CHURCH SHUTS DOWN AFTER DALITS BECOME SIKHS IN PUNJAB VILLAGE

DAILY SIKH UPDATES | 28 February, 2015 at 20:21

"In village Daoke, Punjab, which is surrounded by Pakisani territory on all three side, the Dalit families have converted to Sikhism.

The church was constructed on donated land in the border village and has been shut down for few months. The managing priest shows up for once or twice a month to maintain the building.

Ten years ago, Christian missionaries had converted an estimated 200 Dalits. After conversion, the Punjab Govt denied benefits which would have been given if they remained their native religion as they would be categorized in Scheduled Caste.

The Dalits of the village have stated they have converted without any outside pressure and are firm on their decision.

The district of Amritsar had many villages which became Christian but recently many have returned to their native faiths. Recently, 3 other churches in the District were shutdown due to re-conversion.

A local villager stated many of the families were lured by missionaries in promise of benefits."

Seems its been countered in other places. They r jus bribing poor ppl with incentives to leave sikhi, n join this crappy fake middle eastern cult. This is all at the end of the day the sgpc's fault, they got so much money, they cud pay for the finances for a lot of poor families, who r in trouble, via pind-to-pind sikh parcharaks, like wat sant jarnail singh used to do. He got many many ex-sikh/communists back into sikhi, and on hardly any budget. These christians r jus using money to target ppl, not even anyfink spiritual, or storytelling inspiring, coz it cant compete with sikh history, nothing can.

Brother, Punjab will never be a lost cause, it can never be one. All of our most sacred Guru Ghars are there. We cannot ever abandon them to the Brahmins and the Christian missions.

Lopping of heads? The admin on this forum allows such horrid remarks?

The original poster is some Jai-Hind Bharat Mata Ki Jai psycopath who believes there is an imminent war coming between Western civilization and Dharmic civilization, which he insists that India is bound to win. He is in all likelihood a troll.

Time and time again I have stated to the elders what we need to do is what they are doing.

What they are doing is helping and feeding the poor.

Seva is part of our dharam yet unfortunately we have failed is certain parts of applying seva. What these missionaries are attempting to do (some parts successfully) is helping the poor, feeding them assisting them and then also handing them a bible.

In my opinion what we need to do collectively we have big aid charities now that go over the world and or have teams in Punjab, we need to have weekly soup kicthens, food banks and do parchaar at the same time. If these aid charities have teams in Punjab this should not be so difficult.

For too long the Sikhs have turned a blind eye to the Isaaiees in Punjab, I say when will we wake up, when its too late (as usual) this is the mentality always. Seriously, we need to reform ourselves in our attidude of how it used to be.

Its just poor people in punjab who are being targetted by the christians. If the Jatt peope didn't treat them like garbage they wouldnt be so easily manipulated. I heard stories of Jatts not allowing poorer sikhs even enter the Gurdwaras. Seems to me Jatts are forgetting how they used to be treated by "higher caste" rajputs in the past

The problem is present in all faiths , I see many christians in news rue the thin presence in Sunday masses , sale and closures of Churches in west , even muslims personally fear declining trend among youth ( the hardline migration toards ISIS are but miniscule and not representative of majority) . The youth generally drift away at certain age and then come back after realising there is little difference in this or that faith .Only thing we can do is , give our kids proper ubbringing and impart basics of our faith so they can imbibe the tenets and fight the evil effects from outside

The problem is corruption/caste/group tribal politics have crept too much in our sikh panth that we have just lost directions have no sense of prioritizing our duties, failed to see overall big picture for betterment of the panth. We totally misunderstood concept of Piri* in Miri-Piri. We definitely have to raise bar and work together on common causes leaving our minor differences aside. I mean amount of small stuff we fight over is so so so petty- Outsiders laugh at us.

Sarbat khalsa should create different levels of threat our panths faces/risk management etc so public can understand gravity of suitations panth faces. They should create an criteria different level of threats(extreme high, high, medium low)/ criticality level panth faces based on that prioritize our response. For example- when it comes to outside conversion scholarly/ideology attacks then this should be declared under extreme high threat and at that point everyone should comes together as one unit/team use all our energies to mitigate that threat. Human already have natural instinct to work together for example if earth quake hits town or city, everyone works together even person-friend and foe-extreme enemy of someone works together as it affects both. So first we need to realize gravity of a problem, relate to it, acknowledge the shortcoming then work together.

It's doable with lot of awareness campaign from pind to pind and with lot of hard work, we need leaders who have obsession with truth, integrity, honesty, obsession with outcome/output results/bigger results. we need people who can put their differences/egos aside and say look i m willing to work with you as team as panth is facing more bigger problems-external threats.

*, Miri-Piri has nothing to do with regular politics that we often see in sikh jagat these days which is born out of mind- five vices- jealously/irkha/tribalism, worldly moral compass, trai gun maya- rajo, sato, tamo etc. In Gurmat, Piri- sipahihood/right actions-sat/santokh/dya/dharam/mokham/himmat/sahib/fair policy for humanity is naturally born or spontaneously risen out of dharma miri - saint, thats why sant is first then sipahi not the other way around.

The divine Miri Piri started by Sri Guru hargobind sahib is born naturally from pure divine consciousness (hukam rajia chalna- abide in hakum and follow through hakum which is always unfolding and its constant and unintermittent flow) and its not meant to saw through lenses of from maya or mind nor piri can be manually enforced by condioned mind.

This will continue, if we don't get the message out that Sikhi is the one and only dharam in which:

1. Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji is accepted as the bravest of the brave. Hindu's and Muslims universally despised those from so-called scavenging castes and made a point of emphasising them as cowards as seen in Pakistan today.

2. Shaheed Bhai Sangat Singh Ji led the Sikh Fauj at Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj's behest. Similarly, the Hindu's and Muslims scoffed at the Sikhs for in their eyes they saw our Khalsa Fauj being led by in their view "just a low caste Chamar".

3. Dhan Dhan Kabir Ji Maharaj and Dhan Dhan Ji Maharaj true words were immortalised and protected from adulteration by their enemies solely within Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Only Sikhs are true Ravidassi's. Congress supporters based at Dera Ballan do not have right to appropriate that term away from the Panth.

4. Giani Ditt Singh Ji of Singh Sabha wiped the floor in debates with Christians, Ahmadi's, Muslims and Hindu's. All of Giani Ditt Singh's non-Sikh opponents (as well as Khemu Bedi of Sodhak Committee fame) despised Giani Ji for being of leatherworking ancestry whilst the Christians, Ahmadi's, Hindu's and Muslims all boasted of their so-called high caste status. Through Bhai Lalo Ji we know who is and is not truly high.Whereas tarkhans had low ritual status in Hindu and Muslims, Sardar Jassa Singh led a united fauj of Sikhs in the Ramgarhia misl in which around 90% of the brave warriors were not carpenters but were erstwhile Jatts, Brahmins, Saini's, Leatherworkers, Weavers, Scavengers etc, etc who all united into a united casteless army under his command. Again we see Congress sycophants trying to appropriate a saanjha misl away from the collective historic pride of the whole Panth as a means of conquering via division ("divide and conquer").

5. Four of our Panj Piare were from so-called low caste backgrounds in the eyes of Hindu's, Muslims and Christians (who also have segregated caste Churches) as diverse afield as one of the Panj Piare being from Gujarat, one with Dravidian background from South India, one from Orissa in eastern India given that four of our Panj Piare were non-Punjabi.

On top of that until we immediately reform in order to create single United Sangat Gudrwara's in every single village in Punjab and every town in the West we can expect the trend to continue with matrimonial level apartheid flourishing 316years after Guru Sahib ushered in the Khalsa Panth with the emphasis upon kul nash (obliteration of former identity layers).

United we Stand and Divided we fall in the face of drugs, alcohol, illiteracy, biraderi, ill health and infanticide facing us.

VJKK VJKF

Giani Ditt did an excellent job with little resources to raise the voice of the Sikhs. The British supported Arya Samaj and Sanatan groups had to retreat after this. After facing the bullets of the British and their Mahant allies the Gurdwaras were freed again. The Khalsa schools that were set up by the Gurdawara reform and original Akali movement educated thousands of Sikhs in our religion. Since 1947 these have been in decline as the corruption of the the Indian system has taken over most Sikh orgainisations.

    • lol dal panth Panj told me explicitly not to associate with Vadhbhag Singh Sodhi followers!
    • We have lamp (or Jyot) the pure unscented candle for a reason. Traditionally, Patis used candle light (jyot), so they could read SGGS in darkness. Light, elec didn't exist. Dhoop is used to attract the "Good spirits" but also keep freshness where Maharaj will be.  Interestingly and coincidentally I heard Sakhi a few dsys ago. During Dasa Pitha's time these souls were roaming the Earth and even Sangat noticed. Maharaj asked them "y u here?" They replied during recitation of SGGS and making Degh they didn't bother lighting candle. THAT WAS THEE ONLY REASON NO GATI WAS GIVEN TO THEM!!!  AUTHENTICITY NOT CHECKED I heard once on YT like 2 days ago.  If u apply dhoop in one room of your house twice a week u will notice a difference esp in the smell and freshness of that room.
    • Sangat ji, With the hot weather as per Guru's Hukm, how can we look after our kes?  First of all the beard! Working in Construction, factory and any other heated environment I UNDERSTAND! At my workplace it's over 32 degree celcius and sometimes we have to lift 20kg ALL! DAY! My tips, regularly shampoo the beard during ishnan. APPLY OIL! The technique of applying oil is by rubbing it thoroughly in the roots. Pay attention to the noise esp on the chin. You will hear this "crosh crosh" noise. Keep rubbing oil until u can't hear it no more! This means the oil has blended in properly.  Second tip on beard, keep an extra kanga in your pocket. Every two, three hours give your beard a proper comb down to get rid of any sweat or stickiness. SECOND BENEFIT! Do this all 12 months every single day your beard will look like it's been professionally groomed. TRY IT! People will ask you "What gel u use? How can yer beard be naturally like that?" You can say all I use is coconut oil or whaeva oil but just comb the beard every 2-3 hours for a minute.  As for the kes, morning time get rid of all the gronjra (or knots - forgotten English word), in the morning. However, during evening comb down make sure you get rid of small remaining gronjra and comb yer hair nice and straight. You will feel soooo so relaxed. Yes our hair will go unnoticed due to Dastar, but our hair demands time and self grooming! So proper combing down, spending a good 15-20 mins most evenings is an absolute MUST!  Most evenings I let my hair down and cover hair with my parna for 2-3 hours so it gets to relax from the tying up.  FINAL TIP! We are Sikhs so we keep fighting and remember this! The tradition of Dastar and uncut hair started in India, where the weather is twice as hot. Everytime we bring this thought in the mind, Guru ji will bless us and make us feel cooled down by a notch.  Fateh.
    • Been so much nindya and attacking Shastarvidiya since the 2000s, however if we look at gatka now it's still mostly as poor and poorly taught as it was back then, still morris dancing moves and still behzti moves in BBC shows about sikhi and vaisakhi. If people were going to attack shastarvidiya, wouldn't have made sense to improve gatka instead and make it more effective? Additionally, the Nihang Singh presence has improved greatly now, and the cracks within the the SGPC and affiliated jatha jathebandis are showing more greatly as panth becomes more knowledgable with dasam bani and itihas day-by-day, so much gyaan which was lost within panjabi sikhs during colonial times. In the 2000s, the groups were able to talk down this bani and  gyaan by associating it with  RSS and hindus, brahminwaad etc. Not working so well now is it? However with gyaan it would be also good for us to try and preserve our martial arts and keertan vidiya as well! More and more crazy keertan videos are coming out from jatha members that are being made fun of and making sangat annoyed and upset, on tiktok and instagram reels.

Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM.   The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh   What in the world? What sikh or even a decent human would base their knowledge of their culture or religion on a movie industry, that too Bollywood?  Believe me, no sikh ever said, I must cover my head becasue an actor did so in a movie. I've been doing it all wrong, I must start covering mh head because the sikh in that movie did.  Just because every panjabi and sardaar you know, does something, also doesn't make it right..  Follow the guru. And if you have a medical condition, then exemptions can be made.  Just admit it, because of my medical condition, I am not able to follow this rehit. Why are you getting everyone else to drop to your level?
