dear moorakh...

all those respective jathas are fee to have their maryadas...and i believe they all have valid maryadas FOR THEMSELVES...

but since as you have said there is no panthic maryada...even though the sgpc one was made with people from a variety of jathas...

then there is no panthic rules...so then it is definitely not a universal rule...

i'm not saying anyone is right or wrong..but you cannot say it's a RULE...cuz it's not a rule followed by the whole panth...

sgpc is sure as certain not panthic so nothing is a "rule" in that case a lot of things in their rehat maryada may not be followed by the whole panth. Same as other groups

I don't think sikhi is based on "rules" that you break or keep it's about love and how much love you really have and how hard you want Amrit. How badly you want to impress your Guru, how much of a thirst you have. Based on that you will do the UTMOST that you can do, and brushing your teeth or taking a shower before your sanchaar is not hard (for crying out loud)

So just do it.

show me how brushing your teeth again and taking a second shower will impress guru even more....

i would thinik that time spent doing simran or reading more bani would impress guru ji....

what in your mind means respect does not necessarily mean showing respect in someone other's mind...and unless you have anything from guru sahib that says that respect is shown only YOUR way...then you have no right to tell anyone to JUST DO IT (FOR CRYING OUT LOUD)

that jus shows the ego you have ....for you think...i'm right because i think it's right....that's ego...do some simran...do seva....let's kill our ego...

well for starters u could still do paath in the shower and whileu brush ur teeth so not bad hunna?

the guest on post 23 is trying to help ppl respect Guru Ji and taking amrit is not a joke, 100% sucham outside is also important in some ppls views so ppl shud try to be as clean as possible, only take amrit once with Guru Ji's kirpa, so no big deal running into the shower again.

And s/he wasn't forcing their views, they said ''just do it'' clearly suggests that there's no rule but their view in my opinion else s/he wud say 'u must do it'.

oh im reading too much into the words.soz if im wrong ppl.

actually...correctly speaking: a washroom is where you go to do your stuff (left-overs...), and wash your hands.. and a bathroom is where you can go to do your stuff, and bathe, and shower, and wash your hands, and brush your teeth, and do and yeah......

if you get what i mean....its kind of hard to explain, but correctly speaking, a bathroom is different than a washroom.
