by Guest drkirpan- 15 replies

I'm a male, 17yrs old. I don't know what to do - I live with a secret and it makes me feel terrible. I know I can't tell anyone but at the same time I'm worried and I really stopped enjoying my life recently So the story is: My really good friend (not sikh) is constalntly cheating on his girlfriend - a beautiful, honest, wise, godfearing sikh women. I promised him not to tell anyone but my heart just breaks every time I look at them together - she seems so in love yet he is such a bad person... I told him that he has to stop but he says he won't... And now I don't know what to do. I consider him as a friend but she doesn't deserve that

a Sikhs goal
by Guest gurbani Vaheguru- 0 replies

dhan dhan vaheguru satguru sri guru granth sahib ji. A Sikhs goal is to hear, see and meet Vaheguru before death. A Sikhs Duty is to do Simran with each and every breath. We should not only read gurbani, we should and we are supposed to do read it, do vichaar of it, study it, live it, and do Simran to come to the state to hear see and meet Vaheguru. What's mean by "hearing" Vaheguru? Naam=Vahegurus Voice. In the first stadium of the marag, the way to Vaheguru, Naam is the gurmantar ("Vaheguru ") . So Vaheguru spoke, made a sound and then started the establishment of this universe. That sound which Vaheguru made is called Naa…

A Tale of Two Beards - Beard Thread Number 3
by Guest Jigsaw_Puzzled_Singh- 0 replies

Take 2 threads about beards. Add number 1 and number 2 together and you get 3. This is beard thread number 3. Beard Thread Number 1 was written a few weeks ago. Has no replies and about 80 views. It was designed to get people thinking about the thing that actually makes Sikhs most recognisable in the world. It got one person thinking. But rather than thinking intellectually it got him thinking about beard wax. So much so that, about a week later, he started a brand new thread about beards, i.e. Beard Thread Number 2. Beard Thread Number 2 is about how to curl moustaches and beards. The Indians have a national stereotype of Sikhs as low intellectual jokers and singe…

A Very Serious Question For All Of You, Regarding A Death In My City
by Guest DeathOrLoyalty- 8 replies

Hello all. A Gursikh man of 85 years died in my town last weekend. He lived alone, was very religious and was even the president of a Gurdwara here. His downstairs rental guy burned his house down. What happened was the Gursikh escaped the house... but his Guru Granth Sahib was still inside. He ran back in to save it.... and ended up dying inside the fire. Did he do the right thing? Is it worth giving up the human life for that? Is this technically a modern day Shaheedi? Could any of us truly say we would do the same?

So recently I went down and have been attending a weekly program/divaan (I will not mention the place, Gurdwara or any names of any person) after having heard many rumours and things about it, and have seen everything for my self. There is loud waheguru jaap which I truly enjoy as to say it is a good experience, one that i cannot get anywhere else however there is some things I simply do not understand and leaves me heavy hearted and uncomfortable. During the loud simran i see many people experiencing these 'fits' where they apparently seem to be in some kind of state but are just shaking and rolling around violently while screaming and crying. Then the person who is lea…

A Virus Will Wipe Out Punjab - everyone dies at the end 1 2 3 4

How's that for a thread title then ? Got your attention though didn't it ? OK....here goes. Those of you who know my history on this forum already know what I think of meat and meat-eaters generally so lets just be clear none of what I'm about to say below relates in any way whatsoever with my anti-meat views. What I'm about to say is FAR more important than that. I want those of you reading this, with any influence, to use that influence and make serious changes in Punjab.....before a killer virus really does start killing people there. Go to any small town or big town in Punjab and what do you see ? You see unregulated meat shops killing, skinning and then …

A Weird Experience
by Guest gupt singh- 3 replies

I would like the sangats opinions on an experience that I encountered. Whilst I (aged 13-16) was in secondary school I had made two friends - Mehadi and Feyza. Mehadi and Feyza were brother and sister who had escaped the Kosovan / Yugoslavian war. Mehadi was in my year group, Feyza was a year below. There spoken English was very limited. They had no family (at all) in the UK and were living in care homes. They would try their best in their studies but were severely restricted due to their language issues. For some reason, I would feel sorry for them and help them out with school work whenever I could. After school, we went our separate ways and we had eventually lost co…

What will I say to him to convince him.... What should I say? What should I say that he may take me in his arms?? What should I say that I never have to spent a second without him again? what should I say? Mey kamlee kiss mukh Naal Apney Preetam Nu Menava? Kiss mukh naal? the rules: (you are only all…
