So the cow is more respected than other animals in Sikhi then, interesting. Another example of Hindu influence creeping in to Sikhi from Nanak's Hindu followers perhaps...

Nope the cow is not given a special value in sikhi. For example in Hinduism they believe that the cow is sacred thus they dont eat it,but in sikhism we believe that all animals are souls like us and that we should not eat them as we would get the animals karma.Anyway back to your question although respecting the cow is something done by Indians, sikhs do not believe that cows must be given a special place or that it is higher than another animal.

Yes they were, but their body was not the same as us.

For us the body is a manufactured thing into which our soul is trapped until we die. 10 Gurus were not souls, they were Waheguru (god). Waheguru’s true form is parkash (light), to come and interact with humans they needed a human form.

For a Guru, a body is born empty, then they step into it. A human body is made of 5 elements (earth, air, fire, water, space), even so for 10 Gurus the composition was different. Even while in the body they remained first and foremost parkash roop. Their body we could say was an illusion of maya.

God is god is god. When they were born, where, to which family/cast - none of that matters in the slightest.

Research the properties of a diamond as much as you want. How it’s made, where, when, market value - everything. But when one is in your hand, you become mesmerised by its beauty. Same with 10 Gurus, do your research and gather the facts. But if you get darshan doing simran it’s just... no words.

So Guru Nanak Dev Ji told us how to realise God. Sorted. But you still got to live the rest of your time on Earth. This is why a religion was created. To keep us disciplined and make sure we are honourable citizens of the world. And Sikhs are!

But this is all theory explanation. I can describe London to you and you can criticise me, but are you willing to leave your house and come with me to see yourself?

The blind man wants to know who God is, but he doesn’t even know himself yet. Man Tu Jot Saroop Hai.

First realise who you are, and then with dib dristhe, forget seeing who Guru Nanak is, you can meet them.

~ He who we thought resided in great heavens, for he was with us all along ~

Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji ki Fateh.

Veerji I disagree with you.Guru Nanak Dev ji was not Vaheguru. He was a part of Vaheguru.Let me give you the example.Remember the sakhi where Guru Nanak Dev ji went missing for 3 days.He had darshan of Akal Purakh. But if he himself was Akal Purakh ji why would he need darshan of himself?.Second evidence is that all 10 Gurus have the same jot right. So that means Guru Nanak Dev ji is Guru Gobind Singh ji right. Then why did Guru Gobind Singh ji say that he is not God and that whoever's calls him God will go to hell? Veerji dont get me wrong I am not here to  do beadbi to Maharaj or anything like that but this is really a genuine question from me because this is what I always thought was true. Please correct this das if I'm wrong.

And 864, Gond M:5,

Gur Ka Sabad Na Metea Koe. Gur Nanak NANAK HAR SOE.

None can erase the shabad of the guru. The guru is Nanak, Nanak is God.

There are many examples in the Guru's baani where it is explicitly revealed to us that the Guru is God himself.

Gur Parmesar Eko Jaan.

Paarbrahm Gur Naahi Bhed.

Guru Govind, Govind Guru Hai, Nanak Bhed Na Bhai.

The reason for him "having darshan of himself" is his own leela. Understand that the maryada of this world is that one needs a Guru before giving updesh. As such, the Guru of Guru Nanak Dev Ji is God himself. And they are one in the same.

With regards to the other point, there have been those who translate that shabad as "whoever calls themselves Parmeshwar, they go to hell". Other's say that is their humility. Both are right. However, I personally like the answer given by Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj:

"If, by calling Guru Gobind Singh Ji as God, one has to endure hell, then we are ready to endure that hell."??

Are you calling Guru Angad Dev ji , Guru Amar Das ji, Guru Arjan Dev ji and Guru Gobind  Singh ji wrong for explicitly saying he was ?  Please reconsider your words . Guru Gobind Singh ji told us the history of previous avtars, pirs, pegambars who failed in their mission to spread naam because they ended up joining people to their own name instead ; this is why NONE of the Guru Sahiban taught us to pray to them but to pray to Akal Purakh it is called nimrata -humility .

Noooooo.Thats not what I meant I mean no beadbi to any of the Gurus please dont misunderstand me. What my question was is if Guru Nanak Dev ji is God or a part of God as I was really confused I always thought Guru Nanak Dev ji was like an avatar of God.Thankfully Koi cleared my misunderstanding.I did not mean to imply that our Gurus were lying by saying that Guru Nanak Dev ji is Vaheguru.I really did not know about the Bani in which our Gurus told us about this.I am really sorry if I seemed like I was insulting our Gurus.

    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
