Canadian Desi Media on Meat Eating

Recommended Posts

We are animals and we did evolve...not from other species, but from other forms of our own species.

This taught to school-age children. It is an accepted belief held by the worldwide scientific community.

Charles Darwin's theory is taught in schools but that does has nothing to do with Sikhi.

You did not reply to my earlier question.

Why are humans able to digest alcoholic and other toxic substances then?

Alcohol is a natural by-product of anaerobic fermentation. Chances are pretty good that you are consuming some alcohol when you eat dhaee (yogurt).

Sikhs are not supposed to drink alcohol because it alters your state of mind, and once again leaves no room in your consciousness for God.

Alcohol is not toxic in itself, but too much alcohol is.

Too much vitamin A can also be toxic, but it is not inherently a toxic substance.

Wow she is clearly out of depth...if such people become our parcharaiks...may vahiguroo bless us.

Now with that being said, from old traditional gurmat perspective-

In Gurmat, Guru Maharaj has beautifully/carefully blended bhagti/gyan bhav (sargun and nirgun upasana) and shakti bhav (nihang shaktism - sri dasam granth/sri sarbloh granth focus on shakti/bhaugati hungry for blood to invoke shakti/bir ras tales both in form of symbolism and partakh)..!!

I would say sikhi is 70% vegetarian than fully 100% ..i may be wrong but it appears its 70 percent veggie, 30 percent non veggie (extrovert jhatka ritual to invoke shakti of bhaugati with sri dasam granth patt/sri sarbloh granth patt)..Now that left wing nut bar lady in the video is clearly out of depth..!!

I respect you for the understanding you have about alchohal and I wont hesitate to call u brother and i will say trust me same is the case with meat. Ur medical knowledge is good but u also need to read spiritual life stories of sant/mahapurashs who knows how meat is a big hindrance between us and God. U simply cannot walk on Gurmat path with meat and u should listen to Guru Sahib and do not think that your medical knowledge is above than anyone. Guru Sahib made us and he is forbidding us from eaiting meat. Story ends here. Now its ur choice what you like to do. Listen to Guru and accept his hukam or keep thinking about ur canine.

I consider you a brother as well.

Perhaps I have not read the biographies of the sants and maharpurakhs you are alluding to. I apologize for my ignorance. Tell me why eating meat is a hindrance to God, according to them.

Brother, I am listening to Guru Sahib, but I think we are hearing different things.

Historical edict hand written by Guru Hargobind Ji.

The Hukamnama clearly states: ਮਾਸ ਮਛੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਣਾ |

Do not come near (i.e. consume) meat and fish.

(Hukamnama of 6th Guru found at Sri Harimandir Sahib, Patna Sahib)

It took some effort, but I found that this hukamnama comes from Dr. Ganda Singh's book.

There is a Prof. Harinder Singh Mehboob, who has reported that a majority of the hukamnamas published in Dr. Ganda Singh's book are fake.

Had that hukamnama by Guru Hargobind ji existed, why wasn't it included in the Akal Takht Maryada? If it is found at Harimandir Sahib (Patna), then it would be hard for Akal Takht to overlook it.

Guru Gobind Singh ji doesn't even include this hukamnama in his own 52 Hukamnamae.

Your thoughts?

Edit: Sri Harimandir sahib at Patna, not Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar
