I came across a video on youtube while i was searching Baba thakur singh bhindranwale. A amritdhari sikh takes off his kirpan half way through the video. I was suprised this singh had did this. I support him with what he is doing and i think everybody should but it was a real big suprise What are your thoughts on this ??? And are we allowed to remove our kirpans?? So am just questioning things as I am a women trying to come into Sikhi. I don't usually question the Gurus hukam but why do we actually wear the Kachera? I know the typical answer is to control sexual desires and what not. To symbolise death, for practicality and that it should never leave our body completely and the whole one leg in and out e.t.c But I still question it why, my brother said i should stop questioning it and just accept it. But I just need an answer to be fair.

why is it that alot of MOD EDIT - young Sikhs go around acting like gangster sikhs? baba jarnail singh bhindrawale is like god for most of them, and they can't get over fantasizing about ak-47s and jagowale rap tracks, but have no jeevan at all its just so frustrating to see that some youth are heading into that direction.

My parent n family members being a sikh opposed me to become baptized... just because its hard to find Amritdhari boy... but still as i luv my religion and my Gurus i became Amritdhari.... I want to know is this true? I have seen the attitude of Sikh boys also... after i became baptized, i came to know.. even normal Sikh boys don't prefer being amritdhari and Amritdhari girls... Can an amritdhari girl wed a non amritdhari guy in anand karaj? The guys kesdhari, just hasnt decided to take amrit yet, wants to progress with rehat before committing to amrit. Both the girl and guy and their families are happy with it. Any potential issues?

Friends, I have a singh friend who would like to be wedding to a singh. What is Sikhisms saying about this? I know there are very knowledgable individual out in this forum and only these knowledgeable peoples should reply. The title says it all really. I cant stop wearing it, because my hair started falling out when I was younger from it being tied tight....and have ugly bumps on my scalp from the hair being twisted. I have had numerous discussions with my parents asking why they didnt let me cut my hair when I was younger, but they are ignorant about life and the negative effect it has on my life. I see girls going off with clean shaven guys all the time. Im an intelligent and honest guy but my turban and beard alienates me. Added to that Im not religious so feel fake, I have no option but to keep wearing a turban. It has killed me everyday looking in the mirror and seeing such hair loss…

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki fateh I'm planning to buy a vaaja from the internet (no other options available at the moment and i really need to get one badly). Can you recommend any sites where i could get quality harmoniums that wouldn't be too expensive? I'm only a beginner, so it doesn't need to be anything very fancy, a portable one would be preferred though. And it should be either from UK/Europe or India. I enjoy going to the Gurdwara alot and love to sit there for @ least an hour and find peace, however for the past couple of days I'm not really being able to pay attention 2 my meditation @ the Gurdwara because ther is this new Gyani, he's been in the Gurdwara for a couple of months now, quite young, and I dont like the way he acts, I'm finding it uncomfortable now. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
