  1. If India will unravel, it would probably be through Punjab which is why the Central Government will never give up. If you saw what happened with the Kisan protests, the farmers of Tamil Nadu protested for several years and it fell on deaf ears. It was only until Punjab got involved that you saw real action. That is why we Sikhs are a threat ,because we have a knack of galvanising and organising in a way no body else in the subcontinent can. It was only after the Kisan convoy came from Punjab that the other states followed suit. We may think that the Government of India is a threat to our survival but the opposite is also true. The Government of India and all the apparatus sees us Sikhs as threat to their survival. I think the only thing that might bring the Hindu Hindu Hindustan is the threat of external aggressor, but you might have the rise of regional parties in India.

  2. So did Maharaja Ranjit Singh take Pahul from Buddha dal? And what maryada did he follow? Also Guruji themselves created new instruments. Guru Arjan dev ji created a new style of tabla. So they weren't considered with authenticity. And Guru Hargobind Sahib used dilruba which wasn't used by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. I am not aware of any hukam of Panjwe patshah about using tanti saaj. Only about reading gurbani as much as possible. Aavo Sikh satguru ki pyare, gavi Sachi bani. And shabad chaunkis have been a part of the Sikh tradition where they don't use any tanti saaj to sing. Except maybe dhol. Also about dal khalsa, do you know their views on bhagauti?

  3. Unless the Dravidian states of India also split, India isn't likely going to give up just Punjab, (don't expect any other North Indian Hindu state to leave, as they've been influenced by "Hindu Hindi Hindustan").

  4. The world has had bigger countries broken into smaller countries. The USSR is now 15 countries, Yugoslavia is now 6-7 countries. Czechoslavakia now 2 countries. Sudan, Eritrea, East Timor. Pakistan and Bangladesh became 2 countries. Scotland wants independence and there are numerous other independence movements. All those smaller countries in Europe are part of NATO.

  5. Every party in India is useless and gain their votes by promising freebies. Well that is what happens when you have democracy in third world countries.

  6. Not that the authorities have given much of a toss about such matters previously but given the mass floodings over there, will this go under the radar in the aftermath of that?

  7. The necklace seems like the fake costume jewelry women wear at weddings, it's so ugly only a certified retard would think he looks cool in it.

  8. On one hand this is clown behaviour... but when you've got a community like Muslims on your doorstep, it doesn't hurt to remind them that there's another community around with at least a little masculine presence. It's not a perfect world but you make do with the best you've got. At least they're not walking around with umbrellas...

  9. So why fight against mughals if the paapi souls were eventually going to kill each other. Why establish sikh towns? Why establish the concept of miri piri if Sikhs are not meant to rule in this world?

  10. That is why I believe it can be questioned. Was it added during the British rule. that would be very suspect.

  11. Hanji daas was trying to hint towards Khalsa raj is not some type of Sikh empire over this earth, otherwise Guru Sahib ji would have created it himself. (rather it's a climax of the world being filled with papi souls, they all gonna fight and kill each other, only those doing naam simran will remain protected) Satguru ji are the most supreme spiritual authority. All of us, our souls have so much burden of paap and remaining karams. Be it guru sahib ji or true mahapurkh, none of us are ready to receive what they want to give us.

  12. Guru Sahib was still guiding his sidki Sikhs - Bhai Makhan Shah. This 26 years is leela of Guru Sahib that we cannot explain. Why did Guru Arjan Dev not take up arms against Chandu or the Moghals? Why leave it to his 11 year old son? 10 jame of Guru Sahib but we Sikhs were and still are a minority in Panjab, never mind the despotic state of India or the world. The question you ask, can only be asked to the Guru really.

  13. Daas has a question. When Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji did joti jot they gave bachan ‘baba bakale’ (next guru sahiban are at Bakala sahib). But it would be 26 years before Sri Guru Tegh Bhadur Sahib Ji became pargat (guru sahib were in deep bhagati that period). If you think about it it’s beyond crazy that why guru sahib ji were living gupat that long? Why not guru sahib ji could have made thousands or millions of sikhs in that time, or even established raj over India or the world?

  15. I've recently seen these types of Western Sikhs up close. In some ways they're decent people: quiet, respectable, hard-working, non-drinkers, etc. But they're f****g soft mongs. Darpokh. Clueless aside from what the TV tells them. No curiosity about anything. Never speak up for themselves. Obsessed with video games and electronic gadgets. No life experiences whatsoever. They seem like bits of their souls are missing. No vitality. Just breathing and surveying the landscape like a wild beast. I'm getting wound up just writing this.

  16. But the current generation of sikhs living in the west they are too soft, not talking about the ones who came in the 60s and 70s. The young Sikhs today in the west do you think these people care about things going bad in the future or have any plans? My point is people living in bad conditions in India who are already used to chaos and uncertainty will be much more prepared for hard times than people in the west living in comfort.

  19. There were always sects. The beauty was we could still be united and respect each other yet be different. Just look at dasam pitas time. He told bhai nand lal ji not to fight, supported bhai khaniya ji's anti-violence agenda. Had hindus and muslims and mercenaries in his army. Send most women away from the fight (including mata jis) but allowed mai bhago to fight. Contradictions and opposing views everywhere. And also had a vaishnav and meat langar at the same time. Then later there were the sikhs who lived in jangals and fought. Then city sikhs like subheg singh and shabaaz singh. Then farmers like bhai taaru singh. Village dwellers like the singhaniya in mir mannus jail. No time was there when all sikhs were shastardhari, living in jangals. In fact there were udasees, seva panthis, bedis, nirmale, tarna dal vs budha dal division, then misls, followed by sikh rajas vs akalis. Then naamdhari showed up. The arguments in the 1900s were numerous. If sachkhand is an actual place vs avastha. If meat is allowed. If padshed is allowed. Dasam granth. If dakhani onkaar is actually called Onkaar Bani (pamphlet on that by Bhagat puran singh) And dont just blame the akjs. Many other sects dont believe in brahm kavach as part of dasam etc. I think the vaaja should have an important nostalgic place in our gurudwaras. It is a symbol of how sikhi spread to the masses, how it triumphed under colonial rule. How when the british were busying destroying our culture, taking away kaide/books and shastar away from our ppl. Sikhs co-opted their instrument and spread sikhi. Like the miniature saroops of SGGS used in the world wars. Part of our history of how Sikhs kept sikhi alive in hard times. And should be revered. Puratan is important so we don't lose any of our magnificent history and culture and skills. But it shouldn't stop us from adding more skills to our repertoire. Like maharaja ranjit adding cannons to his army and learning from the European soldiers about military training. (BTW most of those Europeans were french/Italian who having lost the napoleonic wars fled east and their hatred of the English is what attracted them to ranjit singh)

  20. Bro, I think we are very lucky these days in that we have access to untold books via the internet, and much of it free too! Initiatives like Sikhbookclub.com, panjabdigital library, scribd etc. I'm not saying all of it is quality, and I think most of what was written in english previously is skewed. But still, the panth has access to books in a way that it never ever had before. It's up to people to search and learn.
