Rehat Maryada

I've been wondering for the past month or 2 about our Rehat Maryada. my questions are as follow:

How many Rehat maryadas are there?

Who wrote/writes them?

Did our Gurus wrote any Rehat Marayda themselves??

I have heard that our Rehat has been changing from the time it has been created. And the Rehat Maryada of SGPC that we have today is from the 1920s.

Any info would be helpfull

Waheguru.

Universal rehat meryada is of Akal Takht and it took almost a decade to bring the rehat into action and it's proved by 5piyaaees and sikh sangat all around the globe.. There are many types of rehat around, but the most universal is of akal takht.. Cauz this is the place where our guru sahib said that all political/social things will be taken care in akal takht..

Akal takht meryada doesn't goes against to anything in sikhi.. That's all i know :umm:

How many Rehat maryadas are there?
Infinity ! :D
Who wrote/writes them?

Scholars of pre-1947 area !! (after taking over the Gurdwara management from evil mahants)

Did our Gurus wrote any Rehat Marayda th

emselves??

Nope.. But guru jee wrote soo much in Guru granth sahib.. but cormal sikhs like me are too lazy to research the guru granth sahib for answers.. so Akal Takht created the Meryada as of Guidelines for normal moorakh sikhs :umm:

I don't think rehat been changing since it original date of mid 30's. Yes there's been hukamnamas like langar table/chairs etc.. but that doesn't change the original meryada.. (Correct me if im wrong)

vicky is HISTORY FREEK HE shoudl know

HAHAHA.. no no.. i don't know anything.. :H:

The SGPC's published rehat maryada to this day does not say any kind of meat is allowed. There is an asterisk next to the word kuttha going to a side note saying it means halal. Whereas kuttha means to kill. In bani the word kuttha and its derivatives are used in the term of people.. its kind of hard to halal people.. but u can kill them. There is a full article on this on akj.org i beleive.

its very contradicting.. first u say its not allow then it is said that consumin non-halal meat is okay according to SGPC. Till date they still say that eating meat is okay as long as its not kutha

Guest balwinderkaur

why cant the leaders juz reach a consensus that NO MEAT SHOULD BE ALLOWED....if u wanna eat meat dont take amrit. life will be so much simpler if such things could be in black and white instead of shades of grey.
