Sikhs are the only so called indian's or people from indian subcontinent that don't put up with crap and are willing to fight like lions thanks to our guru's teachings to take no crap from non-sikh offenders/aggressors.

Constantly walking on egg shell days are over its smack down lay the sikh law down time.

I only wish. I think some of our people's self-image is so detached from ground level realities these days it seems insane.

But we'll work towards it.

That's very perceptive of you. It's this attitude that has given Indians the docile, cowardly, sycophantic reputation they have. Our Gurus went overboard to try and knock this out of SIkhs but you still see this characteristic amongst apnay - even Amritdharis - who are meant to be warriors. It's like we are slowly defaulting to our Hindu ancestry, but under the external roop of Sikhi. And Guru ji even clearly warned us about this by putting a tiger skin on a khota.

This.

The point of all that shastar talk and the bloody fights (some with the Mughals some with demons) is to build up the courage to get up off your sofa (or manja) and fight.

You got to respect kalaay. Look at how they reacted when one of theirs from E.London got shot under dubious circumstances by the polis. They rapidly set up nationwide riots that had the majority of goray shyting bricks, and made the soors think twice about trying something like that again

Power is not holding a gun to every person in the country. Power is based on making everyone in the country consider the consequences of their actions. This is how police forces enforce the law. They do not have one policeman per civilian following him around.

This shows right here what this poster is about.  This guy wants to encourage Sikhs to loot, set on fire shops and homes of innocent people.  There is no honor in what the black people did in 2011.  In fact this is a coward act.  The sikh Gurus and Gursikhs never attacked or encouraged the attack of innocent people. Yet this week little boy has respect for black people who did exactly this.  Again folks this guy is no friend to the Sikhs.  I wouldn't be surprised if this guy is some sort of government agent trying to influence Sikhs to commit violence and then get them arrested.

@dallysingh101 is a fake.  Be careful having any private conversation with this guy.  Hes most likely reporting Singhs to the government.   This guy has been on Sikh forums for couple of decades.  He provokes members to be violent and verbally abusive.   This guy is not panthic.  He uses panthic platforms to get Singhs arrested.  This guy is a rat.  Any team member of juggy johal must stay away from this government agent.

No one is encouraging Sikhs to be pointlessly violent.

But some clued up Sikhs aren't oblivious to the fact that Sikhs may unfortunately end up in the middle of some other communities extremists attacks. Or that young Sikh females get targeted for grooming and abuse because of the inaction of cowards like yourself.

I don't know where you live, or if you're one of those closeted types. I'm not the only one to think this is the (sad) reality of life today in some of the diaspora.

If I've been on forums over the years it's because I am SIkh and am interested in SIkh things. That includes actually studying and translating texts. I've shared the fruits of this endeavour for all to see, evaluate and critique. In the meanwhile you yourself have not contributed anything apart from a cry-baby persona that whines and whines constantly.

The street level blacks should neither be respected nor emulated. They are not an example, regardless of the unintentional knock-on affects they may inspire in the ruling establishment. It's a Pandora's Box that must remain closed. Of all the groups to ally with, I would never consider inner-city blacks to be one to consider. Saying that, aspirational, God-fearing blacks  are wonderful people, lol. Honestly, most of them are incredibly grounded and chilled, promoting strong family and strong ethical and moral conduct.

Those street level guys are often the children or grandchildren of the God-fearing people you mention. No one is talking about making allies here. But the reality is that if your worse case scenario comes to be, those guys (whether we like it or not) will be a potent force at ground level, with the potential to cause havoc and even swing things if mass open racism (and the inevitable attacks that accompany this) returns. All of you younguns have never had any real experience of this scenario. Now whether those 'street' guys current position is a result of their own misdoings, or the result of a sustained marginalisation of that community by the majority is anyone's guess. You could argue both ways. But one thing no honest Sikh can deny is that their historical experiences with Europeans (with slavery) is as bad as those our people experienced with the fundamentalists of the past. We just come out on top because of our divine leadership and the strategies and cultural norms they inculcated in our ancestors.

If things do go pear shaped (which is by no means guaranteed), you'd want to have some sort of basic truce/understanding between our communities. Otherwise I guarantee you'll only get more weak-willed, nerd-like apnay crying about being bullied by kalaay. As people have pointed out - for all their faults, the legacy of slavery seems to have stayed with some sections of that community and they are determined not to be blatant victims like that again. They've even developed a strong aversion/contempt for perceived male weakness (or so it seems to me?) We might not like how this acts out, but it is a logical/rational reaction given the historical and even current social factors. My feeling are that they are determined not to go the US route, where they were (and some people say still are) being basically killed in violent encounters with the police in droves. We've got enough people who work against us as it is - we don't need to add another group, that is almost guaranteed to react if they feel overtly under attack in this country.

And it isn't a matter of respect or emulation, Singh you should know now that it's actually part of this marg to study and understand ground level politics and movements. Acknowledging the effects of their actions and tactics is a smart thing (and this goes the same for the tactics/actions of other communities too). It's just an observation of a seemingly downtrodden community and their reaction to the perceived actions of the powers that be - essentially a study of a particular type of raj-niti and it's effect.

As an aside. I think it is really interesting to note how Bhai Vir Singh edited out so many explicit references to Singhs looting and rioting from the original Panth Prakash by Bhangu (amongst other things). This isn't to suggest that these things should be done today, but you guys know how I like to discuss the interesting and even controversial (by today's standards) content of our wonderful literary heritage, especially in relation to contemporary events. More so when they appear to have been hidden from us.

Is there a single place where the "original" text can be seen?

    • Found how to do it. For anybody else wondering, heres how. No one even helped me btw. So much for Guru Ji’s lhalsa always ready to help (and having their Singhs’ backs smh). (Notes: Aim to do this on a hot summer’s day, and dedicate a full day to this, since you only have to do this once every 4 months at least (normally the turban will stay in shape until you wish to untie it and physically pull it open again). This helps it to dry faster, since you have to starch it, HALF DRY IT, pooni it, tie it and then wear it for around four hours for the rest of it to dry, all in the same day. It’s a one day process but it serves you for months). This works for both the UK/Kenyan style (starch is best for this style) as well as the normal Punjabi paghs (such as Patiala shahi, wattan wali and morni paghs). Not sure about dumallas though. Probably not . Pagg Starch: 1) Boil 6 cups of water in a saucepan on low heat (always low heat) 2) Seperately dissolve 4 tablespoons of maida (all purpose flower) with a little water until it is 100% smooth.  You could also use rice or corn starch. Add more water if it is not a smooth liquid 3) Once completely smooth, pour this mixture through a strainer (to make it even smoother) into the boiling water. 4) Now continuously stir it until it goes completely see through. Keep on stirring it on the low heat until it goes totally transparent (it can take a little while to cook, but the pagg will last you for months!) It will at become a thick paste first, but keep stirring until it becomes see through and thinner.    5) Once it’s transparent, pour the starch (again through a strainer) into a big enough, clean bucket to cool down. 6) Once cool, take a clean, dry turban and completely and mix it in with the starch for around 5 minutes. Make sure that it is all evenly and completely soaked and wet with the starch. (Most people use mal-mal material, but I use full voile and I have used Rubia too. They’re all fine. Maybe use Rubin for smaller turbans and mal mal for larger ones) 7) Leave it out in the sun to HALF DRY ONLY!!!!!!! (Don’t ever let your starched turban fully dry before you tie it. If you do, then you will have to spray/ sprinkle water on it which will weaken the starch and ruin the turban) ONLY HALF DRY THE TURBAN IN THE SUN!!! 😎 Once HALF DRY ONLY take the now semi damp turban, and fold/pooni and then tie it like normal (straight on your head, with no base layer such as a Keski or patka underneath). Leave it on your head for around 4 hours just to fully dry and it will be ready and set for months now. Like I said, do try to tie your dastar every day, but if you can’t or really don’t want to, I hope this helps! Like I said this works on both the traditional Punjabi/Indian style paggs, and the more recent UK/Kenyan style paggs. It does for my morni pagg, but the first larr slips up in to the pagg. This is normal dw. Wjkk, Wjkf
    • I guess easier ways of learning have taken precedence. There are so many Youtube channels and podcasts available that people are more ready to listen for knowledge at their own leisure. There are so many great kathas available online that take months to listen, so that people may not really get the time to come here and write.
    • *Bump The current conflict (w/ Iran getting involved) is being orchestrated by a 3rd party in my opinion. We all are going to blame the Jewish community (how they run the banks, how they are brutal and etc.) but they have a point in this conflict.  As soon as people start finding about the truth that's when the real movement will begin.

    • Might delay Sikhs becoming a minority in Punjab for a few more years.  Do these students actually study and work in a related field after their course or is it purely for immigration?
