Delhi Sikh body writes to Prez Kovind seeking withdrawal of Kangana's Padma Shri

• The Sikh body filed a police complaint against her on Saturday for allegedly making seditious and derogatory remarks on social media.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Sunday wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind urging him that the Padma Shri conferred on actor Kangana Ranaut be withdrawn as she was "spreading communal hatred, targeting a religious community, and insulting farmers and freedom fighters".

The Sikh body filed a police complaint against her on Saturday for allegedly making seditious and derogatory remarks on social media.

In his letter to the President, DSGMC and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said Ranaut has been "deliberately provoking Sikhs" making references to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

"She does not deserve this honour. She does not represent the spirit of India which is based on harmony and goodness for all. Considering the social sentiments, Padma Shri should be withdrawn from her immediately for insulting farmers, Sikhs, and freedom fighters," he said.

Sirsa said a DSGMC delegation will go to Mumbai on Monday to meet Maharashtra's Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and lodge a complaint against Ranaut at the Khar police station.

I agree in part, the problem is you drive the ideology of people like this underground and then it can't be tracked as easily which is a dangerous situation, she's taken advantage of a volatile situation for her own personal gain, she's trying to get her foot into politics but has unfortunately decided to go right wing on it and does nothing but embarrass herself all the time.

look there are millions of these evilhearted people but they only become dangerous when they inflame by lying and inciting on mass media channel , just think if Amitabh wasn't able to spew hate on doordarshan wouldn't it have made ordinary folks less sympathetic to the genocidal gangs ? less likely to turn around and tell ud to forget it ?

I think the difference now is most people with half a brain-cell question things they see on Tv and read on social media,  it's a result of Trump and the lies he tried to sell, the Indian media has been laid bare for all to see many times over during the farmers protests, the difference is that people go out and find out the truth themselves There will always be those follow blindly (unfortunately there a a lot of people in India who will follow actors and worship them like gods and whatever they say is the gospel truth).

Even without Amitabh Bachan, there’d still be a positive view on the killing of Sikhs at that time, because of the rewards the government gave, and the fact that people were already viewing Indra as a Devi Devte that a guy like Modi and Manmohan Singh can only imagine.

I don't understand how and why unelected officials are involved in the process of a supposedly democratic government that is following due process.  The Supreme Court itself is resisting the govts efforts to make it more honourable and efficient. I mean 3 crore cases are pending so where is the justice? 

These farm laws were on the manifesto of the previous Congress Party for years when millions of farmers were committing suicide and they did nothing. 

So are we going back to the same situation with farmer suicides?

‘Bills are made and repealed … they will come again’: BJP’s Sakshi Maharaj
Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the contentious farm laws will be repealed, Unnao BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj has stated that the laws can be brought again, if needed.

Speaking to reporters in Unnao on Saturday, Maharaj said, “Bills to bante rehte hai, bigarhte rehte hai…vaapas aa jaayenge, dobaaraa ban jaayenge…koi der nahi lagtee hai (Bills are made and repealed. They will come again, and will be made again. It hardly takes any time)”

Similarly, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra also stated that the farm laws can be brought again if necessary.
