vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh

A friend has come forward with a question which they'd like answered by Baba Jagjit Singh Ji.

"There's a tuk from japji sahib in which Guru Ji asks a question:

kiv sachiaaraa hoeeai kiv koorrai thuttai paal ||

Then Guru Ji gives the answer right away:

hukam rajaaee chalanaa naanak likhiaa naal ||1||

But i don't understand the answer :(

If the thread starter could ask baba jagjit singh jee to explain/expand on it and record, I would be very grateful."

VEry easy the last question is?

if you read the teekas you will realise that the jap ji sahib is a question and answer session between Guru Nanak Dev Ji and different Sidhs. This is a question posed by the sidhs and Guru Nanak Dev Ji answers it.

As per the teekas of SOdhi Teja Singh Ji, Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji, Giani Sant Singh Maskin, Sant Kirpal Singh Ji and Sant Jagjit Singh Ji Harkhowalae

the easiest thing to do would be to read the translation of Giani Thakur Singh Ji's Jap Ji Sahib Katha on the forum by Namstang. it has all the veechar in there.

The Sidhs just ask, "how does one gain the truth and break the veil of illusion?"

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji say that "one should live in accordance to the will or writ of the Lord and they will be able to do this"

I m in the process of making questions for two audio segments recording for baba ji visit to toronto..one will be fully spiritual and second will be fully socio-political-economic maryada panthic questions... sant ji last visit to toronto, i had honor to ask him 90% adhatamic questions, i m thinkin of doing other way around this time all because youths are clouded with bamal boosaies(sansa's/doubts) and fight over small things which are laughable and saddening at the same time..hopefully youths understands and follows bachans of mahapursh.

Another question. Why were Tulsi Das's and Mira Bhai's shabads not included in the Sri Guru gRanth Sahib Ji when theur message was similar to that of the other bhagats.

That sounds like a question only Guru knows, to be upfront :)

i suppose my question adds onto Kam1825's...is only Gurbani from Guroo Granth Sahib Jee (including Bhagats bani etc) or other Granths written by Guroo Jee Dur Ki Bani...if a TRUE Braham Gianni writes something then as they are one with Vaheguroo then can this not too be considered Dur Ki Bani too? (i know the question that arises is how who do we know if one is a True Braham Gianni...but hypothetically speaking if we did know)

Sant Jagjit Singh Ji have already answered the above question in katha i have put on www.gurmatveechar.com

They say Gurbani has existed before the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as stated in the veer 10 of Bhai Gurdas DI Vaaran when Raja Harichand is stated to have been listening to Gurbani.

Gurbani is the words or knowledge given by the spiritual master to the devotee.

Another question is, what was the damage caused by the Singh Sabha and missionary movement to the Panth? How has it affected Sikhi and how it was practiced over 150 years ago?

    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
    • The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West. The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public. Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
