Is Gurinder Chadha Persuing Anti Sikh Male Agenda?

If you look at her films they always protray the Indian/ asian males in a very negative roles and poor light and the so called "oppressed" indian asian woman in a postive light. She herself is from a Sikh family yet married a non-sikh latino guy...Her film bend it like beckham made fun of a traditional Sikh family and promoted a Sikh girl who went against her family. Bride and prejudice promoted an indian girl (ash rai) and white male love story where is the Indian male in positive light? There is none because its a wider agenda to hate on her own race of men.

And her new tv show on Sky living has all muslim male asian guys messing and having fun with promiscuous mostly hindu sikh girls. Why hasnt she promoted any asian muslim females with indian hindu sikh guys with them? surely isnt to hard to cast fit and funny guys from her own community why does she have to promote guys from islam and other non-sikh backgrounds.

You know if one were to meet Gurinder Chadha face to face, I doubt they could come away from the meeting saying that the woman knew very much about Sikhi. She is typical in this way of Western bohemian, bourgeois 'Asian' women, who know little of their own people save stereotypes and generalizations which they laugh about with their equally bohemian and bourgeois white friends. This phenomenon of self-hating subcontinental women is acquiring a worrying pace, and women like Gurinder Chadha are helping to perpetuate it.

My father's sister is a doppelganger of Chadha. She married a white guy and is convinced she is now better than the rest of us. We call her 'Coconut Pooji'.

As for why Hindu and Sikhs are relegated to the backseat in the British press, it is because the media in the UK has always bent over backwards to accommodate the sensibilities of Muslims. And since the media considers us all practically the same thing (we are all called 'Asians' as though we are a single people) it considers that by giving Muslims time, this should be enough to placate the rest of us, what with us being proud 'Asians' and all. I'm sure you haven't failed to notice that whenever a gang of Muslim males rapes a white girl somewhere in this country, the media, without exception, always report that gangs of 'Asian' men are guilty of the systematized violation of young white girls. In this way, an entire subcontinent, composed of Sikhs, Hindus, Tamils, Sri Lankans etc are implicated in the crimes committed by members of a very particular group.

The more Sikh/Hindu males are shown as oppressive the more accepted sexually Sikh/Hindu females will appear to be. They want to turn the Sikh/Hindu girls into the subcontinental version of"me love you long time" east Asian girls you see.

That particular ilk will never show Muslim females with Sikh/Hindu male because for all the right on, pro feministic, anti-misogyny view point they have, they are actually afraid of the real misogynists in the muslim lobbying community.

Gurinder is a scummy anti-sikh individual ...I am yet to see her produce one scene which is pro-Sikh ...fine she made money with comedies which had some domestic problems highlighted (we can't deny they exist) but she is like a bulldozer now and just trundles over all our sentiments to create drama and money . Her eyes lit up all of a sudden and she was determined to find this long lost relative. This woman is obsessed with inter-racial relationships, but I can imagine that she was secretly hoping that it should gave been one of her female relations with an african guy. Even better for her would have been a female relative running away from her evil patriarchal abusive father where she ran off with an african lady in a lesbian relationship.

Lol, absolutely agreed. It's such a twisted irony that so many poor English guys fawn over coconut Asian girls thinking they're exotic beauties and mysterious jungle princesses when these sorts of women deliberately act in such a way as to distance themselves from their roots and their people.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to inter-racial marriages, but this obsessive pro-miscegenation that is sweeping modern society is still worrying. I don't know if you ever saw a Channel 4 documentary presented by a Hindu woman and so called scientist named Aarathi Prasad? This woman, herself involved in an interracial relationship, argued that mixed race children were physically and intellectually superior to children sired by parents of the same race. Does this not reek of Nazi/ Third Reich eugenics theory? I remeber the documentary she made about finding her roots. She laughed about her dad taking amrit and eating meat and drinking after he had done so... If I ever saw the lady I would give her an earful.. And I was just thinking about this whole topic of gurinder a couple of weeks back, funny how it has come up here. She will never show a sikh man with a white girl or w.e, even if she does show sikh girls with white guys she cud atleast point out in the film etc that it isnt allowed in sikhism and the girl is simply punjabi?
