Does anyone know from historical written sources, if it is specified whether Singhs were allowed to keep their head covered when persecuted by the Mughals, during torture/execution? Was it just on a case by case basis? For Guru Arjan Dev Ji, it seems head was allowed to be kept covered with Dastaar. most of the photos I’ve seen Banda Singh Bahadur with head uncovered @dallysingh101 ?

How racist are white people in the UK? How do Sikhs deal with it and is it on the rise. I know many in the uk have experienced racism. Especially in the work enviroment. Where bosses and managers openly discriminate against us brownies. How can we combat this. I know we are not treated as bad as muslims. But Racists hate anyone of colour regardless. I feel the whites wish all us brownies left this country. Many do not openly say it but this is how they feel. They think their country has been taken over by us. They definantly do not like the fact that we have succeeded in this country and wish it was like the past. When whites would give brownies beat…

I think we have all come across this quote from Guru Nanak Ji. " If your a Hindu be a good Hindu. if your a Muslim be a good Muslim". But what is the true meaning of this quote? I've heard some say that this means Guru Nanak is saying all religions are good and lead to the same one God for all. Hence there is no need to convert to any religion . Just stay in your own one. But I have also heard alternative meanings for the quote. Some say it means Guru Ji is only saying be the best Hindu and Muslim you can be. Ie. follow your own religion correctly and not the first meaning I gave. So which is it?

I saw a guy in a supermarket the other day, I could make out he was wearing a kirpan so more than likely he is Amritdhari. In his trolley he had bottles of Cobra Zero. I was wondering is this ok? I am assuming it was for him as people who like alcohol would not buy anything that has zero nasha.

You make a great point. Nobody is going to mess with an economic giant consisting of over 1 billion people because some random, uneducated pendus who have no money, no organization and no power. Sikhs are very clueless. Just browsing SikhSangat is extremely depressing. I think there was a thread a long time ago where people were speculating on the worldwide Sikh population, and everyone was just pulling random crazy numbers out of their @sses (like over 100 million).
