  1. Brazil has a huge crime rate because it has huge disparity between haves and have-nots, huge drug gang culture ...not necessarily race related ...but if you go there you have the rich white brasilians lording it over poor indigenous indians or blacks who are their servants ....much like pre civil rights USA. My Kids are mixed but SIkhs so you can take your opinion and shove it they are better humans beings than you could hope to be .

  2. What we already know is now so official even the Hindus can't deny it although the India loving Sikhs will still erase it from their mind. Some of them (India supporting Sikhs) still hang on to outdated notions of the position of a Sikh, not realising what the reality actually is. For example, they often like to quote these 3 misconcptions: Misconception: Punjab is the richest state in India. We're doing great there. Fact: Punjab stopped being the richest state in India many many years ago. Over the last 5 or 6 years it has been slipping lower and lower at an alarming rate and is now at a danger of slipping into the lower half of the table. Misconception: Sikhs have respect in India. The dastar has respect in India. Fact: Sikhs, are the national joke. That 'fact' is so inbedded and into the culture of India that it is absolutely 100% ok for children, TV stars, news, work managers etc to make these remarks about "how thick in the brain dept the sikh is". If thats 'respect', then please god give me disrespect anyday. Misconception: India is a free secular country in which Sikhs are equal 1st class citizens. Fact; Officially wrong !!! The following was published in India a couple of days ago. It shows that Sikhs in India suffer from exactly the same institutionalised prejudice within the system that blacks in America suffer from. Exactly the same. Now, bearing in mind how a Sikh is far less likely than a Hindu to be a member of a criminal tribe, far less likely than a Hindu to be homeless and thus desperate to steal etc the following results are absolutely startling. There are many institutions and over the years we, as Sikhs, have been handed example after example of how that institution sees Sikhs as little more than animals. For example within education the Indians keep telling us how much they dislike us in the way that they send our kids home from exams for wearing the 5 k's, send kids home for wearing the dastar etc. It keeps happening but we've remained asleep. But the recently released statistics about the Indian criminal justice system are damning beyond words. The stats show clearly what kind of a life, freedom and future a Sikh and his children have in India. The stats show clearly what India officialy thinks of his and his children's value as a human being. From arrest, to charge, to trial, to imprisonment.....the official Indian stats show clearly how the Sikhs are most persecuted community in India. The community MOST likely to have his freedom taken away from him and 3 times more likely to be imprisoned than a Hindu !!!!!!!! http://www.hindustantimes.com/india/hindus-least-likely-to-be-jailed-sikhs-christians-most-likely/story-Og4PhnhYsPlVLJglKyeOKL.html

  4. Really? Could u ask him to explain how roughly 2million bangali's were starved to death by the british for financial gains in 1943 in the bangali famine? Oh n lets not forget the irish potato famine which u very patheticly dodged in my previous bone crushing reply to u! Also regarding food banks, u can only use foodbanks 3 times in a certain period, where as guru nank dev jis unlimited free langar has been given to the world for past 500 yrs! Now the indigenous white ppl r using gurdwaras at record numbers in uk for langar, n they r most welcome.

  5. Thats exactly what I said a few messages ago when I talked about the article in the Times of India 5 days ago. That article made it clear that a powerfull shop owner in Jalandhar called Dinesh Khanna made disgusting remarks about Sikh Gurus and all the other Hindu shop keepers joined him and started pelting the Sikhs with bricks and stones. So thats Jalandhar city centre, the place that 80% of the overseas Sikhs do their shopping when back in Punjab. And yet here we are 4 or 5 days later and yet still no Sikh organisation anywhere has supplied any of the overseas Sikhs with the name of Dinesh Khanna's cloth shop and the names of the other shops that pelting sikhs with stones. We need the names of those shops so we can tell our families to boycott them. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Protesters-shopkeepers-clash-over-shutdown-call-in-Jalandhar/articleshow/49461702.cms

  6. Pen jee, your post is full of humanity and wsidom. But sometimes, only sometimes, it is good to give a slap to the evildoer, so that the next time, he thinks twice or thrice before doing any nonsense. One can not just go on troubling people, just like that, and not getting anything in return, like that at least of a good slap. Watch my words, I am not saying to give a good punch, just a slap . This should be enough to bring him back into senses. You see Pen Jee, some are bullies right from their childhood, though they may have grown up, but when they come into forums and interact with different people, they somehow continue with their bad habits, and this should not be tolerated by anyone, neither allowed in a public place, like this Sikh Sangat web. Really fed up with this type of goons.... Sat Sree Akal.

  7. All of the posters above are right, special care should be taken in watching or keeping an eye on those who behave like goons and spread disrespect, verbal abuses, controversies, and behaviours alike..... They think, that this Sikh Sangat website, is their father´s property, so they can say and do as they want, there should a control before it goes out of hands and far away, or too late. All these people should know, that this is a respectable web, nonsense should not be tolerated or inciting others into hot arguments, as they are very well versed in such evil or better said wicked behaviours. It is such a pity, that some of the members here have suffered threats online. We all know how foolish and stupid is the world going, specially online, many bad thing start from online. If ever any such cases arise again, apart from banning those posters, it should be reported to the local authorities, so that in the future, if anybody thinks of doing nonsense, he or she will have to think twice. Otherwise these people, get the sense that till now nobody has stopped them, so their ego gets boosted, and they will try reaching even still farther than what they have being doing till now. Hope, this thread started by brother Jacfsing2, does not go wasted in the dustbin... Sat Sree Akal.

  8. Jacfsing2 paji, when somebody has no sense, it's better just to not bother with them and don't take their actions to heart as only your soul will suffer. This world is full of nasty people of which some are soul less, meaning they don't care but for themselves and don't care if they hurt another. With these type of people, one should not waste time on but instead do simran to divert yourself from being affected by the negativity. Emotions are sensitive in some than others, and you should learn to balance them when in a situation like this. Defend yourself to the best you can and if still somebody underestimates or belittles your sincerity, then just walk away. Because nobody is worth stressing over but look after yourself.

  9. Yeah but keep it real. Insults online are a norm. You can go to any popular youtube video comment section and see. I hear what people are saying but there is also a point about not being an overly sensitive cry-baby too. Just saying.

  11. A 'Fact' already mentioned in my message, was the existence in our community of 'Uncle Tom' types, just as they exist in the American black community, so I don't think I need to respond in any detail to that remark. At the end of the day, only 2 types of Sikhs can look at the official Indian statistics which clearly show that a Sikh in Hindu India is 3 times more likely than a Hindu to be arrested - 3 x more likely than a Hindu to be charged with an offence - 3 x more likely than a Hindu to be taken to court - 3 x more likely than a Hindu to be given a custodial sentence by a judge - 3 x more likely than a Hindu to lose his freedom and liberty, and yet still come to the conclusion that India is the country for Sikhs. Those 2 types of Sikhs are: Blind ones or those sufering mental issues Uncle Toms

  12. It is common knowledge that people have become alot less religious and infact most of the western world is now atheist pretty much. They dont follow religion or practice their faith as they used to in the past many centuries ago when religion was very important to everyone's life. What has happened since then that has changed everything. Why is this happening and what is the cause. Why were people in the 16th 17th centuries alot more religious and devout in their beliefs and faiths? The answer is simple. In those days centuries ago the world was a grim, cold and lonely place. The avereage person did not know about science infact they pretty much didnt know about anything. There was no internet or books to read to gain knowledge. Infact there was no electricity, no light. no decent housing or infrastructure. It was just a harsh and dark environment were people had to endure. A world in which people did not know anything about the world they were living in. Hence in those ignorant days it was a great comfort to know that there was a God. To have reassurance that in there dark times there was a higher being who was looking over them. Hence religion naturally was more appealing to people. it gave them a sence of having meaning in their life in those bleak times. Were nothing was known about how earth was created and a million other discoveries that have now been made on our existence ect. Poeple now feel they have all the answers. they dont need that reassurance of an almighty because now their life is so much better. they have all of lifes comforts in life. they have electricity they are not living in dark and bleak places anymore. they have all materialism in life such as cars, houses, phones computers. they basicaly live in a world were they have no need for anything apart from their wealth and what it brings. our computers, phones, car electricity, has basically taken everyone away from their faith. The modern world is simply not a place were religion can thrive. Beacuse everyone knows everthing about the world. in those days nothing was known so people were more inclined to have a religion and have faith.

  15. Borat is you crazy? This isn't about preserving race! This is about protecting and nurturing a faith/way of life. If you're going to talk about race, we are closer to Pakistani Panjabis than anyone else..... What retarded worldview have you got anyway? Most of us 'mixed-race' if we go back in our family history. The quickest way for us to commit genocide is to start circling the wagons along racial lines and watch as more and more people hemorrhage away into other more progressive communities. Instead we should be smart like others are: who try and take the best and incorporate it into their community. Whether its the smartest brains, great personalities or most attractive looking. That's the reality of the what is going on out there. You must be really retarded to be parroting the 'racial degeneration theory' peddled by whites (that even they've now rejected by the way!)

  20. No body got time for mixed faith marriages here. They are illegal under Sikh law and marriage rites. If you want to marry a Sikh girl in a gurdwara you MUST convert to Sikhi or be atheist Christian hedonist all you want and convert your girl also cos we don't have time for atheist punjaban's either go marry in a church or registry office instead of causing your families stress and inciting the Sikh community to defend our Guru. Both of you are welcome into Sikhi and both of you will have to follow Sikhi if you want an anand karaj Sikh marriage ceremony. if not then don't bother disrespecting and mocking our Guru Ji with sham marriage as you can tell by the news we take our faith very seriously and take SGGS Ji more holier than quran or bible that you can just chuck around. SGGS Ji is our religious leader, our light in the darkness of this world. So we will not allow inter-faith weddings in Guru Ji's presence. It's as simple as that

  21. Partly the reason but the major reason is that since the advent of the UN in 1947 all nations are basically cooperating with each other on shady deals for each others interests, those who dont have a nation to give them a voice like the Sikhs basically don't have anyone standing up for them on the international stage where it counts. Sikhs were cleverly trapped in 1947 in the Indian union by false promises and assurances by the brahmin congress leaders who were in the pay of the british rulers. The Sikh leadership were groomed into becoming freemason's who had to do the bidding of the British administration. And thus the poor Sikhs were forced to migrate to East punjab from west Punjab their traditional heart land by muslim mobs unleashed and uncontrolled by the british imperialists and jinnahs muslim league. Problem is we dont have super power regional allies that can give refuge to Sikhs should the need arise to take up the gun against the Indian Union again. China is the only hope to check mate and crush Indian oppression, pakistani's cant be trusted because they would have an islamification agenda in the long run. As long as Sikhs remain friendless with major powers of the day, there is not much chance of getting freedom from the Indian Union. That's why a collapse of Pakistan and Indian Union is the best chance Sikhs can free themselves from the sufferings and be masters of their own political destiny. The enemies of Sikhs getting freedom are those high up in the western political circles but mainly in the British establishment because they are the ones who trapped Sikhs in this situation from the days of the destruction of Sikh empire. The American Govt via CIA was covertly aiding the Khalistan movement via Pakistani ISI through Dal Khalsa against the Indian govt and army who were backed by the Russian soviet Union govt and forces in 1980s. And the British and israeli govts were aiding the Indian govt and army, how balmy was that? See how they didnt want freedom for our people but just wanted our bloodshed so that they could sell more arms and attack their ideological enemy communist russia.

  25. he did well to speak up and the presenter over-reacted. The other 2 Asians were more media friendly with their right-on attitudes, e.g marry whoever you want wherever you want. I'm surprised the Muslim girl said she's happy to marry anyone unless she means as long as the husband converts to Islam. The BBC don't seem to be on the cutting edge of news and tend to jump on the bandwagon. Channel 4 news are more likely to cover what is happening in Punjab. We should stop expecting the Western media to speak up for us, and have confidence in ourselves to say what needs to be said like Jagmeet did. He spoke up with the courage inspired by our Gurus.

  26. Today I was just going through the Bani of First Patshahee in Sidh Gosht, and I feel, His following sweet words, are not only the answer for the shaheeds, but for anybody who wishes to become one with Him. Becuase the topic in this thread is if the shaheeds get mukti. But let us ask ourselves, why limit this beautful state to shaheeds only, or is it that, there is a nother method or way of getting mukti for the rest of the people or jeevas? Mukti is the same, irrespective of one´s faith or business or profession. Mukti is a state of purity, a level of consciousness, achieved by associating ourselves with the Supreme Truth within us, through His Simran, it is not something to speculate about. Shame on those who try to divert the attention on useless irrelevant views. So following are the paviter words of Sachay Patshah Baba Nanak : ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ Naanak Bin Naavai Kio Saach Samaavai नानक बिनु नावै किउ साचि समावै O Nanak, without the Name, how can one be absorbed in Truth? After reading these words full of wisdom of our beloved Guru Jee , what else is left to talk, explain, or debate about ? I think He can not be more explicit. He clearly says that without Naam (Simran), how can we ever merge in that Supreme Truth, namely Wahiguru. So, it is through Gurbani, that we come to know and understand, that if mukti or liberation can ever be achieved, it is by His Simran or meditation on Him, be it shaheed or anyone...if not, then do whatever we may, we shall remain for sure in the Cycle of Eighty Four, in this Mayavee creation. Sat Sree Akal.

  27. Mala is quite fine as its just a tool/minor aid at initial simran stages to help your surti drawn to the jaap, we need to see things in stages it will make quite a bit of sense if you see things in sikhi as spiritual development stages. Surely, mala can become dogmatic trap if one gets more attached with pointer rather whats pointer is pointing towards so caution is needed not have one's surti confined/attached to any thing made out of five elements/maya.
    1 point
  28. Dear Gupt Jee, in my humble opinion, one has not to be a gyani to know things, but just to pay carefull attention to what the Bani says. What is mukti? Mukti means to be free forever from the cycle of births and deaths. And this can only happen by merging our surtees in Wahiguru through His Simran, there is no other way nor shortcut. We also know Wahiguru is the only Truth, as is so His Naam or Shabad also. We also know, through Bani : Jin Har japeeya se Har hoeeya So if we do not ever use the tool of His Naam simran bhakti, how can our soul ever merge in Him? This is not a matter of beleving or debating, it is a simple perefct equation from Gurbani : He who meditates on Him, through His Naam Simran, gets united with Him, being one with Him. Now if we die willingly for any reason, in this case of Shaheeds, they will have to be reborn once again in a human form to do His bhakti of His Simran, in order to clear all karmas, whether of past, present or future, and not only that, but with this jugtee of His simran, get hold of Shabad Guru within, who will take us into His lap. There is no other way. Getting hold of Shabad Guru is only possible by His Simran, that is why in Gurbani so much stress is laid on Naam Simran, by Guru sahibans or Bhagat Janas. It is the soul which has to merge in the Shabad Dhun , and brother, this only and only is possible by fighting and winning the mind, with His Simran. The mind is knotted together with the soul, and this knot can only be broken with His Simran. No knife, no sword, no gun, no atom bomb, can ever break this knot of our soul with the mind, it is only the by the far superior power of Naam, which can release us from the clutches of the mind. I wished it was that easy to give up one´s life and merge in Him, that would be a very cheap deal to get mukti. When we die without His Bhakti of His Simran, our mind is very much with us, and there we can not go with it, we have to go as pure naked souls without any blemishes. His Simran, is the only purifier, plus we do not incurr in any karmas, otherwise without His simran, everything done, is karam, or subh karma, depends on the cases, and as such we shall remain very much in the Cycle of Eighty Four. Sat Sree Aakal.

And how does the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Committee think Modi will react when he comes to the Park Avenue Gurdwara and sees that 12 foot painting of Sant Bhindranwale and the jhujaroos fighting to the death against the Indian Army? Or that portrait of Sant Ji in the langar at Havelock? Utterly shameless. No principles, no conviction, and apparently, no brains.

  31. I think the time has come to look at things from a new/different perspective. You guys might hate me (lol, not here to find fans anyways haha) once you're done reading but I just felt like bursting the bubble. How many of you believe in (a) karma, (b) re-incarnation, © carry over of the soul's sanskaars from previous lifetimes, (d) impact of one's sangat/friend circle on one's personality/mindset/thought process, (e) impact of Western society on one's personality/mindset/thought process. If you believe in all of the above, you will also agree that (ready?) Sikhi is perhaps not for everyone. Maybe the men and women who marry non-Sikhs do not hold Sikhi as the number one priority in their life. Maybe? Perhaps? Its possible their priority is something else, something they see as justified but obviously its not Sikhi. No, I won't blame the parents, that is the usual rant. I will also agree with what Johnny veer said about raising the kid from day one in a Sikhi-based environment. However, considering point (a) to (e), you know that there is a limit to which parents can go. Parents cannot change their kids karmas, or past-life lekha jokha which the kid has to account for in this life. Therefore I repeat, Sikhi is (perhaps?) not for everyone. No I am not done yet. I have another bad news. Sorry if it hurts. Just as we're concerned about Sikh youngsters marrying non-Sikhs, its the same issue on the other side. Non-Sikh parents don't want their non-Sikh kids to marry into Sikh families. I've come across folks who primarily avoid marrying their kids to Sikhs because of meat and alcohol being consumed at the homes of those Sikhs. Then you have the age old caste cancer that prevails. There are an equal number of reasons why they wouldn't want their kids to marry into Sikh families as many as we have to stop our kids from marrying a non-Sikh. So lets not try to always raise an alarm when we are in the same boat as them. Only difference is that Sikhs do not go out grooming underage naive girls with the intention of converting them to Sikhism. But don't tell me there was never a "Sikh" who got involved with a gori just to become pakkaa. You didn't really think all of our modern day young Sikh boys and girls were all angels now, did you? Again, sorry if all that hurt, but it had to be said. Please do correct me wherever I am wrong.
