Basics Of Sikhi Vs Muslim Mugs

North American Sikhs think those of us in the UK exaggerate or even fabricate the Islamic menace. The reason they haven't been exposed to that type of behaviour from the Muslims over there is because it's still, comparatively, early days. The Muslims are still acclimatising to the US, getting their feet under the table, testing the waters. Give it another 20 or so years and N.A. Sikhs will be faced with the same issues we've been faced with since the 80's. Admittedly, not all of them are like that, but when they start to increase in number, their true nature shines through.

Canada is very left wing socialist country and they are even more politically correct than the UK which is quite worrying.

Toronto is the feminist capital of the world and the feminists in general seem to be very quiet on these Islamic misogynists.

The North American continent has CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations) which part of the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt. They cannot confront in the open so they use covert methods of infiltrating institutions.

The "affiliated" don't like Jugraj Singh, or at least support him openly, because he doesn't belong to any particular Jatha. They'd be crowing about him from the rooftops if he belonged to one of their groups. He doesn't need them. That way lies divisions, and that's not what's needed in these times.

Where did you get this from? I've known people affiliated to a jatha supporting Jagraj Singh. What causes division is when people become so engrossed in their beliefs that they begin to lack understanding of different people outside of it. Your thinking is identical to a non-religious person saying religion causes division. No, it’s not; it is people's attitude and lack of respect that does. Personally, I do not even associate myself with any sikh even though I believe in certain practices from a jatha. I respect Jagraj Singh regardless, but even if Jagraj Singh was affiliated to a jatha, I still would not be crowing about him from the roof-tops. In your mentality, how do you explain a sikh like myself that has a strong admiration for other cultures/people outside of sikhi? It makes no sense.

Are you serious? Next you will be saying Bapu Surat Singh Ji and Bhai Mohan Singh Ji are looking for confrontation? These Sikhs are undertaking the tenents commanded by WaheGuru which the vast majority of Sikhs (I'm including myself) are failing in.

I have no doubt even Jagraj Singh, Bapu Surat Singh, Mohan Singh are not perfect but like pure gold or silver you cannot wear use\wear the gold until you add an impurity such are the wonders of WaheGuru.

I rarely donate to a Gurdwara now, I donate to Basics of Sikhi, SAS, Kalgidhar Society etc. and try to attend their seminars where possible to be in mind, body & spirit.

The Spirit of the Khalsa lives on with the likes of Jagraj Singh, Bapu Surat Singh, Mohan Singh and so many countless men, women & children doing the Sewa of WaheGuru mostly anonymously!!!

Great post, totally agree with u. I rarely give to charities, not coz im kanjoos/stingy, but bcoz u cant trust em, n there r many charlatans out there. I do however give donations to 'basics of sikhi', sikh awareness society (s.a.s/bhai mohan singh).

Sikh Awareness Society has existed for a long time, yet their issue just gets worse for some reason?

The ones who live and breathe for their Jatha at the exclusion of all balance and fairness. You don't strike me as someone who is blind to someone's value outside of the affiliations they hold, be they sect, religion, race, etc. Not everyone approaches life in that way.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
