Were the events of 1984 in any way benefiticical for the Sikh community??? I think that partially the answer is yes since it raised awareness of the SIkh community and many Sikhs across the globe starting keeping their hair and i know that due to the events of 84 thats why the children of my family kept their hair and without that particular event i doubt i would have kept my hair?? I also remember my RE teacher saying that after the events of 1984 many people started to keep their kesh.

I think we should send our children for year to be educated in Punjab, so they understand Sikhi culture, grow a bond with their homeland, learn to read/write Gurmukhi. I have noticed a few of these parchar on YouTube spent a lot of years back home. Jagraj Singh from basics of Sikhi and Satpal Singh both are two that come to mind. I know Muslims used to do this back in the day, dont know about now. Seen a few posts about the youth of today, and this popped in my head.

Why is Buddhism gaining so much traction in the West. From many buddhist I heard that Western Buddhism is no where close to real buddhism. I met many ppl, even ppl from India. Who say “The future is the future of No religion & Buddhism is the only religion I adhere too.” This trend is increasing amongst westerners, plus immigrants who came from India. I also hear “dil saaf hona chahida, baki nu ki karna.” Opinions & Thoughts?
