I heard a Sant came to the UK back in the days and told Sangat to visit the Gurdware in India because a day will come where flights to India will be cut.  I can't remember his name now.  I'm guessing that will happen during/after India's nxt major war.

Just out of interest- when one gets to this level, how do they go about normal life eg work, being a parent to kids, school run. Or are they generally elderly/single/whole family is into sikhi

Ive heard an analogy. Sants are like teachers who assume ignorance to teach students but in reality theyre aware of the teaching material i.e. the teacher explains it to the class as if theyre learning the knowledge themselves with the students

Just like that mahapurash assume a lit bit of worldy mindset in order to do worldy tasks or help ppl not in giaan. But their state/dasha stays ones in waheguru

Maybe a necessary moment to stir and awaken those of us labouring under false assumptions and delusions.

interestingly there was a speech by some singh in the ranks of bhindrawale , he was addressing the humungous sikh sangat gathered there, and he had said the baahman has ulterior motives for the sikh panth and he mentioned how sikhs donated tons of gold to hindu mandars but now baahmans sitting on throne of delhi have their eyes on gold of harmandar sahib and i remember him saying "darbar sahib da sona hun desh da baahman laahvega(will remove)"

and this was back around early 80s

Focusing on the gold is, with all due respect, kind of missing the point. If the significance of Harmandir Sahib fails to stretch beyond the shiny, precious mineral used to cover its surface, then we are in trouble.

nowhere did I espouse the sentiment that gold is all or even significant in the spiritual worth of a sacred place as sacred as darbar sahib.

However gold on harmandar sahib belongs to entire sikh panth, and in a hypothetical scenario of losing it is also bad enough .

Sikhi believes in miri piri right ? so gold represents the miri part there .

also one side effect would if darbar sahib were not golden , it would also cause a decline in people attending there which will in turn decrease the earning of guru ghar to keep multiple charitable afloat . Money is an important means of the world, don't let anyone tell you otherwise !

Not you personally, just the idea that Sikhs seem transfixed by the gold of it, and seem to gloss over the other more important aspects of what the place represents.

As far as I know no one can see future it would be against the law of God. All the stories of brahm geyanis telling about future are made after their death. Our kids would be sharing same stories for the present sants which we know cant see future.
