  1. Dalbir Singh Ji this classification of sehajdhari Sikhs as being non-Sikhs by naive elements within our Qaum is pushed by our Panthic dushts. In the next census they want to classify all derawadi influenced Sikhs as non-Sikhs but the longer term aim of our enemies is to classify the 90-95% majority within the Qaum who do not keep kes as non-Sikhs. That would eliminate all the threat that Sikhi poses to Hindutva forces. They know the 1940's Rehat was a massive achievement for Hindutva liars as it excluded crores of Dalits outside of Punjab from joining the Sikh Panth along with Dr Ambedkar. Now Hindutva has set its sights even higher against the Qaum. Their aim is to reduce us to a mere 5% of Punjab's population. We should be sensible enough to counter this and encourage sehajdhari Sikhs to engage more with others and do more seva for the Panth. Even the SGPC could benefit from sehajdhari members who have proved their dedicated seva for the Qaum on a practical level in terms of uplifting people's lives. If we can't treat our own sehajdhari Punjabi Sikhs as integral members of the Panth it bodes ill for how exactly Sikhi is meant to expand outside of Punjab. Lucky Singh Veerji i always benefit from reading your posts and I believe I speak for the whole forum. If Gursikhs like you were lost before you had progressed to becoming Kesdhari or Amritdhari then only the enemies of the Sikh Panth would have benefitted from that. Agree with you completely Veerji and Guru Sahib only advised us to voluntarily keep kesh for our own benefit (not merely to follow rules as our enemies say). Of course Amritdhari Sikhs do need to keep kes as a requisite for the Khalsa Panth. Jonny Veerji i'm truly humbled. I always assumed from your posts that you were Gursikh from day one. So it's inspiring to know that your whole family were ex-sehajdhari's like myself once too. Once people understand Sikhi (at their own pace) devotion to the Truth follows naturally. We need constant new sehajdhari blood for the Khalsa Panth to flourish and encouraging sehajdhari's is the way (rather than discouraging them not to do seva). Kes kattal and monah are loaded terms which perhaps we should steer away from in order to make all feel welcome within the Panth albeit with the realisation that Amritdhari jeevan is the ultimate goal all must try to aim for eventually.

  2. Veerji can you out how this Muslim sheikh is slandering his own beloved holy Prophet? When the information comes from Muslim sources it can hardly be called an attack! Onlyfive Veerji i believe the lack of an answer to your question categorically shows that Sikhs have been careful to distinguish between innocent Muslims (whom we Sikhs have nothing against and whom me invite to join us in the agenda of pushing for Sarbath Da Bhala) and Islam the religion which through the Prophet Muhammad and Quran undeniably promotes slavery, terrorism, sexism, discrimination and pedophilia.

  3. Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Sahib - many tried to test them but they were above all that. The most enticing (dancing) beauties were sent in front of Guru Ji by the Sri Lankan king Shiv Nabh, but Dhan is our Guru who instead adressed them as his daughters. Sikhi is truly the only unflawed Path started on Akaal Purakhs Hukam by Akaal Roop Guru Nanak Sahib

  4. I believe that if we want to become Gursikhs than we should start out as not viewing people as Kesh-Cuters any less than those who keep Kesh, One the original Panj Pyare used to be a barber, and also Bhagat Sain, Kesh could make you more holy, however to be enlightened it takes more than just keeping Kesh, everyone who ever converted to Sikhi used to cut their hairs, and if we actually taught the Sehajdhari today maybe they will change as well. Guru Ji did ask as to keep Kesh, I understand that fact completely; keeping Kesh can only be done if someone knows why they are doing it.{Bhagat Singh kept his Kesh after meeting Bhai Rahinder Singh, Bhagat Singh stated that he only kept his Kesh in the first place was because of his family traditions, prior to meeting Bhai Ji he kept his Kesh.} So we should at least give them a chance maybe they'll change, I used to be Sehajdhari because I didn't like to follow blind faith; but learning more about Sikhi and Bhai Taru Singh I have kept my Kesh; even once I kept my Kesh I feel like there is still so much to learn, maybe Waheguru just brings people to the truth at the right time. However, if you want to truly follow Sikhi and follow your Guru, and continue mediation, if you understand why we keep Kesh you probably should do it

  5. Everyone has the right to ask questions. Keeping Kesh does not make you holy, KPS Gill has kept kesh but has killed thousands of Sikhs while Navtej Singh Guggu a Mona Panth Dardi punished Ajit Poohla for his crimes against Sikh Nation. When Dera clashes happened in Punjab or riots in the UK it was (pendu) moneh who stood up for Sikhi (along with Amrtidharis). It is not right to shun them. SIkh Panth honoured Sehajdhari Sikh Bhai Kaura Mal who saved many Sikh lives in the 18th century & they are an integral part of Sikh community (they should however seek to become Amritdhari one day).

  6. In Sikhi, both nadar (grace) and karma (fruits of actions of past lives) have a role to play in what happens in our life. What happens to a person could be a result of karma, could be a result of nadar, or a mixture of both, e.g. a bad event meant to happen due to karma is reduced to a less bad event thanks to Nadar of Vaheguroo. There is also a third element at play, the grace of Gurmukhs/Sants - such sants are parupkari (merciful to others) and so pray to Vaheguroo to take on some of the bad karma of another person, the event will then happen to that person. Even when God's nadar comes into play to save someone, it does not mean that such a person is a 'good person' or that conversely someone who something bad happens to is a 'bad person', it just means that vaheguroo decided to intervene based on one thing about that person that pleased him to act at that moment. For someone something bad to happens, if the result is that Vaheguroo leads them onto bhagti it is in fact a great mercy of vaheguroo as as Guru Sahib has said, 'dukh daroo sukh rog bhaiea ja sukh thaam no hoee' - "Suffering is the medicine, and pleasure the disease, because where there is pleasure, there is no desire for God." In Sikhi karam philosophy is different from Hindu karam philosophy where the grace of God has no role and karma is all powerful. In Sikhi the effects of bad karma can be reduced by the grace of Vaheguroo and/or Sants. Please watch this video for further information on Karam Philosophy specifically in Gurmat:

  8. Can you blame them, I hear Sikh interfaith events were Sikhs say we follow a muslim and bow down to our scripture which has the writing of a muslim. The vast majority of gurdwaras are mis preaching, misteaching who sheikh farid is or was. This misconception existed even in the mughal era since 1600s it seems we have had 400 years and we still resolve this misconception. You can only go to Gian Khan if you have gian can you call someone a giani if they can't recognise the satguru, it can only lead them to karam khand based on actions.

  9. It's very disturbing that most Muslims you will meet actually believe this. They think that Baba Farid Jee was a staunch Muslim and so we Sikhs who read His Bani should all convert to Islam as a result. They don't know that the Baba Farid whose Bani is written in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee was Sheikh Brahm. Khair, we know the reality of Islam and of Sikhism. Their religion takes them to Gian Khand which is temporary, while Sikhi can take a person to the ultimate destination which is Sachkhand.

  10. When the marriage was consummated it is said she was playing with dolls. Many Muslim apologists say she was 19 not 9. But I don't know any 19 year old who plays with dolls. It just shows that even prophets, rishis, devtas could not conquer Kaam, Krod, Lobh Moh and Hankaar. Rishi Vishvamitar who had spent many years doing deep meditation and was very near to achieving his goal lost all his focus when Kaam in him was aroused by the Apsara Meneka. The king of Devtas, Indra lost to kaam when he cast his eyes on Ahilya. Not surprising since the Mann(mind) is full of ਮੈਲ from countless lifetimes. Only through Naam Simran can we cleanse the mind just as soap is used to cleanse dirty cloths. Great is Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee, who was beyond the 5 evil emotions and gave us Naam Di Daat with which we can achieve greatness in this world and the next. Only thing is for us to take full opportunity by doing Naam Simran.

  12. Daas is extremely disappointed by some of the posts on this forum in regards to attacks on Islam and our Muslim brothers and sisters. Even the prophet not been spared and despicable language has been used against them. To use foul language against another faith or our fellow brothers ad sisters is not right. The content on some of the posts seems to have come straight from biased right wing newspapers rather than Gursikhs. Even if a minority of Muslims are attacking our Sikh faith on other forums, still this does not give us the right to attack their faith in the same way, Two wrongs do not make a right. 13. Sikh body blames former DGP of conversion AMRITSAR : All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF), Peer Mohammad faction, has submitted a memorandum with Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh seeking his intervention into the incident of alleged conversion of Sikhs into Islam by former DGP Mohammad Izhar Alam Khan. AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad blamed on former Punjab top cop that he was allegedly converting poor Sikh children into Islam. He informed that a delegation comprising of senior Sikh scholars handed over a memorandum to Jathedar along with a 14 page petition signed by 565 Sikhs from US. The AISSF president alleged that Alam had so far contributed Rs 99000 each for the construction of more than 480 mosques besides he had installed Imam's of these mosques of his choice. "He had constituted 21 member committee of each mosque with majority of convert Sikhs as its members" said he. When contacted Alam said "My only comment is no comment" adding that earlier also a lot of people and organizations had leveled allegations against him . Peer Mohammad alleged that Alam as well as other senior Muslim police officer of Punjab had settled Muslim colonies in various parts of Punjab especially in Malwa where now mosques were being erected. He further alleged that many Sikhs who were earlier named Gurmial Singh, Gurtej Singh were now known as Gurmail Khan and Gurtej Khan after conversion. The Federation has demanded intervention of Akal Takht to hold an inqury into the incident and also urge state government to conduct a probe and prevent such a malpractice. Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh said it was a serious issue . He said he would ask Dharam Parchar Committee of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to conduct an inquiry into the allegations.. Source: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/Sikh-body-blames-former-DGP-of-conversion/articleshow/21147543.cms ************ Since the Badal group has taken control of SGPC. the BJP, RSS (and the central agencies) have accelerated their drive to destroy Sikhism; the deras have sprung in every village, the Christian missionaries in sikhi saroop have increased their activities to convert Sikhs to Christianity; anti Sikh cults like sach sauda, Bhaniyara or are flourishing supported by the government and allowed free hand in anti Sikh activities; and people like Izhar Alam who are converting Sikhs to Islam to increase their political base, are promoted as Akali leaders. ... ..... what can one say about Badals and their brand of Akalis

  15. Sikh is always a learner. So no matter where you are in the ladder, always try to improve your Sikhi lifestyle. If one is a monah, it does not mean he should not do Paath. He should do Paath in fact I would say Nitnem and should refrain from eating meat or drinking alcohol(trust me these rehits may seem difficult but they are easy). Sikhi is all about improving yourself. Take it step by step. Myself, my whole family were Monay at one time but thanks to Guru Jee's apaar kirpa, we have all become Amritdharis. For us what got us into Sikhi was to always remember 1984 and listening to the words of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale(both his political speeches and spiritual Kathas). Always do Ardas. Remember Sikhi itself is a gift from Guru Jee. When doing ardas ask for "Sikhi Daan, Rehit Daan" with full concentration and Guru Jee will give you these priceless spiritual gifts. It is no coincident that you are a Sikh. You have done great karmas in your previous lifetimes that you are now blessed with Sikhi in this lifetime. Now what you do in this lifetime will determine what will happen to you in future. You can waste it like the 7 billion people world wide who just marry, have kids, work from 9-5 or you can make something out of it by living in Grahisti jeevan and becoming a Hukami Sikh. Spend your lifetime in doing Paath, Simran, seva of the Panth. There is no better way to spend this manukhi jeevan our goal in this lifetime should be to have the divine Darshan of Vaheguru without which we cannot escape this endless cycle of life and death.

  16. UK riots what a time, peoples businesses were destroyed and sikhs who were standing outside protecting their gurdwaras also protected mosques, I remember seeing on live internet feeds muslims talking about converting sikhs then, on one feed mocking sikhs saying they carry knifes and are terrorists. Some muslims came on sangat tv, one muslim told everyone watching over that sikh channel (sangat tv) to the rest of the country to embrace islam and sangat tv didn't edit it out even though they were on a small delay and had time to take it out. Other muslim guys took the time to flirt with sikh girls standing outside while we had facebook groups with sikh girls flirting with them. It was shameful and then a muslim channel was talking about making special conversion dawah packs to give to sikhs after their fasting ended to convert them. Not to also forget the presenter of the sangat tv who was standing outside the hospital saying allah hu akbar on sangat tv after a prayer ended of one muslim guy dying. But besides the point we seem to find people saying those who don't keep kesh aren't sikh and anyone who ain't sikh has no right to speak about sikhi and when it comes to questions we also find a sense of individuals being fearful they might cause offence and individuals who respond to any question with anger, especially when they can't answer it.

  20. A person can surely speak about Sikhi, ask questions and even answer questions even though he/she has uncut hair. GS Mann speaks on Sri Dasam Granth extensively. If one of those Sikhs with uncut hair wants to say that uncut hair gives them the right to ONLY speak about Sikhi. Then they should go after GS Mann and the Khalsa Panth will back GS Mann any day of the week. These communist uncles and their communist children have no knowledge on Gurbani, reject Sikh history, and slander real Sants and scholars of Sikhi. They have small minds that cannot comprehend the vastness of Sikhi.

  22. Excellent post Jashb Veerji. I'm glad you are one of the Sikhs that realise the 100 million Punjabi Muslim population means we should detach ourselves from Punjabi culture completely and attach our loyalty solely to Gurmat. Liaquat Ali Khan (the 1st Prime Minister of Pakistan) and Sajjan Kumar are two of the most famous Jatts I can think of and the Jatts of Haryana are busy ethnically cleansing Sikhs out of Haryana just like their Jatt brothers from Pakistan who brutally killed Sikhs in 1947. Sikhs have no caste and the more we emphasise that the more young Sikh women might actually marry within the community rather than having the perception that they are from the wrong biraderi when Guru Sahib repeatedly emphasised Kul Nash (as opposed to idiotic gotra pride).

  23. Vaheguru has created a system of action and reaction. Everything that happens within that system is within His hukam. His Hukam and it's workings are so great that it is beyond our limited intellect. Everything that happens to us is a result of our past karams, but at the same time when someone does something bad to us it does not necessarily mean it is a result of our past karmas, maybe the aggressor has created a new bad karma by doing something bad and for that he will pay in the future.

  24. 70% of muslims in the UK are mirpuris, additionally I spoke to a few muslims about the origin of punjabi they felt muslims invented it and the sikh gurus were peasants who were using their language and for them they invoke this cultural similarity because the koran calls on finding common terms for the purposes of dawah to convert people, as we are from their perspective following a man made religion which is a rip off of sufi islam and we need to go back to the truth of the koran or burn in hell for ever. For them the influx of arabs and persians who came to give dawah like shakar ganj farid 700 years ago was an example of the language they brought in and we are using the words of them such as shaheed arabic, rab, malik arabic again, ibadiat, khudha (persian), insaaf (arabic), and the list goes on. Going back to the topic the language relevance only shows demographical who the biggest number of migrants are, collectively punjabi. I'm aware it's not just spoken by sikhs, in many ways the muslims seem to be doing a good job of keeping the language alive, while we corrupt it with pendo mispronunciations in bhangra songs or british mispronunciations. Right now people come in from pakistan either posing as ahmediyas an oppressed sect and then carry on practising their sunni faith, or pretending to be students with bogus schools or on holiday visas and over staying to then do taxi jobs or work in illegal establishments like clothes factories.

  25. You know what, Bradistan is currently the subject of another thread. Why not make a trip there? Ok, now I could think of a thousand and one reasons why you'd want to avoid doing exactly that, but let's say, for illustrative purposes, you've got a few screws loose, so you take a sojourn to lovely Bradford, to see the islamic hell hole for what it is, in order to convey the below point. You'd hear a lot of Panjabi spoken. But, you wouldn't see many Sikhs speaking it. That's because the majority of Panjabi speakers, in Bradford, across the UK, and in fact, all over the entire world, are pakistani muslim, and not Sikh at all. __________________________________________________________________ Shocked? If you're not, then you're in the minority. In fact, much of our community is so self contained, that our general misconception that Sikhs hold some kind of monopoly over the Panjabi language, is one of the most common delusions prevalent amongst Panjabi (especially rural) Sikhs. That, and the other, of course, being our stupid idea that almost all Jatts are Sikhs. The unholy equation goes something like this: "Panjabi = Sikh = Jatt". While readers of this forum would no doubt laugh at the stupidity of anyone who could actually believe that could be true, I could still show you about 90% of people from a certain biraderi who actually still believe that to be true in 2013. __________________________________________________________________ So many Sikhs, detached from the wider environment that they live in, and furthermore, still stuck in the whole "we're all asian" delusion, enthusiastically quote the fact about Panjabi being one of the most widely spoken second languages in the UK, as if it's a badge of honour for them. They are comically oblivious to the fact that the statistic is not of their creation, but rather that of their deepest enemy's. That same enemy that threw their ancestors' babies up in to the air, only to catch them on their wooden spikes, then made garlands of the severed infants' heads to place around the mother of the murdered children's neck, while she was forced to grind corn for the sadistic mohommedans, that so many of our own would assert to be our "panjabi brothers", in evidence of this irrelevant statistic. Clowns.

  30. One point to note for the brothers debating Islamists: Aisha was not mature when she married Muhammad nor when the marriage was consumnated. She took her dolls with her when she went to Muhammads home at 9. The Muslim scholars have clearly said that playing with images or toys is only allowed for pre-pubescent children. Besides physical maturity does not equal to mental readiness for sexual relations or marriage. In Sikhi a women is more than just a lustful object (unlike Islam).

To give you an idea of what these missionaries like Ghagga and Dhunda think, this is what the missionares are handing out in their leaflets at the Singh Sabha Gurdwara's in Alberta and probably other provinces and Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara's in North America and also Singh Sabha Gurdwara's in England probably ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ THE BEDI AND THE SODHI DYNASTIES: The Bachittar Naatak describes the History of the Bedi and the Sodhi dynasties as follows. Lord Ram Chander Ji had two sons - Luv, and Kush. Kaal Rai, a descendent of Luv, and Kaal Kate, a descendent of Kush developed some uneasy disagreement. Kaal Kate defeated Kaal Rai who fled to the State of Sanaudh where he married the daughter of the State ruler. A son was born to Kaal Rai who was named Sodhi. That is how, the Sodhi dynasty started. After some time, the Sodhis, who were the descendents of Luv, attacked the state of Kaal Kate, and defeated the Kushis who fled to Benaras. The Kushis studied Vedas for a number of years at Benaras, and came to be called as Vedis or Bedis. After sometime, the Sodhis invited the Bedis back to their State. The Bedis narrated the Vedas to the Sodhi ruler - first the three Vedas, Yajur, Rig, and the Saam - and then the fourth, Atherban. The reigning Sodhi was very happy to listen to the Vedas because all his sins were washed away by listening. He was so happy that he left the throne, gave it to the Bedis, and banished the city to go to some forest to lead the life of a hermit. The Bedis were very happy to get the power, and they promised that when he (we could not understand which one of the Bedis) would be born as Guru Nanak in Kal Yug, he would also give the Guruship to the Sodhis. And just as he was given the power after listening to the fourth Veda after the first three, he too would give the Guruship to the Sodhis, after three gurus, starting with the fourth. (What a ridiculous story!) 2/28 Kaal Kate bhayo bali apara. Kaal Rai jin nagar nikara. Bhaaj Sanaudh des te gaye. Tahi bhoop ja biahat bhaye. 2/29 Tih te pootter bhayo jo dhama. This tale has so many weak, and ridiculous points that it is a big disrespect to the Great Tenth Master if it is attributed to Him as His writing. It will require a large space to discuss all of them. Only a few important points are presented below for the consideration of the readers. What was so special about Sodhi Rai that Waheguru, Himself, started his dynasty? (See couplet 2/29 above). Who started all other dynasties? Because the Tenth Master was a Sodhi, the author some how tried to relate Him to Shri Ram Chander Ji so as to elevate the importance of the Sodhis. He also tried to relate Bedis to Shri Ram Chander for the same reason. To do so, he had to concoct a very flimsy story. Obviously, he did not realize that the Bedis and the Sodhis are respected not because they are the descendents of Kush and Luv - the sons of Shri Ram Chander - but because the First Guru was a Bedi and the last seven Gurus were all Sodhis. The Tenth Master strongly disapproved the use of castes and subcastes with the names because that aroused the sense of superiority among some people. That is why He made it mandatory for all Sikhs to use the word “Singh” as their last name. So, why would He describe the imaginary history of the Bedi and the Sodhi Dynasties violating His own principles? No other Guru ever mentioned their castes or subcastes. Guru Nanak was revered by all the people who came in His contact, not because He was a Bedi, but because He treated their misery, and showered them with love. The same Naatak describes the long and hard worship of God by the Tenth Master in His previous incarnation, and Waheguru sent Him to the Earth especially to spread His (God’s) Word. So, if the Sodhis were not promised Guruship, would not Gobind Rai be a Guru? Or, if Gobind Rai were to become Guru simply because of his birth in a Sodhi family as promised by the Bedis, why did he need to worship God? Guru Granth Sahib does not accept for a second that sins are eradicated by listening to the Vedas. On the contrary, the Gurbani maintains that the Vedas only classify what deeds are sinful and which are virtuous. In fact, people get more engrossed in Maya by following the Vedas. Consider the following sacred Shabads in this regard: Sagli rain sovat gal fahi dinus janjaal gawaiya. ....... Saster Bed trai goon hai maya andhlau dhand kamayee. (Bharau M:1) Bed baani jag vertada trai goon kerai vichar. Bin Naave jam dand sahhe mer janme vaaro vaar. Satgur bhete mukat hoye paaye mokh duar. (Malaar M:3 Ashatpadi) Bed baad sabh aakh wakhane. Na unter bheeje na Shabad pachhane. Punn paap sabh Bed drirhaya Gurmukh Amrit peeje hey. (Maaru Solhe M:3) Bed Puraan sabh dekhe joye. Oohan tao jayeay jau eehan na hoye. (Basant Rama Nand Ji) As is clear from the above sacred Shabads, let alone listening to the Vedas, even acting on them does not rid one of his sins. But let us suppose for a second, it does. Then the question arises: listening to which of the Vedas dispelled the sins of the Sodhi Ruler? Was it only the last Ved - Atherban, or were it all the four Vedas? If only the last Ved was capable of dispelling the sins, then there was no need to listen to the other three. And if it was all the four Vedas, then what sense does it make that the Bedis read the first three Vedas first, and then the fourth, so Guru Nanak would follow the same logic, and would give the Guruship to the Sodhis starting with the Fourth Guru? When four books are to be read - one at a time - what other way is there to read them? Why did the author write three and then the fourth? Why not in turn? Or, why not one and three, or two and two? This logic of three and then the fourth has absolutely no rationale. What sins had the Sodhi Ruler committed which were eradicated? Even if he had committed some, was it natural for him to abdicate his rule? Was not it more natural for him to reward the Bedis in some other form? At that time, what was so great about the Bedis that one of them ( and we do not know which one) knew that he would be born as Guru Nanak hundreds of thousands of years later? According to the Naatak, the Tenth Master had to really work very hard for a long time to please God; what had a Bedi done, other than reading the Vedas, that he qualified to be born as the Greatest Guru - Guru Nanak? If we are correct, only the Brahmans had the right to study Vedas. The Kushis were Khattris; so how did they earn the right to study Vedas? Also, the academics who are knowledgeable about one Ved are called Bedis, those who have the knowledge of two Vedas, are called Dubedis (or Dubes), having the knowledge of three Vedas are called Trivedis (or Tewaris), and those who know all the four Vedas, are called Chaturvedis (or Chaubes), and the last three are all Brahmans. Since, the Kushis had the knowledge of all the four Vedas, they should have been called Chaturvedis, and not just Bedis. Why is it that they were called only Bedis? According to the Hindu granths, the ages of various Yugas are roughly as follows: Satyug = 1728000 years. Treta = 1296000 years. Duwaper = 864000 years. Kalyug = 432000 years. The story under discussion took place in Treta yug. Why did it take hundreds of thousands of years for the Bedi to be born as Guru Nanak and to return the favour of the Sodhis? Even if this fairy tale is true, (and it has absolutely no ground to be true) why did the Sodhis have to wait that long? What good is a promise which is not delivered for millions of years? According to the most reliable scientific estimates, the first human appeared on the Earth less than 200000 years ago. (Most estimates put the age at 100000 years). And according to the World Book Encyclopedia (1999) edition, the first Ved - Rig Ved - is less than 4000 years old, and the Atherban Ved is less than 3000 years old. So, how could the Bedis have narrated the Vedas millions of years ago? If it is believed that the Sodhis got Guruship because of that promise, what had the Trehans (Guru Angad’s subcaste) and the Bhallas (Guru Amar Das’ subcaste) done to earn Guruship? There is absolutely no mention in the Naatak of any promise made to the Trehans, and the Bhallas by the Bedi ruler that they would be given the Guruship. Why could not the Guruship atay with the Bedis for at least three generations? Obviously, the Guruship was awarded for high spiritual and moral qualities. We believe that the real author of the Naatak either could not concoct any story to cover this gap, or being an ordinary human being, completely forgot about this aspect. The Naatak writes about the transfer of Guruship to Guru Ram Daas Ji as follows: 5/8 Jab verdaan sama vahu aawa. Ram Das tab Guru kahaawa. Tih berdaan puratan diya. Amar Das Surpur mag liya Again, if the Guruship was to be awarded to Bhai Jetha ji (Guru Ram Das JI) based on the promise, why did He have to work so hard to serve Guru Amar Das Ji? Also, Guru Amar Das Ji was under no obligation to transfer Guruship to Bhai Jetha Ji because He had not made any such promise. History bears testimony to the fact that Bhai Jetha Ji was a very noble soul who always respected the will of the Guru. By the time Guruship was to be passed on to some deserving candidate, Bhai Jetha Ji had completely overcome his ego, and other five natural forces - lust, rage, greed, attachment, and vanity. He was the most deserving candidate for Guruship. Also, if Bhai Jetha Ji did get Guruship because of the Promise, there must be thousands of Sodhis at that time, what did the other Sodhis get? Was the Promise specically made for Bhai Jetha Ji? In couplet 2/28 given earlier, the author writes that Waheguru Himself started Sanaudh Dynasty. But he forgot, the Dynasty, he is describing was Sodhi after the name of the son of Kaal Kat, and not Sanaudh. When people write fiction, they tend to forget things. That is what has happened here too. Whatever was written by any of the Gurus, was in the interest of the masses so t they may improve their lives by following the teachings of the Gurus. Even if the story of the two Dynasties is true, what purpose does it serve to improve the lives of people? The above discussion proves unequivocally, that this whole tale is imaginary and baseless. If we remove the curtain of blind faith from our eyes, it will become absolutely clear that this fairy tale-like story of the two Dynasties cannot be the creation of the ninth successor ( the Tenth Master) to the World Guru - Guru Nanak. It is possible that some people may try to twist the facts to prove it to be the writing of the Tenth Master, but this whole composition is so opposed to the Principles of Gurbani, and is also so weak from scientific point of view that it is impossible to have been written by the Tenth Master.

  39. Let me start by saying his name is Jagraj Singh and not Jagraj. To those that are criticising I suggest you view all the videos and take the positives. Even I don't agree with all the views but am happy to set aside differences and look at the greater good of what bhaji has started. This project if you like is a labour of love, he has given up a successful career and performs this parchar out of love for Sikhi. Sikh leaders should be paying for his work but instead in this era of kaljug Jagraj Singh is relying on donations! If we don't support up and coming naujwan parcharaks like this for their selfless service we need to question and ask ourselves what contribution have we made since following Sikhi apart from at best sitting on back benches? If you feel bhaji can improve or have public speaking experience I suggest you get in touch through the site and let be known your recommendations. Jagraj Singh posts on this site occasionally and I'm certain will be happy to take on concerns. He is very easy going and thoroughly down to earth.

  40. Relax bro....... Heterosexuals are just as much sick in the head as homosexuals..............kaam is not only in homosexuals. The Singh in the videos is doing an awesome job. On a side note: a forum that was trying to do damage to Sikhi from the inside is dying a slow death. Their activity rate has come down almost to zero. I guess the world is waking up to such hate mongers.

  41. excellent suggestion. Sikhs like Sarvjeet Singh Jee and Harpal Singh Kasoor can combine resources and should work in collaboration. So much history of Satguru Jee is lost and remains to be discovered. I remember reading a book by a Singh who did research of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee's travels in Buddhist countries like Tibet, Sikim and Bhutan. Guru Sahib kirpa karn te bal bakshan so that His Sikhs can discover this very important history.

  42. King Shiv Nabh of Sri Lanka did convert to Sikhi and sent preachers far and wide in his kingdom. The Portugese and Dutch did destroy alot of the indigenous culture. The locals reverted back to their old ways with passage of time just like the Nanakpanthis in Arabia, Mesopotamia etc. Best of luck with your research, Sarvjeet Singh. Try to contact Harpal Singh Kasoor (Canada), he is researching Guru Nanak Sahib's udasis since decades, and I'm sure a collaboration would have great results. The last remnants of Guru Nanak Sahibs visits in many places are vanishing, so we should support brothers like Sarvjeet Singh to locate, preserve this history and also raise awareness about it. Dhan Guru Nanak, Dhan Guru Nanak...

Refer to page 190 of this http://www.scribd.com/doc/112312262/Guru-Nanak-Dev-Ji-His-Life-and-Teachings-by-Kartar-Singh-GurmatVeechar-com-pdf RAJA SHIVNAB OF CEYLON After a circuitious tour through the chiefcities and holy places ofthe Deccan, the Guru reached Cape Comorin. From there he crossed over to Ceylon. Raja Shivnabh of Jaffna had heard of the Guru from a merchant Sikh and had become his devoted disciple. The Guru's Songs of God sung to him by that merchant, Munsukh, had soothed his heart but had, also, stirred his soul with a powerful longing to see the Heavenly Singer who sang of the Great Bounteous Lord in such inspired and inspiring words. ll that the merchant had told him about the Guru had only served to whet the edge of the Raja's yearning to see the Master. He had wanted to accompany Mansukh to the Panjab and lay himself at the Guru's feet. But Mansukh had counselled him to love and wait in faith. 'The Master is drawn', said he, 'across great distances by the invisible string of his disciples' love. Only, let the love be deep, steady, and sincere. He will as surely come to you as the sun will rise again in the east tomorrow. He does not like that people should neglect or give up their daily duties in their uncontrolled zeal for a life of the spirit. He would like you to carry on your kingly duties in a spirit of love and service. Besides, who knows to what regions he might have gone? He is "ever on the wing in pursuance of his self-chose. heaven ordained task of saving mankind from the clutches of its evil propensities. So, as I said, love and wait. If you concentrate your mind and, with purity of heart, pray for his presence, he will not fail to fulfil your true desire. He will come. The force of your love will draw him to your place, wherever he be. Have faith and patience. They will get their reward. ' Raja Shivaabh had accepted the advice. He had begun to love, pray, and wait Every morning and every night before going to sleep, he had prayed earnestly for the Guru to reveal himself to him in person. Having been told that the Guru loved to stay out under open skies, away from the bustle and bustle of human habitations, the Raja had planted a grove of shade trees for the Guru's sojourn. The thing had got wind. Many imposters had come, pose as the Guru, and stayed in the grove. But all of them had failed to satisfy the yearning of his soul. The imposters had made him cautious. Thenceforth, he had issued orders that all who came to his city, posing as GUru Nanak, should be sUbjected to various tests. Rich food and drinks of all sorts were provided. Beautiful damsels were sent to dance before them, to serve them, and to use their arts with them. None had been able to withstand these temptations. Shivnabh's despair had grown deeper with the lapse of time. It was at such a time of doubts and despair that the Guru reached there and took his seat in the grove. Attracted by the divine music and the agnetic personality of the Guru, people came to him in large numbers. Shivnabh had been duped many times in the past. He would not go himself, or believe the stranger to be the Guru, until he had tried and tested him. So he ordered two of his prettiest and cleverest court-dancing-girls to visit the Guru and tempt him with their wiles and charms. If they failed to entice him, then, would he himself visit the holy man. The girls almost danced into the grove, dressed in gay garments, full of laughter and mischief, carrying baskets, full of flowers to offer to the Guru, sure of conquest, proud of their beauty and the magic of their blandishments and passionate music to charm and conquer him as they had done in the case of others. None else was allowed to enter. The Guru and his companions were thus left alone with the unholy, beautiful young charmers. The Guru looked up with a stem, lovefullook, as a father looks at a prankish, erratic child, and bade theJE. sit and think of God. Those who had come to conquer were themselves conquered on beholding the Master's Glory. The Guru's look penetrated deep into the depth of their hearts and cleansed them ofall their evil inclinations. They bowed before the Guru, experienced a sense of elation unknown before, and returned transfigured to their master, the king. Shivnabh had only to look at their faces to convince himself. Their eyes were bright with a strange delight. Their faces glowed with the radiance of the divine spark which, hidden so long in the depths of their hearts, had now been fanned into life by the Guru's holy breath. Shivnabh needed no further tests.•At last he has come', said he, and danced in glee. He took his son and queen with him and went to the garden. The damsels were right. The sight of the Guru's loving, peaceful, radiant, inspiring countenance was enough to lay all doubts at rest, and to soothe and quieten all thoughts of despair. It was He, 192 GURU NANAK DEV : LIFE AND TEACHlNGS the long-exptected Divine Guest. He laid himself prostrate at the Guru's feet. A thrill ofnew life andjoy passed through his whole being. All vain, wandering and restless longings of the heart were laid at rest for ever. His faith and patient waiting were rewarded. The Master himself had come across numerous forests and rivers, and over several thousand miles of wild, desolate land, to fulfil the lovefullonging ofhis desciple. Tne thought made him cling to the Master's feet still more fervently and wash them with tears of joy and gratitude. The prince and the queen also bowed at the Guru's feet and obtained his blessings. All the three rose at the bidding of the Guru. For a pretty long time they sat quietly, feasting their eyes, heart and souls with the heavenly sight before them; enjoying the holy presence through every cell and pore of their bodies, and inhaling unutterable joy at every breath. At last, the king took courage to break this blissful silence. With folded hands he said, 'Grant me light, 0 Master. I have waited for years and years.' The Guru said, 'I have come across all this distance in response to your steadfast, devotion. I know that you were waiting for me.' The Raja then asked 'From your dress, it is difficult to judge whether you are a Jogi, a Brahmin, or a householder. What path do you follow l' The Guru replied with the hymn given below :- The Jogi who knows the secret of the pure Name, has not a particle of uncleanness; The True Beloved Lord is ever with him and he escapes birth and death. o God, what is your Name and how can it be comprehended? If Thou call me unto Thy Presence, I would get this doubt removed. A Brahmin is he who is soaked in knowledge of God, who worshippeth God by ever singing His praises, and Who meditates on the Name of the Lord whose light illumines the three worlds. Make the heart the scales, thy tongue the beam, and weigh the unnweighable Name. The Lord's gate is the shop and He Himself is its owner; dealers in Name alone gather at that shop. The True Guru saves at both ends, here and hereafter. But he alone understands it who is attened to the One Lord and and whose mind wavers not. He inscribes the Word in his mind, serves God day and night, and has ended all his doubts. Above all is the sky (the Tenth Door), wherein abides the Lord. And wherein dwells also the Unfathomable Guru. Through the Guru's Word, whether I am at home or abroad is the same to me; Nanak has become truly detached, an anchoret par excellence.' Rag Maru. In this hymn the Guru stressed the point that men of religion, under whatever name they might choose to be known, were in fact worshippers of the same One God, and were as it were, dealers in the same commodity, the Name of the Lord. TheRaja bowed and said, 'Forgiveme, 0 true Guru. I am impelled to ask questions which people generally ask to resolve their doubts. Your words are like shafts of light which pierce and dispel darkness.' 'Ask whatever you wish to ask' ,said the Guru. 'I am here to remove all your doubts and to lead you on to the true path.' 'I should like', said the Raja, 'to have answers to the following questions: From where does the soul of man come and where does it go? What is its source and to what does it return after death? How is it bound? How is it freed? How does it become one with the Lord Eternal l' The Guru answered with a hymn in which he at ftrst puts the questions and then answers them :- 'Man is born and then dies, 0 wherefrom he comes? What is his source and to what does he return ? How does he merge in the Eternal Lord in the natural way? He who has the nectar of Name in the heart and in the mouth' and who dwells on God's Name, becoms detached like Him. Then he comes and goes in the natural way. He is born because of the desires and tendencies of th~ mind and merges in Him again for the same reason. Through the Guru's instructions one is emancipated and is not bound again. He ever pondes on the Name and achieves deliverance through the Name. On the tree of the world many birds flock together for the night's stay. Of them some are happy and others are miserable;, 1. That is, who ever utters the name. Attachments in the mind are the cause of ruin; As the night ends, they look up at the sky again and the same fluttering of heart starts again; Then they wander about in all directions according to the writ of their Karma. But they who are merged in the Name regard the world as a temporary shelter in a pasture during the rainy season. And, shedding their lust and anger, break the pitcher of the poisonous Maya. Without the capital stock of the Name, the home and the shop are empty. But when the Guru meets, he opens the closed gates of true vision. In consequence of pre-destined union, one meets the true teacher. The men of God are perfeet and are ever happy in Truth. They who surrender their Will and their body to God in the natural way. Nanak, touch feet, for they are worthy of reverence.' Rag Gauri. The Raja's questions were answered to his satisfaction and his doubts were all removed. He was completely converted and he accepted the Guru as his Light-giver. He then said to the Guru, 'Having come so far to bless your unworthy but lucky slaves, will you go a little further? Will you enter the city and sancitify with your presence the home of your happy slaves l' 'No. friena', replied the G~, 'I am aU right here'. But the-king persisted in his entreaties. The Guru smiledand said, 'All right, I shall go; but won't go on foot' 'Why should you walk, Master? A horse, a horse and six, or an elephant, or whatever else you desire, shall be sent for.' 'But I should like to ride on the back of a king.' 'Nothing more pleasant or blissful, my Master. Come, I shall blithely carry you on my back through the city, so that allmay know the immensity of my joy.' Shivnabh at once sat in the necessary posture and invited the Guru to be true to his word and ride on his back. The Guru was glad at the Raja's devotion and self-surrender. He bade him go and build a dharmsala near the palace. He would go there when it was ready. The building was soon completed. The Guru went and took his lodgings there. People now flocked to the place in order to listen to his soul-stirring, peace-giving, joy-inspiring Songs of the Lord. The whole city and the suburbas bowed before the Guru and became his disciples. Raja Shivnabh, as the most devoted of them all, was entrusted with the duty of preaching the Master's mission in the country. After a short stay the Guru bade farewell to the sangar there and made a tour of the whole island. In all place he was listened to with reverence and delight. The whole population of the places visited by him embraced his faith and began to sing the Word of God as given to them by him. Sikh sangats came to exist in all places visited by the Guru and Sikh temples were erected in many of them. One such temple exists at Colombo. During his stay with Raja Shivnabh the Guru composed the Prasangli, a metrical composition 'containing an account of the silent palace ofGod, the manner of meditating an account of the silent palace of God, the manner of meditating on Him, the private utterances of the Guru, and the nature of the soul and body.' It was taken down by one or other of his two companions, When the Guru departed from Shivnabh, he left the Pransangli there with the instruction that ifanybody comes for it from the Panjab, a copy there of was to be given over to him. When Guru Atjan, the fifth Guru, began to collect the writings of his predecessors for the compilation of Guru Granth Sahib, he sent Bhai Paira to Ceylon to bring him the above-said composition of Guru Nanak. We do not, however, find it in Guru Granth Sahib, probably"the copy which Bhai Paira brought was not the genuine one or was incomplete and was, therefore, rejected by Guru Atjan. On his return, Bhai Paira narrated his experiences and observations of his long journey. A gist of the narrative was taken down by Bhai Banno in his copy of Guru Granth Sahib under the caption 'Haqiqa Rah Mukam', and exists to this day. A copy thereof is 'appended to a manuscript copy of Guru Granth Sahib found by Henry Erskine, in the battle-field ofGujrat, 1849, now preserved in the British Museum, under Or, 1125.'1 This manuscript belongs to Akbar's time and affords a very valuable record from the historical point of view, as it establishes certain points beyond all doubts, e.g, the vist ofGuru to the Decean and Ceylon, the establishment of several centres of the Sikh faith in those parts (which were quite flourishing at the time ofBhai Paira's visit and some of which exist to this day), and the fact of Raja Shivnabh's having 1. Teja Singh Ganda Singh, p. 9.fn. 1% GURU NAJIIAK DEY :LIFE AND TEACHINGS embraced Sikhism. At the time of Bhai Paira's visit, a grandson of Shivnabh was the ruler of the place. A free kitchen was being run at the Dharmsala which Shivnabh had built for the Guru. Thousands were fed there everyday. Bhai Paira found a good many centres of Sikhism in the Deccan, where the Guru was fondly loved and remembered by thousands who sang his Songs and devoutly followed the path which he had shown to them.

Well you said lover, (so I'm going to be bold enough to assume it is what you say it is) when you play with fire, sometimes you get burnt. Be a man and don't blame it on He Who Must Not Be Named, he's dead man, Harry Puttar defeated him. Do me a favor, lift your right and and get up in salute position and slap yourself three times and become a murga for three hours, then your lover will magically fall back in love with you and come running back. Trust me, i'm a Pandit.
