  1. Khalsa Ji The explanation that I was given for the criteria of Langar was: Scenario 1: A person consumes Guru Ka Langar without doing any sewa , without doing any Nitnem , and without making any contribution towards the Langar. Scenario 2: A person eats Guru Ka Langar and does seva , does Nitnem , and makes a contribution towards the Langar. Scenario 2 is okay but scenario 1 is harmful since Langar is made with Pooja da dhan. 10th Patshahi desribes Pooja da dhan as zher {poison}. Consumption of Pooja da dhan without due care can have detremental effects. Langar should be available 24/7 and without discrimination as per the teachings of 10th Patshahi {see the praise given to Nand Lal ji's Langar seva}. Apologies for any inaccuracies. Waheguru.

  3. Great post everyone, as discussion flows there are two types of pride- there is genuine pride and there is gajini type of false pride/ego. Guru Maharaj has said, ਗਰਬ ਗੰਜਨ ਦੁਸਟ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਇਕ ਕਾਮ || Thou art the Destroyer of ego, the vanquisher of tyrants and performer of works leading to salvation. Lets stay away from gajnini type of false pride..!!

  4. To add onto what Neo Singh said, since I interact with both Sikhs and Hindus on a continuous basis (family, friends, co-workers, etc.), I have realized that there is one major and evident difference in both communities, and I am talking about the educated lot. The fact about present day modern Hindus is that even though they are proud of themselves, at the same time the sane ones among them also go a step further and regret a past filled with caste-based oppression. Some even admit the various incidents of deceit that were committed throughout their history, and have the will to ensure that this sort of mindset doesn't carry over to the future generations. Maybe this is why the first time I found out about the caste system was not at home, but in my social studies text book in school, somewhere in the 6th grade when I was 11 years old. So you can say that they are both proud and regretful about their past, depending on what is being discussed. Sikhs, on the other hand are immensely proud of their past without a single regret, and totally remorseful about the way things are going on with a lot of worry and concern about how the future looks like. Now this is just based on my own personal observation pertaining to the kind of community circles (both Sikh and Hindu) I have frequented, and I am sorry for saying this, but I have never come across a single Hindu all my life asking the question "tusi kee hunne ah?", i.e. referring to caste. Well, maybe I did, but the occurrence might just be so rare that I just can't remember. Or maybe its because Hindu surnames already carry a caste tag, so there is never any need to ask? However, the same question, sadly and unfortunately, is one of the first questions asked when you see most (if not all) Punjabi Sikhs beginning a communication. This cancer which we attribute to Hinduism is going down in their households as a result of education. However, it doesn't stop creeping into our domains irrespective of our academic achievements. The same goes for bravery. I am confident beyond doubt that no other qaum on this planet has had the kind or level of bravery as the Khalsa. No one comes close! But an unbiased study of Indian history does show that there were other communities before 1400 AD who did indeed fight bravely, perhaps not as bravely as the Khalsa may I add, which is why they lost. So bottom line, they were there, possibly before Sikhs, but just not as good as Sikhs. These are just my own observations and opinions, they are not the final words and perhaps someone else may have had a totally different experience. Apologies if they are offensive as I didn't intend to cause it, just expressing what I have come across.

  5. Your statement holds true for past- guru's time/misal time/baba bir singh ji and baba maharaj singh naurangbad era/sant jarnail singh bhindranwal era. But unfortunately, it does not apply now. I wish it did but it does not. In modern sikh era post 1984, we have demonize and villified hindus, on one hand we demonize and villify hindus, call them cowards, make fun of them etc and not give credit where its due -they do have bravery epic tales and brave warriors and on other hand- we expect them to become sikhs? really? Don't you think its bit counter productive?, its like we going to cuss your incompetencies/ at many times unjustifed, until you become sikhs..it will definitely naturally back fire. We gotta be unbias and give credit where its due. At my work, i feel very proud and humble when hindu co workers appreciate sikh martial spirit like swami ram dev did in his video of sri guru gobind singh ji maharaj saved bharat... I too in return the favor talk in diversity- talk about hindu bravery tales at the same time talk about ours, which further harmonize the relationship. If i were to say i know i know - all hindus are cowards, go put your tilak and run back to your mandir and do pooja lingam and your only ray of hope left for hindus - be mard is to become sikhs..i will come across as very very very arrogrant..arrogance has no place in sikhi. See the thing is, it has to come natural realization for hindus to become sikhs..we must not super impose and we must ensure we don't come as arrogrant. Now coming back to sikh modern era, its no secret we are hung on singing on glory of our past sikh ancestory and history- brave tales of our sikhs guru's and great sikh warriors not apply their saint-soldier attribute in our daily life...there is nothing wrong with singing glory as it invokes devotion and inspiration but one has to also apply those attributes in daily sikh life. We are loosing martial spirit/pehalvani spirit here even though we have amazing bir ras compositions in sri dasam granth, sri sarbloh granth to invoke bhakti-shakti. More more youths needs to have a right balance in life. Bhakti(Sant) and Shakti (Sipahi) are two pillars of khalsa dharam..!!!

  6. What you said is correct Gyan Parbodh according to western standards. However, what under pins both hypersexualization and modesty is simple spiritual sikh life and raj jog when its needed. Gurmat is all about striking a right balance. Gurmat is neither this right wing sharia type machoism nor it's left wing hippy liberalism. We are not sunni muslims who promotes certain dress code for women like burqa, niqab with sharia police dictating or enforcing it (not talking about dastar here- please don't take me wrong way) but at the same time we are NOT hippy liberals feminist which promotes- revealing, skimpy or tight clothing all in the justification of "empowerment of woman" Gurmat supports empowerment of women but *not* in a form of western feminism standards. Gurmat supports empowerment of women while upholding modesty dressing or simple satoguni life and rajoguni life style when its needed to adapt according to individual circumstances in personal life and besides khalsa has royalty aspect of it which cannot be ignored. Khalsa is raj rishiya da panth..!!! Prem sumarag granth is consider one of most progressive yet puratan granth when it comes to living your life socially. Every gristhi sikh and sikhs in general should read it in its totality. It talks about how sikh should live its life socially based on circumstances and adapt to circumstances -gunas- satoguni, rajoguni, even tamoguni diet(based on circumstances-nihang living in jungles etc).

  9. I think we should stop interpreting modesty from the western feminist perspective and think of modesty from perspective of Gurmat. A sikh woman should not follow modern western fashion trends of showing off her figure. Covering of the head and body is Gurmat concept of modesty. This is the example set by the wives daughters and sisters of the Gurus and should be followed by Sikh women today.

  10. Singh Ji, one should not be afraid or shy away life's torments. Be in a place where you will laugh at death in the face. Also, humility and seva gives us the spirit to accept anything life can throw at us. Even death should be afraid of a gursikh. A mouse however is afraid of little life's torments. If one gets becomes one with akhal purakh, these so called torments are negligible and don't even twitch a hair on the body. This is why in the SGGS ji, (ibid. 555) "the world has ever been subject to death, but few know how to die while living". WJKK WJKF

  11. It is ALL wrong !! You find dozens of simultaneous akhand parts going on at the same time in many gurdwaras. This is all wrong !!!! We have turned into a complete simple ritual !!! It is just like brahmin pooja, whereby you pay the pandit to do some puja for you whether you are there or not and you don't even have to listen to it!! It is a disgrace and very upsetting when I come across this !

  12. Having other Keertan programs at the Same time as Akhand Paat is totally wrong. I have seen people turn off the Akhaand Paat mic and turn on the one for Keertan and basically the akhand paat is "turned off" for a while. The whole point of an Akhand Paat is to listen to the entire Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

  14. Sikhi does not believe in this bigoted fascism calling for blood of innocents for blood for innocent. He does not represent Islam, he is super imposing his own vengeance and his own blood thrist revenge against innocent and using islam by hiding behind Islam and try to justify it. He is trying to justify what kasab did and bombing in mumbai..!! He is no better than state sponsored terrorist congress and those hate monger bigoted promoting killing of innocent at the border line of becoming terrorist. I sincerely hope, sikhs take inspiration from our Guru Maharaj- sant and sipahi concept than this person..!! We are not barbarians. We are Khalsa. Khalsa is given highest order of chivalry, ethics, moral, humanity, dharam yudh maryada codes by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Krodh- Sheer anger invoked by raig (attachment), dvaish( animosity), intent of using unjustified force with intent of doing further collateral damage where innocent lives are lost/hurt. Sant Sipahi concept/Bir ras of Sipahi: Warrior spirit of self defense- stopping an individual to do further damage, fight against oppression but more importantly- bir ras is not on its own, its naturally born, nurtured and controlled by sant aspect of one's life- dya (compassion), sat(truthful), sabar( patience), santokh(contentment), sam/advait dristhi (non dual one vision impartial perception of humanity). Khalsa -Sant/Sipahi is not effected by krodh but bir ras whereas regular militant at the border line of being terrorist is effected by krodh, revenge, vengeance, using unjustified force to kill innocents.

  17. Does prayer/meditation/ardaas really work for fullfilemt of desires and help in helplesness..... I think it is a case by case basis. Those whose desires are not fullfiled usually loose faith on God and Bani that it actually has any power to do anything and become very bitter, eventually resorting to more practical ways of achieving there goals. I sometimes myself am not sure if Bani has anything to do with our worldly lives but everything to do with those who are yearning for self realisation. Practically speaking sometimes the ardaas is fullfiled and most times not. Which makes you question whether or not it was going to happen anyway and we are just making this ardaas a means to make money. Why is it we need to praise god to attain our desires - yes it is supposed to dilute your ego problem, I know - but whn it doesn't work you are left broken, you can only sustain so many hits in life before you start to question the existense of God and Guru and whether or not they are really out there to help you or are they just playing a game with you or do they really exist......somebody answer my questions truthfully.

Bhai Maan Singh ji used be with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji all his life and was present at 1699 khalsa panth sirjana divas and Chamkaur Jang. Bhai Maan Singh ji along with Bhai Dharam Singh ji and Bhai Daya Singh ji came behind Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji at Machiwara after leaving Chamkaur di garhi. After Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji went to SachKhand, Bhai Maan Singh ji went to Himalayas and did bhagti till the time of Sant Sundar Singh ji Bhindranwale. Sant Sundar Singh ji met them at a place which is at present in Uttarakhand and told them that they will leave the 5 elements body soon and again take birth to do seva for the panth. source : Gurmakh Prakash by Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. forward to 56 min and 40 sec. 19. Cultures that endorse modesty and cultures that endorse hypersexualization are the *same* thing. Both define female sexuality by how it relates to the male gaze. In both cases the female body exists as an ornament either to be kept carefully hidden or put on display. Neither is empowering for women.

  21. Apart from the name, what is Sikh about these actions? A lot of Hindu punjabis and so called 'Sikhs' have singh in their name, even women, doesn't have any relation to the Sikh Kom in any way whatsoever. We are determined by our actions, not by mere label. Nowhere in the gurbani does it say that you are what you are called. So these cowards cannot be referred to as Sikhs and shouldn't be. As for the masses of ignorant tha may feel and think otherwise, including how the media may portray this as a Sikh man or men raping th girl, is beyond my interest as I have long lost interest in mass media. Dare I say that woman so caled gandhi, what about all the Sikh girls that were raped during 1984 by hindus? What about all the police tha abused Sikhs daughters as they sat naked on their fathers and forced to urinate? What about all the Sikhs that were tortured whilst their wives, mothers and daughters were savaged for refusing to give up their lions? That woman and he whole of India was blind to that. I feel for the poor girl and family as much as. As i do for any person who undergoes such pain, but Find it cowardice how kuthi gandhi has suddenly spoken out just the world is watching. All for one girl whilst minsters of rss and operations blue star still walk the streets under government protection. akhal!!!!!!!

  22. Tigers are awesome theres a lot we can learn from the stalking and combat style of the tiger...pentra, jhatka.. Nihang Baba Ram Singh explained the finesse involved in 'chatka gatka' Penthra by giving a beautiful analogy, that of a tiger hunting a wild boar: 'Now, you have the tiger. It never forsakes Pentra. Even if it is in a cage, it either stays sitting or if it moves it moves in Pentra. The foremost aspect today is when today's young Gatkabaj move, they are weak in Pentra. In fact, they have no Pentra. He who is weak on Pentra cannot be a Gatkabaj. A tiger corners an animal but does not attack [blindly]. Lets say a boar gets cornered by a tiger. The front mouth, its tusks, are very dangerous if they catch the tiger as they will not let him go. That is why the tiger leaps [to evade] this way, or otherwise that boar ends up attacking instead of the tiger. He leaps over there from there over there. I have seen in the jungle whilst hunting myself that a tiger will corner a boar for up to eight hours. He only attacks when his attack won't go without fruit, or the tiger, attacks the boar after 3pm [indian summer] because between 3pm and 4pm he gets sleepy, or, tiger leaps over boar, behind him, and then pounces on his back in such a manner that all his back is crushed and he is not capable of running. Likewise, a true 'Gatkai' (practitioner) only then gives Chatka [killing strike] of hand when his blow will not go empty. Today's Gatka is an ox-beating game just striking stick on stick.' (Nihang Baba Ram Singh, transcript of interview, 17th April 1998)

  23. Exactly, they don't realize they are being used as mere chess peace/used as barbie dolls there to be entertained by wider capitalized sexist society. They themselves need to realize that their woman imagery is being used , abused and destroyed by this systematic sexualization of women in today era all under expense of woman, all under garb of "feminism", "woman empowerment". Ever wondered how simple natural mother- breast feeding to her child in public causes uproar in western society perceived as deaming and uncomfortable act in public, where as systematic sexualization of women is not and woman natural act-breast feeding to her child in public is being considered as "perverted"...something is wrong with our western soceity when it comes to treating "women" again all under soo called in marketing women feminism and all under emotionally charged slogans -empowerment of women..true feminist should have natural tendacies and true feminist should be against - soceity using woman and woman being used by media/soceity in all forms including left agenda -"sexualization of woman", right agenda- "control of woman" by sexist right wing machos not just one..!!

  24. What really rankles me about hypersexualism is the females who defend it with such ferocity! These are girls and women who are intelligent (at least in an academic sense), and in their attempts to "stick it to the man" over issues of male control, etc., they completely sell themselves short by arguing they have a right to appear in whichever salacious manner they desire. In their hot-headed indignation at not being liberty to any kind of male dictats, I think they've gone and got their wires crossed somewhere along the way. It surely is a case of the lady doth protest too much, lol.

  28. Obviously it is more beneficial to do the 5 bani. A common misconception is just by reciting Gurbani you are benefiting. Listen to every word, and most importantly, whether you listen or do, apply what you listen to in your life. That's what it's all about!

  29. not really, In Haryana and Punjab due to shortage of women many men are getting wives from Bangal, Bihar and Nepal. It i really sad that the evil practice of Daaj and Lain Dain is the cause of all this. People have become so Laalchi that they suck the blood of the girl's family. I have seen many people who try to act Mahan by saying "oh we don't take Daaj/Dowry", yet those same people end up taking a lot from the girl's family during the milni where every member of the boy's family is given gold jewelry. Really Bhukhay people.

Everywhere I look I've seen Sikhs calling Param a loser, an <banned word filter activated>, gay, swearing at him, posting pictures of him and making fun of his appearance. It's gone so far that in my eyes it equates to bullying. We all know that what he did was wrong, but we are reduced to a very low level when we insult him like that. Please always try to remember to speak sweetly and not lose any of your kamaaee over such issues.

Engage in meditating on Naam and keep asking for kirpa. The beauty of Naam is that even if the desire isn't fulfilled straight away one feels as if they have achieved everything, One's heart fills with Naam rass {sweet nectar} which drowns out all sorrows and grief. This is in total contrast to acquiring pleasures through worldly means alone. Without Naam one may acquire many pleasures but immediately afterwards one feels as if they have not acheived anything at all. A sense of emptiness follows. Only Naam can leave us feeling elated even if the desire takes longer to acquire. Waheguru. Waheguru. Waheguru.

  33. You sick and twisted souls that sanction capital murder. 90% of those Indians in Delhi demonstrating against the rape are almost as guilty as the rapist brutes themselves. These demonstrating Indians are the same ones that have been telling Sikhs to shut up every time justice for the 10,000 sikh women that were gangraped in just one night in that city is brought up. These demonstrating Indians are the same ones telling the victims of 10,000 rapes in just one night in one city to 'move on and forget about it'. These demonstrating Indians are the same ones that look back at the events of 1984 with pride and whenever they encounter Sikh activists they say "we taught you people a lesson in 1984" i.e gangraped 10,000 of your mothers, sisters and daughters. and if you don't stop demonstrating "we'll teach you people a lesson again". Don't fall to the base level of these disgusting Indians dear Sikhs. They are looking to hang the rapists because they don't want to look in the mirror and see how culpable each of themselves are for the deed. Don't bring yourselves down to their level. Be consistent. If you're supporting state killings in another country then have the conviction to call for official state killings in your own country. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander eh? As Sikhs you should occupy a much higher plane than these common Delhiwalas.

  38. Two MPs, 6 legislators face rape charges: New Delhi: Two sitting MPs and six sitting legislators in different states were fielded by their parties despite cases of crimes against women pending against them, a think tank said on Thursday, four days after a 23-year-old medical student was gangraped in Delhi. Data compiled by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) showed that parties like the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) gave tickets to candidates with charges of rape and other atrocities against women in different states. Referring to affidavits filed by lawmakers ahead of their election, ADR said MPs S Semmalai of the AIADMK from Salem constituency in Tamil Nadu and Suvendu Adhikari of the Trinamool Congress from Tamluk constituency in West Bengal declared that they were facing charges of cruelty and intent to outrage a woman's modesty. There were six legislators across state assemblies with rape charges against them, it said. Another 36 legislators declared that they were facing charges such as assault and molestation, it said. The think tank said that out of the six legislators with rape cases, three were from Uttar Pradesh and members of the SP. They are: Sribhagwan Sharma, Anoop Sanda and Manoj Kumar Paras. The three other legislators facing rape charges were: Mohd Aleem Khan of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Jethabhai G Ahir of the BJP in Gujarat and Kandikunta Venkata Prasad of the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh. The report showed that parties like the Congress, BJP, SP and BSP gave tickets to candidates with charges of rape. Of the 36 legislators, who declared in their affidavits that they were facing charges of crimes against women, six were from the Congress, five from the BJP and three from the SP, ADR said. Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of legislators (eight) who declared in their affidavits that they were facing charges of crimes against women, followed by Odisha and West Bengal with seven lawmakers each. The think tank said 27 candidates with rape charges contested different state elections in the past five years. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/two-mps-6-legislators-face-rape-charges-report/311637-37-64.html

  39. India Must Ban Child Labor Posted: 12/21/2012 10:35 am Gordon Brown Pressure is mounting on the Indian Parliament to end child labour after 150,000 Indians signed an abolition petition demanding an immediate change in the child labour laws. The petition follows the recent revelation of slave labour conditions under which young children of eight and nine were making Christmas decorations. Currently dangerous work is outlawed in India -- but there is no blanket ban yet on child labour under the age of fourteen. As a result India accounts for some of the worst excesses in global child labour; overall fifteen million children worldwide work full time when they should be at school. This week the children who escaped slave conditions have spoken of their fate and about their ambitions for the future. During their horrific ordeal they were trafficked, exploited, imprisoned and denied food and their stories underline the urgent action needed to end child labour. They would still be making tree decorations and other trinkets but for the courageous rescue carried out by Kailash Satyarthi and his co-leaders of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) and Global March Against Child Labour (GMACL). Their captors were slave masters who had them trafficked from Indian provinces. Often their parents were tricked into believing they were leaving to be given free education. Their stories, recounted in a new film published on our website EducationEnvoy.org, reveal a pattern of child abuse. The first child featured on the film is eleven year old Rahim from Malman Nagariain. From the moment he boarded a train to India's capital he became a prisoner and was eventually confined to a dark and dingy sweatshop in LNJP colony. He was forced to work 18 hours a day with only two recesses of ten minutes each for eating. He was never allowed to leave the premises and had to cook food for himself and his employer inside the sweatshop. He was often scolded and hit for being slow at work. His employer did not pay him a single rupee for his work despite being promised INR1500 per month. Now free he wants to study hard and become a soldier. Imran is eleven and hails from the Katihar district in Bihar. He was indentured to an employer who promised he could send home money to support his family. In the asphyxiating sweatshop, which also doubled up as his living quarters, Imran had to work 14 hours a day. While he produced quality Christmas ornaments and gifts for export, he was never paid anything. Imran will find it difficult to recover from his ordeal as his health suffered having to spend endless hours inhaling chemicals and adhesives. Though he is now free from the shackles of slavery and wants to go to school, the injuries he endured may be lasting, standing in the way of his ambition to be a teacher. He feels strongly that no child should experience what he went through. Aslam, twelve, is a native of Sipur village, Azam Nagar in the Katihar district. Despite being promised a good education he too ended up in the same dingy sweatshop in Delhi. Like the other rescued children he worked very long days, sleeping in the same room where he worked. He was never paid a single rupee. Interestingly he too now wants to be a teacher. Abdul came from the same village as Aslam. His parents sold him after they were promised their son would receive training to help him get a job. Instead he worked from 10am until midnight every day for months. He is now at BBA's transit Mukti Ashram rehabilitation centre whilst the legal formalities of his repatriation are completed so he can go home. Like Rahim, he wants to be soldier when he grows up. These boys tell similar stories -- from when they were trafficked through to being eventually rescued -- but they are only four of around fifteen million children not at school because they are forced to work. Only a bold change in the law and the policing of it will change the plight of these child slaves. So when the Indian parliament reconvenes in February, the Global March Against Child Labour is seeking a change in the law which bans forever child labour under fourteen and restricts the minimum age to eighteen. The bill has been drafted. Politicians of all parties support it. It just needs the time required to be heard in Parliament so it can be voted through and passed into law. Join us at EducationEnvoy.org in demanding the Indian people finally abolish child labour. Children should be putting up decorations not making them; the only work they should be doing is school work. Let's make 2013 the year child labour is consigned to history. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gordon-brown/india-child-labor-laws_b_2345756.html

  40. For pete's sake, the chap is trying to learn. It seems that everyone commenting is an uber brahmgiani constantly sitting in samadhi. Video can be a useful learning aid; the aim should be to use it as an aid to support learning and not rely on it in place of reading banis yourself. As I come from a non-sikh non-pujnabi background, I had to improvise. I learnt Gurmukhi script first, but only if you know the grammar and vocabulary and are familiar with the verses and their meaning, does it make it easy to read and memorise and eventually be immersed in the deeper meanings. Putting banis on video playlist is a useful aid. Spend an hour learning new pauris every day and skip ahead to the apporpriate place in the video to finish 'nitnem', with a view to being able to read everything eventually. Set a target for yourself e.g. so many pauris every day or jaap sahib in 1 month etc. Also recommend full sadhana whilst you're at it; introduce simran (with appropriate meditation technique) and yoga into your daily regimen and live a righteous life. This will put you in very good stead for taking Amrit. PS. The Raj Karega Khalsa videos are especially useful, but their English translations are not very good, so don't rely on them. Gurbani101.net has good basic meanings per pauri for nitnem banis. Knowing at least the basic meanings of what you're reciting goes a long way to help because our brains tend to recall concepts and ideas much easier than serially memorised information. It will also help you get much more out of the recitation as you get engrossed in the message as you go along. Wish you all the best.

  44. This non-sikh agent of india (the anti-Sikh individual pretending to be a sikh with the crossed swords) should be named. He is deliberately trying to get innocent Sikhs killed and harmed around the world. If our media, news papers, radio, magazines and tv stations really care about Sikhs and want to prevent further attacks on Sikhs then they will definately name and shame this man who hates humanity. It's better this one evil man gets a good slapping as a result of being exposed rather than further innocent men, women and children getting attacked around the world as a result of this evil mans actions. I wonder if any of our Sikh Media are brave enough, or care enough, to expose this anti-Sikh individual. One things for sure, any Sikh Media that does will get further financial support from the Sikh Community and a growing audience of Sikhs!!! Sikhs love justice, and to expose this anti-humanity individual is Justice!!! I am sure America would support any Sikh Media for exposing this vile man who burns America's Flag without Justification. It's going to be a total benefit for any Media who exposes this man!

He arranged a training camp on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border for his co-conspirators, arranged for the purchase and storage of the fertiliser for the bomb and funded the gang through frauds. His grandfather served in the Royal Signals in India during the Second World War and moved to Britain in the 1970s. Khyam said his family "didn't pay that much attention to religion" but he went to the mosque after school between the ages of five and 11 to learn the Koran in Arabic. He was sent to Hazlewick School, a mainly white secondary school near his home where he was captain of the cricket team and the only Asian boy in a local football team. He supported Pakistan at cricket and England at football. Khyam achieved disappointing GCSEs and began to take Islam more seriously, praying five times a day, and becoming involved with the radical group al-Muhajiroun, who showed him videos of Muslims being killed in Bosnia and Chechnya. Khyam came across Kashmiri radicals on a family holiday to Pakistan when he was 17 and the following year, in January 2000, he ran away to join the fighters under the pretext of a school trip to France. His family appealed to the press to help find him and relatives eventually tracked him to a training camp in Pakistan. The following summer, instead of taking A-levels, he flew to Pakistan and entered Afghanistan to meet the Taliban. Back in Britain, he signed up for courses at the University of North London but never attended because he was raising money for "the cause" and visiting Afghanistan. Meanwhile, his views became more extreme and in January 2003 he received a conditional discharge for using threatening language after a woman accidentally brushed up against him on a tube train. Omar Khyam's uncle told the Daily Telegraph: "You read in the papers, 'Ah, well it's because of lack of opportunities.' "Rubbish, what part don't you understand? What lack of opportunities? They had a reasonable education, they come from reasonable families, with very stable backgrounds, financially sound. "Khyam came from a privileged background, he lives in a semi-detached house. He was born and bred here. He drove a brand new jeep." Waheed Mahmood, 35 The gang's spiritual mentor, they would often meet at his Crawley home to discuss religion and it was at his house in Gujar Khan in Pakistan that they first planned attacks in Britain. He worked as a sub-contractor for the gas company Transco, which allowed him access to CD-Roms of the gas supply system, one of the gang's targets. It was Mahmood who suggested attacking Blue Water shopping centre in Kent adding: "We know it's going to work, inshallah [god willing]." Salahuddin Amin, 32 The fixer for the gang in Pakistan, he left Britain soon after September 11 and began running money and equipment to fighters in Afghanistan. He allegedly acted as a go-between for "Q" in Luton, Bedfordshire, and met both Khyam and July 7 bomber Mohammed Sidique Khan at the airport when they arrived in Pakistan. Amin was asked by Khyam to send him a recipe for the fertiliser bomb - an email intercepted by MI5 which led to the gang's arrest. Born in Hendon, north London, he lived in Pakistan between the ages of four and 16 before returning to Luton to study for his GCSEs at Dunstable College. He said he was brought up as a usual teenager, dating girls, drinking alcohol and getting into fights, leading to a conditional discharge at 19 for common assault. Amin graduated from the University of Hertfordshire aged 26 with a degree in product design but became involved in radical Islam at Finsbury Park Mosque where he met Abu Hamza. Anthony Garcia, 24 Real name Abdulrahman Benouis, he was the joker of the group and fancied himself as a male model. By his own admission, he was viewed as something of an "Ali G character" but he was also a key fundraiser for the group. Born in Algeria, he came to Britain aged five and was brought up by his father, a café owner, and disabled mother in Ilford, Essex, along with three sisters and two brothers. After school, he worked for a factory outlet clothing company, Somerfield supermarket, and as a security guard for Group 4, turning to radicalism at the Baker Street prayer groups of Abu Qatada. Jawad Akbar, 23 A friend of Khyam, who had been to the same school in Crawley and played football with him. Akbar lived in Pakistan until the age of eight when his family moved to Italy for two years and then to Crawley where his father worked as a manager for a catering firm. He was a third-year student at Brunel University in West London where he attended prayer circles which, he said, "send people to fight". He set up a Sunday school at Langley Green mosque in Crawley with Mahmood, and told friends his mother considered him "the pure golden boy". But he had a stormy secret relationship with a Sikh girlfriend and was heard telling her: "You will walk towards hellfire and drag me with you." It was Akbar who suggested attacking the Ministry of Sound, adding: "No one can even turn around and say 'oh they were innocent', those slags dancing around."

  46. Just got me thinking the last Sikh Raj, Maharaja Ranjit Singh had too much respect for Khalistan as to contain it with borders (but that's a whole other topic), but could a secular nation of Punjab be a viable option for Punjabis, Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims under secular law with seperation of temple and state as it was under Majaraja's rule, or would religious elements and division turn everything into chaos (again)? 47. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I write this post with a very heavy heart - I realise that we are giving these persons publicity when they do not merit it, BUT I think it is time that the greater Sikh Panth took action against them - but what that action is, I do not know!!??!!?? :T: :T: These guys are subverting impressionable young sikhs, that have just taken or are preparing to take Amrit, and putting these people on Manmatt paths. I agree that I am no-one to judge people's levels of spirituality or Buddhi - but what upsets me is that these youth are taking actions which are clearly against the Guru's Rehit. I know personally of 3 Singhs who have just taken Amrit within the last 2 years, but due to the Sangat of the Nangs in the subsequent 2 years, have completely changed their perspective on Sikhi. These youths treat the word of Nang Niddar as gospel, and are not prepared to listen to anybody else within mainstream Sikhi. I don't blame these guys personally, because they are fully taken in by it, and it is the only path of Sikhi they know - they usually have not done any Khoj of Guru Granth Sahib Jee as they have only started on this path. Under the influence of Nang Niddar, they only hear selective quotes from Guru Maharaaj and esp. from Dasam Granth, which have been spun extensively to create manipu lation to fit his ideas. As you can tell, I am well p*ssed off about this, but how should we tackle this? The usual answer is to make yourselves stronger and become the shining light so that ppl follow your example. I understand that - but these youths influenced by Nangs have only just come into Sikhi - it's a very difficult path - but when the Youth see the Nangs, they get taken in by it, and forget the long arduous path that REAL GURMAT requires. It's fantastic to see BOSS doing stronger seva and taking a more coordinated approach within the last year. No offence to them, but they had quietened within the last 4 years - giving the Nangs an opening. This obviously is having some success - the Nangs are reverting to doing false Nindiya of the BOSS sevadaars - this is quite telling!!! But I feel it is beyond the remit of BOSS alone - they cannot bring back the youth that have already been corrupted. Extra effort is required on a Panthic level - perhaps a resolution, if not by the Akal Takhat, then at least all other Jathebandis within the UK condemning the Nangs, i.e., AKJ UK, UK based Sant/Mahapurshs, National Council of Gurudwaras, all the Singh Sabhas, Nishkam Sevak Jatha, Nanaksar, Damdami Taksal, real Nihang Singh Jathas, like Baba Nihal Singh, Baba Wazir Singh (on Sukh Sagar Radio), etc. Once there is this concerted action on a Panthic level, then perhaps the Youth might raise their eyebrows towards the Nangs. :| However, this is only an idea and requires great coordination between Singhs within the UK - but generally, I'm quite p*ssed off - these 3 Singhs have been taken the wrong way. @ @ SS Jhamka Jee - I cannot wait soon enough for your real evidence on how wrong and fake Nang Niddar is - the sooner the better, just for the sake of all youth out there. May Guru Jee Baksh us with Summat. Please do forgive any Bhull Chuk Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! PS I'm not a Wahhabi or Taliban fanatic - I generally am very tolerant - I go to all Jathebandis to learn about Sikhi - but there has to be limits on tolerance, when ppl deliberately set out to subvert and lead astray the Youth.

  48. Veerjee.. Akal Takht do not say "Not to wear dastaar is okay". Akal Says Cover your head all the time. Pls don't change the words  Right.. my nankay are pure taksali with huge taksal background.. My mom's mum took amrit from taksal and she do wears daastar.. so it's not that only one jatha choose to have daastar only while other not. Niddar nihang or whoever they are.. i don't give a rat arse to them.. i don't care what they are.. they are just a piece of filth who are doing ninda and throwing all insult of sikh history and it's gurbani. . Jss veerjee.. how can you agree with them when they disort gurbani OPENLY on many forums (Many members seen it at "abc" forum) and on their old edition websites... No matter what.. Taksali and AKJ are against these nangs because they know that what ever these guys are doing is against sikhi and misleading sangat. There isn't huge difference between akj and taksal so pls stop trying to create hate between these two good chardi kala jathayys. Thats not a good evidence.. I do trust you without any question but without proper proof (like video evidence) i can't even .01% believe in the above statement. Actually i heard from a good friend of mine and he said that he talked about this with the real nihungs jatha back in punjab and he told me that they aren't even aware of these uk nangs.. I guess strong solid proof is the only way to solve this whole situation. Admin note : We are closing this post because we believe that it might out of hand and hurt some memberss sentiments.
