I can completely understand the sexual abuse thing. Basically about 2 weeks ago I left my phone on the bus. I tried calling it but no one answered After trying about 10 times a man answered and he wanted me to go and meet him. I was abit scared cos I am a girl and he seemed to be filrty but it was a public place and I was desperate to get my phone back so I went.

When I go to meet him there were about 4 of his guy friends with him. They were actually really nice and friendly. However I did not stay to chat. I took my phone, thanked him and did not look back.

I then checked to see if he had made any international calls but there were none other than him phoning RANDOM people in my phone contacts. It was abit weird cos U wud call home, mom or dad but I just thought nothing of that and was happy to be safe and have my mobile back.

Then just last week I was downloading pictures off my mobile and I noticed there was also a video. I had never seen it before. I actually looked at it and I was very confused cos I didn't understand what was happening or what it was about.

I feel so disgusted, I feel like I have been abused....but only a mild form. I find it hard to let go of what I saw. I actually feel like washing my phone but that's stupid. I deleted the video but I still have the memory and the moment of my horror will be with me forever. I cannot believe I had to go through that. Also those men must have been so gundey....what a thing to do...I dunno if I shud call them decent for returning my phone or indecent people....

I'm sorry that you had to see what you saw. I really am. This is very serious. Those EDIT outht to get some real punishment for that. In fact this is sexual abuse. I don't know how old you are but this is serious. If you are quite young than it is even more serious. I would try to report this to the police if i were you. Try to rememver where, when it happened and what they looked like. Might be some cctv cameras round there.

You tell a child not to touch something, they will go after it time and time again. We should have more topics to discuss what is Sex, it needs to be brought out in the open to the Public, especially to the Youth. In fact I feel there should be a Sub Forum specifically dealing with the 5 Vices so we can all understand through Giaan what exactly they are, what pulls us towards the flesh of another, knowing that underneath this body is nothing but blood, guts, urine, excrete and bones. Open the body with a knife and is the sexual desire still there? Why are there certain parts of the body which can cause us to loose to our sense or awareness or feel disgusted by it? Did God not create that part of our body as well? Is this just our social conditioning? Why does the mind have such an attraction that can drive an individual to feel abused by it? This has to be understood first, we must understanding the root cause of this Sexual Desire before we begin to write books on it.

Sex - Is it bad or good? What is your answer if yes then you are materialistic and if no then too you are materialistic! Sex is neither good nor bad. It is energy- a divine energy. This is the way God wanted human beings to procreate else human beings could have grown on trees like fruits! Interesting just imagine girls and boys hanging like peaches and apples on trees: just pluck them and bring them home! All those who condemn sex are condemning God. All prophets, avatars- divine incarnation, rishi, seers all were born out of sex. The procedure which has been innovated by creator himself how can that be bad.

When we speak for or against sex just shows we don’t know what it is. Sex is just like any other natural force. A child doesn’t has it as the body grows the chemical and hormonal changes brings this natural attraction towards opposite sex body. As it has come, it should go away naturally one day. But it doesn’t happen because people don’t deal with it naturally. It is suppressed, repressed and when energy is pushed or repressed it changes its form and becomes more aggressive and then you have to just fight with it. And can you win from it, the natural force - Never!

Sex is to be understood and lived with open mind. Sex has been considered as a taboo subject and children specially are kept away from this subject but can the adults really do that? No, children will explore other channels to know about it and from here this tussle begins. Body wants it, society says no! and the more it is hidden the more glorified it becomes. Child grows with the repressed ideology about sex and even one day when he or she goes for sex, person carries immense guilt as if he has done something ugly sinfull. So one falls in it and yet wishes not to go in it, cycle goes on. Sex if experienced with awareness soon leads to transgression of sex.

One who is attached to body can never come out of sex, de attachment towards body and deeper experiences of meditation helps person to naturally come out of obsessive sexual behavior.

I have no clue why humans have kept it secretive. But thats the way it is, and I think as far back as we can trace, that's the way it has been. (I'm not too sure about that though)

well no body forced you to look at porn......looks like you are getting angry over your weakness (and im not sayin im not weak etc) BUT now that you have stopped theres no need to get angry.....yes its a shame that young people look at that stuff BUT its the parents who need to have more control over what their children view!............i dont think you can go as far as sexual abuse BUT im no expert on that subject.......i think you may need to see a professional because u have some issues that wont be solved by a couple of posts from me or anyone else.......i hope u get "out of hell" soon.

Of course no one forced me to look at it. And yeah, I was and still am (a bit stronger now) as weak as hell. I have no problem with admitting that. Probably due to seeds of lust planted in previous lives. But my point is that this stuff should just not be available to such young eyes! You seem to have missed that. If it were not available, its damage would have been much less I believe.

And I would go as far as terming it sexual abuse. I want to write a book on this because it is so profound. Listen, it is the responsibility of those people in power to control what the citizens can watch or not watch in accordance with what is morally right. Now how the hell is making access to such material easy for a minor morally right. I have not been sexually abused by a person but I have been sexually abused by the failure of any authority to do anything about it. Any intellectual will see that I’m right. All children under age who are watching this stuff are being abused by the system – its complete neglect of this matter.

Children need to be protected from this stuff.

There’s a difference between s£xual awareness and pornography. As Humans we will have to experience kaam in some way, we can’t escape it but we can learn to control it thorough keeping Rehat, understanding Gurbani and Naam simran.

Pornography is an instrument which adds hindrance and interference to spiritual progression and regresses us from controlling kaam. Talking from my own personal life experiences pornography encourages your desire for s£xual activity, so if Maharaj is telling us to control our kaam then exposure to pornography will never help us. What the original poster of this thread has highlighted in one of the most important issues facing us in modern society. We are over-exposed to Pornography from discreet formats to more blatant obvious formats and accessibility to pornography has never been easier. As a parent I need to be aware and take responsibility of what my kids will be exposed to and how that could potentially impact their jevaans and ofcourse that means sorting my jeevan out first.

I can’t think of any quick fix except to stay in strong Sangat and keep referring to Gurbani for help and guidance. Act as a good role model and support the people immediately around you like your younger brothers & sisters, nieces & nephews. Don’t let them think Pornography is the norm or promiscuity is normal, tell them what Gurbani says and always talk about the jeevans of great Sikhs.

I can understand your problem bhaji..porn is wayy to easyly available..its disgusting!!...have you ever noticed on games websited on the internet all the noncense advertisments and pop up windows that appear!!! eughghghg!!!...even when ur not looking for it..it seems to pop up in ur face!..and it really does affect young children who are on these websites, its quite sad really

but bhaji..ive found in my own experience that the best way to reduce 'chit' and the 5 sins...especially lust and anger is through kirtan....Waheguru...kirtan is like one of the best gifts we have..by refusing to liten to other music..bhangra..n everything else..n instead listening to kirtan almost 24/7..reallyyy really does completely change the way u think so quickly...and stay in sangat
