forth from his inner soul. [What use is chanting, and what use is penance, fasting or devotional worship, to one whose heart is filled with the love of duality?O humble people, link your mind to the Lord.Through cleverness, the four-armed Lord is not obtained] [set aside your greed and worldly ways.Set aside sexual desire, anger and egotism.Ritual practices bind people in egotism;meeting together, they worship stones.Says Kabeer,He is obtained only by devotional worship. Through innocent love, the lord is met.(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji 324)]

  9. from my research the jathedar of akaal takht has always been a nihang up until british created sgpc. personally i would like to see baba nihal singh ji harianbela.. reason being he is soo saintly with a soldier attitude..shows so much nimrata aswell as standing againt tyranny.. he is jeenda shaheed took bullets for maharaj, also stood with sant jarnail singh ji and got tortured when most nihang dals did not get involed in 84...i respect this man... he is also politically astute which one may deem to be a 'sell out'..its not about josh bravado but intelligence which guides josh eventually leading to bravado.. well thats my two cents..lol...vaheguru ...vaheguru...vaheguru

  10. Bullsh!t apology, didnt even mention the main beadbi, which is of the elderly singhs pagh which was ripped off deliberatly, n then they stick an asian officer (y not white?), coz it'll please these dopey 'santa banta sikhs' into gettin all giddy over a rubbish apology! Thats wat these Metropolitan police r sayin, coz as a part of a fascist organisation, they know how to play all singhs, patel's and khan's. Perfom racist/fascist acts, then for apology time, they stick a person of the same colour to perform a sub-standard apology!

  11. If it was not for Singh Sabha the Sikhs would not be around today. The rapid decent into Hinduism would have continued. Mahants and their prostitutes would what you have found in Gurdwaras , if they had not already sold off the Gurdwaras as their personal property.

  14. It wasn't Badal who did this, it was the Singh Sabha movement that bought the birth of SGPC and the corrupt voting system. They were not clever enough to realise they were handing over control of Sikh institutions to the Government. Badal himself is a puppet of the Indian government, remove him and the government will put another in his place and the cycle continues. Akal Takht and Sikh institutions must be freed from the corruption of SGPC and true true panthic sewadars need to be put in place.

  15. You guys do realise that the post of Jathedar has been politicised by Badal and as such a renegade or non-political person will never become Jathedar. The position has been tainted and is meaningless now, or for as long as the Badal dynasty sees fit to keep their oar in Sikh religious matters. Only a man of his choosing will ever occupy the post.

  16. You are right, these sells outs and traitors do seem to be from one particular section of the Sikh community. Sukhbir Singh Kapoor runs the so-called World Sikh University in Harrow and in 1984 he wrote a book against the operation Bluestar and yet a decade later he was running off to India to receive some award from the Indian government. In fact in 1984 his family's journey to the protest against Bluestar operation in London in June 1984 was featured in a news report from that day. Most of these sell outs run organisations with big sounding names such as British Sikh Association, Guru Nanak International education trust etc and yet consist mostly of the same sell outs, one sell out is a general secretary in one organisation and the founder or patron of another and the trustee of another. This is a case with all their mickey mouse organisations. It is time that the general Sikh community take these sell outs to task and question what right they have to claim to be community 'leaders' and welcome a mass murderer on behalf of the Sikh community.

  17. Many, if not most of them, are not as true Gursikh as you might imagine. Just as an example, all of them have the most obscene petrol eating environment destroying monster jeeps that they swan around in. A true Gursikh however, would understand and follow the teachings of Sri Guru Har Rai ji. Guru ji taught us about the fact that Waheguru is the trees, the flowers, the soil, the water and the air. Guru ji taught us that to destroy them is the same as destroying Waheguru. Guru ji taught us the fact that destroying the environment...for example cutting down trees in order to build big mansions....will have a knock on effect on the water table. A negative effect on the water table means fertile lands turning into infertile lands. Infertile lands without water means problems for the farmer. Problems for the farmer in Punjab means social problems throughout Punjab. Do you see where I'm getting at here ? We need to ask ourselves just what kind of 'Gursikhs' are these that blatanly pick and choose which of their Guru ji's teachings they wish to follow and lecture on and which they choose to ignore ? What kind of great gyan do these gursikhs have if they don't even have enough gyan to understand guru ji's message about our own responsibility towards nature ? It's as easy as pie to become Amritdhari and learn shabads etc. Easy as pie. Easy as pie to have the appearance of a Gursikh. Having the appearance of a Gursikh and knowing shabads etc is however, not the same as being a Gursikh. A true Gursikh is very hard to find among Punjabis because Punjabis are tainted with Punjabi culture and Punjabi culture and true Sikhi is incompatable. What we find among 99.9% of Punjabi Amritdhari Gursikhs is merely the illusion of being a Gursikh. As I've stated 3 or 4 times already, this poll here on this thread is fundamentally flawed because it does not give the option of a non-Punjabi, perhaps western Gursikh as jathedar. We need that option because such a jathedar will have none of the tainted Punjabi traits but will have 100% of Sikhi.

  20. Well now. You've all changed your spots haven't you ? It was only a few months ago here when you were describing the brave Sikh women of Canada that confronted him as slags and the men that accompanied them as 'missionaries' : http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/77178-sant-hari-singh-randhawa-wale-controversy/ I think the lesson here for all of you is to stop throwing the missionary label around so liberaly. Many a time, it comes back up and bites you where you don't want to be bitten.

  21. I think some Sants are just stuck on the wrong side. They know Badal is wrong but they don't want to go against their group(Sant Samaj). It's like the Mahabharat war where many good people know Duryodan is wrong but they still side with him against the good guys. Sant Samaj needs to do the right thing and break all links with Badal or else history will not be kind to them when our kids and grand kids will read about these events. They are already being shamed by Sikhs today and when they die what face will they show Guru Sahib when Guru Jee asks them what Majboori they had that they became friends and allies of a Panth Dokhi like Badal.

  23. Graphite and Charcoal drawing of Maharaja Ranjit Singh with his generals. It took about 110+ hours over 12 days on A2 (420x594mm) paper.Which is for the upcoming Sikh Lens Exhibition in LA in November 2015. Maharajah Ranjit Singh Sandhawalia (November 13, 1780 - June 27, 1839), also known as "Sher-e-Punjab" ("The Lion of Punjab"), became the first Sikh Emperor after uniting the 11 Sikh Kingdoms of Punjab on the foundations of the Khalsa and under the banner of Sarkar-i-Khalsa, from 1799-1839. He was also the first secular ruler of the punjab region in India. So had soldiers and generals from all races and religions including a few european generals. So this Drawing has his two most well known sikh generals 'Hari Singh Nalwa' (right) and 'Akali Phulla Singh' (back left). And two of his european generals were french 'Jean Francois Allard' (left) and the other italian 'Jean Baptiste Ventura' (back right). Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa (17911837) was Commander-in-chief of the Khalsa, the army of the Sikh Empire. And was one of the greatest military leaders in history. Hari Singh Nalwa was responsible for expanding the frontier of Sikh Empire to beyond the Indus River right up to the mouth of the Khyber Pass. In 1831. He served as governor of Kashmir, Peshawar and Hazara. And He established a mint on behalf of the Sikh Empire. Akali Phula Singh (1 Jan 1761 1 Jan 1823) was a prominent and highly respected Akali Nihang Sikh leader. He was feared by the British who at many times ordered for his arrest but were not successful. During his later years he served for the Sikh Empire as a direct adviser to Maharajah Ranjit Singh. He remained an army general in many famous Sikh battles up until his martyrdom in the battle of Naushera. He was admired by the local people and had a great influence over the land[4] and his settlement was always open to help the poor and helpless. He was well known and was a humble unique leader and prestigious warrior with high character. Jean-François Allard (1785 - 1839) was a French soldier and adventurer. In 1820, Allard left for Punjab, where he in 1822 entered the service of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He was commissioned to raise a corps of dragoons and lancers. On completion, Allard was awarded the rank of general, and became the leader of the European officer corps in the Maharaja's service. Allard was a charming and gentle man, very different from some of the other European mercenaries in the Punjab. He also took the trouble learning Persian, and is said to have composed poetry in his new language. He continued to serve the Maharaja until his death in 1839. Jean-Baptiste Ventura (25 May 1794 3 April 1858) was an Italian soldier, mercenary and adventurer who ended up in the Sikh Empire in Punjab. In 1822 He travelled east, ending in Lahore with Jean-François Allard. They took service with the Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab, and soon got to prove their worth. In March the following year, both Allard and Ventura held command in the Battle of Nowshera where a combined Afghan force was defeated, resulting in Punjab's capture of Peshawar. Together with Allard, Paolo Di Avitabile and Claude August Court, Ventura formed the group of European mercenary officers responsible for the modernizing of the Sikh army. Ventura was highly thought of by the Maharajah, and in addition to the rank of General, he was also appointed kazi and Governor of Lahore. He served faithfully under Ranjit Singh and his successor, On Mahārājā Sher Siṅgh's assassination in September 1843, he left the Punjab. Taking his fortune with him, he lived out his days in comfort in Paris, where he died on 3 April 1858. https://m.facebook.com/757948990886082/photos/a.758133187534329.1073741828.757948990886082/1143146652366312/?type=3

  24. I also think we need to be careful of some white western converts baggage too, I mean I'd be worried that they'd start advocating gay anand karaj's and stuff like that. They have very 'liberal' attitudes towards these things. That's not to say that we Panjabis don't have our own baggage of crap we bring in btw.

  25. Who ever is the Jathadar should be completely independent of any political party. He should be Gianvaan, Shastardhaari, Dharmi and who does Bhagti. But one thing is for sure as we have seen, who ever is Jathadar, the institution of the Panj Pyaras should be strengthened so the Jathadar consults them on matters(instead of politicians) and in case he does anything that is against gurmat, the Panj Pyaras could step in as the recent Panj Pyaras of the Akal Takht have done.

  26. I can't deny that it is the London Borough of Ealing (which includes Southall) that has shown itself to be the biggest anti-Sikh sell-out traiters but what you failed to comment on Hammertime, and is something far more telling and worrying, is how 90% of the sell-outs on the list belong to the Khatri community even though they make up a tiny 2% of the British Sikh popullation and how 100% of the Sikhs that the Queen has awrded an honour to are these Khatri sell-outs.

  27. Stupider than racism itself are people with such low intelligence that they do not possess the mental capability to figure out for themselves the deeper context and meaning behind a message. For example, someone like yourself who wasn't able to see how I used official Indian government figures to highlight how the exact same damning statistics affecting blacks in America also apply to Sikhs in India. We both....Sikhs in India and blacks in America....both occupy the exact same position in which the system sees us as sub-human and thus takes away our liberty and the public sees us as sub-human and thus takes away our dignity. In the case of the blacks in America, the racist system justifies the status quo by seeing the victims as sub-human "ni*gers". Thus, a thread of solidarity with black people in America in which stats are published showing we too have exactly the same level of institutionalised racism in India. And of course possess the exact same number of uncle toms too. The lesson for you then, singhbjsingh, is to educate yourself a bit more. Understand context in a thing before wrongly misunderstanding a thing. So, once again, according to official Indian statistics, we suffer the same amount of institutionalised racism in India as the blacks do in America. We are officially 3 times more likely to lose our freedom than a Hindu, despite the fact that no Sikh belongs to one of the millions of official hindu 'criminal tribes/castes' and Sikhs do not have millions of homeless that have to steal to survive. Take things like that into account and the Indian system is around 800% more likely to take away the life and liberty of a Sikh than it is a Hindu. Hindus = 240 prisoners per million people Sikhs = 840 prisoners per million people
