This is not a part of Sikhi, because there are no castes in Sikhi, but this is a huge part of Punjabi Culture. PC and Sikhi are complete opposites of each other. But when people try to mix the two, you get Ramgharia Gurdwaras, which in itself is an oxymoron.

Sat Sri Akal:

Singh and Kaur are the ONLY surnames that a Sikh should adopt. It is the hukam of the Guru Sahib. Even Guru Sahib himself took that name and so did the Panj Pyare.

If Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji has written "Khalsa Mero Roop Hai Khaas", then unless you are the embodiment of Guru Sahib, I would not adopt Khalsa as a surname either.

Nobody around here would even think of making a gurudwara named after a caste. If they did Im sure myself and some other Singhs would walk right up to whoevers planning it and give them a big thappar across their face.
