The Metropolitan Police formally apologise.

Miri Piri Foundation thank the Metropolitan Police Commander, Mak Chishty for meeting with representatives of the Sikh community and noting our representations over the Policing methods utilised by officers against the Sikh community on Thursday 22nd October 2015.

Furthermore we acknowledge the clarification and apology provided regarding two of the representations submitted.

As a number of representations made by the Sikh community during the meeting on Wednesday 28th October 2015 remain to be addressed, we are optimistic that the Metropolitan Police will seek to address all outstanding issues in a responsible and amicable manner.

It's not often police apologise, especially to a minority community, we should accept

Then we play that old chestnut with authority where they do what they like, and afterwards go 'Oh, sorry we didn't know. We do apologise.'

And docile apnay go: 'Aaahh, they are so good.'

Then, when it suits them, they'll do it again.

Sikhs have the memory of goldfish when it comes to goray,

And they know it.

Bullsh!t apology, didnt even mention the main beadbi, which is of the elderly singhs pagh which was ripped off deliberatly, n then they stick an asian officer (y not white?), coz it'll please these dopey 'santa banta sikhs' into gettin all giddy over a rubbish apology! Thats wat these Metropolitan police r sayin, coz as a part of a fascist organisation, they know how to play all singhs, patel's and khan's. Perfom racist/fascist acts, then for apology time, they stick a person of the same colour to perform a sub-standard apology!

We Sikhs have a begging bowl mentality, this us another example of it, the most ironic thing of all was that the day before the protest the Met police were on the news asking for more minorities to join, way to go, join the police brown folk and you to will get the opportunity to randomly offend people of other religions because you couldn't be bothered to educate yourselves about what the law say's.

At least they apologised, try and get Punjab police to say sorry, you'll end up in Central Jail for 25 years.....

METROPOLITAN POLICE SERVICE ISSUE APOLOGY TO SIKHS

"The Sikh Federation (UK) representatives lead a Sikh Community delegation inc Sikh Council UK and other Sikh Orgs, that attended a meeting held on Wednesday 28 October at New Scotland Yard with the Police Commander Mac Chishty and Silver Commander Chief Superintendent Colin Morgan, to discuss the Sikh Lives Matter protest at the Indian High Commission on Thurs 22 Oct. Sikhs had traveled from all across the country and there was healthy balance of both elders and youth. All who spoke did so eloquently, articulately and with a view to a positive outcome.

Jas Singh, adviser to the Sikh Federation (UK) expressed the communities concerns and asked very relevant and pertinent questions for the MPS’s Policing strategy and conduct. A key demand was an unreserved and unconditional apology for the insult and offence caused by the disrespect shown to the Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag), Kirpan and Turbans by Officers.

We welcome this video apology from MPS Commander Mac Chishty and will be following up on a number of important issues in the coming days and weeks."
