so what do we do???? Cos soon enough there wont be many sikhs left at this rate

I'm sorry to say I don't know, nothing presents itself to me except a smear campaign against the elderly, which would never actually get off the ground. I suppose we can each try to convince the Sikhs whom we know personally that our elders are largely irrelvant. I've brought a couple of people over to this line of thinking.

Why blame the media ?

Just like they did in Southall the above article makes it clear that the journalists went through proper channels and consulted a leading local Sikh to fill them in on the situation. Just like what happened in Southall we discover that our 'learned elderly Amritdhari respected Sikh leaders' are nothing short of a hot steaming pile of tutti.

So, lets not blame the jounalists here. Lets look closely at what kind of man Dr Mohinder Singh is and what exactly does the massive Gurdwara on Soho Road actually stand for.

Then you have sub-questions such as why he is so in favour of mixed marriages in the Gurdwaras. Who are his children married to etc ?

So, to recap: The journalists keep behaving responsibly and consulting our elderly Sikh leaders for guidance. Our 'Sikh leaders' keep selling us out. But instead of bringing these Sikh institutions to book we blame the journalists. Thus, given our stupidity, we are getting the kind of press we deserve.

Check this out jagsaw, it seems the sikh PA, informed the newspaper/journalist of who to speak to, to get an all rounded review of this sham marriage fiasco, but it appears the journo, deliberatly chose not to speak to people who would speak the truth. Ive got this from the sikh PA twitter account.

How could Baba mohinder singh have such an anti Gurmat stance is sad to say the least. He has taken his inter faith philosophy to the extreme to the expense of his Sikhi.

I'm trying to find info that Jagsaw alluded to regarding this individual's offspring. You seem to be clued up on the ins and outs of these types of Sikh personalities in the UK, Jonny Ji, any news on this holy man?

My observation regarding this guy is that he is quite educated.

This makes me wonder when we question the fitness of unpadh pendu s in governing our gurdwaras and all matters Sikhi, we do not question the fitness of someone conventionally educated as it seems they can be just as clueless.

This Mohinder person seems to want to compromise rather than stick to the principles. If he can compromise on one principles, what else could he compromise on? It seems to be moral cowardness on his part.

I checked out his profile on Wikipedia, and he seems to be a keen advocate for a fair bit of interfaith malarkey. Nothing wrong with that, of course, as long as it's understood that Sikh aims and interests are not relegated to afterthoughts in the pursuit of pleasing others and chasing plaudits for being such an upstanding member of society.

This Mr Mohinder Singh Alhuwalia (he uses the title 'Dr' not because he's actually done a doctorate but because a couple of universities have given him an honourary doctorate in recognition for his 'inter-faith' work). As far as I'm concerned then, he's nothing more than a 'Mr'.

This man basically earns his vast money by treating vulnerable elderly people like dirt. He is the owner of the following elderly care / nursing homes in the Birmingham area:

  • Bartholomew Lodge Nursing Home
  • Bearwood Nursing Home
  • Richmond Court Nursing Home
  • Woodcross Lodge Nursing Home

In each of his elderly care homes, the care quality commission found that the standard of care, safety and dignity afforded to the vulnerable residents was unsatisfactory.

He also owns the Marg Sat Santokh (MSS) Building suppliers in Birmingham.

He also owns Global Land Sales Ltd.

He is also the Director of Sangat TV. Which is why you won't find Sangat TV saying anything negative about him.

He is also the head of the Nishkam Sevak Jatha Gurdwara on Soho Road in Birmingham. Looking at the names of the other board members it is clear they have a policy of 'Ramgharias Only'. Every last one of them.

But most of all, he is a hot steaming pile of tutti.

    • If relationship with Guru is strong, then kanga is done twice a day, and turban should never be taken off or put on like a hat, there is a lot wrong with that as it is against rehit! maryada is to take off every layer of turban/pagh/dumalla individually, and tie fresh turban each time!
    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
