  1. Don’t die without taking amrit. Would highly recommend amrit sanchaar planned for 25th Dec as being inline with rehat of damdami taksaal. They have an Instagram page you can check out amrit_sanchaar_jatha_bhindaran Only those taking amrit or pesh can be present during the ceremony. Get in contact with numbers on posters above and they’ll confirm details

  7. He has the best lawyers, its not them but the legal system in India which keeps delaying and adjourning cases. This is a legal as well as a political case. More efforts, especially by Conservative supporters needs to put in, by exerting more pressure on the British Government, by that i mean Boris and the Foreign Secretary.

  10. I heard Shia women used to marry Singhs during puraatan times. However there was a "maryada" Singhs of those times used for 51 ikwanja days where the former shia women had to eat something that a muslmaan cannot eat. that is hilarious. why do the shia callers keep going on about Aisha though?

  11. wow that is interesting to know. The parallel Amritsar Singh Sabha is demonised for being Sanatan, casteist, "old guard" and for having Baba Khem Singh Bedi. This seems to bring the Lahore Singh Sabha down a notch due its self righteous stance and of course alignments with the corrupt scholars. Irish, including the IRA, helped sikhs and Indians during the freedom struggle from the British. It makes sense they were still looking at these things in the 1980s as well. Watch the new movie called Udham on Amazon Prime, it's about Shaheed Udham Singh and shows IRA helping him as well.

  12. I take that back. Now that I've thought about it, some people in the family are from urban backgrounds. They are a minority though (and through marriages). Maybe I'd call them peripheral? I still think that this idea of rural Sikhs vs Urban Sikhs (and how rural Sikhs are more committed to Sikhi or whatever) is retarded though. That's not been what I've seen. Even if proper urban Sikhs are different, it might well be that they have a different mentality or skill set that can help the community grow in other ways. I'm a Sikh from a rural background, as are most of my family, and probably the majority of the Sikhs I've ever interacted with (if you went a few generations back), so it's not like I'm unfamiliar with what they are like. Even when they've been in diasporas for a generation or two. Look at how apnay and apneean from pend backgrounds take the wildest risks, and pull the to settle abroad in urban areas. It's like most pendus crave that lifestyle. So slagging off Sikhs because they are from urban backgrounds doesn't seem logical.

  14. Sikh Political prisoner, Devinderpal Singh Bhullar was on Monday acquitted in a 1992 Terrorists and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) case registered against him at the Batala Sadar police station. Charges under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act and the Explosives Act were also slapped on Bhullar in the case that pertains to an encounter after a police party was ambushed by a group of militants. The designated TADA court of Surinder Singh which heard the case, dismissed the chargesheet filed by the Batala police and discharged Bhullar for want of evidence. The court accepted the plea of Bhullar’s counsel that there was no direct evidence to suggest his client’s involvement and neither were there any witnesses in the case. The chargesheet was filed by police in February and the former militant was granted bail by the TADA court in March in the case. The verdict by the designated TADA court will pave the way for Bhullar to apply for parole that was denied to him as he had not been acquitted in the Batala case. Bhullar can now move an application before the government seeking parole. He has remained behind bars since his deportation to India in 1995 followed by his arrest in a blast case. Bhullar had already sought parole after he was granted bail in the case on March 3 on surety bond of Rs 50,000. Bhavandeep Singh Sidhu of the United Akali Dal and Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa Sangharsh Committee welcomed the verdict by the court. “We expect Prof. Bhullar to be released from jail within a few days now,” he said. “This will allow Prof. Bhullar to apply for parole, however we hope that the 1993 case against him by Maninderjeet Bittu does not cause hurdles,” he added. Despite his acquittal in the TADA case, Bhullar will continue to remain under detention for his involvement in the September 1993 blast outside the headquarters of the All India Youth Congress (AIYC) in New Delhi, resulting in death of eight persons. He was sentenced to death by a Delhi court in the case. His plea for parole will be considered after he moves an application seeking the same. Though the Supreme Court had upheld his death penalty but later it was commuted to life term on medical grounds. Bhullar is currently undergoing treatment at the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here. He was not present in the TADA court that heard his bail application. He was admitted to the psychiatry ward of the hospital on June 12 last year after he was transferred on medical grounds from a hospital in New Delhi. He had complained of depression and other psychological problems. He was under detention at the Tihar Jail and was subsequently shifted to a hospital on the directions of the Supreme Court which took note of his mental condition Full News: http://singhstation.net/2016/04/prof-bhullar-acquitted-in-1992-tada-case/

  19. they definitely degrade women. doesn't matter if she won, she is still going to be seen in a bad nazar for the way she would have to dress to the globe. just ignoring it to be honest, I am not making it go viral on my whatsapp. she seems to look better in the pind video than she does in the miss universe atta! I think they also score you on answering questions. So the point is, why wear degenerate kapreh when you can beat them with brains? She looks decent in the suit in the video, no need to stoop down levels for tv, women should be able to wear desi suit to such events, to represent different cultures! some jatts were with the goray since colonial times. But I go home to punjab all the time and I cannot describe any jatts I meet there as being like foray, not even with the cringey 1950s haircuts! some people have unique names we got girls drinking with their dads now as well. In the pend this still doesn't happen due to izzat, in the uk jattis have caught up to this, previously kenya sikh girls and aunties were known for this lol! Jatts in punjab try to be modern and western, however their thinking is anything but and still backwards. yet boyfriend girlfriend gham are still done in a hidden way from family over there LOL yeh but what if they where lots of atta on their face like miss universe? true. but to be honest I am now seeing the sikh youth as well as jatt youth in the uk now, I am not sure how many of them recognise this as putteh gham anymore. Many of the girls probably have nanghi type pics on insta, I am surprised at afghan sikh girls doing this now, I though they were more strict as they are all sardars and marry quite early! I mean the the only thing I can be happy about here is that at least she is dressed decently here. it doesn't matter either way. it's still kinda behzti what a woman has to do at these contests that just sucks, now more women will try to dress nangi like beauty pageants.

  20. I need to take pahul, I have wanted to since pandemic. However I will be really annoyed if the panj piyaray can't even be bothered to read Kabyo Bach Benti Chaupai upto Arril, I would walk out of amrit sanchar if that happened. A super duper serious century long issue which is ignored!!! Also only sanchar to maryada, no extra naam dhrir stuff traditions added by some sects which I have heard about but need to be an eyewitness to myself! Can I attend an amrit sanchar just to witness if these additional events really happen which I have heard of? These amrit sanchar my way or the high way?

  23. Well, I just found a good example against what I said https://www.ndtv.com/indians-abroad/sikh-cabbie-saves-13-year-old-girl-from-paedophile-in-uk-1781957 Sikh Cabbie Saves 13-Year-Old Girl From Paedophile In UK Satbir Arora picked up the girl on February 20, dressed in her school uniform, after she booked his taxi to go from her home in Oxfordshire to Gloucester train station, the Metro.co.uk reported. : November 30, 2017 Satbir Arora was presented with a certificate for outstanding achievement in safeguarding. 1 London: A Sikh taxi driver has been hailed as a hero for saving a 13-year-old school girl in the UK from a planned abduction by a paedophile armed with knives, tape and sleeping pills, a media report said. Satbir Arora picked up the girl on February 20, dressed in her school uniform, after she booked his taxi to go from her home in Oxfordshire to Gloucester train station, the Metro.co.uk reported. But waiting for the girl was 24-year-old Sam Hewings, who planned to abduct her after she was dropped off. He had already discussed kidnapping, sedating and raping a victim on online forums, the report said. When no one arrived to meet the girl, the taxi driver asked her for more information but when pressed she declined to say more, it said. Mr Arora tried to ascertain whether the girl's parents knew where she was, while phoning the man she said she was meeting - making recordings of all of the calls. Mr Arora called his wife - with whom he runs the taxi service - and discussed his concerns with her, before passing the phone to the girl. The girl eventually confided in Mr Arora that her parents did not know where she was, it said. He then called the police, while also alerted a nearby police officer.

  26. I grew up around Irish (and plastic Paddies) in a local pub and work. A lot of them (the older ones anyway) were always very curious and shockingly well informed about 1984 for some reason? More than many Panjabis I've known. Irish seem very politically astute in this respect for some reason?

  36. Defender of all meaning defender of people from all backgrounds, no discrimination. And defending them from people who cause harm and limit freedom. And there's plenty of people trying to kill freedom directly and indirectly now. Have you not read the story of Satguru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji? You do not have to follow a persons ideology to defend it.

  37. for darpok 'singhs/kaurs ' Mohan Das Gandhi (so called mahatma) called Guru Gobind Singh ji a "misguided patriot" in a public forum. He was then slapped by a Sikh Officer Bhai Jagat Singh (Bhai Tejinder Singh) came running to a Gursikh's house one day. Bhai Sahib was an Air Force officer who used to serve with his beard open and brought a lot of Singhs into the Akhand Kirtani Jatha. At the home of the Singh, there was a Gursikh Mata jee. Mata jee saw Bhai Jagat Singh running in and asked "What's the matter?". Bhai Jagat Singh answered, "I heard a speech by Gandhi today. He was talking about Guru Gobind Singh and said that though Guru Sahib had good intentions, he was in the end just a misguided patriot for having taken up the sword". Mata jee asked, "How could you just listen to that? Why didn't you slap him?" Bhai Tejinder Singh replied, "That's exactly what I did! I got up and slapped him across the face and now I'm running from the police!" In 1947, Bhai Tejinder Singh went out for a walk and headed towards the famous Birla Mandir. Seeing the crowd there, he went closer and saw Gandhi doing lecture. When he heard the remark about "misguided partriot", Bhai Tejinder Singh had gone up to Gandhi and smacked him across the face. The crowd tried to catch him and beat him, but he got away. The Indian police were searching for him everywhere for having insulted their great leader so badly. Later a deal was worked out where he was released from the Air Force and no action was taken against him in order to keep this event quiet. He then used to teach keertan in Chandigarh and later left India. Funny how everyone remembers the "misguided patriot" comment, but no one brings up the fact that Gandhi got slapped for it. He , MK Gandhi also insisted the sikh gurus were hindus ...ab bol
