  1. The best way to learn sikhi is to discover it yourself and not through indoctrination or forced to by your parents. I always hated going gurdwara and to this day i dont enjoy the gurdwara experience because its not about the guru, and theres no learning going on over there. Its just a pakhand gathering a social gathering of gossiping aunties and uncles who want langar. There is nothing there for the youth to engage their minds about sikhi or for new sikhs to learn about the faith. Gurdwara in the UK is one of the last places a Sikh should go to learn their sikhi, best place is the library and journey of self discovery read read and read more especially the japji sahib. The apostates who mistaken left sikhi because they were brainwashed by western media to be atheists in mindset and were forced to be religious sikhs by their pendu backward punjabi parents. They were never were shown the beauty and preciousness of the faith or had the IQ to learn their faith..... rather they were forced to live out a pakhand and learn the negative attritbutes of punjabi/indian culture thinking that is Sikhi. If you see the so called former Sikh people who become christian videos they always talk about hindu idol worship culture or black magic culture or thought 10 Sikh guru's were 10 Sikh Gods???? whereas Sikhi is against all that....its like what faith were they learning at home? They were learning ancient backward hindu punjabi culture and faith all those years growing up and naturally they rejected something that didnt make sense in their heads or was a relevance in their lives. But its a good sign to see these atheist pakhandi's leave the faith and those who studied the religion like new converts to sikhi from various backgrounds join the faith and add new energy and pure practice of the faith rather have those negative traits of hindu punjabi / indian culture of sikhs from subcontinent origin.

  2. Even kids know how to act in the gurdwara than these people. I don't have no words to describe them. All they know white slave mentality, wait these so called tough ladies and so called self righteous bunch of singhs become scary cats when facing cops/judges, white man with authority - but sir, yes sir, no sir, but sir he started first. One of ways is to deal with tribal cultural non sense is have diverse crowd in the gurdwara in terms of sangat, they would never come out of their shell out of embarrassment, they have major inferiority complex when it comes to diverse crowd but with their own they show they are tough bunch.

  3. What does that tell you about human nature? A belief - whatever it may be - whether it's supporting the idea of a creator, or vociferously against the concept, is the common denominator in both situations. Of course, I don't think atheists will murder anyone for the glory of Science and Rational Thought, but the aggressive way in which they promote their doctrine is quite amusing. They don't see it like that, obviously, but the similarities are there.

  4. What I find quite ironic about aggressive atheists is that they can be just as dogmatic as the religious people they accuse. Richard Dawkins is a perfect example.

  5. And what exactly do you think it is that a billion Hindus have been drinking every ;Holi; for the last 2000 years so that they can lose their senses and do nonsensical things ? Any Sikh that thinks a substance that makes you lethargic and lose your perception of time and space as well as hand/eye co-ordination is usefull for a warrior in the heat of a battle where he has to swing multiple weapons and be aware of multiple enemies....in real time, is seriously deluded.

  6. in the big picture it is sad but it is truly an addiction. I dont think it will make you feel good in the end if you are wanting likes and comments on your physical saroop. We r missing the point work on inner beauty and that will shine. Hard to think this way but God gave you this body kind of foolish to be Proud should be grateful thankful to the creator not boast and show off

The Planet is going to Hell in a handbasket at the mo ... being prepared is to be well-equipped - that's is why I feel all parents should now the enemy i.e. drugs go onto frank.com and understand effect, signs and symptoms. Many people don't realise their kids are being approached in primary school to try stuff ... (by friends or hangers around ) , same with knowing social media acronyms sexttalk so you can understand exactly what you saw. Learn survival skills it's all good stuff This is in the vein of Dasam Granth's warnings of treachery of mayadharis (Chaitropakhiyan) via getting into discussion of the forms it can come in ...or are you squeamish about that approach ?

  11. but these abusers are not using as Guru ji taught it is a medicine for post trauma /surgery so the problem is of misusing gift of pain relief/medicine which slows blood loss just for getting a 'legal' high (in terms of sikhi) I use it in homeopathic dilutions for my patients so I wouldn't personally know of the buzz but I have seen people who are treated with it get better from their ailments. There are two types Sativa and Indica creating the current hybridized tree http://www.leafscience.com/2014/06/19/indica-vs-sativa-understanding-differences/ http://www.leafscience.com/2014/08/15/sativa-vs-indica-types-marijuana-infographic/?utm_source=mantis&utm_medium=recommend&utm_campaign=mantis

  12. yawn who cares. Anyone can pretend to be anyone on the net and social media. Just learn to ignore these idiots unless they create direct attack profiles on Sikhi and try to convert our people then its a different issue.

  13. There is colonialisation of the mind taking place here. Just because Christians have a religious tradition of their places of worship being serene, silent buildings it doesn't mean they can force those same traditions on me. Just because the Bhuddists have a reigious tradition of their Temples being serene, silent buildings it doesn't mean they or anyone else can force those same values on us. Don't let them colonise your minds. We have our own traditions. Our traditions, in our places of worship, involve calls to arms, loud war drums and even an order from our Guru that any Sikh that comes to see him in our holiest places of worship MUST come fully armed to the teeth. They have their traditions.....We have ours. Don't let them force their values on you. You are not second class human beings. Your traditions and values have just as much validity as theirs. We don't try and push our values onto them by saying they should copy us and allow weapons etc in their places of worship......an neither should they. When they do, you should have enough ankh and pride to tell them where to stick their traditions.

  14. Some days back, i asked my hindu colleague who follows a 'babaa' that why ur baba calls girls alone into his room? His answer was that this is his leelaa and I wont understand his leelaaa. Then I asked him why Krishan had so many goppis ? His answer was same that this was his leelaa? Then I asked him why Krishan told Arjun to lie in Mahabharta ? Again same answer it was his leelaaa. I feel this word 'leelaa' is being used to finish off intelligence of common people and to make them to submit to fake babas and devtas.

  15. I read somewhere that doing chaupai sahib the path about 7 times each day can help you stop getting such dreams. When you are ill you do have lots of strange dreams. Dont worry just stick to doing path - to the maximum whatever happens - dreams or no dreams.

  16. Your dream may be as a result of some good deed you have done in the past. When I read the story of Bhai Rama Singh Ji - he was born as a Hindu and was sort of lost despite having been Guru Gobind Singh Jis sikh. Because of one bad deed he had been sort of cursed to be born as a Hindu. He cut his hair and was totally lost - searching for the true path. When he fought his temptations - Guru Ji gave him his darshan. It was so powerful that it changed him. He came back from the trip he was on and put on a dastar and became a devoted sikh. Guru Ji is there for everyone, sinners, saints, drinkers, murderers - people of all religions. He has no complaint against anyone. We get what we work for. The fruits we reap are from the seeds we sow. The video above tells us how Guru Gobind Singh went to the crowning ceremony of the son of aurangzeb - who had given orders for the shaheedhi of Guru Gobind Singh Jis sons.

  17. Lol at all the salty replies from Gursikhs who haven't had darshan (albeit in dream form) of Guru Ji, despite their best efforts, yet this alcohol-drinking, cut-haired guy gets to be in the company of Guru Sahib for a few moments. The envy is palpable! How do you people suppose the lost and rudderless are shown the light if they aren't aware the light exists? To the OP: you're being a shown way out of the dead-end that is your current life. Grasp the opportunity with both hands. You're one of the lucky few that receives such unambiguous messages. Don't let the envious few on this site put doubts into your mind that it was some random Singh you were chilling with. Don't kintu-prantu! Next time, keep such occurrences to yourself. For answers, search your soul. Only you'll know if it was real or just a random set of images. Good luck.

  18. the worrying thing in my mind is , the GOI raided our treasury of purataan documents once before in 1984 days after the attack and again Sikhs are bewakoof and surrendering their itihaasic haath likat Purataan saroops of Guru ji and Dasam Granths to Sikh Ref Library mark 2 after being begged by SGPC ...this time our history WILL be removed wholesale ... WHY are sikhs so slow to understand that each was safer being kept in individual families , getting full satkar , sewa rather than being placed in locked rooms only being seen by ??? Anyway getting back to point , some of the purantaan saroops have been digitised and may be available from punjab digital library. Besides one can find online resources for Dasam and Sarabloh granths

  19. It seems that while being in the 21 st century, still there are mentally retarded wicked people who want women as their slaves. Wicked ones....... Women are to be taken care of, and loved as mothers, sisters, daughters and spouses, if only we are true Veers. The duty of a veer, is not only a being a male, but completeing that veerta, with care and protection of others, just as women and children. This does not mean, women can not defend or support themselves, but it means, to be gentle, polite and attentive with them, as men we are. I usually say, that it is because of women, we men learn to love and become somehow humans; otherwise we are brutes by nature, and thus we just think of quarreling, vanquishing all others, or of dominating them. The souls have no gender, they are drops of the one same Ocean Wahiguru Akal Purukh. He is the only One Truth. Just as batteries are energy units, which if placed in a baby doll, or a toy soldier, are the source of their motion. In a similar way, any soul in a male or a female body, does not accquire any of those genders , which are related to the gross body, and end with it. And that energetic unit, continues with its true nature or essence, even after that body has expired or ceased existing anymore. So, it is a wicked and a dictator mind, which makes differences of any kinds in humans .... When the fact is : Sabh meh Jot, Jot hae soee. His Light shineth in all, and He is the source of all Light. Sat Sree Akal.

  20. Most people are pushed away from sikhi not because they find faults in sikhi (sikhi is flawless dharam), but rather the way its presented to them by our community with its own cultural political divisive baggage.. It's bit unfortunate they were unable to see pure truth -sat - sikhi behind all baggage. They cannot be fully blamed for it as partial blame lies also lack of parchar and our sub standard collective consciousness of our community which has gone slumber down totally contrary to gurmat ideals enshrined in akaal ustat/gurbani. Sikhi is turiya (fourth dimension- non dual pure consciousness knowledge ) path its total non dual way of being, cannot be confined to only cultural baggage/community/judeo abhramic notions etc.

  22. How can the children of ignorant parents start taking responsibility? When there is no talk of Sikhi in a family, how on earth can the children learn to be one? Children are not even taught their mother language Punjabi by the so called Sikh parents and you expect the children to know Sikhi.

  23. nah they are more aggressive and the deen and caliphate/triumph of the ummah is all ...same way they are cramming kids into backstreet madrassey despite lack of safety and monitoring of the adults teaching ... When Sikhs were in touch with their itihaas they encouraged their kids to be warriors , when they fell into maya's charms then they discouraged their kids from Sikhi let alone warrior-like character.

  24. Leaflets and papers with bani and pictures of shaheeds were being given out. Many people didn't want a leaflet but were given one anyway by sevadars. Then I saw the same leaflets on the floor being stepped on with bani on them. I picked all the ones i could see up. Just a benti please don't print bani and pictures on leaflets. Just think about what people do, throw it on the floor.

  26. Its indeed position of indic spirituality that world is indeed leela - drama or illusion including our own sikh spirituality. This is not mere conceptual statement but rather meditative experience of one consciousness are transcending worldly attachment, sense perceptions, mind- maya, thoughts. However i agree, i don't agree with people abusing the term leela due to their lack of thinking outside the box, cognitive approach, lack of free will. It's another way of ego coping out and follow shep herd mentality. We have direct deep profound questions/riddle asked by sri guru gobind singh ji in akal ustat which supposed to be deeply contemplated/meditated upon: http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/76477-akaal-ustat-beautiful-questions-riddles/

  27. You're right, We on this forum also have no shortage of people burying their heads in the sand whenever an important/controversial topic is raised, and twisting the Sikh principle of accepting God's will to justify their servile and unquestioning natures. Guru Ji wants his Sikhs to ask those questions that need to be asked.

  29. I guess we have progress with even discussing training. Not long ago hordes of Amritdharis were under some illusion that they don't need to train to improve their fighting abilities as their paat would be enough to instantaneously give them superhuman strength when a violent situation or war suddenly ensued.

  30. Wow you've lived a long time and my my what a long memory you've got...hahaha As long as man has existed,so his ego has caused him to attempt leadership of his equal man. After Baba Bahadur Singhs Khalsa raj, Ranjit Singh used considerable skill to unite a fractious 12 misls. The moment he was gone, the British were easily able to buy anyone to do their bidding for them...and have left that legacy for anyone else to utilise ever since. Of course the committee system is a remnant of our colonised past but...even in the panj pyaraa system, there is division and ego, don't kid yourselves there's not.

  31. Yogic meditation is showmanship - it's becoming popular because sitting in a lotus pose makes pretentious Western people feel profound and spiritual. As for Kundalini, it's predicated on the whole idea that there is some energy coiled at the base of the spine which needs to be awakened and redirected elsewhere. A glancing familiarity with Sikhi should be enough for people to conclude that these activities are not in keeping with the humble and simplistic spirit of Sikhi. This. unfortunately, is also why Sikh meditation will have a hard time catching on. It doesn't appeal to people's small minded need for theater - they want cool poses and zany eastern music in the background. All one has to do to enter Samadhi is empty themselves of everything but the Naam for a few moments - you can do this sitting on a sofa. It requires immense willpower, but it helps if you chant the naam out loud and surround yourself with brothers and sisters who are doing the same.
