have to agree with Namstang jee on this one. There are some real shardhaa-vale, chardhi kalah nihangs in India and indeed around the UK (only very few in UK though). And that to me is showing a lack of respect, tolerance and, inevitably, comedy.

I dont follow Nihang maryadha or anything yet i still find this quite sadistic. Dont you have ANYTHING better to do with your time?!

I dont agree with the killing of innocent animals, being a vegetarian out of choice, before my faith n dharam ever kicked in.

Just coz u put something in "fun" section.. dont make it fun.

i didn't say that.. can't we all get along and accept each other instead of mocking each other? fanatically arguing about whether Meat or not eating meat is right or wrong, it is a work of a fool as gurbani says:

Here is a sakhi which will be very hard to digest for some out there, because it may challenge their mindset:

This sakhi was told by a old nihang singh who was in nihang baba chet singh ji's time. It's between sant baba attar singh ji mustanewaley and sant baba chet singh ji budda dal.

Sant baba attar singh ji mustaneywale went to sant baba chet singh ji budda dal. Baba Chet Singh ji ate meat with full maryada (full ishana of oneself, recitation of sri akaal ustat or chandi di //). Baba Chet Singh Ji was sitting on a manja just about to eat meat when sant baba attar singh ji arrived. He did not felt right to eat Meat alone so he offered some to Sant baba attar singh ji mustaneywaley. Sant baba attar singh ji being veggie accepted this notion and ate it by reciting this shabad: Gurparsad Bhram Ka Nash

There were few chelas of baba attar singh ji mustaneywale who didn't understand this katuak of mahapursh and were shocked about this event and even to level to doubt their own mahapursh acts, but later they were given updesh that yes by eating meat it's somewhat effects person's spirituality but at the same time there are enough exceptional cases out there where eating meat does not effect their avasta. Their Avastha is sam(stable).

Waheguru Jeee...

I am so so so so so sorry for posting this then - I didn't realise so many people would take offense, or take it wrong..

OKAY so this is the real story behind this 'work of art':

Me and a friend were busy chatting away, and trying to stay awake during a lull in the conversation, my friend drew this..

so i teased my friend by saying i was going to post this on my blog.. then i said, no, better yet, let's post it on SS give evryone a laugh AND make u feel stupid..

so i put it in paint, cropped out the chat window vagara, kept just the drawing. then i asked, wht should i put the name as, as its best to remain gupt in such a situation blush.gif .. so me and my friend are sitting there trying to come up with a funny name.

being the stupid loser 15 yr olds we are, my friend and i came up with a few stupid names.. my friend goes ok do nang on bhang {haha we're not nang haters... well i dono bout my friend tongue.gif but yah.. my friend's been going on abt bhang nd sukaa lately.. so yahh u jst kinda havta know us i guess lol} and i said LOL nang on bhang da bacha... as in rolling eyes the way parents say u know.. so i was like hey ok we cant come up with anything lets jst do tht.

so i did! and im so sorry tht anyone got offended.. getting all serious.. the image has nothing to do with nangs - its jst a 'coincidence' tht the name connected with Akal Takht Sahib maryaada concerning chatka in your mind.. Jeeo, the 'artist' was not trying to imply anything at all, and it's quite sad that u assumed so.. as for vegetarian fanatic? u dont know how wrong u are..

Inspire others to come into real sikhi instead of pushing them away.. just a serious thought..

vicky singh veerji.. can u explain wht u meant by that..? the drawing wasnt meant to mean anything.. or show anything.. jst us being stupid..

wow if i ever thought ppl's take it this wrong, i never would have posted it.. it was jst some innocent fun..

sorry no.gif

bhull chuk maaf

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh..

    • Gurfateh Sangat Ji,   Recently came across this GoFundMe for this Singh and his treatment. Let's contribute if we can.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/my-husband-needs-fund-for-his-cancer-treatment-?viewupdates=1&rcid=r01-173944584254-bf0b275700784313&utm_medium=email&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_email%2B1137-update-supporters-v5b     Gurbar Akaaluhhh
    • All 10 sikh gurus are Surya vanshi Jats. Bedi trehan bhalla and sodhi are descended from Surya vsnhi king Dasrath father of Sri ram, laxman, Bharat, and shatrugunah.  Sri ram birth lav and kush from whom bedi and sodhi come, Bharat bhalla, and laxman trehan guru angad dev jis gotra.  That's why the sikh gurus military capital aka Akal Takhat had Surya vanshi flags. Hari Mandir was also constructed after Babar destroyed Ram Mandir as a symbol that Ram Chanders legacy and descendants were still alive in kal yug and that the resistance to invaders was fully active.  The British created the sgpc to suppress this knowledge as they wanted to divide sikhism from its roots so they could divide and rule, as punjab was the last region that had not come under their pay check. False parchariks under the East India Comlany pay roll manufactured the divide between sikh and hindu when in fact they are the same thing. This divide eventually led to Operation Blue Star.    Bhul chuk maf karna.  Their original clan flag
    • Ik i'm a few (13) years late but basically: Get a single Mal-mal dastar (around 3-5 metres) and starch it. You just whisk 2 ladles of starch (Kershaw's, cornstarch or maida) with around 5 cups of water until it's completely smooth and mix it on low heat flame for around 20 mins until it goes clear and think like water. When this cools off, take a clean but damp turban and soak it into the starch and make sure you coat the whole dastar evenly You leave it out to hang dry in the sun/air. Once dry u can store it in a cool, dry place until you wanna tie it (for about 4 months) Take the dastar, sprinkle some water all throughout the turban to make it slightly wet and just soft enough to tie. Then you and another person hold the dastar at each end to make a stretched rectangle (two people holding one corner in each of their hands). Fold it in half width-wise 3 times. Tie the turban like this quite loosely. The starch will make it tighter as it dries BUT TIE IT STAIGHT ONTO YOUR HEAD. NO MINi-TURBAN BENEATH IT. JUST TIE YOUR FLATTENED JOORA ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD AND THE DASTAR DIRECTLY ON TOP Secure it with pins and wear it on your head until it has dried from the water you sprinkled before the pooni. After it has completely dried (give it around 3-4 hours just to make sure) you take it off your head DO NOT UNWRAP IT TAKE IT OFF IN IT'S SHAPE and the next time you need to wear you can just place it on your head over your flattened joora instead of tying this. You can do this for around 5 months after you first tied it until you have to ever tie it again.
    • I tie a Punjabi style dastar with starch. Why do people hate this so much? Once when I was tying my dastar my neck seized up and the apna doctor said staying in that position daily for more than 5 mins is dangerous. He recommended a starched pagg like his dad. And I respect my pagg more than my life. I put it on the top shelf of my cupboard whenever it isn't on my head, recite Waheguruji da naam whenever I am tying my joora, fifty and when i place the Dastar on my head and I mata thek and kiss  it before I do. And when I do tie it (every 4 months when the starch starts to weaken) I make sure that I pooni and tie it with much love and whilst reciting paath. I get that if someone treats their turban like a hat (eg: throwing it on the floor, cramping it or just disrespecting it) then this is unacceptable but just cos one puts their pagg on their head rather than tying it each time doesn't mean they treat it as such. (and let's be honest, starched or not we've all put our dad's pagg on our head like a hat when we were kids as a joke and meant no disrespect. Intention is everything). Ik Singhs who get angry tying their pagg and start doing maa/phen di gaaliyan, and when they take it off they just throw to the side and wait to tie it again next time. (Also, I'm from a Jat Sikh family so pls don't try to make this about "starched paggs are tarkhan/caste based" or anything stupid like that). PS: I do remember that stupidness in the 90s/early 2000s UK when Sikh men used to have a tiny starched paggs and were completely clean shaven or had a little goatee like Herbie Sahara/ Vijay from achanak. Now THAT was stupid and deserves all the hate but I just mean the concept of a starched dastar whether it's Punjabi Style, Kenyan style or whatever
