waheguru ji ka khalsa wahguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, this is linked to the white/sikh couple thread, but as it slightly out of topic I have started a new thread. An amritdhari can only marry an amritdhari, we all accept this. What non-amritdharries do is purely their chioce, and as such the world spins in Maya. But often many punjabi sikhs, say only sikhs can marry sikhs, but when they actually mean behind the spin is only punjabis can marry punjabis. They think this is because punjabies can preserve thier culture. Let me share a story, that I saw. In slough, there is a nice elderly bibi who does langar de seva day in day out as happens in most gurdwaras. She had…

peace all, hope you're all well i just wondered about how exactly Sikhism came about i'm a bit confused about it. What I mean is how exactly did Sikhism come to be? I understand there were Guru's but where did they get their teachings from? Do you believe it was revelations from God or soemthing else? I'm just confused as to where exactly it came from. I understand that it is definately NOT a branch of Hinduism, nor is it a muddle of Hinduism and Islam, so where isit from? If anyone could help with not to complex (!) and easy to understand information I would be grateful. no mention or comparison with other religions if possible please. I want this purly about Si…

Being on youtube I have not come across hardly any Sikh parchaar videos. We Are the fifth biggest religion in the world. Yet there are hardly any youtube channels or videos explaining what Sikhs or Sikhism is about. Especially videos in plain english. We need a basic video teaching what a sikh is. The symbols. A interesting history video about Sikhs. Think about it. We have a great platform to reach billions of viewers. It does not cost anything to post a video and not a huge amount of resources. What you need. A camera a tripod ability to talk a little about Sikhi. And then people will have access to what Sikhism is abou…

Sat Sri Akal, Just a general question, when does Amrit should be given to a child. Some say that when they are old enough but again it is no clear answer. My uncle wants my nephew to be Amritdhari but he is six and a half years old, some thought he is too young, just not aware what right age is? Please advice.
