  1. WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH A rich Muslim horse dealer named alayar, a native of Delhi, who had returned from Arabia though Kabul with five hundred horses, arrived at the Bias. He had intended to proceed to his native city, where he hoped to find a good market, but was unable continue his journey as the river was flooded, and the boatmen did not think their boats where sufficiently strong to withstand the current. The following morning he saw Bhai Paro, on his way to the Guru as usual, plunge his horse into the foaming river and reach the opposite shore in safety. The horse dealer met him on his return and complimented him on the feat he had performed. Bhai Paro said that there was nothing wonderful about his crossing a swollen river. The true Guru, to wholm he daily went to do homage, caused thousands of souls to swim across the still more dangerous ocean of the world. Alayar was anxious to behold so great a being, so he arranged with Paro on the next occasion to sit behind him on his horse, and thus cross the river and visit the Guru with him. Alayar was delighted on seeing the Guru, hearing his words, and witnessing the devotion of his Sikhs. Filled with enthusiasm and humility he mentally desired th Guru’s leavings. The Guru divined his wish and offered him the dish from which he had eaten. The Guru’s attention was then attracted to his name, and he said, ‘It is difficult to become the friend (yar) of God (allah) but I will make God your master and you, his servant’. Thus, Alayar was made a priest and freed from all doubts, evil passions, and inclinations. He henceforth drew no distinction between Hindus and Muslims, and continued as he had begun, a model of humility and divine fervour. Guru Ji in due time sent him to a place called Devantal, where the saints resided. His trade in horses was undertaken by his son. Alayar’s family ultimately settled down in Dalla where lived Bhai Paro and Bhai Lalo and other devoted servants of the Guru. Muslims of every rank accepted and reverenced Alayar under the name of Ala Shah as a pious priest. DHAN DHAN SATGURU SRI GURU AMAR DAS JI MAHARAJ, THE KING OF KINGS AND THE SAINT OF SAINTS Satguru is amazing, he can turn a sinner into a saint just like that WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

  2. WJKK WJKF I just needed to know where the simran tune is from at the the beginning of the Supersant App. My 21month daughter really likes the simran and wants to listen to waheguru waheguru but the simran only lasts less than a minute, so she has to keep putting it on and off to hear it. I would be very greatful if anyone knew who the keertan was by and where I could download it so she can hear it properly. Thank you WJKK WJKF

  8. Blapreet singh wore suit and tie. They wrote wrong article. But dress was not the issue. He was turned out because of kirpan. In 1930s Swami Vivekanand came to attend world religions conference at Chicago. He was wearing a safforn chola and a turban. When he spoke people were mesmerized. There was continuous clapping till he finished his speech. To criticize someone's dress is racism.

  11. Police 'hid' abuse of 60 girls by Asian takeaway workers linked to murder of 14-year-old By James Tozer Last updated at 11:12 PM on 7th April 2011 At least 60 schoolgirls were groomed for sex by workers at seedy takeaways linked to the murder of a 14-year-old girl. Children as young as 11 were targeted by mainly Asian staff at fast food outlets in Blackpool. They were offered food, alcohol and cigarettes in return for sexual favours. An unpublicised police report produced after 14-year-old Charlene Downes vanished in 2003 found the girls, most if not all white, had been victims of the ‘honey pot’ premises. There were claims last night that the report was suppressed for reasons of political correctness. Seedy: The takeaway in Blackpool linked to Charlene Downes, then 14, and Paige Chivers, then 15, who are both missing Four years later another girl, 15-year-old Paige Chivers, also went missing. Detectives believe she was killed like Charlene, whose body has never been found. Two Middle Eastern restaurant owners were acquitted over Charlene’s murder in 2007 and the crime remains unsolved. The pair still run a kebab shop in Blackpool which was also linked to Paige, and she too was identified as a victim of sexual exploitation. Last year police reported that the takeaway was attracting young girls who were being supplied with alcohol and cocaine. Victims: Charlene Downes (left) is believed to have been murdered while Paige Chivers has been missing since 2007 The revelations about the scale of grooming centred around the downmarket cafes comes amid growing concern at disturbing cases involving mainly Asian gangs exploiting young white girls for sex in the Midlands and North of England. The girls, often from vulnerable homes or in the care system, were befriended by men who showered them with gifts and affection before using them for sex. Former Home Secretary Jack Straw has said the girls were seen as ‘easy meat’, while David Cameron called on police to follow criminal acts ‘without fear or favour’ wherever the evidence leads. The Home Office commissioned a nationwide investigation into the problem, which has long been considered taboo by police officers fearful of being branded racist. Indeed, a former senior detective at Lancashire Police yesterday blamed political correctness for its failure to highlight its 2003 findings in Blackpool. But the force denied this, saying the report had been available online since 2007 but had never been intended for publication. Senior officers insisted an intensive programme to break the cycle of exploitation had been a success and that in the last six months 50 of 54 grooming suspects were white. Shocking claims made in court over Charlene’s murder revealed fears that her body had been put through a mincing machine, with takeaway staff said to have joked that her remains had ‘gone into the kebabs’. A jury failed to reach a verdict on charges that Jordanian immigrant Iyad Albattikhi had murdered her while his Iranian landlord Mohammed Reveshi had disposed of her body. A retrial collapsed in 2008 amid failings in the police investigation and the men were paid almost £250,000 each in compensation. The kebab shop run by Mr Albattikhi and Mr Reveshi has changed its name from Funny Boyz to Mr Beanz. It was refused a hot food licence last year amid fears about ‘sexual activity’ linked to the premises, but the pair blame a ‘police vendetta’ and have appealed. Following Charlene’s disappearance in 2003, police found more than 60 girls were being groomed for sex by non-white men centred around 11 Blackpool takeaways. They were mainly aged between 13 and 15, but some were as young as 11. Yesterday former Detective Superintendent Mick Gradwell warned that research into the problem was being hampered by ‘political correctness and concerns about upsetting community cohesion’. But Lancashire police denied a cover-up. Assistant Chief Constable Andy Rhodes said his officers were making significant progress in tackling child sex exploitation across Lancashire, regardless of the background of the culprits. He added: ‘We recognise that in some areas the number of Asian offenders is disproportionate to the population and far from ignoring this, have been tackling the issue head on by working with the local communities, giving presentations to community forums and visiting mosques to raise awareness.’ It was reported yesterday that while most British sex offenders are lone white men, details of court cases in 13 towns showed that out of 56 men convicted of multiple offences of grooming girls for sex, 50 were Muslim, mostly of Pakistani heritage. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1374443/Police-hid-abuse-60-girls-Asian-takeaway-workers-linked-Charlene-Downes-murder.html ------------------------------------ Wjkk Wjkf, Again and again we see this. It's now the wider media and government bodies who are confirming this. All Sikhs who were skeptical at first, and thought Sikhs who spoke up on this had other agenda, please now take note. Khalsa ji, I have seen over the last few years a general acceptance within our community to i)Accept that there is a threat specifically to our children. ii) Willingness to talk about it and combat it. We must do more. The biggest threat comes from Internet grooming. Please warn all young parents of the problem. The BIGGEST threat will be on newly immigrated Punjabi families. Faujees who are brining their wives over and settling in inner city (predominantly Muslim areas) These guys are much like our parents generation who have little knowledge of grooming and internet etc. THEIR CHILDREN MUST BE PROTECTED. IT'S OUR JOB! ALL SIKHI classes, Panjabi Classes should have this included some detail in their curriculum.

  12. For any that may have missed the BBC 1 programme - 'The Story of Vaisakhi' on Sunday 10th April from 1.15-1.45pm this can be watched using the following link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b010fqkd/The_Story_of_Vaisaikhi/ This link will be available via the BBC iplayer for 7 days until Sunday 17th April until 1.44pm. However, the 30-minute programme can also be downloaded. In general the programme on mainstream television showed Sikhs in a very positive light. The programme is good for non-Sikhs to give them an introduction and insight into Vaisakhi and certain aspects of the Sikh way of life. Feel free to circulate this link to non-Sikhs - MPs, MEPs, councillors, representatives of other faiths etc. and local non-Sikh organisations - local authorities, schools, other faith organisations etc. This link is also being sent to contacts in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and other English-speaking countries. Those aboad may not be able to use the iplayer so someone may wish to put it YouTube. There were a few areas where the programme could have been improved in terms of language and content, but Indarjit Singh who advised the BBC and was used as a consultant should be congradulated. All contributors Dr Rema Kaur, Ramandeep Singh Sohal, Guru Kaur, Dabinderjit Singh, Paramdip Kaur Khera and Suki Kaur Dhanda in their own ways came across very well.

  15. I've noticed there are sly people on sites like youtube and topix that are pretending to be pakistani muslims to abuse Sikhs. And vice versa you get Muslims pretending to be Hindu's. We should collectively draw up a list of anti-sikh material that needs tackling on the net and expose the users and their agenda's.

  16. I am looking forward to Vaisakhi as I am sure that many of you are on this board I feel now is the ultimate time to network with and spread the message to all Sikhs whether khesdari or amritdhari that we are all one and will go on to create a new world using our religion and rich history and culture that is the culture of the Jatts, Tharkhans and any other faction with a history in Sikhism. Now is NOT the time to forget our rich history like the communists want us to and be a carbon copy of each other we should all share our diversity and not let the nasty minority who want to use the caste issue to divide us prosper and win. As Sikhs we are all individuals just as the Panj Piaras were and that is how God wanted us if God didnt want us all to be different we would all have the same features. This time of Vaisakhi should be shown for what it is an be celebrated and we shouldnt complain that monay are wearing khandas and flags now is the time to join and teach. <Many years we have attacked each other on Vaisakhi which has been orchestrated by a minority who despise the Sikhs as a people. Start today and encourage all friends family members and your community to come and join the celebrations and give everyone something to remember Forget the negative this year.

  28. The Gurudwara I go to has a fair number of children with Down's Syndrome who attend on a weekly basis. Obviously they come with their parents and I think it's wonderful because it's very easy for our people to keep these kids "hidden away" from the world. It's a positive reflection on the parent's faith that they aren't blaming Waheguru for their - admittedly - difficult circumstances, as I've also heard of many Sikhs with disabled children who shun the Gurudwara as they feel God has let them down. But I don't judge these folk. Only they must know the daily struggles they face in raising children with disabilities. One can only hope those who have lost heart, find their way to His feet once again.

  29. It's a very confused article and sends out all the wrong messages to impressionable young Sikhs who maybe wavering about their faith. Whilst there is nothing wrong with wearing a suit and tie along with dumalla, IF a Sikh wishes to wear his beard loose with a flowing bana there should NOT be an issue. It is the western world's hang-ups about what they THINK society should look like that is the problem. Until we reach the highest echelons of society on our terms, these attitudes will never change. So we need Sikhs to strive to be the best in their chosen field (whatever that may be) and when somebody asks "What's with all the paraphernalia?", Sikhs will have the confidence to tell people why we look like we do, and why we've reached the top on our own terms. There's no point in trying to change perceptions from a distance. We need to get amongst these people and change them from within. It's why I always stress the importance of education and learning.

  30. Paaji, i agree, but we should have the ability to weigh up the deficiencies of others in various situations as long as our agenda is for panthic betterment. We have to realise there are many stigmas and underlying racial prejudices in society. Do you think our community are less prone to these? Imagine the door rings at 11pm at your average Panjabi households house. Look through the window, it's a big kala, or a gora. Which one is our elders going to be most weary of? We don't need to go that road, my point is, we should be wise enough to understand the complete picture, then use our resources that would best return a positive result. That is all we should be concerned with, the result. No, we should never bow down to demands, no we should never change our appearance for others, but we have enough resources in the Panth to push certain individuals in different scenarios.

Parent's attitude, understanding of their child's needs, love, support also help children with disabilities to a large extent.. Acceptance from people outiside the home, at Gurudwara is very important and he is very much entitled to respect just as any son/daughter are.. Other members may be able to help you more.. I do wish you all the very best as you see you son progressing amazingly well with Maharaj's Aasraa! Thanks for sharing.. Bhull chuk mauf karna ji.. :waheguru:

  32. I remember one real story from someone few years ago.. This was very long time ago and was outside of punjab. Sirdar kapoor singh was invited for breakfast from one sikh family.. Bhai Sahib usually don't go to formal events and avoid such stuff but he went to the house thinking that he will share sikhi talks as it was early in the morning and he was thinking of doing veechars with other sikh sangat. Upon reaching this person's house; he met the whole family and that family members were so stuck that they went to show bahi sahib his house tour; showing crockery and other collections... He didn't say a word and then breakfast was called and everyone sat to eat and the whole time they spent talking about hobbies and other stuff.. Bhai sahib in the middle of breakfast spoke loudly in protest.. "sara mera time kharab kar dita".. he left very soon after that.. I am not going to say where and which family was it but it was related to one of sikhchic ppl who made this website lol... Read some of their comments.. They are highly stuck up in the box and they have HUGE inferiority complex issues.. If given a chance of anything, they will be the first one in line to shed their religious identity.. Can't trust them and we should not allow them to represent us in any form... Also, don't bother to post comments; it will either be deleted or highly edited by their team.

GuruDwara (Guru's Home) is only the place to go and meet guru sahib jee. We should go there to gain knowledge not to relax. Take knowledge from our guru sahib jee and implement that in your life.. both @ work and @ home. Regarding kids, It is all comes to parents responsibility.

  35. Important thing to remember are that: 1. Flag each video 2. Don't use bad language, it shows were the same as them using foul langauge. I see most of the time if there is a good sikh video there are sikhs using bad language and saying F-pakistan or F-something else. we should refrain from using these words there not helping, we should support our brothers and sisters who make good videos. Not fight with each others first.

  36. ok the majority of the anti-sikh material videos and accounts on youtube and posts on topix can be traced to Hindu Punjabi "ravidassiya's" and the Hindu guys at hindu-sikh unity forum. I have managed to see the posts they put up in that forum and the corresponding video's that were uploading hating on Sikhs, sant bhindranwale and other personalities. They even talked about portraying video's of Guru Sahib's instead of sant bhindranwale but thought better not worried Sikhs might retaliate with pictures of their deities in mocking video's.For many years now they have been deceptively trying to pit muslim against sikh on online forums and websites while they attack both and increase the animosity between the two communities. Not saying there aren't muslims out there who need dealing with too the main perpetrators for majority of the filth directed at Sikhs seems to be coming from the above mentioned group. We can take the peace approach first, reason with them to remove their youtube videos and accounts. Failure to do so we take steps to remove those videos and accounts by flagging and other methods and if that fails we retaliate like for like until they come to their senses and see we are not a soft touch.

  42. If you can go to india, go to Gurdwara Akhand Parkash (Bhindran Kalan, Moga, Panjab) and get a Nintem Gutka from them. It's probably the most shudh gutka around in terms of the length of baani, spelling etc. The baani is formatted in a way such that where ther is a bisraam the tuk continues on a new line. It's amazing if you want to learn your nitnem off by heart, spellings, bisraam etc. However, you need to be amritdhaari, nitnemi and read the taksal (or nihang singh) rehraas i.e. the longer versions of rehraas paath, not the short SGPC/AkaalTakht etc version. They will ask you this before the give you the nitnem gutka, and will only give it to you if you follow all three conditions.
