  3. Hindu was just a term used for those residing past the Indus river. In many ways, this was the border into India for invaders. After a while, it kinda just developed into Hindu.

  4. It should cost money or no one will take it seriously. The money however, should be put to panthic uses

  5. A professional online Sikhi based school. Question for parents with young kids: What it would take you to have your child enrolled in the online school on top of their regular school? What level of support do you need to get you and your kid to participate? Does cost matter? Does self-paced course/lesson better than Live programs? Question for general sangat: Should there be any tiers in the program - Advanced, Intermediate, and Novice Should it be Free of Cost or basic cost such as monthly fees to cover running cost? Should it be more focused on those community members who are not in touch with Sikhi (Not going to Gurdwara sahib regularly etc)? Would appreciate views & suggestions on the above ... Gurfateh

  6. With maharajs apaar kirpa beant kirpa, I have been doing my nitnem and practicing to tie a dastaar and become vegetarian. I still can't properly tie a dastaar yet. I have been begging for Amrit for so long. Some days I feel so upset because I still haven't been blessed with Amrit. But I do manage console myself with telling myself to be patient and have trust. I really don't know but at this moment I feel my soul is dying without amrit or without maharajs bani. Any bani, keertan, simran that I recite, I feel it's not enough and I can't get over it. I just went to the gurdwara yesterday and I feel like running there back again. I will wait for maharaj to do his kirpa. Sometimes for paapi like me to walk on Maharaj's hukam is quite hard. I know maharaj has heard me and will definitely fulfil my one and only desire to take Amrit.

  10. Parent 1. Obviously it depends on the content and the aim of the school. It would be good to have all aspects of Sikhi in one place which has authenticity. No too much pressure for them to learn and churn out material to sit exams. It would be more of quality rather than quantity . 2. Support level , to get a clear understanding what will be taught and the kids and parents expectations right from the beginning. 3. Yes Cost does matter. We have 100's of Gurudawara who should have a budget set aside to invest in the kids and our future generation. So ideas such as this can be researched and developed without thinking about funding. If the cost was reasonable I would pay plus as already mentioned if free its not taken seriously. 4. Self paced is good , but there needs to be a facility where questions can be answered. May be have one or 2 live sessions and the rest self paced. Sangat 1. Yes there should be tiers , but I think most importantly the material should be authentic. As theres a lot of online material , which ones are good resources , average and bad . 2. May be set up some kind of certification structure for sikhi which over time is recognized and can be used by individuals to train/educate other members of the public. Like many certification courses , they cost but not too much ( starting form £10 plus) The task should be to get as many people doing the online courses as possible, then the price can be low and you will cover your costs. 3.It should be focused to all the public regardless of their background. Made available to businesses ,schools, colleges, universities as part of the establishments diversification program. You have organisations such as Basics of Sikhi , Rajoana TV , Sikh Network etc.. who are doing a brillant job of explaining about sikhi. Tap in to them , make it a collective journey as you may find , they may already have a structure , resources in place , they just need a proper online presence. Reach out to the Sangat who have gyan about Sikhi via social media and Gurudawara , as there are many Scholars out their. Why is Basics of Sikhi successful , because they keep it simple , easy to understand and follow. As a parent one of the biggest hurdles for kids is speaking punjabi. Having dialogue with their parents/grandparents . My younger one , hardly speaks punjabi , but what I have found is sikh stories helps a lot. May be have online live sessions where sangat speak punjabi , general punjabi so at least they can particpate in conversations with the elder generation.

  12. These underground tunnels have been described as DUMBS, Deep Under Military Bases. A few years ago I read that 'aliens' provided advanced technology (huge cylindrical machines) were used to create these cities across the world. Claims that they could dig miles of tunnels in a very short space of time, were made. Access was said to be through Area 51, the top-secret military base in the USA. I also read that the people living there were soul-twins and each human on the surface had a twin underground to replenish the population if it was every destroyed. These advanced humans communicated via telepathy.

  15. Yea my apologies, should've asked about different vegetarian foods from different cultures. But as vegetarian must say can't complain about the nutritional variety that's out there. It could get pricey though. But sometimes simple roti is the way to go. Was starting to see a little trend in our community regarding veganism but that's too much in my opinion.

  21. I don't eat meat and I haven't tried many different things but yes I'm open to eating foods from different cultures. Tried a few snacks made by a Gujarati, think it was called a Dokla and it was horrible! I spat it out! Our neighbors are Tamils and they give us food and I really don't like it! but my dad likes it. Thai curries are nice. Pakistanis make really nice food, but they use a lot of meat. I used to try different things when I used to eat meat because there's obviously more options. Not sure what its called but Pakis make brown rice with small pieces of chicken in it, its nice Its different to how our lot make it. Pakistanis meat dishes are better than Indians meat dishes! I ate at this Lebanese place a few times, different kinds of kebabs etc was nice!

  27. We ran out of space again. Probably a bug with the new upgrade or server needs fixing. We are still looking at the cause. But in the meantime, the files were moved to a new location to make space so it might have broken profile pics etc. One more thing to look at ? I guess.

  31. There are a lot of things people don't know. There has been a lot of conflict between Nihangs and Dhumma recently. This recent attack on Banis read and popularised by Nihangs is just a part of this on going conflict between the two sides. Giani Thakur Singh spent more time with Sant Kartar Singh and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale than Dhumma ever did and is one of the most vocal advocates of Brahm Kawach. While Dhumma has done some good things which should not be ignored such as the promotion of Dasam Granth, Bikrami Calendar, building a Gurdwara to Sant ji at the Sri Darbar Sahib complex but rajniti/politics is not one of his strengths. Sometimes he does things which make him and Taksal look bad.

  32. Sri Gurpratap Suraj Parkash Granth is a masterpiece in its own right. It is important to note that some accounts in it do not conform to the teachings of SSGS. When Kavi Santokh Singh did katha of ten Patshahi’s, he had helpers who helped to put this katha in to written form. It is important to note that some of these helpers were Devi worshippers. So, they would’ve tried to make Guru Ji look like a Devi worshipper. There were some people who took opium, and so told Santokh Singh that Guru Ji did too. This was the best way to cover their own shortcomings...by associating Guru Ji with it!!! A man named Sahib Singh was bribed by the British to claim that Raag Mala was not Gurbani. Sahib Singh told Santokh Singh to say that Raag Mala was not Gurbani. But reading this Granth, it is clear that Santokh Singh states that this is what he was told! I am not telling you what or not what to believe, but whenever you listen to parchar from anyone, please first look in to whose payroll or agenda they are on!!! New parcharaks are paid vast amounts of money to break the Khalsa spirit!!!

  33. In some gutka sahibs there are errors because of printing presses so I suggest if you want to buy a gutka sahib buy a Bhinder Kalan gutka sahib because they are all checked after they have been printed they are checked by Mahapurakh Sant giani Mohan singh Jee khalsa bhindranwale and they are the student of mahan brahmgiani Sant gurbachan singh Jee khalsa bhindranwale. So I suggest you get one from there.

  35. It never really used to bother me if it was halal! yeah Indians aren't good at making meat dishes, my dad used to make chicken curry and it was disgusting. But Indians are a lot better at making veg dishes. I used to love those thandoori naans! they were so nice. Try middle eastern food its really nice, its quite different to the way pakistanis make kebabs.

  36. Have they actually found the Ram Setu or even the city? I've seen claims of it being found but haven't seen much else. Most of the claims look fake tbh. Enlighten me if you got some reliable info.
