Women can’t do seva for the same reason non of the 10 Guru’s were women, non of the 5 pyare were women, 15 Bhagats who have Bani in SGGS non of them are women, there’s no historical evidence that any woman was given khande batte Di pahul in 1699.... budhal dal & Hazoor Sahib still don’t!

A number of our Gurus were given Gurgaddi at very young age.... meaning gurgaddi could be passed on to a male ‘child’ but still never a woman.

all you ‘equal rights’ banders, if you don’t like the Sikhi our Guru established please go somewhere else... stop trying to change Guru Sahibs Sikhi

The only reason why sodhi vansh become shaheedan da vansh was umaang of Mata BHani ji ...it was her sewa da phaal and sense of selflessness ... it was all the Matavan going down the line which brought those jot into human form as they were deemed more than worthy , try getting your bitterness adjusted ....Ang223

Perhaps the guru's choice to be born male is more a comment on the state of humanity than on the quality and ability of women.

They were qualified to be shaheed and bleed their last in Harminder Sahib. To think period blood is somehow spiritually impure is pretty archaic. Women do not cause themselves to bleed. That is the artifice of Vaheguru who is neither male nor female.

logically , men had greater freedoms in the world of that time ,I mean in the chauvanistic cesspool of the 15th century world women had zero power even in their homes,  let alone being free to roam as driven by the divine will to deliver the message . It took Guru Nanak Dev ji  to overturn that applecart of superstitious malevolence .

Just because they were not  Guru  that doesn't mean Bebe Nanaki wasn't brahmgiani , even Guru Teg Bahadur honoured her by establishing Anandpur in her name Chak Nanaki. It was her ardas that paved the way , never forget that and she was the first sikh , although people think mistakenly that Bhai Mardana ji was the first . She lived in hukham her whole life and propagated sikhi from where she was , whilst doing the duty given to her by Guru ji of looking after his children and home affairs.

I honestly think that people have decided to pick up the basket of stupid unenlightened superstitions of hindu mat that Guru Nanak Dev Gobind Singh ji knocked off our heads under the influence and onslaught of the majority faith and Christian mores which similarly condemn women from birth as agents of sin. To hear some speak they subscribe to brahmanical thought fully, that women have to be born as men before becoming brahmgian or moksh, Guru ji has shown this to be false many times and still does .

If a women can become brahmgiani they are more than capable of earning the daat of amrit , there's only one amrit and has only been one replacement of charan pahul authorised , that is Khande di pahul  anyone arguing with that needs to take it up with Guru Sahiban . To become a sikh one had to take charan pahul ...thus to become initiated into the sikh household one has to take pahul authorised by Guru ji . Prove that Guru ji said that there are two ... and I do not mean gurti because that is not valid in place of KHANDE DI PAHUL  , you are still expected to take Khande di baata da pahul according to the same sources describing it's administration.

For those who espose kirpan di amrit , do you really think Guru sahiban thought his daughters are weaker and thus incapable of doing full nitnem bania , to keep rehit etc then where's the difference between sikhi and the other faiths that condemn women before giving them a chance ? What about khande di pahul's requirement that both partners have to be fully rehitvaan gursikhs , if one is on a lesser requirement that immediately makes that a nonsense .

    • Hi All, I havent been on this forum for a while but I thought id give it a try again as it helped me through some rough times earlier in my life. I wanted to seek for guidance on sikhi and marriage ... I noticed a post earlier on sanjog etc. and it got me thinking about my own life and marriage. For context, I have been married 3 years and things are not working out. When we met, I looked in to sanjog alot and it felt like it was written. However, as these years have gone by its become apparent that we no longer align with each other and our marriage is struggling. We dont seem to understand each other and things have fallen apart. We are at a stage now where separation/divorce is looking like the best option. Neither of us are happy and whilst we have tried to work things through in many different ways, after 3 years we have drifted away. What are the sikh views on this? is it written if we decide that we no longer serve each other? or is that a sin and should I continue to work at it? my issue at the moment is that it is draining me. I feel withdrawn from everything due to things going on between us including sikhi and going to the gurdwara.  Breaks my heart to even be writing this but I do think if we are both not happy and cant see a way of being happy then what is the point in continuing? Or should I be continuing and is it paap if we dont honour our laavan? if that is the case, what does sikhi say about marriage? how do I continue knowing everyday I feel the way I do?   Thanks

    • I'll use this place as my spiritual journal so if anyone wants to join then feel free to! I'm not sure if this could be classed as an experience but last week (or 2 weeks ago), I felt my saliva to be sweet however I lost it after a week. I don't really regret it though, if I lost it then it's Hukam Another point, I feel my concentration to be very good for a while, I can focus on the void for a longer period of time than I could before. I also feel a lot more Anand, it's all Guru di kirpa
