London, United Kingdom (July 24, 2014): The Sikh Federation (UK) notes with concern recent developments following the formation of the Haryana Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC). Bhai Amrik Singh, the Chair of the Sikh Federation (UK) said: ‘We appeal to the Sikh masses to remain vigilant of politicians on all sides that will go to any length and use the situation to their own personal advantage.’ ‘Parkash Singh Badal knows Sikh voters in Punjab in very large numbers rejected him and Congress in the recent Lok Sabha elections. https://www.thenews.com.pk/amp/483612-sikh-tycoon-announces-500-million-fund-for-pakistan-gurdwaras? How come Sikh tycoons can find 500 million to fund Gurudwarae but cannot find funds to help the poor in Punjab or help the Shaheedi families or help with parchaar. We don't have a money problem in our community it seems, we just allocate those resources in an extremely inefficient manner.

Hi, There is an e-petition wrt "Urge the British Army to press ahead with plans to form a British Sikh Regiment". The motion reads: "Defence chiefs have abandoned plans to raise a regiment of British Sikhs amid advice from the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) that the move would be branded racist. We the undersigned believe that such a more is not 'racist' and urge the Prime Minister to get the British Army to disregard the advice from the CRE and press ahead with plans to form the unit. The Sikh community is whole-heartedly in favour of such a creation and this would help the UK armed forces meet it's recruitment quota and also increase the diversity of the armed…

Hi people, Why is it that you always hear of Muslims beating on the Sikhs but almost never hear of the Sikhs actually fighting back? I think this is a slap in the face of Sikh ancestors, in Canada+U.S. they have more Muslims then the UK does and the Sikhs here have practically never faced an attack, or if they have, someone's been shot/knifed/batted down because they shouldn't of messed with the Sikhs in the first place =\

I was blessed with a baby son a couple of weeks ago and gave him a nice desi name, it's also the name of a historical Sikh figure. My wife has been going to midwife appointments and she has seen the majority of apne our age (30s) have given their kids western names like Cameron, Jayden, Jordan, Kieran, Sienna, Tiana, Harvey, Cara, Kai, Keira, Emelia, Antonio. My former next door neighbours and my current neighbours have also done this and they both have khande logos on their cars. It's pathetic! Talk about being confused! What is the logic? I understand that the apne who grew up in the 60s and 70s had English nicknames as the goreh couldn't pronounce them but i…
