  1. Ive got some wonderful Kurdish Turk Cypriot Muslim friends who have always encouraged me to be proud of who I am, stood by me, never tried to coerce or convert me, their mothers and fathers doted on me as one of their own when i was a kid. I am still here 30 something years on believeing in Sikhi. a num of Sub Continental Muslims got issues with their pagan history, looks like same crap as malays hence wahab deobandiism. But then again A Pak Punjabi had a dream that an entity visited him back in 1970s it led to him requesting Singh Sabha London East if he could help take part in Seva of the Original Library.. I dont know his name but you can walk into gurdwara on sundays and find this rather tall Pakistani man 6 foot and his son come in they come as devotees for the last 30 years. What inside a Mans heart only Guru Sahib knows and What Guru Sahib can also put in. So dhyaan na gall karoh. Another born Musalmaan i saw in divaans at Goodmayes and Seven Kings decade ago had a dream of a very high entity. he sacrificied his wife his job career to become a SIkh. Talked very little. He was homeless but took amrit and lived it rough on tokens. There was a lovely pakistani Punjabi Muslim family that lived nearby My Grans home, the Mother would take her children to GuruGhar as kids, her own growing daughters, they would happily engross in seva of shoes. Now their grown happily married with children. The Ladys husband a Punjabi had no qualms what his wife or kids did. I dont believe its fair to say "EVil mohammedan". I lost my wallet last year with my driving licence, £200 cash, a host of personal useful data. Guess what? A Pakistani lad found it rang up gave me back everything even gave me a hug and said here you go brother! Theres me ringing the cops DVLA wary thinking some frauds gonna take place? I went on the Cops Data file list in case anything cropped up. Nothing!! That random bloke did something for me where my own uncles and aunts would happily do me over! That Pakistani lad with a Beard and shoulder length long hair taught me something.. But if your talking Mirpuris Kashmiris its a diff world. Yes theres a lot of forced preaching and converting. In Fact a lot of the Issues around sexual grooming, racial tension, segregation in Britain are found to be areas with a high Potohari Mirpuri Kashmiri community. If thats racist stating facts so be it. ALl you need to do is look at the so called " 2001 Asian riots" .. It gives a lot of other decent muslim communities in britain a bad name. Yeh there are issues with drugs in Turks Kurds but go West London or BC What do you think happens in Punjabi areas?? But when it comes to religion all im saying is there are communities ive got respect from with no racism and theres a lot of positive integration and mutual sharing happening right now. get the good n the bad all over. all it is with apneh we dont use religion, its just upfront akhar. Others use religion. Some use Race. Then whos evil? its just a bs ego play. Stick to whatever paat seva simran u can do n dont worry.

  2. Neither the sakhi of Prithi Chand is false, nor the point I try to make you understand is false. False is your ego, which does not allow you to accept any other view than yours. Ego is haume, is ahankar, and it seems, you do not have it clear at all, the difference. No matter how hard you may try to argue, or do veechar according to you, but I know where I am standing... what to say about you, but nobody can make me move from my firm beliefs about the Bani and Guru Ji, due only to His Grace, otherwise I am quite unfit . You say:All of gurbani can be proved starting from now there are no levels or rises in avasta to prove it. We don't need to throw logic out of the window when examining gurbani. See your own contradictions: first you say that gurbani can be proved...we do not need logic out of the window.... but at a later place you say, all personal opinions are theories, and only Guru Ji can make us understand what they want to say ..... So according to you if everybody has opinions or own theories, then how can agreement come from the veechaar ... because if there are 100 people and 100 opinions are the outcome, where is the truth which our Guru Sahibans want to convey us? It is impossible to carry on, according to your way of thinking... What makes you understand that I do not go through the gurmukhi in the Bani, and depend on english translations only? That is not true.... of course I do relate the english translation to the gurmukhi, and only when I find sense to it, I do express myself ... You see me using english, because we are on a english speaking and writing website : SikhSangat Be humble man, do not be so stubborn... Nobody says, the soul dies, neither that the soul is the body or the mind as you think All of us know, that the soul is immortal. The thing is, the soul and mind are knotted together. Kal Purukh wanted to have this mayavee creation, and he asked for souls from Akal Purukh to populate it, as he can not create or destroy souls by himself. Some may ask, why did Akal Purukh did so....that I can not answer, but for sure we know, He can never make mistakes, as He is all wisdom and Consciousness... at our presnt stage we can never understand. So the next thing Dharam Rai did, in order to keep the souls as prisoners, he cunningly united the souls with mind, and thus the law of karma was then establised. Because, any karma created by the mind, whether good or bad, the soul would had to pay or get rewarded for it, and as we can not remain karmaless, our amount of karmas are always on increase... so you see....the soul being away from Satnam, has forgotten its origin, and due to the mind, the panj karma and panj gyan indriyas, is mercilessly roaming in the cycle of births and deaths along with the mind, whose headquarters are in the causal region. Let me remind you, the soul is not the body nor the ego nor the mind...because you tend to get confused at this very point, this is your main problem here, not that you do not know something or other, about the Bani...but here only at this very point, you are lost ...There starts your confussions...otherwise you are certainly a well versed man, and there is no doubt about it. Going back to the post: Sree Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj says in Raag Gauree Gwaarayree: ka-ee janam bha-ay keet patangaa. In so many incarnations, you were a worm and an insect; ka-ee janam gaj meen kurangaa. in so many incarnations, you were an elephant, a fish and a deer ka-ee janam pankhee sarap ho-i-o. In so many incarnations, you were a bird and a snake. ka-ee janam haivar barikh jo-i-o. In so many incarnations, you were yoked as an ox and a horse As we can see, He is saying, due to the influences and misguiding of the mind and ego, you did karmas for which you had to take births in different species, and that too not once or twice...but many times. Remember , He is saying, that the soul had to go through so many janam and maran, in different bodies, sometimes as plants , fish, or ox among others of the chaurasee ka chhakar, due to its knot with the mind . This knot, the soul can not break it by itself, unless it gets the aid of a power superior to the mind, maya, and the very Kal Purukh, who does not want any soul to escape from this his creation, so he has set traps in forms of karmas at every step, to keep the soul prisoner here. And that superior power, is the one of Nam, on which, if the soul meditates, it can burn all its karmas, clean all the accumulated dirt, defeat the mind, maya and Kal, free itself from all these bondages, and return back to its origin, in the company with that Shabad. That is why the Bani says: Nanak Nam, jahaaz hae. Because boarding on that Nam, through its Simram, the soul reaches its true home, and merge back in Satnam, from where it one day left. That Shabad acts then as a guide to the soul, and so the Bani says: Shabad Guru, dhun(soul) chela. Means, with the power and authority of Nam, the soul crosses this Bahvsagar. And as it is in the company of Shabad and Nam, no power can stop the soul...then even Dharam Rai, bows down to that wadhbhagee soul accompanied by the Shabad Guru. So then Guru Ji says: mil jagdees milan kee baree-aa. Meet the Lord of the Universe - now is the time to meet Him. chirankaal ih dayh sanjaree-aa. After so very long, this human body was fashioned for you. saaDhsang bha-i-o, janam paraapat. Through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you obtained this human life. kar sayvaa bhaj har har gurmat. Do seva - selfless service(Nam Simran); follow the Guru's Teachings(updesh), and vibrate(meditate, do bandagee, do kamaee) the Lord's Name, Har, Har. After wandering aimlessly in the creation, you have been blessed with a human body, that is the door for your liberation. Get the Gurparasd of Nam(Guru´s teachings, updesh, bhed, jugtee), and do the jaap of the Nam of the Lord Har. Gurmat existed before you and me, and it shall go on, it stands by itself, by the power of our Guru Sahibans... We are not discovering anything new..... we are dirty, moorakh, agyanis, how can we ever properly understand the Ambrosial Bani of our Gurus ..for that, we have to be pure like them... Until then, we should with one pointed devotion and faith, put into practice what it says, we do not need to understand its real meaning fully, that is why Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj knowing about our limitations, says in Jap Ji sahib, do the meditation or jaap of Nam, and all the truths of the Bani shall be revealed unto you... no matter even if you are illiterate and can not read, or you are handicapped and you can not go to hear the parchars ... Beacuse: Har mandir eheu sareer hae, gyan ratan pargat Hoe... this human body is the real temple, where He should be worshiped and can be realized . Not that I like to discuss with you, but I just can not remain quiet, if you try to throw dirt(false accusations) on me.... Maybe it is better to ignore you, but out of sympathy, and as a huamn being, knowing that your soul and mine, as well of the rest of the beings, are drops of the same Ocean Satnam... so with the aid of the Bani, I will always try my best to answer you, and clear your doubts. Sat Sree Akal.

  3. This is what we need. Right now no Sikh parcharak/Kathawachak is telling youth to go back to Sikhi. But a fearless lion of Guru Jee Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Jee is saying what is needed. Our enemies would love nothing more than our youth to become patits because once Sikhs go back to Sikhi, our enemies will have sleepless nights.

  4. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/1984-Sikh-riots-US-court-summons-Sonia-Gandhi/articleshow/22282475.cms NEW YORK: On a complaint by a Sikh group, a US federal court has issued summons against Congress party president Sonia Gandhi for shielding party officials allegedly involved in inciting attacks on Sikhs in November 1984, an attorney said. In a class action suit filed on Tuesday before the district court of Eastern District of New York, "Sikhs For Justice" (SFJ), a US-based human rights group, and other victims of the November 1984 anti-Sikh violence have sought compensatory and punitive damages against Gandhi. According to SFJ attorney Gurpatwant S Pannun, under federal rules, it has 120 days to serve the summons and complaint on Gandhi who is currently visiting the US for medical check-up. The suit under Alien Tort Claims Act (ATCA) and Torture Victim Protection Act (TVPA) accuses Gandhi of shielding and protecting Kamal Nath, Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler and other Congress party leaders from being prosecuted for their alleged role in the 1984 violence. The 27-page complaint against Gandhi alleges that between November 1 and 4, 1984 about 30,000 members of the Sikh community "were intentionally tortured, raped and murdered by groups that were incited, organized, controlled and armed" by the ruling Congress party.

  7. I visited Both Singh Sabha London East and Karamsar in that Era. My take ( correct me if im wrong) combined factors kicked in As Sangats were branching outwards from Newham settling across Redbridge it was more convenient then for locals than going back to Neville Rd. Singh Sabha London East Sangat at Barking were attending Karamsar in bigger numbers as the progs and kathaa appealed to them. At the time Barking Committee had little going on. When anything was suggested it fell on deaf ears. Barking should spend money wisely, invest in Youth, renovate with minimal... The atmosphere in a Gurdwara is best when its simple just look at Old Havelock. That feeling of love ekta seva warmth preservation of portraits. Once the Old building fell for the MultiMillion Pound one it may still have numbers but the feeling is now very different. Lots of folk have fond memories from the Old building. I met Bhai Rama Singh there first time.

  8. As someone who lives not too far from the Gurdwara Sahib, I have to say what an absolute waste of money. This gurdwara hardly has a huge amount of sangat, half the time the place is empty- more sangat goes to seven kings (the partner gurdwara of this one). Either way the buildings for both gurdware serve the purpose fine. Rather than this why don't they focus on actually doing some decent programs. If anything spend some money on getting us a decent car park!! If there ever is an actual good program most people have to spend half of it looking for a space before they decide to go home lol. While families of shaheed singhs are dying in Punjab, how can we justify spending god knows how much on unnecessary building developments?

  13. A US federal court here has given Congress President Sonia Gandhi time till January 2 to respond to charges of "shielding, protecting and rewarding" the perpetrators of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The court's direction came after rights group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) filed an amended class action complaint early this month against Gandhi, with specific instances of impunity and promotions for Congress leaders and police officials who were allegedly involved in attacks on the Sikh community in November 1984 following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. SFJ claimed that it served a summons issued by the court on staff of New York's Sloan-Kettering Hospital where Gandhi reportedly underwent a checkup in September. The hospital and Gandhi have denied receiving the summons. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal advisor to SFJ, said the lawsuit against Gandhi under the Alien Tort Claims Act and Torture Victim Protection Act of 1992 is aimed at seeking justice for the riot victims. http://www.business-standard.com/article/current-affairs/us-court-asks-sonia-to-respond-to-lawsuit-113121600850_1.html

  14. He is the only white Sikh guy I can see that is speaking out and standing up for political issues that concern Sikhs. If we look at some other white converts to Sikhism like Mr SikhNet.... he and their hippy happy clappy group tends to avoid trying to get involved in political and freedom movements concerning their Sikh brothers and sisters aboard.....which is a real big shame and a big stain on their pro-Sikh credentials....as a Sikh should always be involved in spirituality aswell as temporal politics that affects the freedom and lives of their fellow adherents. I have seen at least 2 white Sikh women involved actively in political Sikh demonstrations against Indian injustice recently. The mark of a true Sikh is when he/she feels the pain and suffering of their fellow Sikh brother and sister who has been unjustly treated.

He seems to be referring to the actions of the committees to the likeness of the stereotype that villagers are illiterates, it can also refer to someone with lesser etiquette than what is required of a city. It's difficult to compare etiquette with ethics there are some crossovers sometimes.

  19. There is no point in discussing, neither getting annoyed nor disheartened, because this can go on endless, and I am not interested in wasting my energies just like that. As I told you, I respect fully your disgagreement, and you have the full right to do so. I have the habit of presenting my opinions not on theories, but on facts, specially on spiritual matters, for that, I am once again going to retype a quotation of Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, in case you did not see it proper, because if you deny the words of Baba Nanak, who is the embodiment of Akal Purukh...then who am I to make you understand? Here it goes: anhad sun maani-aa sabad veechaaree. Hearing the unstruck music of the sound current, this mind contemplates the Shabad, and accepts it. aatam cheeneh, bha-ay nirankaaree. Understanding itself, this soul becomes attuned to the Formless Lord. Your whole discrepancy is that you don accept that individual souls can exist, but in the lines above, and I can give you many more examples from the Bani saying the contrary to your own logic conclusions, but then too there is no guarantee...so it is better lo leave it, time may make you realize it. Here Guru Nanak Dev is saying, by listening to Nam, the soul, He uses the word soul(atam) as you can see, then only this soul becomes attuned, means one with the formless Lord. You can only become one with something, when one is separated from the other, because if they are already one, what is the need to listen the Shabad to become one with Lord according to you. So you see, it is not at all my theories, as you want to make us see by force, it are the words of Baba Nanak, which you deny. What we others say, you cunningly call them theories , and what you say, is truth ...that is not fair, but being arrogant. For me the Bani is not to be followed blindly as you say, but with faith, and thus for me, the sacred Bani of our Guru Sahibans is Sat Bachan. That is it Please do not insist, as unnecesarrily it complicates things out of proportion, which leads nowhere. You think, you are right, o.k, you are right. Happy? Wishing you the best, brother. Sat Sree Akal.

  20. Dear friends and sangat, sometimes churning anything simple, just complicates things and make us miss the objective. That even, with the fact, by the quote given by Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj in an upper post some days back, saying that soul exists, there are people who deny that, challenge Guru Sahiban, by trying to put their point of view in front. This shows nothing else, but that we are weak and poor in chit, and have not yet understood the Bani at all. The Bani of our Guru Sahibans, is perfect from any angle...not a single comma or even full stop so to say, should be modified...their words are perfect Laws for the whole humanity. From what this brother hsingh68, has said in several posts... are just contradictions in his own posts and words. Let us have an objective view on some of his words. 1)There is no individual soul other than param-Atma. There is no separate immortal soul that merges into an immortal God. There is only 1 soul, which is GOD. There is only one God, that is true as we all know, it is in almost all holy scriptures, that is nothing new. But when he says, there is no separate soul, here himself is being contradictory to what he says in a later post, when he says: Understanding naam for a second, means mukhti from the birth and life cycle. Now, whose mukti is he talking about? Naturally not of God Wahiguru, who is ajoonee(birthless, so naturally deathless) and akal moorat. So, if Wahiguru is ajoonee, then who is caught up in the cycle of births and deaths? Naturally not the body ,nor the mind, which are made of the 5 elements, which are perishable... so then what is that left, which goes on and on, in different lives, and that which is not perisahble? Because if it is not Wahiguru, nor the body or the mind who are caught up in the cycles of births and deaths, who is it to get the mukti from births and deaths? The only answer left with common sense is : the soul So naturally as we know, Nam and Wahiguru is the same according to the Bani. That means, when the soul knows or remembers the Nam or Wahiguru, it gets free from the cycle of births and deaths, because it has previously freed it self from the mind and its mentor, Dharam Rai. And he is saying:Understanding naam for a second, means mukhti from the birth and life cycle. So who has to understand the Nam? Of course not Wahiguru, because He already knows what He is. Neither the body or mind can understand what is Nam, as ther are "jarr" means consciousless, so the answer is the soul, which is in same in essence and nature like Akal Purukh, with its same properties. And the soul also does not need to understand Nam exactly, because, it is already a particle of it, but yes, due to its association with the mind, it has forgotten its origin and is wandering aimlessly in the creation. So, by the sacred practice of Nam Simran, the soul regains its real consciousness, that it is a part of Him, but separated from Him, due to x reasons, but it is naturally separated. And the proof is, we are in pain and suffering constantly. As we know, Wahiguru is an infinite ocean of bliss also. Let us ask ourselves, are we in a bliss state? No. So naturally we are away from that ocean of bliss and everlasting happiness, in this creation, there where maya and mind have kept prisoners the souls. But Wahiguru is no less merciful also. That is why Gurmukhs come and remind us of the only reality Wahiguru, they say attach yourself to Nam Simran, and slowly and slowly, all your bondages, karmas, mind maya, kam krodh lobh moh ahankar...etc, shall be removed from you, and you shall be spotless, inmaculate totally, so to merge in your origin, Satnam samundar. The bani says: sarab rog, ka aukhad Nam. The Nam is the medicine for all our maladies and miseries Supposing, our golden ring falls in a gutter and is covered with filth...that does not mean, its value has lessened... it is only it needs to be washed. This is the same with our souls, it is covered with the filth of karmas, sanskaras, sins, and with layers of mind, maya, the threes bodies: gross, astral and causal... so naturally it has adopted an akaaree roop to an extent... because as we know, Wahiguru, is Nirankar, Alakh and Agam...as there is no such thing as mind, maya ... this all exits, in the creation below Sach Khand. 2)Sach Khand has not left us.... That is true. Sach Khand has not left us. We have left Sach Khand. In the sense, the house never abandons you, but the being living there, can go out for any reasons. Why has Wahiguru created this creation, and we are sent here, only He knows. But one thing is sure, we are away from Him. If he were to explain us, we at our present state, we shall never understand it, so the Gurmukhs advise us, to elevate our consciousness to His level, and ask Him. Other thing is, when we shall meet Him, all our doubts and questions shall be disolved. Like we have heard, a handful of salt went to sea to see its depth, but on reaching there, it melt and beacme one with sea. So is the greatness of Wahiguru, the day we meet Him, we shall be Him. Not a part of Him, but Him, Himself. That is the guarantee of our Guru Sahibans. That is why, they have said: Jin Har jaapiyaa, se Har hoeeyaa. Wah wah Sachay Badshah, kaun jaane guna Tere.

  21. There should not be any doubts- Satguru granth sahib ji is same jot and naam roop in sargun, shabad and nirgun form. Satguru connects with sikh consciousness at every step of the way in stages for betterment of sikh spiritual development. Satguru himself draws his sikh(bhagat) to his sargun form to help him to do bhagti-naam-bhagti nine folds- then Satguru granth sahib itself further draw his sikh(bhagat) to go inside himself and explore naam within via shabad surta then finally same Satguru draw his sikh towards estoric gyan layer of naam and eventually/ultimately reveal jot saroop of himself (merge sikh in him) in form of self realization The reason we don't see this because we are not receptive or see things in stages, one has to let go all pre-conditioning, semantics, techanalities..Does love have any conditions? Love has no conditions whatsoever.

This coupled with the issue that Akal Takht doesnt have any enforcement powers to punish violaters..so while this is the case corrupt commitee leaders will continue their actions. Sangat members are also to blame..theyre hyprocisy in knowingly violating Anand Karaj regulations to save their own repuation and faces in front of family members is also an issue... Suing a Gurdwara will just result in wastage of sangats donations, as corrupt members commitees wont pay lega costs for their misparactise from their own pockets..
