  2. Here is a question that arose in my mind the other day. In your life say you come at a crossroads, the road to your left gets you one job and the road to the right gets you another job. Now say AkaalPurkh have already mapped out your route to the right hand road, the people that you will meet in your new job all have a link with you through mutual Karam, and through the job you will meet other people which is all tied in with your karam. The karam will effect hundreds of lives and you have to work through the karam with these people, all part of the karm mapped out by AkaalPurkh. Now here is the thing, if you do ardaas with all your heart and really really want the job that is on the right hand path and you get that job, you will think that AkaalPurkh has listened to your ardaas and you got your job, but, you were destined to get that job anyways, so did the ardaas have any effect, as you were going down that route anyway as your karam with all those people was already mapped out . If on the other hand you do adraas with all your heart for the job on the left hand path and you do not get the job, because you were never destined to get it because all your karm and links with all those people are with the job on the right hand path, then you will say what most people say “Oh well, tayra bhana meetha lagay” this is God’s will. Now AkaalPurkh can of course change your path from right to left if He so desires but then all the karm you were to work through on the right hand path will remain unworked but you will encounter people on the left hand path that you were never intended to meet and all that would affect hundreds of lives not only on the right hand path but now also on the left hand path. So the question arises does adraas have any effect, because you will never know. If it goes your way maybe it was going to go that way anyway and if it does not then you just shrug your shoulders and move on but it was never going to go that way anyway.

  3. The title is possibly a little misleading, I'm not advertising an ebay auction (if the mods and sangat dont mind i may do shortly). Just wanted an opinion from veer n pehn ji's. I have a relative in punjab in who is a pretty brilliant artist (in my view), he sells some of his sikhi related artwork in the local town for pittance and this is generally his way of feeding the family. I was thinking of listing some of oil paintings and sketches on ebay as I'm sure if there are plenty of people like me out there that would like high quality work such his for very reasonable prices - at the same time he'll make a more comfortable living. Before I go ahead and list some of his images on ebay I wanted to know if I'm likely to face any kind of a backlash or if theres even a market for artwork? His artwork is generally of gurdware or modified reproductions of the images of guru's in the mainstream.

  4. Vaheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Ji Ki Fateh Keeping in line with the rules of the forum. We are re-posting this message and keeping personal identities as gupt as possible but at the same time trying to reach to sangat who may have been effected or involved with a certain amritdhari couple who are based in the midlands around the Sandwell and Dudley area involved in anti-gurmat practises. An investigation is being launched and we aim to provide a gupt service for individuals affected. Were you told by the bibi that she was Mata Bhag Kaur re-incarnated? Were you told that your soul was a famous gursikh from sikh history (Baba Deep Singh, Bhai Kanaiya Ji) in a past life? Your soul has come from a jatha/misl from either Guru Gobind Singh or Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s time? Did the bibi say anything about her dasam duar being open and how she can read thoughts, minds, see into the future, past and present? How people in your family are trying harming you/ are jealous of you? Someone you know is doing black magic? There are spirits in your house? If any of the above applies to you then please get in touch via the following email address. guptsevasach@gmail.com Vaheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Ji Ki Fateh P.S. Moderators, if this topic becomes a playground for personal attacks, name/shame etc, please delete all irrelevant replies and lock thread and make sticky if possible.

  7. regarding high birth rates n missionary i agree with you. during the british rule over panjab, particularly 1900' onwards, sikhs had the highest birth rates n highest number of converts too, so if we could get back to that, it wud b gud init. i can PM u the website showin these figures of rise, and other very fascinating stuff from a guy 'gopal kirshan' bowt the demographics of panjab (1849-1947).

  9. But to be truthful, it wasnt that hard to do was it? USA were so absorbed in getting the Pakis on side that they overlooked the unbreakable bond between the different nations, thier religion. I mean, neutralising their budget defecit, paying off all their loans to the IMF, (controlled by Jews) totalling something in the region of £70 billion. They knew from past experince from the Russian affair, that arabs and afghans break and make allegiances at the drop of a grenade. I think its not that they didnt learn the lesson, i think they WANTED to beleive that the Pakis were on side.

  10. Facebook its just an small element in bigger maya jhandal. Gurmukh is maya vich udasi. Gurbani- bhai gurdas ji explains the nature of maya vich udhasi by giving example of- raja janak. He was raja and had raniyas (consort wives), he was raja, jogi, bhogi yet he was also nirlaip gurmukh(without any attachment). Gurmukh nature should be like that - if hakum comes- within one blink of eye- tyaag everything, everyone surrounding you. It comes with practice, i can personally give my experience-i admit, that i m attached with my mobile phone, at times when i am waking from sleep- i do think about death, that very moment, its golden moment of truth- same mobile and everyone surrounding you(family) that i m attached to seems like maya trap (dandal/deep ditch) and that very moment - my atma strives move upwards (away from maya trap) with naam simran...reminds of that scene of keenu reaves in Constantine where his astral body escapes from maya. Hopefully, one day my time will come too along with others to free from this prison.

  14. How are Jews greedy? just because they stand up for their kind and not take the crap that they were forced to take for centuries? Can you provide a quote from the Jewish scripture which says that Jews beleive they will be more closer to God if they accumulate wealth. And no they are not weak, they have been kicking the entire middle eastern armies in all the wars they have had with the Muslims based on their fighting ability not cunningness. You need to get your head out of Christian and Islamic extremist propaganda and see the things for what they are. As for greed and being cunning, the most greedy and cunning people I have personally seen are our own people. I have seen how apnay kill and do fraud with their own brothers over Jameen/farm land. I have seen now apnay take tens of Lakhs of rupees from a girl's family during marriage without any guilt. I have seen apnay killing their baby daughter because they don't want to spend money on dowry during the future of their daughter's marriage. I have seen apnay pulling apnay down just to see themselves succeed. Where to even begin with the legendary greediness of apnay?

I make my hair into a fan, and wave it over them; I apply the dust of their feet to my face. ||1||Pause|| i was drying my hair after kesi ishnaan and i felt like doing chour with my hair and at same time this shabad came into my mind " kesa ka kar chavar dhulawa" and I was thinking this is not possible if you want to do it for guru sahib in gurdwara sahib because you r supposed to cover your head. But guru sahib is hazar nazar and I did chavar with my hair devoting it to guru sahib. I am not saying about myself but if your shardha is so strong and you do things like these like kesa da chaur karna and bowing while jap sahib is not wrong at all. It might appear a ritual to those who do not feel the essense and are just running with the crowd. call it ritual or whatever but if mind ( Mann) is there in the devotion then any ritual can bring you fruit.

  16. One thing that needs to stop on this forum is the finger pointing. We all don't follow Satguru completely and are full of mistakes. The second we forget Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj is a huge mistake we make, but none of us notice this mistake. If everyone remembered Satguru day and night then everyone would be Amritdhari and we would all follow Rehat. If someone does not want to accept Satguru's Hukam, then help them realize to accept it and if they don't want to be helped, then let them be. We are all are lacking in following Satguru's instructions in one way or another. The thread was started to knock down people that cut hair. Just few days ago a person was knocking down Amritdharis. There are people on both sides that beat their chest to say i am the highest but both deny Satguru's Hukam. Did such people ever stop to think, how is one person Amritdhari and the other is with cut hair? What did any of them do to be where they are? Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj plays this game and he can make the Amritdhari low (cut his hair) in a second and the person with cut hair into an Amritdhari (make him high) In my opinion Admins need to close this thread.

  18. Show me where in the shri Guru granth sahib it says one must keep hair to merge with God... I agree amritdhari sikhs must keep hair but our Guru wrote the sggs for everyone not just for sikhs. Even muslims, hindus etc can read sggs and merge with God. Hair is not required for them. However if one takes amrit from punj piarea then they must keep hair. Our religion is universal.. We are not christians who say that if you don't believe in jesus as your saviour you will go to hell..we are not muslims who say only their way is the right way. Otherwise it becomes a battle of the egos. My God is pure unconditional love and he does not hate people with cut hair. I am not a sikh by choice 'he' has made me. You can't say all people who have cut hair go to clubs, drink etc. I know amazing people who cut their hair and are so wise and full of love. I see no difference between amritdhari sikhs, sikhs who cut their hair, muslims, hindus, jews etc. Remember if one wants to attain rom rom simran then he must see God in all. Not just in amritdhari sikhs. The funny thing is that you have not noticed that God is everyone.. there is only him. The superimposition of the nirgun to sargun as we call it atma. God is everything and everyone - he is the murder, rapist, a saint etc. He is also everything. So technically you never merge with him but you realise through gyan that you are him. Hair is not required..We only give God anthropomorphic qualities so we can understand him. Saints or people who say without hair you can't meet God are saying that so you can stay solid in the sikh religion and keep your hair and faith. If they only believe by keeping hair one realises God then they are NOT a saint.

  19. The Jews may be powerful when we measure material wealth and political clout but how close are they to realising god. They've been through an horrible ordeal but how much humanity do they show to towards their neighbours in Palestine. From being the prey they have become the predators illegally occupying Palestinian lands. Why should we aspire to be like Jews! I doubt if Sikhs during 16th century were aspiring to be like Mughals. We should aspire to be like our forefathers and we should create our own destiny not look for blue prints set out by communities who have nothing in common with us regarding ideology or morals.

  20. Yes, I forgot about the groups who follow Kabbalah, etc. EDIT: Actually even Kabbalah isn't a sect by itself. Jewish sects are grouped almost like branches of philosophy according to the aims and beliefs of that particular Jewish sect, i.e. Reform, Humanist, Conservative, and so on. "Kabbalah sect" - lol at me.

  21. Jews are together they work together, when we get together we start fighting after the hollocaust no one could do anything. Sikhs have taken vengence for things people sikhs shot loads of members of the congress party something the jews couldn't dream of doing to the nazi, the nazi got away with most of it. The jews zionist movement lead them to control the media so jews have the say in bbc news and sky news- sikhs have no role in the news media and in many times are victims of several forms from the news media. You will find rarely any sikh media figures in the news media doing a good job of reporting the real news guess they wouldn't hire them, otherwise we can publish 1984 properly. We have silly flops who are far from sikhi like sonia deol and bbc asian network djs who don't represent sikhi or the sikhs. You can find them turning their back on the real events of 1947 and 1984 we take favour of those we commited crimes against sikhs, they allow sikhs to be mixed with the taliban. Even after the sikh riots people who defended southall, the area, mosques and gurdwara sky news called the singh sabha gurdwara a mosque and still no appology for the ignorance from sky news, instead some reports were against sikhs saying they were vigillantes some on the extent saying they want to make more trouble. In 1984 no sikh could report that bhindranwale was not a terrorist or report a voice of reason for indira gandhi assinations. No sikh could represent sikhs in the partition of India. We don't have sikh footballers or media personalities like jews have. But jews are very passive were sikhs can fight at times. Jews are a smaller population then Sikhs, sikhs fight more with each other then support each other for a mp, representation or young reporters.

  24. I was in same situation as you are. if you really want to become Gurskih but don't have courage to do it , then best way is to sewa at Gurudwara sahib and stay as clsoe as to some mahapurush. Its not easy and you can't do it alone. Everyone was saying to me to become Gurskih but i didn't wanted to. But i stayed close to some mahapaurush and whenevr i get sometime i do thier sewa and in gruudwara sahib. They really liked me and i don't how it hapened and my mind got chnaged. I am frankly telling you i didn't wanted to become Gurskih and its all guru shaib kirpa and mahapurush Ardass that i am Gurskih today. Try to do as much sewa as possible and every thing will happen automatically , you don't even need to think how this will happen

  28. West london singh could you explain why sikh girls get converted if uk sikh girls are confident and sleeping around Gamersingh it is the village punjabi mentality Not all sikhs follow the punjabi mentallity So I'm not labelling all sikhs cause you have educated sikhs to in vancouver and un educated sikhs in toronto the punjabi immigrants in toronto and vancouver are very alike look at all the punjabi black gangster wannabe's in rexdale and brampton the only thing that keeps them from selling drugs like punjabis in vancouver is cause their scared of the blacks and tamils were as vancouver doesn't have blacks or tamils Their are sikhs in bc who are 4 generations you have sikhs in uk who have bin their for 70 years you have sikhs in uk that come from africa so not all sikhs follow the village mindset but the village mindset is why punjabis are hooked on drugs in punjab why they get into gangs and drugs in vancouver why you have wannabe's in toronto and why you have punjabi girls in vancouver being put into prostitution by punjabi boys and punjabi girls in toronto dating black drug dealers and afghans and why you have sikh girls in uk converting to islam cause their self esteem is being destroyed with boys being favored over girls

  31. Even though vaisakhi is months away. I think this is a good time to discuss what we (Canadian Sikhs) can do differently this year in Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan Floats. Its no exaggeration to say that public opinion of sikhs (let alone our cause-exposing human right abuses in India) in general in Canada is very low. Whilst, we don't need European settlers here to validate our cause, still we need some what public support from Canadian mass. I have been reading history of first nation natives people here in Canada. Their history is very similiar to us when it comes to systematic racism, systematic funneling of drugs in reserve to kill their heritage, lineage, youth, education. Ideologically speaking, their belief system is also very similar to ours. Their love towards nature (vahiguroo creation) and spirts (shaheeds) keeping things balance. First nation warriors are also fearless just like our warriors. Just like how we revered - Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale as our revolutionary leader. They also have their own revolutionary leader- Louis Reil. He was militant and led resistance movement against Canadian Gov't. He is considered folk here in Canada by all. You can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Louis_Riel I believe it would perfect idea to have huge posters of Louis Riel and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale side by side. Pictures speak thousands words, people can easily relate to pictures over thousand words of biography. While organizers agree, might as well throw picture of Che Guevara poster there. No need to throw speeches, spreading pamphlets in hope to bring awareness of sikh freedom fighters or to win public opinion. Pictures speak thousand words, putting huge posters of these revolutionary leaders side by side not only we could win some sort of public opinion but also it will show Sikhs pay respect to all the revolutionary leaders not just their own ones. I see things from eagle eye or western goggles, when i see shaheed floats as an outsider in the vaishakhi nagar kirtan. I just see - tribal issues, tribal groups, self interested group trying to shove tribal issues of their countries to throat of Canadians. We must be better than that, lets try diversifying the float little bit. We may not win public opinion of European settlers here, but surely can try to unify with first nation people(real Canadians) and their cause and cubans here. While this thread is more related to first nation Canadian natives..i believe all the native people of the globe (red indians in USA, aborginal in Australia) have same painful chapter in history of systematic racism and abuse in hands of European settlers and have fearless native warriors which have shown fearless resistance.

  33. Jonny101, You are right may not be appealing to general sikh public but if float is labeled around theme of celebrating diversity of revolutionary leaders, it just might. On another note, I must remind also on a bit related point from theological point of view, our philosophy is quite open in terms- we have accepted bhagats of other dharams in our scriptures, our guru's looked at the jevan mukht avastha of these individuals regardless of their mystic traditions in their dharam they belong to..this is no where to compare with the main topic in hand..just i m just comparing different community dynamics with uniqueness of our community based on this very fact. I mean my whole point of this post is - it won't be out of line of gurmat to hold such float showing various oppression fighting warriors, revolutionary leaders across the globe being celebrated and paid respect to based on uniqueness of our community based on guru sahib ideals.

  35. Shastar wise, to start with, we will only be selling Kirpans as in the Kakaar (Sri Sahibs). Having spoken and confirmed in writing via HM Revenue & Customs, seems there is a blanket ban on bringing knives/swords into the UK with blades exceeding 50cm (approx 20inches) so it is very unlikely we will ever sell any shastar with blades exceeding that size. We are however on the look out for and hope to also in the future offer decorative Sri Sahibs and some Pesh Kabz and other such items. And yes, we will be vigilant on the sale of Kirpans etc and who they are purchased by on the website.

  42. Bhagat Sheikh Farid used to dance in bhagati. Guru Gobind Singh gave the rehat to his Sikhs to became the kings of the world. What you will see is that there are several rehats recorded from various authors such as Bhai Desa Singh, Rehatnama Bhai Nand Lal Goya, you will find some from sau sakhis and amongst we have some fabricated rehat from Massands. Thing is these days due to this hindu allergy developed after aryan samaj and singh sabha problem. Some people think they are muslims following shariah laws. We are not the taliban, under shariah law dancing and music is forbidden, you also have to cut mostaches and beard (when the mughals caught some singhs they cut their beards). Under shariah law certain drums apart from one is forbidden. We use nagara and dholki for sukhasan, for battle. If you study how singhs actually fought the mughals, the allignement these are devoid of islamic means. Muslims employ various tactics to convert people one is by brainwashing them and confusing them, such as using sikhs against hindus or developping this allergy. Due to this hindu allergy loads of sikhs and reading gurbani wrong as well, changing bits taking bits out people like kala afgana and darshan singh want to get rid of dasam granth and portions of guru granth sahib. You also translated man and mat wrong, even in santiya you use your brain. In punjabi you have several translations for brain and mind - budhi, mat, man, so forth. You will use your mat (minds intellect), man is (minds desires), man neva, mat uchi. Manmat is using that direction of intellect towards desires, if you desire to lust for muslim women you will then follow islamic ways away from guru sahib of being gurmukh and gurmat (that intellectual minds path of the guru). We are following Guru Nanaks path did he go around telling people not to dance and sing? *Edited*

  43. Its not written in SGGSJ but i think its mentioned in Book "Se Kinehya" A Books based on life of Brahamgynai sant Harnam Singh JI Rampur Khera wale where they told that mother of sant baba Atar Singh ji was sent back on earth by Dharam Raja as she has not taken Amrit , even though She had great Bhagti and was mother of great great Brahmgyani. Then she wakew up after death before saskar then sant ji asked them why she came back and she told that dharam sent her back. Its also stated that at that time 20,000 people took Amrit. Also When Bhai nand Lal ji asked for small space in Guru Gobind Singh sahib charan then Guru Shai told him that i can't even give you space of needle becaus eyou have not taken Amrit. There are many many examples like that. If you read boooks "Se Kinehya" , you many more doubts will be cleared

  44. Jews are some of the most greediest people I have came across my life time. They believe they were "god's chosen people" and the more wealth they accumulate the more they are closer to god. Alot of them are weak and lack testerone is which probably the other reason why they are so cunning. Sikh's were protecting hindu's at the time of the mughal raj. Sikh's were lions, full of testerone and ready to fight. After years of war with the mughals we gained a mutual respect in which the mughal's left us alone and allowed us to expand our empire. Basically if your a man and not a p***y (mind the language) and have god's energy running through your vains you were left alone and respected. Hence the warrior spirit. A man's natural job is to protect and provide and you cannot be a weak in order to this. Guru Gobind Singh made us lions and we should stick to this. In my dear opnion (some of you guys might disagree) Sikhism is closely related to Rastafarnism. Peace.

  46. There are alot of things that make me cringe and get my goat, but none more so than this often used expression by Sikhs. It's "hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community", they say. And they say it with all sincerity without even realising how ridiculous it sounds. The expression started life in India......where the expression exists in a written law. We can put that down to bad and immature usage of the English language and thus forgive Sikh groups based in Punjab for often using the expression. But lately.....especially after the Jay Leno rigrormole the last couple of weeks.....I've noticed even educated western born Sikhs based in England have started using the expression. Do they not see how silly it sounds ? Do they not see how, when a target audience hears it, they don't think to themselves "oh dear....this is terrible.....the Sikhs have been unjustly wronged". No ! What they think is "are Sikhs immature children ?". You see.....in the English language and to the western mind...the term 'hurt the sentiments of' implies that the victim is a little child with very delicate and fragile sentiments. A person, or a group of people, with child-like qualities. So...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop embarrassing all of us Sikhs by using this pathetic expression. It just makes us all look silly.
