Perfume spraying

i dont cope with dhoof, agarbati, or perfume strong fragrances either, it does irritate ones senses and makes it harder to concentrate or sit for long when they are used or sprayed everywhere.

agree with S1ngh. we need to use other methods to purify the air, or less irritable ones. instead of like walking into boots fragrance counters, and getting knocked out by the strong impact of them.

I don't see the point. Just suffocates everyone. And all those chemicals cant be good. Rose water if we really have to but even then i don't see why beautiful roses should be killed just for a little smell. Would we kill a peacock just for his feathers? I wouldn't anyways, nor would i buy or use cut flowers. Planted flowers look a lot more appealing in my opinion :)

Alcohol is any chemical that contains an OH- group, that is an Oxygen bonded to a Hydrogen atom. Alcohols are present in nearly everything you consume, especially the one glycerol. Basically fat molecules are made up of long hydrocarbon chains, and the glycerol molecule forms the "backbone" of the hydrocarbon chain, so glycerol is a large component of the fat molecule which you eat everyday. Alcohols are also widely used in medicines.

The ones humans drink is called ethanol, and as far as I know does not form naturally in the human body. So basically I think this guy needs to understand what alcohol is before he says that it is bad to spray it around Guruji

This is a discussion for the Saints, not for us low jeevan Singhs. As jeevans increase the more sensitive a person becomes to understanding the subtle parts of everything. Discuss and talk amongst others about this, but its best to sit on the fence till a Gurmukh answers this question.

There should definitely be some sort of air extraction system, it would help especially on days when Gurdwaras are busy.

Im not sure about the whole alcohol argument...did you know theres several vegetables which contain small amounts of nicotine??

We should pay more attention to the reasoning behind Guru ji's Hukam. We are not supposed to drink sharaab, because it alters our state of mind. It loosens our inhibitions and makes us forget God. It can turn people into alcoholics, it can cause liver failure, and it can kill you if you drink too much (alcohol poisoning).

Perfumes, mouth wash, cough syrup, rubbing alcohol (used by your doctor before giving injection) do none of these things.

It is important to take the extra step and ask "Why?"

Exactly!!!!

Is a true sikh going to refuse a life saving injection because your skin and needle needs to be sterilized with rubbing an alcohol swab ?

-NO, I don't think so. - So there is nothing wrong with spraying as long as it doesn't physically affect anyone!
