Just saw this article that Manvir Singh spotted on Googlenews..

Shopkeeper: My stabbing horror

A SHOPKEEPER has spoken of the horrific moment when he was stabbed because a man had accidentally got some paint on his jacket.

Rasarajnam Vasan-jhakumar, who runs Plashet Wines in Plashet Grove, Upton Park, said his attacker had demanded money to compensate for his spoiled clothing.

The 38-year-old victim added the knifeman then kicked and smashed the shop's glass door.

Mr Vasanjhakumar ran after and caught his attacker nearby in the street, where the thug pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen at about 11am on Tuesday last week.

The father-of-two told the Recorder he warned customers to be careful not to get paint on their clothing as they entered the premises while a friend painted the door.

But the knifeman did not heed the warning.

Mr Vasanjhakumar said detectives have taken CCTV footage from the shop. He urged anyone with information to come forward.

The trader called the emergency services himself and tried to stem the heavy flow of blood from his wound by using his jacket as a tourniquet.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident.

The knifeman, who ran off towards Katherine Road in the direction of East Ham, is described as a Sikh in his late 30s or early 40s. He had a long black beard and moustache, and wore a blue turban and light-coloured clothing.

Information to police on (020) 7275 5851 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Waheguroo. How stupid can a person get! Getting upset over spilt paint then stabbing a poor guy!

So sad that someone can bring so much shame to Sikhi Saroop.

Good thing you put sikh in quotes. :D I don't feel sorry for whatever punishment this person gets. He is just like any other thug. He should be shunned back to the dark hole he came from. Does UK have a death penalty????? What a waste of life!

This is an assault on the shopkeeper AS WELL as on all Sikhs. We should be on the front lines to get to the bottom of this.

Agent provocateurs, punjabi clan infighting, and staged allegations come to mind whenever there is a high profile violent act by someone in sikh garb. However, that's usually tied to politics in some more defined way. Although not out of the realm of possibility that this is an unstable <banned word filter activated>, this incident as described is very strange and does not seem to add up.

That person also does not bring shame to sikhi saroop no more or less than the person brings shame to all humans. Be careful of the framework that the western and indian media has constructed to burden each and every sikh with guilt.

We should be active, brave, and vigilant about media handling and stereotyping for which the framework is set. But guilt is for those with low self esteem.

Serves the shopkeeper right!

Doesn't he know that paint contains alcohol?

Ohnu sharm ni ay Singh ute Sharab pa key?

It's good that the (Bir Ras) Singh was tyaar bar tyaar with his shaster; in order to punish the pappi - who pour sharab on him!

*Disclaimer for those who didn't get it: Sarcasm!!!!!*

Sad that people get overheated over small issues...

A vital element of a Sikh IS to have, Sehaj, patience, nirmarta, Love, Daya

There is this really weird "Singh" who wonders around the Stratford area of East London. He is from India and doesn't seem to work. Instead you see him wondering around aimlessly like a complete nutter all day. I saw him ask some guy for a cigarette once. He wears a blue dummala is about 6 foot, dark complexion. I wonder if it is him?
