  1. from GurmatBibek forum FREMONT, CALIFORNIA GURDWARA BOYCOTTS ALL SIKH COMMUNITY LEADERS, PREACHERS, KEERTANIS WHO WILL NOT TAKE ACTION FOR BHAI GURBAKSH SINGH: "Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa is undertaking an unprecedented mission of self-sacrifice for the freedom of Singhs jailed under the unjust system of the current regime. Meanwhile, bought-out servants of Prakash Badal enjoy vacations in five star hotels. All of you descendants of traitors, money-hungry, bottom feeding, cowardly preachers, keertanis, self proclaimed holy-men, are given notice that before setting foot in America, if you do not have your master (Badal) get freedom for the Singhs illegaly incarcerated, as per Bhai Gurbaksh Singh's mission, then the sangat here will not allow you to sit on our stages."

  2. Just a thought, while many actors/actress/personalities wonder in awe amazing determination, courage behind bhai gurbakash singh khalsa. We may want to infuse as parchar power of gurbani behind bhai sahib ji as ultimately its power of gurbani has manifested within bhai sahib ji..it be good parchar opportunity to show power of meditation, gurbani. It be appropriate to bring 125,000 mool mantar patt /chandi di vaar at the location at this point so sangat too can feel sensation and energy of gurbani energy/shakti. so more people can gets drawn to actual gurbani shakti. Parcharikhs should do parchar that actual power/shakti of gurbani has manifested in bhai sahib gurbaksash singh khalsa as its hard for normal human being like us to survive without food for a week let alone 34 plus days, on deep spiritual level when real self atma-paratma gets illuminated or pargat in body, it takes control of body - it takes care of body needs, repair blood cells within, atma feeds nectar/energy to body via dasam dwara or hirda..in this way enlighten being can survive without eating food or water for very long time, but body eventually falls apart after a period as body cannot sustain intensity of divine energy - gurbani parkash/hirdei parkash/atam parkash and body eventually gives up. I have no doubts maharaj has done kirpa on bhai gurbakash singh khalsa.

  3. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh Just my own take on the question of revamping the anandpur sahib resolution, this matta is dead, it will be going backwards and not forward with the vision and sacrifices made by the shaheeds after 1984. The struggle for independence was started once the GOI attacked Sri Darbar Sahib. Sant Ji's bachan was that 'if the Indian Government invaded the Darbar Sahib complex, the foundation for an independent Sikh state will have been laid.' I would not turn my back on the call for freedom. So the Sikhs after 6/6/1984 declared war on india, the Sarbat Khalsa of 26/1/1986 declares independence and formed the Five Memeber Panthic Committee and the Khalistan Commando Force as the military wing of the Sikhs. 70,000 and more Sikhs have given Shaheedi and the youth of Panjab gave their blood for Khalistan, we cannot turn our backs on their dreams and wishes??? If we stop dithering and commit ourselves to doing seva on a FULL TIME biases, do parchar to make EVERY Sikh know we a slaves in India. A time will come when we will have a spring uprising in Panjab and the rest of india. The example is before us. The sea of orange is once again flowing the the winds of panjab just like 1984. Bhai Balwant Singh Ji Rajoana makes it clear his fight is for truth and justice. Every morning he does Jaikaray for Khalistan. He has shown us if you are a man of principle the people will follow you, they will wake up only when we show commitment. People are avoiding the real issue and tackling small issues, but we need to look at the bigger picture. Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana has given us direction to sow the seeds in the 5 years to 15 years to make them aware that we are oppressed. Doont have any links with the congress or the khali blue pagwale. If we strategise and work out how we as Sikhs living outside of panjab can help our brothers and sister out, with media and IT support, logistical support, training in PR, how to structure their organisations to tackle infiltration and to keep focused on the task in hand ie independence, how to record details of Human Rights abuses etc am sure we will go a long way in our struggle. Ultimately Vaheguru will bless us with Raaj Just my thoughts.

  4. the Anandur Sahib Resolution needs to be pushed. I would've thought our leaders had been since 1985. With the death of longowal, a month or so after the signing of the Panjab accord 1985, the majority of the 11 points on the memorandum have been ignored/forgotten. and with that, we too seem to have forgotten. also, lets hit the stick beneath our own seat first. the Panth needs a Jathedar appointed by Sarbat Khalsa. one who is an actual spiritual leader without control or influence from any outside politically motivated sources. aur fir...hume mukamal hindoostan chahiye :excited:

  6. @ N30Singh - I've just read the Anandpur Sahib Resolution on Wikipedia and I was very impressed with the issues it wished to highlight. Like you said there are a few amendments that need to be made according to changing circumstances over the years, but overall I think it is a great building block from which Sikh movements should aim to advance.

  11. The four convicts in the December 16 gang rape-cum-murder case were on Friday awarded death penalty by a Delhi court which said the gravity of the offence cannot be tolerated. "Death to all," Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna said while delivering the verdict in the case that had evoked nationwide outrage and led the government to bring in a stringent anti-rape law. "Besides discussing others offences, I straightaway come to section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. This falls under inhuman nature of the convicts and the gravity of offence they committed cannot be tolerated. Death sentence is given to all the four convicts," he said. The offence committed by Mukesh, 26, Akshay Thakur, 28, Pawan Gupta, 19 and Vinay Sharma, 20, falls under the rarest of rare category warranting capital punishment, the judge said. The four were convicted by the court on September 10 for the gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old paramedic student. "The court cannot turn a blind eye to such a gruesome act," the judge said, while handing down the maximum punishment. He said, "When crime against women is rising on day-to-day basis, so, at this point in time court cannot keep its eye shut." "There should be exemplary punishment in view of the unparallelled brutality with which the victim was gang-raped and murdered, as the case falls under the rarest of rare category. All be given death," the court said while reading out a portion of the order. The court had on September 10 held the four guilty of various offences including gang rape, murder, unnatural offences, attempt to murder, dacoity, destruction of evidence, conspiracy, kidnapping or abducting in order to murder, while acquitting them of the charge of murder in dacoity. Immediately after pronouncement of sentence, the victim's mother expressed satisfaction over the verdict. "'Halak mein saans atki thi, jo ab bahar nikli hai. Mein dhanywaad karti hu desh ke logon ka aur media ka (We were waiting with bated breath, now we are relieved. I thank the people of my country and the media)," she said. Besides her, the victim's father and two brothers were also present in the jam-packed courtroom when the sentence was pronounced. Hearing that he will face the gallows, Vinay started crying in court while the other three convicts -- Mukesh, Pawan, Akshay -- started shouting for pardon, with one of the defence lawyers A P Singh also joining them in seeking mercy. Advocate V K Anand, who appeared for Mukesh, said he has regard for the verdict and he will file an appeal in the Delhi high court. Special public prosecutor Dayan Krishnan said, "I have done my job and we (prosecution) are happy with the verdict." Soon after the verdict was delivered, people waiting outside the courtroom started clapping. The girl's mother said that no such victim should remain silent and must come forward to lodge a complaint. Defence counsel A P Singh said he will move high court only "if no other rape takes place in next two months after this verdict". "If the country wanted this case to be a deterrent, I will wait for two months to see the crime scene. If no rape takes place due to death being given in the instant case, I will give in writing that my clients be hanged," he said. Vinay, who started crying and screaming after the order, sat down in the courtroom when the police personnel came to take him back to jail. The post-lunch work at the Saket Court had come to a standstill with court staff members and litigants eagerly waiting for the pronouncement of the quantum of sentence. The corridors of six-storeyed court building was crowded with people. Groups of people had assembled outside the court complex to know about the verdict and as soon as the order was delivered, they started raising slogans that the juvenile convicted in the case by the Juvenile Justice Board, should also be hanged. "Juvenile ko bhi phansi do (Give death penalty to juvenile also," was the slogan raised by people outside the court complex. The juvenile accused was on August 31 convicted and sentenced to a maximum of three years in a reformation home. On the night of December 16, last year, Ram Singh, Vinay, Akshay, Pawan, Mukesh and the juvenile had gangraped the girl in a bus after luring her and her 28-year-old male friend, who was also assaulted, on board the vehicle, which was later found to be plying illegally on Delhi roads. The victim's friend, a software engineer, suffered fractures in his limbs. The girl succumbed to her injuries on December 29, 2012 at a Singapore hospital. Ram Singh, 34, was found dead in the prison cell in March and proceedings against were abated. The incident shook the nation's conscience and sparked massive protests. It prompted a number of steps by the Centre and the Delhi government to ensure safety of women, curb such incidents and facilitate quick disposal of cases. http://www.samachar.com/Delhi-gang-rape-All-four-convicts-get-DEATH-njnpN3fhdee.html?source=recommended_news

  13. With the Indian State run Media slow to report on the plight of Sikh Prisoners and Bhuk Hartal of Gurbaksh Singh, maybe it's high time that all Panth Dhardhi Singhs go on hunger strike on a specific date for a day or two at a global level. Just as pledge orange was so popular when GOI tried to hang Balwant Singh Rajoana, something of this magnitude is required to make governments worldwide sit up and listen. .

  18. Police confirm body is of missing Bradford mum Seemberjeet Kaur 6:00am Saturday 7th December 2013 in News By Hannah Postles, T&A Reporter Seemberjeet Kaur Police last night confirmed the body of a woman pulled from the River Aire near Leeds is that of missing Bradford mum Seemberjeet Kaur. A member of the public reported a body in the water near Leeds station at about 1.35pm on Thursday – a little more than six weeks after the 35-year-old disappeared from her home in East Bowling. A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday and the body had been formally identified as Mrs Kaur. Her death was not being treated as suspicious and her next of kin had been informed, he added. The married mum sparked a massive police search when she failed to collect her daughter, who was three but has since turned four, from nursery on Wednesday, October 23. There had been no positive sightings of Mrs Kaur since about 1pm that day, when she was captured on CCTV on the Leeds-Liverpool canal towpath near Roberts Park, Saltaire. Mrs Kaur, who had been taking medication for depression, had taken a taxi to Salts Mill from her home at about 10am. Officers said they were particularly concerned for her welfare because she was suffering from anxiety and may wrongfully have had concerns about her health. Police underwater teams had been carrying out searches along the canal and the River Aire from Saltaire towards Leeds, as well as scouring the park, woods, gardens and outhouses. Detectives also carried out sonar searches concentrating on a small stretch of the River Aire which flows through Roberts Park. Two weeks after she went missing, officers carried out an ‘information seek’ operation in the park, where residents were shown a photograph of Mrs Kaur to jog their memories and asked to fill out questionnaires to establish whether they might have seen her. Her family had spoken of their hope she was still alive, saying her disappearance was out-of-character. The Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held in Mrs Kaur’s death. http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/10862400.Police_confirm_body_is_of_missing_Bradford_mum_Seemberjeet_Kaur/

  19. Updates from Gurdwara Amb Sahib – Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s Hunger Strike Enters 33rd day By: Sikh24 Editors Gurdas Mann with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, Damdami Taksal, can be seeing in the picture as well. AJITGARH, Punjab (December 17, 2013)—Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s hunger strike has entered the 33rd day. Bhai Sahib remains in rising spirits and speaks to the Sikh congregation whenever possible. Ever since announcing his fast until death, he has remained steadfast in his demands to free Sikh political prisoners. At the same time, he has continued to remain imbued in naam and prayer. While Chaupai Sahib recitation has continued at Gurdwara Amb Sahib, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh spends much of his time listening to other banis and kirtan. Just yesterday, after a group of Gursikhs arrived from Jallandhar and started doing kirtan around midnight, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh got up to be in sangat. This past Monday, a large scale march was taken out from Damdama Sahib that reached Gurdwara Amb Sahib. Sikhs from a number of villages took part in the march and raised awareness of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s message. While much is being done by Sikhs worldwide to raise awareness, the campaign has not received much support at a local grassroots level. In addition, the self proclaimed Saint’s Union, Sant Samaj members who had received much love and respect from Bhai Gurbaksh Singh have now gone quiet and have remained absent from further meetings at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. Damdami Taksal Jathedar, Baba Harnaam Singh who is the President of Sant Samaj has remained missing ever since Bhai Gurbaksh Singh started his hunger strike on November 14. Today, Sikhs across Punjab (including Chandigarh) will be holding protests outside offices of Deputy Commissioners to bring awareness of the cause. Sikh24 is making the following suggestions to bring the movement to the next level – 1) First and foremost, Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadriawale should organize diwans at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. He should start a march from Gurdwara Parmeshuar Dwar and arrive at Gurdwara Amb Sahib to express full solidarity with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s mission. 2) Preachers such as Giani Pinderpal Singh and Bhai Amrik Singh (Chandigarh) who have supported Panthik causes in the past should be invited by Sikh Sangat to hold regular programs at Gurdwara Amb Sahib. Bhai Amrik Singh openly spoke in favour of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, however Giani Pinderpal Singh has remained silent. 3) Sikh Sangat in Punjab should once again hoist “nishan sahibs” atop their houses to express solidarity with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh. 4) Panthik leaders should draft a list of detainees of other communities who have completed their sentences but remain lodged in jails. This list should include a list of Tamil and Kashmiri detainees, amongst others. 5) Sikh Sangat living worldwide should contact their Government officials and Human Rights Organizations and seek their involvement in this case. An email template has been made available on Sikh24.com that can be copied and forwarded. In addition, sangat living worldwide should request their relatives and friends to visit Bhai Gurbaksh Singh at Gurdwara Amb Sahi. We believe point #1 is most important because people in villages who stand with Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale need to rise and join Bhai Gurbaksh Singh. This can only happen if personalities like Baba Dhadrianwale openly support the cause of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh. Although Bhai Sahib has visited Bhai Gurbaksh Singh in person a number of times, he is yet to hold a program at Gurdwara Amb Sahib.

  26. Simran345, Don't get stressed and bogged down with names of mantars. Leave that for scholars to argue over. Who cares if it's called mool mantar, maha mantar, beej manatar, sadhant mantar etc etc etc You just pick the one you feel like japping and do the practical reciting. That is where you will find the true essence. Not in the title of the mantar. The underlying motive of japping a mantra is to reach the abode of Waheguru right, so recite with full faith and devotion and let it be the guide for the inward journey. You are japping for your own benefit with love so how can anything you jap from gurbani take you the wrong way or do you more harm than good. You will be totally blind on the inward path anyway so let the mantar do the guiding, you just follow it... Lets say you jap any mantar with such intensity and devotion that Waheguru blesses you with his darshan in whatever form that maybe, so fast, that you supposedly die from it. That is possibly the most extreme thing that could happen to you as an individual. Wouldn't it be worthwhile? Haven't you fulfilled the objective of this life and died at his feet? The point I'm making is why be afraid of the consequences of his jaap. He is within you and knows it is he you seek. The references to dieing in the shabad below are killing/subduing the thoughts of the mind by using the mantra of his name. Raag Maajh Guru Amar Das, Ang 115 ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ Guramukh Paaeae Mokh Dhuaar || The Gurmukh finds the gate of salvation. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ Anadhin Rang Rathaa Gun Gaavai Andhar Mehal Bulaavaniaa ||7|| Night and day, he is imbued with the Lord's Love. 27. Those prisoners have completed their prison sentences. It is against the law for the government to still keep them in prison. And why is the law always only for the Sikhs? why arent the Hindus and Jains who killed the Sikhs in 84 behind prison walls? why this double standards? Even during colonial times, the British did not keep political prisoners in jail after their sentences were finished. The Indian government and people who justify their unconstitutional actions are worse than the British.

  32. Yes, because Gurbani shows us how to deal with anxiety. People that are shy will be able to face the fear of speaking in front of people without feeling they are being judged. Reading Gurbani takes the stress away. A person with anxiety focuses on how others will perceive him doing a certain act. Therefore the person cannot focus on how to complete the act, but what will happen as everyone will be looking and judging me. Gurbani takes the person's focus from the judging and turns it to the task at hand. Say you were to do a speech. Many people with anxiety will waste majority of the time worrying and very little time preparing for the speech. Gurbani changes the thought pattern of the person to actually practicing the speech and how to improve. Make reading Gurbani a regular routine in your life and you will notice the difference. Read and understand, you will see a lot of improvement.

  35. We couldn't make the Indians even regret, forget apologize about 1984. Look at the power of sovereignty, this minister is apologizing a 100 times! All this after Nigeria threatened to throw Indians on the roads.! Goa: Minister apologises 100 times for "racist" comment on Nigerians Panaji, Nov 7: A minister in Goa landed straight into the ditch of controversies after saying that "Nigerians are like a cancer". But taking a U-turn, he has apologised and told NDTV today, "I apologise 100 times and regret my mistake." Dayanand Mandrekar, the Arts and Culture Minister in the BJP government, said, "I said what I felt... (but) I did not mean to label the entire Nigerian community." The Goa government's reaction to the murder of a Nigerian last week has been described as "insulting" by Nigerian diplomats. They alleged that a drive to identify and deport foreigners without valid visas has been racist and indiscriminate. A group of 200 Nigerians blocked a major high way and clashed with the police and locals after last week's murder of a Nigerian in Mapusa. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar then ordered the police and officials to identify Nigerians who are illegal residents of the state, and said they must be deported. In a village in Mapusa, a banner that declares "Say No to Nigerians, Say No to Drugs" reflects the unsubtle racism that has engulfed the area. When asked if this was a matter of concern for his government, the Chief Minister said, "There is this feeling because more Nigerians have been arrested for indulging in the narcotics trade." His colleague Michael Lobo, BJP MLA from Calangute too said that "98% of Nigerians and African nationals were involved in the drug trade in Goa". When asked if these were sweeping generalizations or if he could substantiate his claim, Mr Lobo said, "Ask anybody in Goa. They will all agree." http://www.samachar.com/Goa-Minister-apologises-100-times-for-Nigerians-are-like-a-cancer-nlhsNFjigid.html Remember how they had billboard signs in several Indian states where there was an image of a Sikh and the banner read "Can you trust this man?" We couldn't do anything because we weren't and aren't sovereign! I repeat, sovereignty is our only solution, and sovereignty means freedom to make your own decisions. Decision making power is what real freedom and sovereignty is.

  36. Nigerian national death case: Nigeria upset over investigation by Indian authorities Panaji: A week after a Nigerian national was murdered in Goa, allegedly linked to a war between two gangs involved in drug trafficking, Nigerian ambassador Ndubuisi Vitus Amaku said, "We are being given the impression that the murder of this person is not important to you, your only concern is that of your own people." He also added that the situation is volatile and demanded proper action. "I think both governments can handle it through diplomatic channels. Its not an issue than can be sorted through the media or press." Meanwhile, MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said, "We have asked the Chief Secretary of Goa to give a detailed report about the incident." On Wednesday, the Goa police arrested one of the eight suspects who according to initial investigation, murdered the Nigerian national. According to Goa police a narcotics-related turf-war between rival gangs operating in north coastal Goa led to the murder. With the motive still unclear the hunt is on for the other suspects. The arrest came a day after a Nigerian consular official gave a thinly veiled threat saying, "There are only 50,000 Nigerians living in India but there are over one million Indians living in Nigeria. Thousands of Indians living there will be thrown out on the streets if forcible eviction of Nigerians in Goa does not stop." However, the Nigerians have denied of giving such statement and have blamed the Indian media for it. Earlier, enraged Nigerian nationals had protested on the National Highway 17 in Goa last week. The agitated mob had even refused to move the body of the deceased. While the first arrest in the case may soon lead the police to the root of this murder, the Nigerian community is complaining of being harassed by the police for verification of their identities. The issue has now gone beyond law and order concerns with a diplomatic war brewing between Indian and Nigeria. http://www.samachar.com/Nigerian-national-death-case-Nigeria-upset-over-investigation-by-Indian-authorities-nlguPebaihg.html?source=recommended_news

  37. Giani Kartar Singh was an accomplished poet, and his writings are masterpieces of historical poetry. I have one of his books, and my Vidiya Guru had all his books. The originals are not available anymore. Its a shame that he was behind this act of mutilating Sri Benti Chaupai. Bhaji, it was no random exclusion, the line Kirpa kari hum par JAG MATA smacked too much of the "Devi", the Hindu Goddess, and so it was taken out, and since that passage was taken out, nothing after it could remain either. Quite simply, these people never understood the meaning of what Guru Ji was saying.
